Sundried Tomato American Bistro - San Clemente

This was a lovely place that my wife and I took some family members to. They actually live in the area but had never been here and I read some good reviews so we tried it and were very happy. Food was great and it was a lovely night so we dined out on the patio.

We had a great time here every time we visited. I had a catering service for my wedding 5 years ago. We came back here again with my son.

This is the first time I’ve been positively surprised by food since the pandemic. Carefully crafted flavors in the food and cocktails we ordered. I’m so accustomed to being able to easily break down dishes and critique on how they could be better, and I couldn’t do that here. Our ordered Pasta-less Lasagna - in a word…Wow Seared Ahi - Perfectly seared with delicious sauce and the best mashed potatoes I’ve had in years (yes, including my own) Spiced Pear Martini Passion Mule

This is my San Juan Capistrano go-to spot. Fresh, flavorful food with attentive service in a California casual atmosphere! It’s a vibe!

Not just one of the restaurants in San Juan, it's an institution that is a valuable part of the city. Great service and food. Funny they serve the best French Fries, stringy and crunchy. And, of course, the tomato soup is a house specialty.

One of the best little spots in the area. Don't miss the sundried tomato soup and grilled cheese, it's so good! The outdoor patio is really nice and shaded, making it a great lunch spot as well.

the quality of food is amazing. prob one of my fave restaurants. the egg rolls, duck taquitos, and the tomato soup were my favorite.

I have eaten here a few times with a different people. The food is always very good. I always get this salad super yummy with salmon. I have special dietary needs and they’re always accommodating and supportive of those me. I highly recommend them.

The braised beef omelette, beef sliders, brussel sprouts, and mini tacos are really tasty! Indoor and outdoor seating are both cozy. My favorite spot to stop at for food when in the area!

Go and eat here! The service was great and the food was delicious. The presentation of the food was very nice. Very quiet for a Saturday lunch. The beer was very cold. The calamari was cooked just right and the cheese cake quite yummy. The staff was friendly and attentive. Well worth the visit.

Went to this nice restaurant with my family visiting from San Francisco, I must say that tomato soup was delicious 😋 I had fish and chips and my husband the french dip, everything was really good will come back again, the bottle of wine for 4 of us was delicious too, highly recommended

Wonderful selection of meals for Thanksgiving (special menu). Very nice wait staff. Nice location in downtown SJC, close to the Mission and train station.

The food here was absolutely phenomenal! I had the half and half, get a choice of half sandwich and/or salad and/or soup. I got the sundried tomato Cesar and the Lemon Chicken Risotto soup. Both items were uniquely DELICIOUS! I also tried the Lavender Lemondrop! Also, very very good (and strong!!) The prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. They have a small outdoor patio that was comfortable.

Wonderful experience, amazing food outstanding service. Must try the blackened chicken spring rolls and the creamy sun-dried tomato soup.

We used Sundried Tomato Catering for an event with about 70 people at our home. The planning, food, and service was outstanding. Patti was fantastic in helping with the planning - menu advice, visiting our home, etc. The food for the event, like the restaurant, was delicious. Lastly and as important, our servers Suzie, Paige, and John were incredible. They really knew what they were doing and I knew we were in good hands. They went above and beyond providing the meal and bar service in cleaning things up, packing leftovers, etc. As one of our guests said, “it was perfect and seamless.”

Been coming here since it opened, I love this restaurant! They have a new chicken piccata dish… SO GOOD! Run don’t walk. The food is so good every time! Love the chopped salad and the chocolate cake!!!

Bailey, our server, was great! We loved the salmon, chopped salad, artichoke, and blackened chicken spring rolls. An absolute flavor explosion!

It was my 1st time dining at Sun Dried Tomatoes. It’s a darling place, great atmosphere, extremely friendly and welcoming service. The food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. I had a salad and always ask for the dressing on the side. I forgot to ask, but the dressing was delicious, and best of all, it was not excessive, completely drowning out the taste of the salad. I will definitely add the Sundried Tomatoes to my go to places to eat!

Ingrid was absolutely incredible! Warmly greeted upon coming in, and left so satisfied and excited to come back! It was my first time visiting, and she walked me through the menu and all of the specials, and gave fantastic recommendations. Food was delicious and cocktails were perfect. I look forward to coming back, and absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, intimate spot with first class service.

Came her to celebrate my friend's birthday, food is delicious!But services was great! Abraham was our server ,he was very attentive, he is a great singer!! Very talented amazing voice, he sang HBD to my friend. Seriously Abraham you need to be at " America's Got Talent"

Very good food and good service. We tried tomato soup, beef rolls and grilled fish - everything was good..they can also split portion into two plates if you want to share.

Nice place to stop for lunch...about $25-30 for lunch. Excellent French dip and chicken salad. Sweet potato fries were well cooked and tasty. The chicken sandwich was a bit bland. In addition to a small dining area, there is seating in the bar and outside. We would definitely stop by again.

Parking definitely a challenge, So in our party we ordered the Pesto Penne, a Lamb burger and waffle with strawberries. Complimentary danishes for delivered to the table. Our server was very friendly and nice. Food with server probably. The lamburger was very good a little too many peppers and onions but great taste,

Reading the menu made my mouth water, everything sounded so delicious. The chips with gorgonzola cheese were really good, the sub dried tomato soup was amazing and the chicken sandwich with pesto was so flavorful. I only had two complaints... the service started off really slow (ended much better) and my grilled cheese sandwich was not even warm. #LocalGuides

Location in the heart of San Juan Capistrano. It's on the corner. The atmosphere is cute. Food is good if you are looking for something different. Ordered the bbq ribs . The ribs were tender however it is not traditional bbq. More of a tangy tomatoe base . Scallops are huge ..however little salty for my taste.

Had a great lunch on a day trip to San Juan Capistrano here. Had the blue corn duck taquitos. They came with fresh guacamole and sweet and sour dipping sauce. They were amazing! Also had the lamb burger and the French dip sandwich. Everything was really tasty and well prepared

We had a quick lunch at the bar, the tomato soup is amazing! My vegetarian burger was really good but not as tasty as expected with a homemade patty. Overall it was really good and the service was great.

Seemed like a slow night, so service was spotty & we asked for some things, sat in the bar with a group of friends. They didn't seem real happy to have extra customers/business. Food was good, but could have been hotter.

The service was kind of bad. It was annoying being carded and questioned about our IDs when we're all adults. The blackened chicken bowtie pasta made up for it. That dish is AMAZING! TONS of chicken and huge chunks of garlic. I'll be back for sure, but I hope I get a different waiter/waitress.

Pretty good. The pasta was tasty but the portions are WAY too big for lunch and the prices match - it’s the same as their dinner portion. It would be great if they could reduce both. Great service until the guy seemingly forgot about us on the patio after the food came out. Overall good but not great for lunch.

I ordered fish and salad. The fish - halibut was lacking crispness and didn't taste fresh. It was a bit disappointing dining experience. The service was good.

I’ve always liked this place. But we made reservations a couple of weeks ago for Christmas Day. I was just told a few minutes ago that they’re closed on Christmas Day. They shouldn’t have allowed me to make a reservation. Now I have to find another place.

$19 for the "lasagna"? Are you kidding me? Its a pile of flavorless mush with no goats cheese whatsoever. This is a complete waste of my money and time. We drove 25 minutes to go here for this and the chowder. The chowder tastes good, but bitting into sand every other spoonful just isn't pleasant. Will NOT be back.

Cold grilled cheese and luke warm soup. Quality has gone down. Not a great experience.
