JD at Danzer's is praised for generous portions and friendly service. Many enjoy the German-inspired dishes like the Reuben and Schnitzel. Some experienced slow delivery or inconsistent food quality (pizza, fries).

I hadn't been to Danzers in years, but I'm glad I rediscovered this place! Seriously delicious German Food with generous portions. Our server, Shelly was pleasant, and on top of things, even though they were short staffed. We will definitely be back to this gem of a restaurant conveniently located close to home!
We found Danzer's on a cold, snowy night. It was late, we were starving, and they were open. The food was AMAZING!!! Traditional German fair including excellent schnitzel and a variety of German sausages and side (the spaetzle and warm potato salad were excellent!), as well as breads and (of course) BIER!!! Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean, well decorated, and inviting. We will definitely be back to Danzer's next time we are in the Syracuse area!
I have gone to danzers since I was little and the new owner (who my dad knew from another place) is very personable and has even made an item that was on the original menu just for my dad. So far, everything has been delicious, but I recommend the Ruben casadilla.
One of the best bar & restaurant in Syracuse area. Arrived in Syracuse almost lately at night in our trip to Canada and Decided to go there before going to motel, ordered one of their pizza, wife and kids really liked it. Restaurant has unique design and atmosphere, definitely will be back
I was here about 6 years ago. I ordered a reuben with the red sauerkraut. Hands down the best I've ever had anywhere in the country. I think about this place all the time. One day I will get back to have another.
Haven't been in years but was delighted with the remodel. I had the Ruben egg rolls-huge & delicIous- shared with a friend. My hot pastrami sandwich was very good. I prefer my bread toasted but forgot to tell our waitress. Plan to return more often.
This was the second time I went to Danzers for a sauerbraten dinner since the new owners opened. The red cabbage was definitely better actually it was perfect don't change a thing on that! The sauerbraten was not sour enough, most of the meat was tender, a few pieces could have been more tender. The gravy was a perfect consistency, it and the meat, just need more sour. I would say follow the recipes that the original danzer owners left you 😊 I was not a fan of the German potato salad, the flavor was ok but the whole potato's do not work, they were too hard and hard to eat, should be sliced🤷🏼 I never received the garlic knots or the side salad. The entree came out, I didn't bother saying anything because at that point it was too late, I didn't get charged so it was fine...I haven't given up, I will try again because I love it so much and 🤞it will be better.
I've ordered here since they re-opened under new ownership recently at least 20 times. Everytime has been delivery except for once I went in. The delivery option is the main reason we started ordering Jd's after receiving one of their flyers in the mail. (We don't have a car and often need to pay in cash.)Usually we get a pizza and hot wings. Had the chicken Parm with salad a few times. Their side salad is so good! The freshest little tomatoes on it I've ever had, every time (I don't know how it's even possible), Greek olives, cucumbers and the lettuce all very fresh. I'm addicted to the mozzarella sticks (the perfect snack craving). Inside the restaurant is a big space with plenty of seating, a bar with tv's, authentic German decor, a juke box. Will continue to order. *It's also worth mentioning they have a party deal on a huge pizza and wings for a much more affordable price than any place around! Highly recommend you use them for your next party or gathering.
Very good experience, nice atmosphere. I got the "Big Reuben," it was very good, but it did have a good amount of Sour Kraut. The sour kraut is very good but is kind of shocking if you aren't expecting it. All the food was great!
Food was delicious! Service was great! Big Red Reuben was the best ! We are repeat customers for sure 😀 We returned for another visit! Dinner again was exceptional! Thanks for keeping up the recipes and traditions we expect....Reubens were to die for..! We understand you're short staffed like most of the country but everyone stepped in to help and the it was worth it ! 5 Stars!!!
The restaurant is different from the times I went there nearly 30 years ago. Nonetheless, the current owners serve large portions. More than that, the Reubens still taste great.
Great drinks and food. Bartender very attentive. Came on a Sunday night right before close and got a delicious Rueben and my husband got the spaghetti and meatballs. The Rueben was just how they used to make it when it was Danzers! Highly recommend. And they have the TV on for Sunday Football games.
Love this place ❤️.. im in there every Wednesday with my man joe and his uncle Horace ❤️
Very cozy and warm atmosphere, and our waitress was very kind and considerate. Options maks it feel mostly like an American pizza pub since the new ownership, but not many German restaurants reside in Syracuse, making Danzer's a worthwhile place for a unique experience. Some food was pretty sour for my taste, and the potato skins were a bit overloaded with american cheese, but it's not like I'm accustomed to this type of food so I still have much respect for it
Forgot my loaded fries, but definitely hooked it up with the pizza toppings, so no harm no foul. Great food, speedy delivery. If you've got the munchies give 'em a try.
This is our go to place to order food for our nonprofit. Their menu has a nice variety. They also have specials like 2 party pizzas for a great price.
Popped in for an early dinner, the Reuben on Dark Rye with Fries & Pickle was everything it should be and a little more. They did not skimp on the Meat, Russian Homemade Sauce was perfect with the hot red sauerkraut, crisp pickle and freshest fries I've ever had. Fantastic and accommodating waitress, would surely go again!
I ordered a Philly cheesesteak wrap , and being born and raised in Philly I must say that was one of the most delicious cheesesteaks I’ve had out here !!! And the waitress was a doll 🥰 loved my experience can’t wait to come back !!!!
I would like to start by saying I do not review often, but this required a review. Tonight I went to Danzer's with my family for my 30th birthday. The food and service was beyond amazing. The host made us feel welcome and placed us in the care of a server that made the dinner even more delightful. The food was cooked very well and came out very fast! The server is personalable and you can see she cares about her job. Many companies have struggled with service due to COVID, but this is place does not. I will be a returning cosutmer and will be very vocal about our outstanding experience. Thank you Danzer's!
Best thin crust pizza I have ever had. Light and crisp, ingredients taste fresh, just the right amount of cheese and sauce. Still has the German pub atmosphere too. Highly recommend
Yesterday I placed an order that there was some delivery problems with, well today Sam(I hope the name is correct) called me personally to rectify the situation. I really appreciate the fact that he seems to really care about his customers and made things right. Thank you Sam. I and my family thanks you.
This is a good local bar/ restaurant that is in a quiet area of Cuse. I love the the German influence on the place. The beer and food selections are great. They serve several German beers as well as several American beers that have a German influence (ex. Von Trapp brewing from Vermont). I would absolutely recommend this place!
First time here, and I'm so glad we came! One of us had the reuben, which was huge and delicious! Tried some onion rings and potato pancakes, both crispy and good. Only complaint, the potato pancakes lacked flavor. Maybe add some onion powder? The grilled chicken sandwich was tender and tasty. Also took most of that home for another day. The NY strip steak was the special of the day, came with grilled onions and mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and some au jus. Got one to go and let me tell you, it was well worth the price. Food and sodas came to 85 bucks. The service was excellent. Our server managed the entire dining room, a private party in the back, and even helped in the kitchen. Definitely left her a well-deserved tip! Menu is extensive, so plan on many trips to this hidden gem!
Today was my first time here, and I'm definitely planning to come back! Our server was friendly and super attentive, refilling beverages without even being asked, which always stands out to me. 🙂 I ordered the Broccoli Cheddar soup and German Potato Pancakes, and enjoyed both. I have no complaints, but will say that just a little bit of salt and pepper on the potato pancakes would have made them absolutely perfect, but when you're having them with apple sauce and sour cream you barely even notice and it wasn't a bummer to me. I'll have to have my mother review the Reuben Eggrolls I'm bringing home, though I'm sure those are going to be amazing as well. 😁 Inside of the establishment looks great and was tidy and clean. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you haven't already!
Visited here during a short stay in Syracuse. The staff member are very warm, jovial and kind person who made my time there even more memorable. We ordered Loaded Fries, Burger, Wings and Pizza. That along with drinks brought our total to little over $30!!! What a win!!! Quality delicious food, great customer service, comfortable atmosphere at affordable prices! They also do German food here for those looking for that. Highly highly highly recommend though…this place is great and I can’t wait to return!!
The food portions are generous, which is wonderful! We paid roughly $ for an appetizer and 2 entrees, and got enough food for 4 people! The taste was really great as well! I ordered a calzone and my wife got the sea food platter which where awesome! And the customer service was awesome too! It was 1 waitress taking care of the entire dining room and she was fantastic! There is a lot of pizza burger and wings on the menu as well as lots of German food. 10/10 would recommend making the stop and will be back!
We are extremely happy to see this restaurant restored to its former glory. Just before they closed a few years ago the restaurant had really slid. The new owner has done a wonderful job restoring the exterior and interior of the restaurant. She has also done a amazing job of restoring the menu as well. The Rubens and hamlets are just as good if not better than they used to be. The potato pancakes, wings, and french onion soup are just as delicious as I remember them before the restaurant begin to deteriorate. We do miss our combination platter appetizer, but other than that this restaurant is better than before in my humble opinion.
My wife and I had a great meal here, I got the Big Red Reuben and my wife the Schnitzel. The German Potato Salad was pretty good, I prefer my salad with a bit more of a vinegar taste but it was decent. The Reuben though was perfect, this is the best Reuben in the area. My wife loved her Schnitzel, she said it held up well compared to what she had in Germany. Overall the new Danzer’s is great, the decor is well done and they have a good selection of German beers. We will definitely be back.
The best Rueban's hands down! Edit 2025... new ownership now, I LOVED the pizza they now offer. It was thin and crispy and tasted amazing. I had the garlic brocoli and added ricotta on it as well. So good!
They still have great pizza and great wings i highly recommend this place
There were very few customers when we visited on Friday night. We had their fried haddock dinner ($9.95). It was crispy and delicious. The serving was generous and frankly was underpriced. Two weeks previously we had the reuben and hamlet sandwiches and thoroughly enjoyed them. There was a small group at the bar who were obviously having a good time. Unfortunately they were extremely loud which was very annoying.
It has been all redone. It is very clean and neat inside with lots of interesting German cultural artifacts. The atmosphere as a whole is great. If you're looking for a larger selection of genuine German beers this place is great. If you love German food you won't find a better place in the area.
Danzer's recently reopened after the old owner decided to close. The restaurant and recipes were bought by the current owner. The place has been renovated but maintains the original charm. We had the potato pancakes as an appetizer. Not quite as good as they were in the past. My corned beef on rye was tasty. My husband had a red Rubin that he enjoyed as well. We were seated quickly and the waitress was attentive. We will go back again.
Good food but it's not the same as the old Danzer's. They do have a great selection of beer, which is a saving grace! I thought the red rubin sandwich that I ordered was a hot sandwich, it was cold in the middle. I may go back for the dinner menu in the interest of fairness because this used to be a very good restaurant. Did I mention the good German beer selection?
Potato pancakes were great. Crispy outside and light and fluffy inside. Schnitzel was really good with a great crust. Service was good. I didn't feel rushed. Expanded menu with some nice traditional choices
I tried. I gave this place several chances. My first visit with Phyllis was okay. She seemed confused, flustered but friendly. Second visit a different bartender, also friendly. Tried to get takeout one night at 830 they said they were closed, despite poster hours. Came by this past Monday, closed. Stopped in tonight, 2 bartenders and still never got attention past the first beer. I just don't get the impression that service is important at all.
Great place for gathering with friends and family to share a small, medium or large pizza with a cold pitcher of beer. I highly recommend the pollo chicken and gyro pizza for a change in flavor. Amazing selection of sandwiches and I would recommend Riverdale Famous on a large sub roll. The hamburgers are made to order and would recommend the JD burger with Pastrami it's a totally delicious taste to your buds than bacon. Happy hour weekly 3 to 8 daily. Sometimes there is a live band twice a week.
We went there the opening weekend. Had a great time, and the food was awesome. I got the classic Reuben and my wife got the bratwurst. Seated quickly and the food came quick too, even tho there were a lot of cars there so we worried about seats. The only issues we had were with the beer. It WAS the first weekend, but they were out of a few beers and didn't have a beer list with descriptions we could see. Also the waitress didn't really know what the beers were or how to pronounce them. I'm sure that's been taken care of, but I'd also hope there are more German beers. I think there's a lot of opportunities there (the beers we had weren't bad, but I might have chosen something different than a wild guess after looking up the brand with my phone). Definitely will go back!
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, right at 2:00pm, right when they open. Nice place, was previously strictly a German restaurant. Now they serve pizza, calzones, sandwiches, quesadillas etc. I zeroed in on the few German selections as they were renowned for their German fare years ago. I inquired about the Bavarian Sampler which is various German meats. I was informed that they had none of the meats included for this menu item. I then opted for the Sauerbraten entree, which includes either spätzle or fried egg noodles. I chose the egg noodles. Also included was hot German potato salad and red cabbage. My meal also included a garden salad which was artfully presented. Everything tasted delicious, while the potato salad had the consistency of soup. The portions were enormous, and I brought a lot of it home. We did have to contend with a number of house flies buzzing around the table. Which I thought unusual since it is mid-October. Our server was a delight, attentive and receptive to our questions on menu items. The big question... would I eat there again? Yes! But I would bring a flyswatter.
Food was great. Service was very slow and my kids were hangry, which made it seem even longer.
It was Father's day and we went out for an early dinner. There was parking all around the restaurant. We sat down right away. Alicia was our server and she was very friendly and pleasant. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu, it was fantastic. I knew it was going to be a wait for that so I ordered the fried Reuben to start. The Reuben was really good as well. My bride ordered they jagerschnitzel, she enjoyed it. There is a bar, Lotto game tv going on. The place looks clean but lacks ambiance of any sort. There is an ATM right next matre'd stand.
Just had a couple drinks at the bar. No music playing. Bartender spent most of the time chatting with regulars at other end of bar. We had to request her attention to get another drink. Didn't want to bother her to order food. We left.
The food is okay , the service is good , friendly mostly . Unique atmosphere.
Because Danzer's just reopened, they are still learning the routine and the kitchen was behind in filling the orders. Also, the place was packed. The initial wait time they gave us was 25 minutes but it was an hour and ten minutes before the food came. After a bit of grumbling, the manager was very attentive and took our order at the bar, but it was still some time before my group was seated. The food was excellent overall, although I prefer my salad not to be drenched in dressing. In the end it was worth the wait. I am sure the service will speed up as they get the kinks worked out.
Maybe it's because it was lunch time, but it was pretty cold inside the building. My food was a good portion, but I didn't really care for it. I will give it another try and maybe get some pizza as I used to enjoy their pizza at the other location in Jamesville.
I haven't been to Danzers in years. Thought I'd stop and try out my two old favs, sauerbraten and apple fritters. The sauerbraten was tasty. The meat was soft (three in an order about palm size steaks). Lots of noodles .. however, some were crunchy/ and a few looked burnt. Though generally, it all tasted good. The fritters weren't at all what I remembered. The coating was more like bread crumbs than pastry...my husband said there was a faint fishy taste. Perhaps fried in the same oil?? The restaurant itself was rather dark and worn out. I think I'd order the sauerbraten again but we tossed the fritters after one taste. The sides of pickled red cabbage and potatoe salad/vinegar were very good. Service was very friendly. The wait was half an hour after the order was placed.
My family dined at the restaurant last week. The food was good, but we left with some service concerns. After speaking to the owner/manager, our concerns and questions were immediately addressed and resolved. Danzers is very convenient for pre and post games at the SU Dome and we will be definitely going back!
Well the food was (Cordon Bleu) good. But the wait for it was 1hr 8 min I almost left without it. This was my first time there and I probably won't return. If you are anticipating an authentic feel well don't you are going to be disappointed. The staff is pleasant and polite and it is clean, just expect a wait if you want dinner.
Visited again Friday 5pm. Not awful busy. Hostess sat us and brought us drinks after 3 visits to understand the drink order. Margarita not Martini. Bartender had to come to table to understand the order. Waitress finally showed up, took order asked for ranch dressing and told server that my husband is allergic to blue cheese. Server was not seen again for quite a while. Asked another server for more drinks. About 25 minutes later had to ask again for drinks. After an hour and no food and our server no where to be found, we asked another server where our food was. Someone else delivered our food. Our server brought Blue cheese. I told her again my husband was allergic to it and please bring ranch. Finall she brings another dressing.....Blue cheese again. I explain again that my husband is allergic to blue cheese and it would send him to the hospital! She blames the cook tells us she is sorry she is just so busy, and that she is doing the best she can. We didn't see her again. Had to ask someone else for togo boxes and a check. After another long wait we got up and went to Hostess stand. There sat our server. We asked her for our checks. We went to the bar to pay. Our server came over and askes us If there was a problem? I didn't answer her. I am sorry she was so overwhelmed that she couldn't do her job. I worked in the service industry for over 30 years. This was unacceptable service. Hopefully JDs at Danzers will be able to rise above the poor service and shine. The location is excellent. This restaurant can go from empty to overflowing in a blink of an eye. They need to be willing to have staff ready and able to serve the needs of their clients. Love the food and hopping the best for their success! We will try again 4/2025 Been ordering wonderful food for weeks. Today they severed me rotten rancid roast beef. Smelled so bad! Couldn't even eat.
Ordered online. The estimated wait time was 35-45 min, got mines in about 50-55 min, no real complaints there, being that it was lunch time. However the menu states fries comes with all sandwiches, which I did not get. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, which in fact was pretty good, but was on regular sliced bread (no bun) and again no fries or chips. I also ordered a side of coleslaw which was the size of a side of mayo smh (very small) should have been complimentary. So after an $12 amd soke change sandwich 1.50 coleslaw, tax, tip, and $3 delivery fee, which I live literally around the corner from the place, I paid $20 for just a sandwich. My tip to them at least add a complimentary side. Other than that sandwich and micro slaw was pretty good.
Our server, Matt was excellent. The food was only warm. The potatoes were too salty, French onion soups bowl was hot, but soup was luke warm. Small portions and quite pricey. Not very impressed. We've been there twice now... Our first time and last time.
I've been twice in the past 2 weeks, once for lunch (2 adults 1 child) and once for dinner (2 adults). On both occasions we were sat right away. The food was good and servers friendly, however the service itself was painfully slow. For dinner it took us over an hour to get our food. And in that time there was a group of 8-10 seated near us that were there when we arrived, and got their food as we were leaving. I enjoy both the food and the atmosphere, but the wait would have me seriously reconsider how often I go.
I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak and French fries for my husband who is in the hospital across the street. He ate everything and said it was fine -- not great but fine and certainly better than hospital food. We used to go to Danzer's back in the day and the best thing on the menu was always the potato pancakes so I was looking forward to having them but apparently they are no longer on the menu. So I ordered the onion rings because I'm always up for onion rings. Unfortunately when I got to the hospital, a five minute drive away, they were a congealed mess and completely inedible. That was a big disappointment. I guess I will get the cheesesteak for my husband again if he really wants one but otherwise I doubt I will go back.
First I’ll say the mixed reviews made me want to try Danzers. I have friends who rave about the place and others who claim the opposite. My experience is one of unique absurdity and ultimately less then satisfactory. The upsurdity was our non-commital waiter let’s call him Pat and his covert way of describing specials and menu items. He would provide little information when questioned about their food. But when pressed he would finally give up the goods but with a modicum displeasure. The food was perhaps their version of serving unexpected and unwanted guests. The fried fish was ok but stay from the open face sandwiches. The rueban egg rolls rocked and my beer was delicious and made me happy. All in all next time I’ll sit at the bar for beer and apps.
Okay menus had no prices on them which I didn't like to start. They seemed high. Our soda was flat which the waiter replaced. My daughter's silverware was dirty when we unwrapped it. Was disappointed that they didn't have beef on weck or a hot roast beef. Settled on chicken finger with garlic parm. Not impressed. Server tried but left unimpressed.considering tye bill was 65.o0 I guess I hoped for more.
Red Reuben was phenomenal, a couple of the beef dishes were good, rest of the food was mediocre. Beers were good. Restaurant was clean, tidy and easy on the eyes. Service was not great. Waited way too long for food, had three different waitresses, reservations were made days before but totally “forgotten” upon arrival by the staff. Not super impressed.
Not what it used to be. The Reuben egg rolls were trash, had no sauerkraut and no Swiss cheese inside. The corned beef (I think) that was inside tastes like…….. canned cat food. Such a weird texture and low quality meat. If they’re going to make them like that I’d just take them off the menu. The ranch at Danzers used to be the best in the ‘cuse, now it tastes like straight up WishBone. The wings were the only good part of the meal. Big and delicious!
This is a sad story. I frequented Danzer's on Ainsley Drive 8 to 10 times a year since it opened at its current location in the 70's. When my father-in-law moved to town in the late 90's, that increased to about 25 visits per year as he loved the restaurant. I felt a keen sense of loss when the restaurant closed a few years ago, and rejoiced when it reopened. I was committed to supporting the new owners, but after three disappointing meals, I've given up on the hope that the original quality would be maintained. One positive I would mention is that the quality of service is very good.
When they first opened I was optimistic this would be a great place. The last two week however have proven otherwise. If you order out from here it’s great. The food has always been very good. The new bartender they have is just horrible. Zero customer service ability. Too busy talking to coworkers than seeing if people need a drink. Plus both times got orders wrong because, god forbid someone writes things down to make sure it’s right then gets mad when the food comes out completely wrong and you want things fixed. Let’s also not forget it’s been over a week with no TVs. How are you expecting people to come on game days with no TV? Either the owner is too cheap to get things fixed or doesn’t care about clientele. I want this place to succeed because it’s great food in a perfect location for where we live but certain decisions are killing it. Let’s hope things get fixed.
Very disappointed in this experience. My first time at Danzer's was a week before the new/current owners took over. The food at that time was great with a menu full of ethnic German foods. Since that time I have been excited to come back to try some of the other options. The facility was closed for much longer than expected, and I finally talked my wife into coming in to try it. Big mistake! Only 2/3 German items left on the menu, which has transitioned over to a typical pizza and wings joint (because God knows we need another one of those!). I had the sauerbraten, which was served with over fried egg noodles, instead of spaetzle. My wife ordered a Reuben sandwich on rye. My food came out first and then we waited (and waited) for my wife's sandwich. It finally appeared though the meat was not fully heated through. We also had to wait some more on her french fries 😕 which didn't appear until I was finished with my meal. Only 3 German beers on tap as well, replaced by usual IPA and similar selections. Anyway, sorry to say this place is NOT on my list of spots to try again. Hi
Late lunch, made later by slooooow service. Turkey Reuben was nothing special. By the time companion leisurely finished a bowl of clam chowder, my sandwich arrived.
Very cozy and cute little local restaurant with a homey German pub/tavern feel. I was kind of expecting some good German food. I didn’t get that all. Don’t get me wrong, The people are super friendly but I just wish the “German” food tasted better. The potato pancakes were yummy!! The sausages were kinda cold and it’s just wasn’t working for me. And they didn’t have any Sauerbraten left on a Saturday night at 6pm. A little disappointing..oh yeah,The pizza was great too!!
The group I was with wanted to eat here, I have never been so was excited to try something new however was very disappointed. The Bratwurst was very good, the fries were disappointing, they were not crisp, they were soggy limp and seemed like they were precooked and left , the chips were good no seasoning however . The waiter was not on top of things, he never came back to ask if everything was OK, we had to flag him down for refills on drinks . He had his attention on the customers at the bar and the barmaid and wasn't concerned about his tables. Do not think I be returning.
Terrible,German potato salad was like soup. Got the Bavarian platter was burnt hotdogs.
So first time order and I was not happy there chicken wings was nasty… there pizza sauce taste sweet and the cheese wasn't cheesy and it wasn’t hot when he got it. The 2 liter was also hot. This place was not worth the price of the food.
Was so excited for this but have been nothing but disappointed and they really had a good opportunity here. We came on opening day and we’re given paper plates, and it was a mess. We chalked it up to date one, they just weren’t prepared. Since then it has been nothing but hours of wait time when it’s not busy, a very rude and miserable bartender who messes up orders, doesn’t attend to guests and is rude and condescending. The fact that they don’t have TVs, can’t keep up on service, and it takes half an hour to get 1 drink and not offered refills or another round is absurd. It’s been weeks since they claim the TVs were coming but you can’t even go hang out and watch games. I hope the owner sees these reviews and turns it around because this could be a goldmine done right. Managers on duty, staff training, bartender training, efficiency and accuracy would go a LONG way.
First day open under J D management 08/26/23. Ordered the big red Reuben, extra toasted to share and an Ithaca flower IPA. Was served a Reuben with sauerkraut and not an IPA. Challenged the beer and barkeep assured me she poured from the right tap. Sent the sandwich and beer back and ordered the fiddlehead which was definitely what it was. The sandwich came back quickly as a big red Reuben but there was bits of sauerkraut still in it and not toasted. Waitress confessed she saw the cook scrape the sauerkraut off our original sandwich and throw in the red cabbage. They brought us French fries which we did not order and charged us for them. Bill came with charge for the sandwich included. I advised would not pay for the sandwich. Bill was adjusted accordingly. Did not do the Danzers legacy any justice.
This last visit was for the books and not in a good way. Our dinner seemed like it was made from the frozen aisle of Walmart. I haven't had food from there but that's c what I'd imagine it would taste like. It was my partners birthday. No flavor. It lacked care and attention to detail. This should taste like it came from Grandma's kitchen. Don't waste your money/time here. Not worth it at all.
This place is not going to last. We were there on a Saturday night. There were 2 other parties besides ours and a few ppl at the bar drinking. Service was pretty much non-existant...both at the table and from the bartender. Incorrect food orders, incorrect drink orders as well as incorrect bills. Also...$15 for a sandwich...no chips...no pickles...nothing...just a sandwich! No prices on the menu?!?! What?? Too bad, definitely NOT the Danzers of the past. Very disappointed. Will NOT be back.
I would have done zero stars but it wouldn't let me.
I ordered on the too good to go app hours ahead and then i drive there and it’s completely closed and i wasted my money and gas on getting nothing. Very disappointed.
First walking in it smelled like a bathroom. Upon entering the pub the whole place was pretty unclean. We were the only ones there and it took a long time for our order to be taken and for our food to come out. The food was bland at best. I would never recommend this place to anyone. We ordered wraps and fries. The chicken didn’t taste right at all and the wraps fell apart and were not cut. The bathrooms are filthy as well. Please avoid this establishment.
I had ordered three times from this restaurant The first time the food was really good so I continued to order second time the food tasted old and wasn't fresh gave them another chance and the third time the food was burnt and the food came an hour and a half when it was supposed to be 45 minutes I didn't receive a call from the restaurant I actually had to call the restaurant two times to find out where my order was They told me my food was on the way and didn't receive my food until 25 minutes later. Will not be ordering from this restaurant again especially that they're not cheap You should get good quality food and the restaurant should be more professional and make sure anything that leaves their doors is good for the customer.
i was working nearby and wanted to try someplace new, came in at lunch time. not super busy but understaffed at the time. i grabbed some slices of pizza to which i was assured they were warm and fresh. so i purchased my slices and a soda. heres where it went south, the soda was not allowed to settle and as such was missing quite a bit when the carbonation actually settled, i asked about bluecheese and the server said it would be 1$ so i gave cash and started to wait, while the server helped every other person before coming back having forgot that i wanted bluecheese, i figured ok while i wait for her to NOW go get it, i would try a bite of pizza, at which time i realized they were cold, so the server also lied in the 1st place as it shouldnt have been that cold that fast if they had been fresh. so i asked for a refund stating i still hadnt gotten my bluecheese and that the slices were cold, to which i was told they could be heated back up but it would take 15 minutes, and i insisted i wanted my refund to which i was told would take 20 minutes. eventually after wasting most of my lunch time, i got my refund but she never returned my dollar. would not recommend
Was seated. Not greeted for ten minutes. Walked out. The outside is falling apart.
Ordered for delivery at 6:30, called at 7:30 on hold for 30 minutes and they stated it would be another 25 minutes before they get here.. Never again!!!!
Really bummed out about our experience. 30 minutes for a server to acknowledge us after we were sat, another 20 to get drinks to the table. And an hour to get a couple of appetizers. Never got refills on our drinks. There was a loud fight going in in the kitchen, cooks using the restroom still wearing their kitchen aprons… food was not even mediocre. We won’t be back. Don’t be fooled by all the accolades on the walls or on the internet, i think they were for the original establishment not the current one. Also, no prices listed on the menu. Just feels really sus in my opinion.
My waitress was not attentive. The hostess served us more than she did. It was mid afternoon and only two other parties. We asked several times for items from our waitress and nothing. The food was just ok. I had a cheese steak and fries. The fries were very good. Atmosphere seemed dated. I expected more with the name. Though the offerings on the menu are huge. Lots of choices.
Horrible experience on a Saturday afternoon. Heat wasn't working, ignored at the door. Bartender seated us and got us our drink and menu. At last, waitress came over, she was the one at the door by the way on her phone. She had 2 tables beside us, one leaving, one just ordered. She sat up at the front playing on her phone. Waitress finally came over and took our order. That was nice. We waited a while, couldn't find her, went to bar, got second drink. She went to other table told them out of Mac n cheese. Poor things had been waiting with 2 little kids. Very good little kids. They fixed order and we all waited....freezing. should have left at that point. Here come our wings! Dropped off to us, no napkins, or silverware, we asked for blue cheese. I got up and got bar napkins. She csme back, no blue cheese, out. Brought us ranch. Meanwhile. Off to nowhere with phone in hand, still dirty table of six. Bartender must have said something to her, she came to clear table, had to sit down to do it. Epitome of laziness! Our food came, got another beer from bar, not waitress. Food was just Ok. My red Reuben, which was on my mind since I left home thinking of this morning I would give a 4 for, extra $ for fries. Friend got haddock with fries, that was fresh and nice. Asked Bartender for bill and take home containers never saw waitress again until leaving. Paid Bartender, left her the tip, she's the one that waited on us. Sorry to say, we wont be back. By the way. Bill came to $88. Plus tip. For Reuben, haddock, wings and 6 beers! Unbelievable!
Was disappointed that the online menu is different than the in-house one. Was looking forward to sauerbraten sandwich but was told they didn't have it. Only sauerbraten was the $20.00 dinner. The 3 sandwiches were ok. Red Reuben, Reuben and Hamlet. Waitress didn't stop back to check on our food. Also said she couldn't give us separate checks so we had to figure it out.
Not to impressed. It takes a lot for me to send out bad reviews, but this was one of my worst experience in a very long time. I called for a delivery, from the time I ordered until my food was delivered took almost 2 hours. I ordered 2 salads, 2 wraps and a dessert, desert missing. (Did call to get credit for that desert) After a hour and fifteen minutes I called to see what ETA for the food was, I was told the driver left the restaurant 3 min prior and should be here soon, which made sense as we live 3.3 miles away, roughly 9 min. Well, I'm not sure what way the driver went, but it took almost 25 min for him to get here. I know there is some construction going on but 25 minutes to go 3.3 miles is crazy. Anyway, definitely gonna think long and hard before I order delivery again.
We wanted to order hot roast beef with gravy, as per menu ,they dont carry gravy. Then placed order for 2 sandwiches to be delivered, had to call twice,2nd time after an hour,& being left on hold, was told it was being pkg for delivery,,& it would be a few more minutes. It was another 30minutes. Obviously they forgot the order. Never doing business again. The address was 10min away.
I ordered 2 pizzas last night, a supreme and a cheese pizza. The supreme was fine, even tho I requested additional sausage in place of the pepperoni. The cheese pizza was disgusting. It had weird cheese, like feta and no sauce. Really? Never again.
We were very disappointed. Stopped there on our way home from SU game, no one noticed us when we walked in, took more than 2 minutes for someone to greet us. Went to sit down, was told no not there and had to sit in a corner away from everyone. TV were on but nothing on them. Not to add that the sidewalk was not shoveled or salted, especially wirh someone who has a disability prone to falls, it was icy. Definitely will not return.
Terrible. Waited over 2 hours for a delivery. No one answered the phone. I want my money back! Used to use them, but always late. Stick with them negate they were local and friendly. But cold food, no response. Well over three strikes Never again!!!!!@@@
