I got the catfish. It is a 8-10 minute wait because it is keep frozen till ordered. It was great and well worth the wait. I told my wife how good it was and she liked to also. Place is clean and staff friendly. Sweet teal is always great. AAA+++

Best tea in town. 92 cents total 1.00 per cup. Best deal ever. Chicken is good. Corn is good. Cole slaw was fresh. Husband likes gizzards and livers. Fried orka I like the potatoes with gravy. It's all good. Rest rooms are clean. Dining area is clean. Self serve drink area is always clean. Staff is one the spot to help.

Great service as always. Had a sweet girl named Sarah get my order. Everything was so quick. While I sat back and told my daughter stories how her dad and friends use to work there.

I love how their food is not greasy and doesn't leave a after taste in your mouth like other chicken places. They're always super friendly and always ask if you need anything else when handing out your order. I love how even the owners work just as hard as the employees. Sometimes their line may be long in the drive thru but the wait is SO WORTH IT.

The food is typical Chicken Express - very tasty, but not exactly health food. They do have some options on the menu that are health-ier, but if you go to a CE, it's for tenders, gravy, and probably sweet tea. The people here are great, easy to get to know. Food is hot (a must for good tenders and rolls). A great comfort-food, relaxed, small-town fast-food place. The seating area is a bit Spartan, but not uncomfortable. So, when a restaurant fulfills its creed to the t with good food and good service, you gotta give them 5.

Delicious. The white gravy made the meal. The chicken pieces were large, tender and juicy. Mac and Cheese, eeeh. Not particularly good. Employees were very friendly and polite.

They have great fried catfish prepared Southern style in cornmeal only. Pricey, but good. It only comes with two hush puppies though. They're good too, just wish there were at least four given the price of the meal. You can buy more I suppose. But that would drive the price up even higher. As a result I cannot go more than twice a month. But I enjoy the catfish when I do get to stop by.

Decent chicken. I’m usually eating the catfish. Fish can take a bit (10-15 minutes) to prepare but they warn about this when ordering and it makes for a much better product. Service is typically fast, friendly and accurate. My experience has varied pretty widely though across different locations.

I just wanted to leave a shout out for the girl working the drive through. Her name according to my receipt is Jasmine. She provided a super friendly, fast, and efficient drive through experience. I was very pleased and impressed with how courteous she was. Excellent customer service skills! Give that girl a raise!

A very big thank you to Chicken Express in Taylor. We took the Bartlett Lassies volleyball there to eat after we played. They staff greeted us with a smile(behind mask) and took our order for 14 kids and 2 coaches. We got our food in a timely manner and did not have 1 mistake. Then to top it off, the chicken was superb 👌. It was tender and tasty. The corn nuggets were great also. All the kids enjoyed. Great job Chicken Express keep up the good work.

Delicious fried chicken livers with white pepper gravy and corn nuggets were delicious, hot and made fresh. The service at the counter was courteous and speedy. We enjoyed our dinner so much and will return again and again! Bathroom was also decorated nicely and very clean.

Whoever was working the fryer tonight, Monday June 16th was great. I like my okra extra crispy where some would say it's burnt and it was perfect! Also has the chicken livers and a couple were not good. The tea is the best in town! I wish all other restaurants in Taylor would have the water filtration system Y'all have.

Great tenders. Although the tenders are great, don't order online. Online ordering is like ordering off of doordash, it costs more. 3 combos you would buy for about 34 ish dollars jumps to about 41.

Real good fast food at a fair price. I have yet to have a bad, or even mediocre meal here. I love chicken, and eat a lot of it. This is one of my three most frequented fast food chicken stops.

The food was hot and as good as I usually have it. However they were a little bit slow in the Drive-Thru. Made the order had to wait a little bit longer than expected to get the food. They did give me everything I ordered though so that's always a plus to not have something missing.

One of the better fast food places in Taylor, service is good and the food is consistent. The rolls are very good, my wife buys the chicken strips every time, the catfish is good but the tartar sauce not so much.

I can only comment on the food since my son always picks it up on his way home from work. I think its better than the colonel. The hot rolls are delicious although a bit too soft and the chicken is crispy yet still moist. The sides are fast food sides and good enough, better than I expect of fast food. Pricing is decent too.

I would not have a bad report but the chicken was dry and not hot but normally they do a wonderful job.

Three times now they have forgotten to give me ranch that I paid for. I went back the first two times but it's getting annoying always not having it and having to drive back for it.

Everyone is always nice and they don't mess up your order. I've had better chicken but it's worth the value.

The people are very nice although I wish it wasn't all highschool kids because most of the times something is wrong with my order..other than that the food is great!!

Pros: THEIR SWEET TEA IS ALWAYS GREAT! Their store is always clean. They offer many different sides. Their staff is always very nice (minus the managers.) Cons: Even if you're the only customer, there is always a long wait. The management is rude. They've been out of chicken and messed up my order the past two times. The chicken and tenders are a bit dry and too salty. Their fries are often soggy. Most of their sides are pre made and just warmed up or mixed. But that's most restaurants.

It was a good place to chill at while I got my muffler replaced. I like the hot sauce and the gravy. The people were nice. Free refills!

Three stars for fast food is not too bad.. Chicken Express makes some good fries chicken. It reminds me of Kentucky Fried chicken back when it was good. I love the tenders, which I get half spicey and half regular, which is awesome. The baskets and rolls are good too. Service was quick and the people friendly.

I ordered 3 chicken legs and a biscuit. When I finally got home, the chicken legs are tiny, I have never even seen a chicken leg that small before, and charged me around $11. The biscuit was hard, small, and burnt. At least the staff were nice and very fast.

No one in parking lot lights out in dining room although its surprisingly open. Open sign off. Yet 1hr and 30 mins to go. Tenders cold and greasy. Attitude even more so.

I don't know if they were training new people but my order was wrong and chicken was dry. Prices have gone up but service down

Their fry’s use to be fresh crispy fried. And now every time we order from there we get nasty cold fry’s. There corn use to be so nice now it’s hard old corn . Visited 7/24 and will not go back. I ordered a 7-strip meal and my bill was over $18. They even charged me for dipping sauce. Never again. You've lost a customer.

I've been to other Chicken Express facilities, and the fish has always been fabulous. Not so much for this location. On two occasions, the fried catfish was way over cooked for one. Second, the filets were very, very thin. Almost as if they filleted the filets to cut cost.

The chicken is good but I bought 1/2 dozen chocolate chip cookies that were overcooked nearly burnt on the bottom and it ruined the flavor. Unedible. I called and was told to bring the cookies back to get them replaced. I was not up to wasting the gas to make a second trip after just getting home from there only to have them replaced with another set of burnt cookies . I don't want any at all now.

I like Chicken And spread, but I ordered a 6 piece wings with fries, a biscuit and an unsweetened Arnold Palmer, in drive thru, got home with a three piece dark meat, okra, a roll and a sweet Arnold Palmer……at least there is lemonade in the drink

Chicken express used to be spot on. They have increased their prices recently and the last 3x I’ve gone, I’ve been shorted a side with the family meal. I usually order a lot of food but it’s not really worth it anymore. It takes longer for them to turn out the food and the quality has decreased.

Went in on my 30 minute break to get a somewhat big order only to sit there for all 30 minutes of my break and like 4 more minutes to get back to work just to be missing the sauces for my cheese sticks and a chicken piece in one of my meals. I understand you are busy but i though first come first serve was a thing? Guess not in this establishment

Food is OK but service is horrible. Be prepared to repeat your order multiple times and it still be wrong when you get home. You might get home with the correct order 50% of the time.

Only get the star cause it’s the lowest. Three times I have been shorted on my order. The first time I didn’t get my full order I just chalked it up. The second time I called and someone apologized, and asked me to go back for the piece. The third time, I ordered in the lobby, and was told there was a piece of white meat missing so they would sub it with two dark. I agreed. When I got home it was all dark. I called and a gm assured me they would make it right. Gave my info and gave yet to hear anything. If it weren’t for my kids who prefer ce over gc I would never go back due to me feeling ripped off 3 times.

Place stole my card that I payed with and acted like I got it back. They charged me and I signed then when I received my order. I asked for it several times for my card and even got out my own car and looked several times. I noticed from the beginning when I signed I didn’t get my card back. The manager looked harder then the kid that stole my card. I got home dig out everything from my car and nothing. You guys just stole my card and had the courtousy to look at me sideways as you guys didn’t look in my direction as I walked outside your store. Thanks, I’ll contact corporate tomorrow

Rude management. Had to repeat my order 3 times at the ordering speaker. Got my order wrong… the manager brings out the corrected order and says “ you know, that’s why we repeat the order back to you..” well yeah you repeated the wrong order back three times and could not get it right on the 4th. Bad customer service.

I was in the drive thru for over 20 mins.,,if you do not have the main power to operator a drive thru then don’t! I am passing thru Taylor and will ensure I never stop here again..this is the worst service ever! I will share this review with the chamber of commerce also!

Ordered their good homemade tasting chocolate chip cookies today and they gave me prepackaged cookies that tasted like pepperidge farm cookies. What happened to y’all’s chocolate chip cookies? $13 for 12 pepperidge farm is a scam and false advertisement since y’all had oven baked cookies for awhile. People need to know that this location isn’t baking cookies anymore but selling prepackaged cookies that people can buy at the store. Honestly just take it off the menu. Will not be going back ever again

Unbelievably SLOW. We have been in line 20 minutes and have moved 1 car! I can see why they give you your drink and take your money immediately after ordering because otherwise we would be driving to Whataburger!!!!

I am a very "normal" person regardless of my age {50} or my gender {male}, or even and definitely regardless of what race I am {white}... I am from out of town but doing some work in the area.. without driving my car for 2 blocks just to get a couple cups of ice.. to be paid for not asked for... I chose to walk to the store for said ice and arrived {on foot} at 10Pm .. and by the time the car that was in the drive thru pulled away it was 10:03pm.. granted I didn't get there before the 10 o'clock closing time to an order placed before hand. So, I would have accepted if I had been told. Nope too late. .. too bad so sad.. sorry. .. any number of things. Even the possibility that I was told . "2 cups of ice.. no problem that will be $$ paid boom bam got my Ice walked away and had a cool drink... Any and all was acceptable... But what wasn't acceptable to be ignored.. not acknowledged I. The least. Not the tiniest smidge of a glance from not one employee.. had CC I. Hand and show.. like. I have money. I want ice please.. but no.. nothing. And even as an employee came to the window and continued to ignore me, I tried asking him if he was closed at least tell me, so I'm not standing here looking like a fool . And nothing. .. not a nod, wave, gesture, or hell look my way, Never have I been so offended, in my entire life, and 50 years is a long time. You should be ashamed of the representation displayed by your employees tonight, everyone deserves to be treated with a little respect, dignity and hell kindness, since it is customer service. Yeah it's only a couple cups of ice, but the treatment I received, it's the principal, decency, TEACH IT!

Purchased a tender meal last night. Didn’t realize The food was cold and the gravy was water until we go home. It was late at night so I called and spoke to the manager. He said to bring it back and they would remake the meal. I said great, next time I would bring my receipt. He said no, need to bring all the food back to get the meal replaced. This is ridiculous, it’s an hour trip to go through their drive up for a meal. Didn’t even apologize for the poor food quality. We don’t go there often because of the long wait in line. Usually our food is at least warm, but the food this time was not even safe for human consumption. Heads up health department

I recently went by this chicken express about a month ago and I specifically asked them to make sure their chicken was fresh when I got my food. It was less than fresh. It was absolutely cold. I thought it was a little warm so I didn’t wanna make a big deal about it and I moved on…later that day I got food poisoning. I called the manager the next day to tell them of my experience and he said that he would have to investigate it And never called me back. I left my name and number. I tried calling several times and the phone has not been answered. Just warning everyone if the food is not hot or feel cooked PLEASE RETURN IT AND ASK FOR ANOTHER PLATE

Went in the evening of June 26th around 9 o'clock, I ordered a 4 piece tenders half-and-half. My wife ordered a 12 piece liver my 2 spicy Tenders were a little bit bigger than the size of a McDonald's chicken nugget. And my wife's liver were in 3 big clumps. All balled together half of them were raw. The sad thing is that a female manager with a red polo shirt on is the one who put the food in the box. Then we spoke to the manager about it and all he had to say was. "I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you for bringing that to my attention." Management at this place is a joke. If it's corporate run or franchise owned someone needs to check in on this place because this is ridiculous. When you pay good money, you want what you paid for not something that can give you salmonella poisoning.

There is nothing “express” about this restaurant. Today, they took almost 10 minutes per order in the drive thru, and despite being one of 4 cars in the drive thru, it took over 40 minutes to get my food. In what world does it take more than 10 minutes to put together one combo?

Had ordered a two piece chicken with french fries and a sweet tea and also a set of chicken livers with a roll and dipping sauce. Got my order got all the way home open my food up so I can eat my lunch and realize they gave me macaroni and cheese and not my french fries. my receipt is literally right here with the picture. Call the manager talk to the manager wanted me to bring the whole box of food all the way back so they can remake the order instead of them refund the french fries. As I explain to him I worked at 24 hour shift. I was home on a break and then I had to go back to work later tonight all the way in Austin And I was tired and I wanted to eat my lunch and take a nap. Policy for this company sucks I even offered to take a picture which you see right here if you pop it up, you’ll see the french fries on the receipt but yet there is macaroni and cheese in my box. This company should literally refund over the phone when this happens. I usually go to Golden chick which is their competitor! So from now on, I will stick to golden chick as long as they keep doing right!

Smallest biscuit in the store. No one asked if I wanted any seasoning packets. A total of 11 fries were in the bag .. I’m like seriously….. I’m a paying customer with hard earned money. I chose to eat here … but I didn’t choose to get short changed….
