Opinions de Market Street Cafe Tomball
I love this place! The owner and staff are very nice and welcoming. They have a great patio that allows pets so I often bring my dog. They have great cocktails and food. The dessert was awesome!
Excellent! Chicken fried chicken was amazing and huge portion. The meatloaf was very flavorful. Waitress was kind and attentive. Will be back!
I'm so glad I didnt let a few negative reviews stop my wife and I from going to this spot. After visiting Old Town Tomball for the first time and walking around we decided to check this place out and we were so not disappointed. Morgan our waitress was so sweet and personable and even though they were short staffed and pretty busy I never felt unattended to. She gave perfect customer service simple as that. The grub was delicious! I am not sure what batter they use to fry the fried Pickles but holy hell were they addictive! We had the Hickory burger and the Brie burger as well and I have absolutely no complaints. We will definitely be back to try some of the homemade desserts as well but we were wayyyyy to full for it today heh. 10 out of 10 experience !
This place is absolutely amazing! Me and my family walk inside and we are immediately greeted to the cozy environment and kind hostesses, it only was about a minute to be seated (since we are a large party) and we get a minute to check out the menu which has a variety of options! Everyone orders and we are very happy with our meals! Can't wait to come back!
Amazing food and staff! My friend and I were sat immediately and our server came not too long after! We got the shrimp tacos (photo below) and a chicken salad sandwich. After that, we decided on getting a homemade key lime pie, and it was the best thing on the menu!! I highly recommend visiting soon!
Although they were understaffed they were all very polite and helpful. We had a great time chilling outside while eating their incredibly delicious boudin burger. And it's a pretty good price considering how big it is. This is a great spot to savor a flavorful meal. Will definitely be back!
My wife and I were looking for a lunch spot on a rare occasion that we were both home on a Friday afternoon sans kids. We passed by this place and decided to give it a shot. First of all, the service was great! From the moment we approached the building (me on crutches after a surgery) and they saw me coming and held the door open for me. The accommodated us and my peg leg (in a brace). Service was quick. Menus were brought; Drinks ordered; Drinks delivered - all in the first couple of minutes. The seating a is relaxed design with a country vibe to it. Wooden tables and chairs inside, and outdoor seating is also available. We ordered fried pickles (about $8) and there were Enough for 2-4 people. Then my wife ordered a wrap with chicken 🐔 and avocado 🥑 inside. I ordered the turkey melt and paid the extra $1.85 upgrade FROM chips TO fries 🍟 (see pictures). The portions are gigantic! We could've shared one plate and been totally satisfied - and probably full. I'm not joking! Additionally, the quality of the food is outstanding! The other comment I want to make is that my soda was never empty. The hostess came by and offered refills when the waitress was busy attending other tables. I love that! Only complaint (minor) is that they aren't serving Coke (or even Pepsi) products, so my Diet Soda was a bit odd. Not my favorite. But it won't keep us from not returning. The food was too good not to be back!
Now I have passed by this place many times on my way home and told myself I will eat there. Today, I have finally tired it. The food is really good. From the moment I walked to the moment I was seated the service was phenomenal. Kris was my server and he was a delight. He was very attentive with an amazing attitude. He made my experience heavenly. I started off with the baby spinach with mushrooms and cheese quesadilla. For my main entrée was the boudin burger with fries. Finally, I enjoyed a slice of homemade chocolate peanut butter pie. The burger was the best I’ve had in a while. The patty was thick and juicy. The boudin filling on top with the mango pico de gallo was just an amazing combination. My entire experience was great. I will be coming back to visit.
Lunch Chicken fried chicken and fried okra were delicious. Green beans were excellent, but the pot roast was very dry and the mashed potato’s needed some gravy. Way better than Goodson’s! Service was a bit slow. Don’t sit outside if you want to have a quiet conversation. Lots of traffic with loud trucks coming by and starting/stopping at the intersection. Good south breeze.
The place is located in a charming area and well decorated, and the kids did tryb, but they were ovewhelmed and food took long, and they were not as available as they should, running around. The food was uneven. The artichoke dip was really good, the hickory burger had a tad too many sauce, so the bread was too soggy, the meat in the steak eggs was far too done (re-done, most likely) and the peach cobbler was heated factory-stuff... bit of a dissapointment.
Friendly service, but on the slower side, if you are in a hurry, this is not the place to go. They have seating indoors as well as outdoors. We had a party of 3. We had 2 people split a meal. We had the burgers. Be warned, read fine print on the menu on how things are cooked and prepared and what comes with your order. We ordered our burgers well done. Also, burgers have mayo on them, I would order mayo on the side next time. Burgers are served with chips, but you can substitute fries for an extra cost. The fries were very tasty. It was a bit pricey for burgers, $55 for 2 burgers and fries, in my opinion. Take a long sleeve wrap/jacket. We were right under a/c vents blowing, and the area was cold. The restaurant was clean, and so were the bathrooms. The bathrooms used old doors for decor. You do have to pass next to the kitchen to get the bathrooms. Would eat here again but on a special occasion. Just do to prices.
Ehh … is all I can say. The food is subpar. Ordered a sandwich with no mayonnaise. It can with mayonnaise. Ordered a turkey BLT and there was no bacon. The fish tacos were ok but I would not get them again. Refills had to be asked for. It just wasn’t the experience we were hoping for this being our first time here.
That is a perfect place if you want to eat terrible food. Don’t be misled by the ambience, food is really low level American food!
My burger was so bad I couldn't eat it. I am not one to exaggerate. In fact, I don't think I've ever really complained about a burger. My spouse's meal never came out (after 50 minutes the waitress informed us that somebody had taken her order, and that they could make it again if we wanted). The waitress was sweet.
The atmosphere was nice, cozy, and comfortable. made me think I would get ACTUALLY good food. Chicken was straight out the freezer, green beans were colder than ice. Same with the mashed potatoes. I swear, my mother got just two eggs, and it took about THIRTY DAMN MINUTES. During their brunch time, they literally ran out of breakfast potatoes, so they gave her tortilla chips drenched in what tasted like store-bought salsa. Literally so bad, that its one of those restaurant experiences that become an inside joke with your family. This is a COMPLETELY real experience BTW. I didn't get s photo of our food, but all you have to do is see the terrible service, and someone else's meal to see how bad their food is.
Service was slow, waitresses sat in the back talking. Food we ordered the food salad, pork chop and eggs, and a waffle. The fruit salad was about a pound heaped onto a plate with some fresh and some canned fruit all mixed in yogurt. Very underwhelming. Pork was cooked very well!! The potatoes had a weird taste and texture. The waffle oh the waffle which was $11 by itself 😳 I had to ask for butter,it tastes ok nothing special to warrant that price. Should have ordered the chicken and waffle it was only $16 We will not be going back!!
This was Thursday during the Tomball Ghoul Sip and Stroll. They were busy but I wouldn't say slammed. Waited 15 mins for a table, waitress came to the table, took our drink and food order right then. Drinks came right away, food........ it took 45 mins for them to bring our food after inquiring several times. We both ordered the Greek salad with chicken. When set down in front of us I realized my salad was missing cucumbers. Let the waitress know, she brought the cucs. The salad itself was not very good. It was as if the lettuce was soaked in the dressing long before being brought to our table. This is the second visit to the establishment and will be our last. Sad because it has a cute atmosphere and could be a great place.
