Opinions de Sweetgreen Sunnyvale
This is mainly a salad bowl restaurant concept. This a restaurant curtain. We went to the Sunnyvale location along El Camino near Mathilda avenue. There are lots of healthy options to choose from. You can choose from a fixed menu or you can customize the bowl. I customized the bowl with wild rice, chickpeas, onion, baby spinach , carrots, hard boiled egg, warm portabella mushroom, Parmesan crisp with the spicy cashew sauce and the pesto vinegarette. There is indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. The food was really great and filling. Its slightly pricy, but worth it.
The ingredients are fresh, and the salads taste great — healthy and satisfying. The staff is friendly and the store is clean and well-maintained. That said, pickup can take a while during busy hours, and parking is sometimes a challenge. Hopefully these issues can be improved in the future. Still, it’s a solid spot for a healthy meal and definitely worth trying!
I would like to draw management’s attention to the work of one of your employees, namely Nicolle R. She was rude and, for reasons I don’t understand, refused to mix my dish. She made up a story that this particular dish is not mixed, although I always order the same thing and have never heard anything like that from other employees. I understand that anyone can have a bad day, but as a customer, I shouldn’t have to experience that. Thank you.
Good for grabbing a healthy salad and eat at home. They have a few seats if you want to eat there.
Love the Harvest bowl. It is healthy and filling. My partner tried the Honey chicken and enjoyed it. We requested for some extra sauce and were helped immediately. Small seating area inside but overall a good experince. Recommend both for dine-in as well as takeout.
Healthy quick lunch and dinner spot in bustling downtown Sunnyvale next to Trader Joe’s and other shopping venues. This place focuses on healthy bowls and salads that have generous servings and fresh ingredients. The hot honey chicken bowl and basically all their salads are expertly designed and always fresh. We always leave this spot feeling full and happy without being overly heavy and tired like you would feel after eating a cheeseburger somewhere else. They have other healthy drinks such as kombucha and teas! Be aware that this place is highly popular and located in a popular area. This means that you are likely to wait in line for a bit. The wait has never been more than 10 minutes though! The service is fast and you order and get everything at the counter before you sit! Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a healthy lunch option at a decent price. Expect to spend around $15+ per person.
We’ve wanted to try Sweetgreen for a while and they certainly don’t disappoint. I got a custom bowl and the produce is fresh and ethically sourced. They also display their thorough cleaning process of all produce in the open kitchen so you can see/verify how diligent they take care of everything while you order. Sweetgreen also cooks all proteins using only extra virgin olive oil and/or avocado oil. If you’re a healthy foodie like I am, these processes and details in food prep are important. I wish I would’ve taken a picture before we started eating but it was so yummy I couldn’t wait! Definitely coming back here again.
If you’re looking for quick, healthy option for lunch, then this place is for you. You can order one of their featured salads or create your own. I tried the hummus salad and it was really tasty. Portions were generous, too. Service was fantastic- I had a problem with my online order that was due to user error. Lulu, the manager, helped me resolve the problem with a simile. Thank you, Lulu! You made my day!!
Nice, clean environment. A couple tables to sit on, if you like to eat inside. Variety of bowls to choose from. The greens were fresh and tasteful. Fish taco warm bowl was great. Large portions. Great lunch option. Wow surely recommend.

Stopped here on the way to the dog park. Wanted something healthy and I sure got it. I did enjoy the Harvest Bowl, except there wasn’t enough dressing. It was dry and the kale definitely needed softening with some dressing, so I didn’t really enjoy the texture. But the flavor was there, just minimized. Pricey, $15 for this but I’d probably try it again. Also got the rosemary focaccia bread which wasn’t super fresh and soft but it still tasted good.
Great location. Love this chain salad place. Nice and clean environment to enjoy the food. Salad is really good too. I love it even I am not big fan of salad. Harvest bowl is my usual. But I need to switch from kale to spring mix. That kale is not tasty to me. The down side is they prepare food slowly. Normally one hour to get a salad bowl ready. Come on, I know you have a lot of orders. But they are just get prepared ingredients into bowls.
First time trying sweetgreen, recommended by my friend! I got the Guacamole Greens which consisted of: roasted chicken, avocado, tomatoes, red onions, shredded cabbage, tortilla chips, spring mix, chopped romaine, lime squeeze, lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette. You're allowed to sub toppings for equivalent in their categories. I opted to sub the lettuce for kale. I swapped cabbage for another topping, but forgot which one I got :P I also added a rosemary focaccia. It is pre-packed. It was quite good. I would pair order this exact same thing! Appreciate Sonya for taking the time and walking me through for my first time! There is seating inside (I think outside too). Parking outside the plaza not too hard to find. Follow the adventure @shoyuthebest on IG!
Service ok. Kinda slow as one lady in front and the remaining staff on smoke break? J.k. I don't like the new policy on customized bowls. Only 4 scoops and the toppings are part of 4th scoop. I got salmon protein. It was hardly there when mixed in the salad. I will slow down my healthy eating and go elsewhere.
Ok I LOVE sweetgreen. Ngl some of the stuff is hit or miss (I’m not a huge fan of the salmon or the garlic steak, even though I love garlic and steak). BUT the custom salad bowls are my absolute favorite way to get greens in my diet. I always get mixed greens with wild rice and veggies, avocado, roasted chicken, goat cheese, and green goddess dressing. It always tastes SO good. The bowls are a little expensive, but as someone living on their own it’s not feasible for me to buy salad ingredients in bulk because they go bad too quickly. Sweetgreen is a delicious, filling, and quick way to get a salad in.
Visited with my friend for dinner. The food tasted good, however I had GI issues afterwards - maybe from the dressing or from the marinated and fried tofu? The staff was nice, however probably so busy that they couldn't take care of the cleaning. We had to remove the food pieces from previous guests and wipe down the table to be able to eat without getting our sleeves dirty. Every table had food leftovers...
Tried the Shroomami with spicy cashew and lemon vinaigrette. The taste was really good—definitely one of the better spots to try vegan salads. However, the kale portion felt a bit too much and overpowered the rest of the flavors. A little balance would make it even better!

The salads here are very tasty! I like that you can customize and that there is such a good range of healthy options. Some things as suggestions: the tables are all wobbly. Its hard to eat and my water kept almost spilling. The floor and tables are also usually dirty (although clean today). Its very off putting to have to clean up somebody elses food and to see the food on the floor around you. Lastly because the bread is precut, its stale. Im sure its fresh daily but cutting in the AM means by the PM its a bit hard and not as good to eat. I wish the cafes were a bit better tended to. Its also annoying that you have to ask for a cup for water likes its school or something! The water filter needs to be changed, the water tastes like a pool. Anyway, other than the above, its great 👍

It was an ok experience. The miso salad was a bit salty for my taste and as for COVID 19 safety regulations, I didn't really see it. There are these blocks that are placed on the table to indicate it was cleaned but I could clearly see the table a bit dirty from left over food particles so it had to be wiped away for us to use it. Employees don't wear masks when grabbing the ingredients for your food. I will give it another chance and get some other salad but I won't go out of my way to come here any time soon.
Found a small green worm in my salad. I have been here before but never found a problem with my food. I would wash the vegetables better.
Sweetgreen is next to the Trader Joe's that we shop at. We have driven by Sweetgreen many times as we come and go from Trader Joe's, so we finally decided to give it a try !!! Here is the verdict: Customer service was great, we ordered the "Caramelized Garlic Steak" and the "Miso Glazed Salmon". We both had wild rice and white rice The garlic steak was good and tender. The salmon was ok, I noticed they pulled the small salmon piece from the buffet style tray instead of freshly cooking it. That was a big turn-off for me. We tried the "Ripple Fries" but decided not to order it. Overall, it's not too bad, but unfortunately for us, this was a "One-Time" stop. Next time, we would make that "20-minute" dash to the "Worldwrap" at the Mission College Mercado and buy their "Chimichurri Salmon plate" Let me know what you think !!!

Sometimes overcooked wild rice and beef here! It is roughly a 1/3 chance the wild rice and/or beef is overcooked and hardened in the Sunnyvale location. I have been ordering from this and Santa Clara location for hundreds of times, the new Santa Clara location never had this problem. Especially the rice, sometimes so hard the teeth hurts. Plz fix.
Harvest Bowl was Heavy on the Kale. It taste super healthy, just missing more tang. I wish it had more Apple (pretty light on Apples). The Basalmic was Ok, maybe tiny bit salty so I put less Basalmic. I wish this salad had a tiny bit Iceberg or some type of lettuce since so heavy on the Kale. Overall taste Super Healthy but I think some of the dressings are salty which cause me to put less dressing. I wish Sweet Green offer just a regular Vinegar & Oil ( like italian dressing). I ordered Guacamole Greens for Dad ( comes with Chicken). It seem to be more delicious with Avocado, Tomato, Pickled Onion, Shred Cabbage, Tortilla Chips, & most yummy was Romaine plus Spring Mix. I was not sure I liked the Lime Cilantro Dressing but other people might like it ( maybe just need more lime or some type of tang) so I got the Apple Vinegarette which might have needed more tang. It had a layer of Oily stuff on top maybe heavy on Oil, just needed more Vinegarette. So the guy gave me extra other sauces. He gave me one extra Miso (Ok, but all dressings need some type of tang). And I used the basalmic for my Dad's Guacamole since he did not seem to like the Oily Apple Vinegarette. Again, the dressings just need a plain old fashioned Italian ( even need the type you get from store). The guy seem to be service the front all by himself. He did a great job, but maybe he need a little help ( dont know) He did let me try the Cilantro Lime Dressing. Overall, to improve the food ( maybe i forgot to try Green Goddess and i should have tried that) we just need one more dressing. One dressing like some regular Italian with lots of Vinegar & one slightly sweet dressing. The Basalmic that came with the Harvest just seem slightly salty and I dont remember normal Balsamic being salty ( I need to eat more Salad in my life so I dont know if I am the best judge of all Salads) The Harvest Salad just needed more tang or just more apples or something. They do have variety of Juice Lemonade, Hibiscus, Apple Pomegranate, & some type of Green Kale juice which taste very gingery. I got plain Apple Juice for Dad ( the cheapest) but not sugary enough. It had a refreshing apple flavour but was kid's juice that had less sugar.

Really disappointed with the service at this Sweetgreen. The employee serving us was visibly impatient and unfriendly from the beginning, even though we hadn’t asked anything. The attitude alone made the experience unpleasant.
I have ordered sweetgreen more than 30 times from New York to California. I was always a fan but now I change my mind due to the recent order on Oct 21 in Sunnyvale store. I was intended to pick up my Miso Salmon bowl on 12:15pm, so I placed the order in advance, but my team at work suggested to have lunch together so I didn’t pick up my order on time. What I think at that time was picking up late should be fine, as food only goes cold or not fresh but will not disappear. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the store in Sunnyvale at 1:40pm, my meal was not on the rack. I turned to the store assistant and asked about the issue. I showed her the order number and she responded in a it reluctant tone that “We can redo it for you but One Time Only”. She felt not sorry for my order being took by other people and sounds like i should feel bad, but Why? I don’t understand how sweetgreen trained the employees to handle this situation. As I said, if I picked up 1.5 hours late, the food goes cold, but should not disappear. It’s okay if sweetgreen doesn’t have arranged anyone to supervise the pickup line. But this is based on sweetgreen’s trust in customer and should be responsible if any loss caused by this. I have ordered from sweetgreen since 2023 and most of them are delivery or pick up orders. This is the first time I realized how bad their in-store service is. Even a small unexpected situation can turn into a worse experience.
I had a disappointing experience at Sweetgreen recently. While I’ve always appreciated their fresh ingredients and healthy options, this visit was far from ideal. I found a bug in my food, which was both unsettling and unacceptable. I immediately informed the staff, and while they did offer to refund my order, it wasn’t for the full amount. Considering the circumstances, I expected a more thorough resolution. While I understand that mistakes happen, finding a bug in my meal significantly impacted my trust in their quality control. It’s unfortunate because I’ve enjoyed their food in the past, but this experience has left me hesitant to return. Proper handling of customer concerns goes a long way, and in this case, it fell short.
I definitely love sweetgreen, but this location specifically has inconsistent portions for online orders. Some stuff is very responsible, but some just miss read items. I have experienced the same issues multiple times. I add photos as comparison for the same customized salads I ordered from different day. I ordered two leafy vegetables as my two major bases, but for the photo 2 there only has one base, and much less portion for other items.

I wish I saw the reviews before but wow the service was horrible for the prices they’re charging. Got the harvest bowl and there were literally two tiny pieces of chicken in it. Barely any toppings, skimped on the base too. Won’t be coming back. The woman’s attitude was the worst part.. there was nobody else ordering behind me when I went but she was rushing so fast and staring at me with a frown. This isn’t a cheap food stand so I’m surprised. Better to honestly just get the salads at Trader Joe’s or make your own. I had to ask her to add the bread too. Don’t know why she was being cheap with me for no reason. I saw the other workers filled up more but they also had such a nasty presence and speak zero English which isn’t appropriate for customer service jobs.

I formerly held a favorable opinion of Sweetgreen; however, my recent experience was markedly unsatisfactory. Regrettably, I encountered an issue where I discovered three human hairs within my salad plate. Consequently, I have decided not to patronize this chain of establishments in the future. My disappointment is profound.
I will NEVER EVER order from this awful place again. Food is ok, but forget it if you get delivery and they forget an ingredient. It’s not possible to get ahold of them. I just went to every single option on their phone menu and not a single one connects you to a real person. They are supposed to be open for another hour still and there is no way to reach them to let them know they forgot an extremely important ingredient. RICE!!! In a RICE BOWL!!!! How do you forget to add RICE in a RICE BOWL?!?! The receipt even says it’s supposed to be there and there’s not a single grain. I’m pissed, and now I can’t reach them. Customer care team?! What a joke! There’s nobody even there!!!
WARNING! They're closed by the health department because of INSECT/RODENT infestation! They have a worker standing out front blocking the health inspection post lying to customers saying it's closed due to electrical issues! I happened to take a picture when he opened the door for the inspector to come in to take another look.
I’ll always remember Sunnyvale location’s staff as pinchpennies!😩 My family and I are huge fans of sweetgreen and always order the same Harvest bowl wherever we could find it. Everywhere I get a LARGE portion. Everywhere except Sunnyvale!!! I gave them several chances, I ordered online and on the site, no matter, they keep giving all of us, three adults, less than elsewhere. So, we decided whether Sunnyvale cut off their budget or they have a really bad management, totally customer-unfriendly. Huge disappointment, Sunnyvale! Never return again though this is the closest location 😫 Below you can compare a portion from Sunnyvale (bottom) vs. from MTV (top).
Very disappointing experience. An employee named Jaqueline yelled at me in front of everyone for no reason while I was picking up a DoorDash order. She told me to wait outside and refused to give me the order, forcing me to cancel. I am also a regular customer, and this treatment was unacceptable.
Ordered chicken avocado ranch bowl and what I received had no chicken and green goddess dressing 💀. It also had no sweet potato and “pickled” onions which were just raw. They literally messed up almost half the ingredients of a salad bowl. Insane.
Salmon was horrible. Overcooked. They are deceptive in that they have a bunch of add on items like salmon for $7.95 or blue cheese for $1.50 but don’t label those items with a price. I’m not going back. It used to be better.
I ordered to go and this is what I got, they just put things together and I have to mix them all by myself, they didn’t even slice the avocado. With almost 30 dollars for a salad bowl this is not the experience I expected, not to mention they were late for my pickup time.

⭐ 1/5 The management here is really disappointing. They don’t know how to handle customers at all. The waiting time is very long for everyone, not just me. It feels like they don’t value our time. Another thing I noticed — communication is difficult because they don’t speak English clearly, so they don’t understand what customers are asking for. The whole place felt unprofessional, more like a food truck setup instead of a proper restaurant. Definitely needs improvement in management, customer service, and communication.
I'm an Uber driver. I came to Sweet green Sunnyvale to pick up an order. The employee said it would take 20 to 30 minutes to prepare. After a while, I said I needed to use the washroom. Please give me the washroom code. He flatly refused. I want to know. Don't you provide a washroom for the driver?
My first time visit. Food it above average but horrible service. I ordered a protein "plate". Apparently it was one new employee who didn't know but use a "bowl" and put salad in (I realized later). After another employee corrected his mistake, one female employee came and asked me to pay extra money for the "bowl" or order a different item. I was completely confused. Finally I understood "plate" is different to "bowl" so I said why don't you give me what I ordered. Then the female employee looks unhappy and restarted what I ordered. Why to blame your customer if you made a mistake ? why to force me to pay extra money or order what I didn't want ? That is horrible service and nonsense !! Won't come to this place again ..
