Love this little "Mom & Pop" shop! The food is always fresh and delicious. This is definitely my go to for some quick tasty finger foods

There's a reason this place has a reputation. A local favorite of original chilli dogs with the works. Mom went here as a kid with her dad and grandfather before her. Personally got the original chilli dog with their secret recipe meat sauce, onions, and mustard also bacon cheese fries. Friend got tater tots and plain ol' cheese fries.

There mini hot dogs with the works can't be beat. I ordered a gift card online recently and it's easy and convenient. I sent it to a friend of mine and he was able to pick up an order for us. It made treating us a breeze.

Always a good meal. I get the mini hot dogs with extra hot sauce. The fries are always crispy and hot. Service is usually pretty quick and the staff are friendly. A great place to eat!

As the only Hot Dog Charlie’s in Troy it is the only place for proper chili cheese fries. As a result they have never failed. NEVER!! Also even though the menu is getting more expensive, when I want those 🍟 they do have the best around.

In the capital district mini hot dog game, Charlie’s is the spot. Natural casing mini dogs, meat sauce that’s seasoned well. (Not tomato forward like Gus’) Plus a spicy option on the sauce if you’d like. Fries seasoned properly.

The “Only” Truth

The food has always been good ever since I was a child, however it has dramatically improved and the lunch time staff consisting of two outstanding women with great customer service really is what makes the place feel welcoming, with only two of them, I witnessed them hold down the fort and PERFECT every single order during lunch time with great communication between customers and with each other and having worked in the food industry I can say that's no small task.... Taking orders, making food, shakes, drinks,smiling,call outs keeping food fresh barely breaking a sweat as the customers kept flooding in with bigger orders. Hats off to the workers of lansenburg Charlie's for amazing service, if anyone reads this make sure you give them a good tip next time you go they deserve it. I had to run all the way back just to do Soo because I forgot but my experience was just that good!!-amen

Im giving a 5 star because the service i recieved tonight was one of the best I've ever had anywhere. I didn't get names but it was a woman and young man, Saturday evening July 12th. I came in with my family, ordered a fairly large order that came out pretty quickly. My son is autistic and will only eat hot dogs that are what we call "perfect" No grill marks or any different color. They perfected his hot dogs. no eye rolls. no annoyance. no questions asked. then a few moments later my 4 year old drops her soda all over the floor. Again, no eye rolls, no annoyance, no questions asked. she positively went and got a mop and cleaned it up while chatting with my children. They made the whole experience Great. I hope the GM finds out who they are and gives these 2 a pat on the back because they deserve to be acknowledged.

I ordered the mini dogs w/cheese and had the fries w/ cheese on the side and a small soda. The employee, Daren, was extremely friendly, attentive, professional, and made the order correctly. The food was delicious as usual. The restaurant and tables were clean, the environment was good. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat 😊

I enjoy the sausage and peppers at this location. The last time I decided to get a little crazy, skip the bun and have it over regular fries. The young dude at the counter was willing to do it and even threw in a little meat sauce for "presentation". Delicious! My wife enjoys the mini hotdogs.

A hometown staple. I ordered a Hi-c to drink, a small bacon cheese fry and 5 minis with the works. The fries were too salty given it's covered with nacho cheese and salty bacon. The mini hot dogs could have been cooked a tad bit longer.

Always a good choice, however I just never understand the service is really 0 star on my last visit. The one kid could be more rude by Ignoring customers the lady whom was taking orders was not rude and tried to be helpful and engaging with customers who were waiting. I know food service people are hard to come by but I know sending over 50 dollars for dinner. I love the food but the service is needs to be worked on.

Hot Dog Charlie's is a staple of the North Troy, NY community. I'm so happy to see this business back, in a better location and by all appearances from our visit on a Sunday afternoon busy and thriving. We ordered 2 dozen dogs "with the works" and curly fries with cheese on the side. The 2 women working the counter Sunday were quick and efficient and friendly. They apologized for our wait but considering that there were several patrons ahead of us I did not consider our wait to be long at all. We look forward to our next visit.

Finally visited this iconic Troy landmark! Hot dogs are wonderful, as advertised, but that's not all that's on the menu. Don't skip the meat sauce on those dogs! The dining room seemed to still be set up for COVID distancing, but that may change.

And the hotdogs are perfect. But, Famous lunch hotdogs is just as good unless you go for the the hot stuff new sauce at Charlie hotdogs.

A couple photos got deleted . Oh well. It was sad to read the bad reviews. There were many good ones . I have been going to Hot Dod Charlie's since I was a kid many years ago. I actually met Charlie back then. And talked to him many times at the Albany store. Also knew his brother Johnnie who actually opened his own hot dog place. My father knew him well. I used to stop by the store in Cohoes before the fire . I did stop in the Lansingburgh store not that long ago . I was glad, years ago that they changed from natural casing to skinless. I still enjoyed the taste and the sauce. Years ago I would occasionally buy some sauce in a jar from some supermarkets. I will probably stop in again if close.

No, it isn't haute cuisine, but they do provide tasty natural casing and skinless hot dogs, amongst other items. Cheese is the typical goo. So, it meets expectations for a hot dog joint. Staff is overworked, but decent. The place is strangely laid out, with a dining area that seems too large and empty. If you want a decent hot dog with some decent chili sauce, sure, stop here. If you want higher quality food, go elsewhere.

I thought the burgers were a little light for the price although they had good flavor. Also ordered a hot dog expecting one of their minis but it was full size.

They need to hire more than 2 ladies to work at a time if they’re going to be doing online orders. Be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes or more if you walk in while they take care of Uber eats first.

I tried a hotdogs Charlie's fish fry in cohoes and was amazed...the service with a smile..food was done in a timely manner so i figured I'd try the lansingburgh restaurant since I live close and was on my way to work...service with a frown and the fish took about 18 minutes yes I counted because I was on my way to work..I asked how much longer and was ignored...I was 1st to order and did not receive my order in a timely manner..I understand that there are doorsash orders however It should not have taken that long to drop a fish which takes about 7 minutes and small fry...I'd go back when I have time to spare

I usually like this place and when in the area I go there, my daughter loves this place. Unfortunately yesterday I ordered a beef hot dog and when eating it ....it had a long piece of hair inside the bun. I showed the very nice girl working and she replaced it with another hot dog but I was disappointed in eating the remaining food. It grossed me out. Anyhow I had to review this do to this. Buns should not have long pieces of hair in them. Not good ..

First AND last time at this location. Totally ignored coming in, at counter and left standing there waiting never felt so invisible. At least in the other location I've been to they greet you and take your order asap! Customer service in Troy seems to be a thing of the past. We left and went to Rainbow Delights in Clifton Park. Great hot dogs-friendly service too.

Was just harassed by employees because I sat In my car at 8 pm asking my 12 year old daughter what she wanted instead of fish fry because hot dog charlies closed at 7(i didnt knw)...the employee actually made me afraid...and tapped on my window asking me what i needed and why was I there?..I owned a restaurant!...not even one block from there some years ago (Badass burrito) and I found this atrocious!...that i.needed to explain my singular presence while i texted my 12 year old to see what she wanted instead that would still be open because of work all day on Sundays and just got home myself. .they were rude and aggressive with me.i know it's lansingburgh(ghetto) but please be kind. I felt threatened by the employee! This was unacceptable for any employee.if my 2 12year old had been in the car with me would I have gotten the same treatment??..i feel discriminated against being alone in my car ..I feel harassed and intiimidated Wth?.was simply texting my 12 year old daughter and got treated like a gangster...she should be fired!! Stay out of lansingburgh its definitely not the place it used to be..for sure!....SMDH!!

The owner who works there is not a friendly person it's especially important when you're in the fast food/food services business. He needs a better personality or get out and put someone in there who is people friendly and watch the business you get. I mean come man its a new year you need to be doing something better than year prior or your business will fail...And one last thing learn how to appreciate your employees because at the end of the day they are who make the business for you. Been coming here for years. Always brag about hotdog Charles but they are horrible at answering the phone and then leaving the phone off the hook and hanging up so they can’t take orders 30 minutes before closing.

Un-exciting/basic hot dogs, felt like I wasn't appreciated as a customer (which should be shown way more in a small business vs. a big corporation) and very, slow service. I can get basic food, be unappreciated, and get slow service at McDonald's...disappointing after all the hyped up talks I've heard about Hotdog Charlie's. I was there today September 28th, 2020.

While the service was very good, the ladies were very busy and clearly working hard- the food was terrible. I hate to say that, too. I love Hotdog Charlie's, but the sauce had a very overcooked and burnt taste. I ate there, and almost didn't make it home. I was so sick all night long after consuming that. I usually go to the one in Cohoes, and have never had that happen to me.

Shocked that this place has 4.3 stars! Did it used to be good? I'm new to the area and was eager to try this place, but what a let down. I ordered the cheese burger (as it comes) and a hotdog with the works. Absolutely tasteless, might as well eaten the napkins it came with. Now if this was a buck a dog or a two dollar cheese burger I'd get it but I spent $9! This place is supposed be a staple of Lansingburgh?? People need to get out more!

Whoever your employee is that drives the black Honda (old one) tell them they need to start parking in your parking lot and stop parking in front of my house because clearly they love to park too close to people’s cars and then next time I see them close to my car I’m having their shit towed. Ordered online and when I arrived after getting notification of my food being ready. I come inside and I was waiting till one of the workers looked less busy just stated I had a pick up the worker snapped at me and said you gonna freaking wait till I decide to speak to you. Then the worker left and went outside the other worker was equally rude and when I finally got my food 20 minutes later it was cold and they told me to deal with it. Like seriously there was no reason for the rudeness.

Hot Dog Charlie ,Troy N.Y. I tried hot dog Charlie on recommendation of friend, wow was I extremely disappointed,the bun was fresh,hot dog,chili,and processed Velveeta was awful,too salty, dog had no bite,I ordered 3 and managed to finish one, a few hours later a horrible stomach ache. This concept would be nice if cheese was not processed and chili was not salty. I will not be returning.
