Staghorn Restaurant

We were passing through and seen this restaurant, I ordered the enchiladas, rice and beans! This plate was delicious 🤤 my friend ordered chicken fried steak with ocra, and baked potato 🥔 it was piping hot! I will go back our waitress was wonderful! Thank you 🩷🩷

I highly recommend the chesse, bacon and sliced jalapeños hamburger with fries. Took food to go and ate at Choke Canyon State Park. Hubby got the 12 Oz ribeye with shrimp. It was delicious too. The shrimp were large and very flavorful. Thank you. Our mini get away was topped off by our food.

Very nice little restaurant here in Three Rivers. I had the chicken fried steak and it was great! The coffee is hot and the service is fast and friendly. I was driving through the town when I tried this place, but I think I will be back again!

Greatest surprise. Left SA in such a hurry and forgot to get lunch. Stopped in Three Rivers at the first restaurant in town. Food was GREAT! Service was great! My glass was almost never empty. Worth every penny. Just beware of the on coming food coma.... lol

Food was great, and nice smiling waitress, Alexis. I was really impressed with how clean and thoughtful the ladies bathroom was. When you walk in there was a nice candle lit, a little plug-in air freshener, a TV, and it was super clean. Very nice and very comfy in well thought out. :-)

Stopped on the way through heading home. Been by this place 100 times and never stopped. Decided to swing in today and was not disappointed. Family had a wide array of dishes and everyone was pleasantly surprised. Definitely will be eating here again on another trip.

Excellent service. Perfectly timed checking on you, not invasive, very friendly, personable, and personal, great food! I would travel the 45 miles just for the salad bar, which was so fresh with a huge selection of toppings. I had the small chicken fried steak and fried okra. I took half of each home. It was very clean! One trip to the salad bar included with the meal. Stand-alone price (all you can eat) for the salad bar was very inexpensive. The meal was a little pricey compared to most places I eat.

Next on the main section for the buffet was like a Salisbury steak, fried catfish, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, and tartar sauce. Everything on my plate was spot on. For dessert was a slice of cake that was a nice end to a delicious meal. I very much enjoyed dining here and highly recommend this restaurant.

As you can see from a slew of reviews, this place is amazing. Talked to the staff and the building has been there for over 40 years. One of the cooks has worked there for almost 30 years. They even have an upstairs section for overflow. In 2021, new ownership took over and the interior design of this place is amazing. If you are driving from the Rio Grande Valley or even Corpus Christi heading northbound to San Antonio, Austin, or Dallas, this is the perfect stop to enjoy a meal. Great food, family friendly and the sweetest staff. Plus all their food is made from scratch which is why it could take a bit, but it is well worth it. I have gone here for two straight days and have never been disappointed. I super suggest and highly recommend you stop by. You can feel you are part of the many generations that have eaten at this establishment.

Was working in the area and stopped in here for a long lunch. It's a great atmosphere right off the main drive. Good selection on their menu and the staff were more than friendly and helpful. Made me feel right at home. I ordered a plate called South of the border which is a burger steak stuffed with cheese and jalapenos. Also I was very impressed with their great salad bar so many choices. And their iced tea was spot on.

Food is amazing, no other way to put it, burgers are thick and juicy, the enchiladas are to die for, the deepfried catfish is crisp and savory it literally falls apart, service is excellent and very quick, the people are super nice and helpful, you can't go wrong with the buffet, i asked to meet the cook because of how astonished I was by the food, and met an amazing lady named minni who takes so so so much pride in all the food she cooks, whatever they're paying her, it isn't enough, this place is amazing, if your driving through you have to stop here! Bring cash you will definitely Want to leave a tip!

I take my new hires here when we train at our nearby plant. It is the only place with a salad bar and the lunch buffet is really good. Changes daily. And you get an amazing dessert afterwords. They made me like carrot cake. And I hated carrot cake for years. Everyone I bring here loves their food. A great menu and everything cooked to order.

Nice restaurant with a wide variety of choices. Not very expensive. I had the 6 oz sirloin and baked potato. Both were done perfectly, the steak was so tender it almost didn't need a knife. Salad bar was a little limited, but everything was fresh.

The place was good and so was the service although I did give it a star less because they did mess up on the gravy (s) for my meal. but I figured they were just going to try and wipe or scrape it off and replace it with the other so I just said to leave it. I am just not used to asking for Brown gravy and getting a white and a brown.

The salad bar and dressings were awesome. I ordered the 12oz Ribeye, and while very tasty and cooked right, it was more like a flat-iron... not what expected. But the staff was exceptional and will go again!

Really good for a small town place. I had the nachos supreme and my husband had the chicken fried steak. Both were way better than anything else we’ve gotten in this town.

We had a new waitress last night. She was very attentive and when she wasn't helping customers she was cleaning. Very impressed with her.

Enjoyed the food and service! The shrimp tacos with pico de gallo and raspberry sauce were great! Two of the pork chops were a little to salty for my taste, the third one was perfect. Will definitely stop again when passing through Three Rivers.

This place has been hit & miss in the past. We've lived here for three years and the options for dining out are slim. I had the Luau Chicken with a side of sweet potato fries. The salty flavor of the grilled chicken breast paired with the sweet flavor of the pineapple, coupled with the fries was absolutely delicious! My wife had the Aaron's favorite 8oz steak, cooked MW, and the chargrilled flavor of the meat was amazing. There was a smokey flavor from the grill, along with the seasoning, that didn't seem to be much more than salt and pepper, that was simple but delicious. My son had a regular burger, and commented on the smokey grilled flavor. He said this was his new favorite spot for a burger. The atmosphere was a little loud, but not uncomfortable; there were a lot of people tonight, so I guess that speaks for the restaurant too. I found it to be a little cool as well, but we had a two month old with us and I may have been a little sensitive to her. Overall, this place was great and we really enjoyed it. It's earned it's way back into our rotation of places to eat.

Had the buffet of brisket and sausage and it was the dryest food I've had in some time. I paid $16 for my stomach to hurt.

This place was the worst establishment I have ever been to. For starters their drinks taste soapy, or chemically. I'm not the only one who thinks this way, my boyfriends entire family felt the same, the drinks taste like they need to do a better job of washing their cups, straight chemical/soap taste. The drinks were so bad we had to drink bottled water AT A RESTAURANT. They charge you for water here which is ridiculous. I asked for my burger medium rare it was fully cooked.Food took almost an hour to get to us. Ridiculous. Don't waste your time here, I went here passing through to San Antonio, it's a waste of time, stop somewhere else.

Got the surf and turf, and it was not very good. Corn had no flavor. Mashed potatoes were instant, and the salad bar lettuce was half brown. One trip to the salad bar with a super small plate. Paid almost $50.00 for this meal and that's because I got a water that was from the faucet. Disgusting! Not coming back ever again.

Stopped for dinner expecting their “World famous Enchiladas!”, well now I know why they are world famous, they were the worse enchiladas ever!!! In addition, I asked for a Chicken Fried Chicken, the item is not on the menu, but the waitress claimed they could do it. Well they did it alright; the crust flakes of, the chicken was as tough as a rubber tire, and the taste did not exist. Don’t claim you can pull it off if your cook is no good!!! I did not eat the food, and told the waitress it was the most terrible food I have ever had; but she proceeded to charge me for everything I didn’t eat. DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!

The service was friendly. But the food was awful. My husband ordered fajitas he got round steak but he was charged for fajitas.... when I mentioned it to the waitress she giggled and said she doesn't know how the meat comes packaged. I had the buffet the salad was delicious the macaroni salad was delicious. The chicken was so dry it was like jerky I couldn't even eat it the mashed potatoes were cold I won't return

The waitressea were very polite. The food was raw. Wasn't cooked all the way and frozen in middle of hush puppies. Even brought me a second batch and they were same way. Had catfish and it was still pink.
