First time to Chevy and it was a pleasant surprise. The ambience was on point. Vibe was immaculate. If you go during the happy hour, you will see some great deals. Wait time is a little longer than other places but it is because of the crowd and its popularity. Dishes were very tasty and unlimited nachos if you sit at the bar is great if you visit on game day. Lot of TV's all around and the staff is quick. Parking is never a problem as it is located in Union landing. I would def take my family.

Had tasty food at Chevys. Parking at 4pm on a Sunday was crowded. They don't have a lot of staff so the queue was long - we waited 30 mins for a table. We even tried to wait at the bar for our table to be ready and we were stopped because they only had one waiter servicing the whole bar area.

Recently just rediscovered Chevy's during this past Cinco De Mayo and glad I gave it a shot. I sat at the bar and the bartender Destini did an amazing job even as it started to get busy. She was very personable and is a great server/bartender since she was there when another mimosa or food item was needed as well as taking care whenever an issue that came about. She fixed it quickly so that's much appreciated. Their Cinco De Mayo specials were great. When I went back again on a busy Friday, found out how good their happy hour was, both with drinks as well as food. You can't beat a happy hour that goes from 3 to 9 with such great value and quality. Destini was there again to be of great service. It's good that Chevy's is still around my area because it's an awesome place for food and just to chill or watch any sports games. I had heard that some Chevy's had been recently closed so I'm grateful that the Chevy's in Union City is still around. I'll definitely be back.

I have tried almost everything on the menu minus the things w pigs in it, and I have to say if my Mexican food starts tasting bad it’s because I’m not eating chevys anymore. The staff are welcoming and very quick to share in a laugh! It’s sometimes a little hot, but nothing an open door can’t fix!

Loved the vegetarian options. I tried the mesquite grilled burrito and the farmer's market enchilada and they were both really good. They had a lot of veggies and the portion sizes were reasonably large (1 entree is more than enough for one person). Their salsa was really flavorful. The creme brulee was not the best I've had but it was also delivered so might be better in person.

I came down to Union City for the Good Guys end of May Custom Rod and Lowrider Show here at the Autocar Auditorium, and what a show it is! Plenty of everything, and I mean the best of everything ..it is Amazing! But not as Amazing as the Loaded Nachos Grande Supreme from Chevys. It was my first time at Chevys and I went on a Sunday for brunch. The food was good and loved how all the workers were so friendly. The main character here was my server, Alfredo ! If you happen to go to Chevys on a Sunday morning ask for him because he was amazing! Over the top customer service and I appreciated the fact he kept checking in on my table even though he had his hands full with other tables. Never had to wait too long for anything! He truly elevated our entire dining experience, especially for my first time there and I’ll definitely be coming back because of him. Thank you for going above and beyond!

My fiancée and I were in town for a soccer game and decided to come here for lunch. Our server Jose Corona was absolutely amazing. We told him we were practicing Spanish so he talked to us in Spanish and English to help us out. We also told the same to Joaquin who also spoke to us on both Spanish and English. They didn’t have to take the time to speak and explain when we were unclear of what they were saying but they did because they knew were learning. This Chevy’s is very lucky to have both of these gentlemen. They are an absolute asset to this restaurant. Thank you Jose and Joaquin!

Today we came in to watch the niner game and called before which the manager Victor answered the phone to assist me. He was so nice and told us to come on in. Chevys fulfill the nostalgia factor of my childhood and this Chevys always hit whenever I find myself craving their fajitas plate and fresh tortillas. Marco was our server tonight and he kept the fresh tortillas coming! He was very attentive even on a busy night. We have a tendency to get in our own world while trying to manage our kids in a restaurant but Marco was patient and prompt. Gypsy was a great server! Food is always great; highly recommended the nachos! The restaurant was understaffed when we visited, which meant longer waits & harder to get service. We had to sit in the bar as there were no available tables without a 20 minute wait, even though it was off hours for meal time. Everything tasted well-balanced and didn’t feel heavy. The apple chipotle vinaigrette was my favorite part — it had a slight sweetness with a little smoky kick that went perfectly with the fajita seasoning. My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Chevys Fresh Mex last night. It was especially meaningful because our very first visit was about 20 years ago at this same location when we were dating. It was great seeing familiar faces on the staff who have been there since those early days, which honestly says a lot. We started with flautas and margaritas, then both ordered the mixed grill. The grills came out hot and sizzling just like they should, and the portions are still generous after all these years. The margaritas were right on the money, and the flautas were solid, definitely something we still enjoy. And of course, the chips and salsa are one of a kind. Victor was our waiter and he was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. Really great guy. Joaquin also deserves a shoutout. He has always been welcoming and helpful every time he sees us, and that’s been true for about 20 years now. Great food, great service, and a lot of good memories tied to this place. We’ll definitely keep coming back.

Wow! Chevys does not disappoint. Excellent happy hour menu and variety at an affordable price. All of the staff is attentive and hard working. There wasn’t a single server or waiter sitting around, they were all attentive to each table and it’s appreciated. Joaquin and Joshua and Maria and Darlene all excellent hosts!!! Came here for Easter Brunch and had a great experience. Got our reservations on Open Tables fairly easy. They had a Easter Brunch Special menu with Bottomless Mimosas & Bloody Marys for $34.95 which included, fruit, entree and dessert. The Bloody Mary was one the the best I had, can't go wrong with that. The Mimosas was also good. The fruit were fresh. The Shrimp & Crab Omelette was very good one of the best. The Steak a la Diabla with Eggs with two eggs and refried beans was good as well. The was tender. For dessert we had the fried ice cream and cheesecake, both were good. I didn't get our servers name sorry, but he did a great job, kept the mimosas and Bloody Marys coming and kept checking with us and all his another table.

Visited on Taco Tuesday and the taco bar was great. Firstly the complimentary nachos and salsa were great. The tortillas were for the tacos were tasty and the chicken was juicy. We also ordered the happy hour food specials: Queso dip, chicken nachos and the margarita flight. Overall, good food and great value during happy hour.

I haven't been a Chevy's in about a decade, if not longer. The atmosphere was a little drab but we were seated quickly. I chose to sit at the high top table in the cantina area. Our table wasn't exactly clean with tortilla chip crumbs scattered about, but clean enough. Our waiter was nice and attentive enough. I got the shrimp fajitas and my wife got the salmon street tacos. The food was decent; it reminds me of a Mexican Chili's, if that makes sense. The shrimp was obviously the cheap frozen kind, though I didn't expect anything else. And my fresh tortillas were oddly shaped but still tasted how I remember. Overall, it was a nice nostalgic experience but nothing that makes me want to go back. My wife really liked the chips and salsa though. Updated review: I came back a couple weeks later to try their new(ish) Sunday all-you-can-eat brunch buffet. My wife really wanted to go. We made reservations at 10:30, but when we arrived it was still a little empty. Towards the end of our meal more people started filling in. I don't think reservations are quite necessary but you never know. I updated my ratings from 3 stars to 4 across the board. While I still don't care too much for their regular menu, their brunch buffet was really good. There's a ton of dishes to choose from; seafood with ceviche, fresh omelette bar, fresh tacos, and a variety of other things. They even have a kids station with fries, chicken tenders, and cereal. The drink station has fresh agua frescas, fruit infused water, coffee and hot chocolate. Unlimited mimosas are included as well as complimentary churro pancakes. The service was really good and our waitress made sure to keep tabs on us. My previous visit was lackluster but this breakfast brunch will bring me back. I'm definitely glad I gave it a chance. Additional note: pricing seems to vary from location to location, but our bill came out to $75.00 for two adult breakfast buffets BEFORE tax - so $37.50 per person. Google did say it was $42 per person and they don't have pricing on their website.

Went here on a Wedneday night around 5:30pm. Got seated right away and got our drinks and food real fast. We ordered 2 combo fajita ($29.00) and 2 coffee ($3.50). Everything tasted good, and the server kept checking if we were okay. Portion given can be shared if you're not that hungry. I gave a 4 star due to the lack of lighting on our table. We can't barely see our food. Also noticed a surcharge fee on our bill. For 2 people, we end up paying $90.0, including surcharge, tax, and tip.

It has been forever since I've been to a Chevys. But the chips and salsa still delights. Ordered too much food from the happy hour menu and it was quite reasonable. Must have caught our server on an off day. First to get seated with 3 other tables and last to get served. When he approached, he seemed short and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Had to ask for chips when other tables just received it. Requested an additional salsa and it took awhile, in the meantime the manager was walking around and asked if he can assist with anything. I mentioned we were just waiting for extra salsa, so instead our server took the left over chips and salsa from the table while we were eating from it. Luckliy he came back and refilled it. Questioned soda refills, he was hesitant when it was requested. I understand we all have our off days, so this person will not be named and still left a 15% tip. Hope to update in future with improved service

Called to see about paying for my grandmother meal since she’s coming in for her birthday today. i was placed on hold so the young lady who picked up could see what would be the best option a gift card or waiting for them to get there. I was then placed on hold for 25 min with no pick up I called back & was sent to a call center & when the call center rep transferred me back I was sent to VM. Truly disappointed bc I just want to do a simple task.

The service was not good as it was 7 months ago. My food was not hot I order the vegetable and shrimp fajitas. I had to ask for tortillas and I never knew who was the waiter. We had to ask for water wich was never brought when we first sat down. When I order a Malibu mango margarita without ice I was brought the wrong size glass and less than 1/2 of cup of a drink. I had to order something with ice because they measure the alcohol and dilute the rest with ice. I really did not enjoy my food but I enjoyed my friends Birthday gathering. I gave three stars because 7 months ago the food and service was great!

I used to be a regular at Chevy's until they closed the one in my neighborhood. I went to the one in Union City for nostalgia sake. It was disappointing. They seemed to be understaffed, service was pretty much nonexistent. We had to stand and wait about 10 minutes to get a table cleaned so we could sit in the cantina, and it took a very long time to place the order and then receive it. I ordered the Al Pastor Chicken Fajitas the chicken was overcooked and dry. My dining companions had the Steak Fajitas and the the other one the Smothered Chicken Burrito. The Steak Fajitas were equally as dry, they came with sweet corn cake while the AL Pastor which was off the summer seasonal menu did not which was a bummer. The Burrito was very good and we had Pomegranate margaritas which were the frozen while I would have preferred on the rocks but wasn't given a choice. Nevertheless the margaritas were very good. The Margaritas and the Burrito are why this is a 3 star not a 2 star visit. I think that was probably my last time visiting Chevy's unfortunately due to this experience and rhe fact that there already no Chevy's close to where I live any longer there are better and closer places foe me to get good and authentic Mexican food.

It was very busy, but moving. The food was good, but our waiter was distracted at times. The atmosphere was busy, bright in some spaces and darker in others. We were seated next to a door and every time a person exited, cold air would shoot in and blow our napkins around.

Gabriel was friendly and attentive, and he made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Service was a bit slow at times, likely due to a few larger tables nearby. The food was just okay overall. The flour tortillas were too thick and doughy for my taste, which took away from the experience. The chips and salsa were consistently good, as always. We live in San Jose and happened to be in Fremont—otherwise, we probably wouldn’t have made the trip. That said, the fajitas were what brought us in.

Food was a light to decent 3, even though the chips were good, the rest of the experience was bad. Enchiladas tasted rubbery and had not much flavor, beans tasted like they came out of a can and the rice was mid. My "sprite" was likely 7Up or Starry, no issue with that but they should be honest about what is being served. Overall 3/10 experience.

I come here often and the service is usually great! This past weekend I was in the restaurant with my children and received an attitude by the manager (short bald guy). My 13yo son asked for syrup for his pancakes and was given a nasty look and attitude. I peeped his attitude and went off of him. I literally had to get smart with this little man, because he was rude to my little boy. A grown man with an attitude. I will not be returning. Everyone else there is nice. I never experienced this from them.

Food is as usual good like Mexican food. Service is not that great. We got our starter , but no plate, spoon/fork/napkins. We waited around 10 minutes, kids started having directly as they were very hungry. Need to ask for the plates, etc. Then they gave it to us. I ordered beer for drink,after I finished my bottle, no one asked me for a re-order. I did not get water too. At the end I explicitly asked them for water, it took at least 10 minutes to get it.(after repeated reminders) My daughter had ordered a kids meal, which consisted of a Sundae as her dessert. That did not come even after we completed our dessert. It was our anniversary, yet the experience was not great.

The food was good but they were out of tomatillo sauce. The problem was the volume was cranked up super freaking loudly. We felt like we were at a bar and had to shout at one another and our server. We debated this being a new spot to go to with our coworkers but...no. Might give it one more try to see if the vibe is more relaxed or if this is like a consistent thing.

This is the second time I’ve decided to take advantage of their weekend brunch special we’re all brunch meals before 3 PM are eight dollars. But as usual the staff is not familiar with this brunch and even though I was told by one of the table cleaners that yes the menu is all eight dollars when I checked out I was billed for the regular price of this meal steak and eggs which came to 16 or $18 with tax. After I pointed the ticket out to my waiter she went back out to talk with her manager which seem to be a bit long for a correction it was easy to make based on the simple price of every brunch meal at eight dollars. The meal itself has its good and bad points it the egg over easy it was perfect and the refried beans were very tasty and well the steak itself since it is a skirt steak it’s not a very popular for being tender or easy to eat and it was very difficult to maneuver on a fork very chewy and mixed in some flour tortillas with some salsa refried beans in a little bit of egg they seem to be quite tasty but hard to chew. The table service was good but once again the waitress was unclear about the eight dollar special when she billed me for the full ticket and the tortillas which come with the meal I had to request them because they were not part of what I was being served. This is the second time I went to their eight dollar brunch and I think the meal was a bit more tastier than the crab and shrimp omelette and the service was fine but once again the staff was a not clear about the specials they offered for a weekend brunch and they did not set the Tortias is as part of the meal/ it also took a while to correct the ticket after I was Miss charge /but other than that this is a nice clean restaurant easy to park on the weekends /very Covid clean the patios are open for late breakfast and lunch the crowds are thin so it’s easy to get a good table and enjoy your weekend afternoon.

The food was so bad that we didn't even eat it or want to take it home. It was bland and tuff like it had been reheated. The waiters were attentive when we caught them and asked for something. But they weren't easy to catch. I wasn't happy I spent $110 and left hungry. I was also disappointed that the staff never asked if there was a problem even though we clearly didn't like our food. The food was decent, but the staff sucked. There are people walking all around our table, but we could never get anyone to give us extra silverware. When it came time for the check once again, it took 10 to 15 minutes to flag someone down. It wasn’t even that crowded.

A Weird, Regrettable Experience Chevy’s somehow managed to be disappointing and confusing at the same time. Starting with the basics: no agua frescas. Zero. For a Mexican restaurant, that’s already wild. Instead, the drink options were basically alcohol-only, like the assumption is everyone walking in is trying to cope with something. I just wanted a normal non-alcoholic drink. The kitchen was painfully laggy—not busy, just slow for no reason. Food eventually came out, and that’s where things really went downhill. The mariachi band that no one asked for randomly showed up, played way too close to tables, and then straight-up begged for money. It felt awkward and forced, not festive. The lighting inside is terrible—so dim it honestly made me wonder if the cooks can even see what they’re cooking back there. That would explain the undercooked bell peppers and the overall lack of care. I ordered the steak and shrimp plate, and the steak was obviously way smaller than what’s shown in the pictures. The plate itself looked sad and empty—no beans, no salad, nothing. Just protein sitting there like it forgot to bring friends. The appetizer tortilla chips were burnt, not “crispy,” not “toasty”—literally just burnt. One bite and that was it. Even worse, the salsa tasted fishy, like the knives weren’t washed properly and there was some serious cross-contamination happening. That alone should be a red flag. To top it all off, yes—I got diarrhea afterward, which really sealed the experience. The server rushed us while we were ordering, then later ran after us outside because he lost the receipt after we already paid. Completely unprofessional and uncomfortable. The only things that were actually good? The avocado, the tortillas, and the soda. That’s it. Overall, Chevy’s feels chaotic, poorly managed, and careless. Between the food issues, weird atmosphere, and stomach consequences, I won’t be coming back.

Too slow service. Desert took more than half hour to arrive. Too bad, food was good, but wouldn't visit again. Check your bills before you leave. I had ordered an individual Mimosa ($7), but was charged for bottomless ($14).

We love Chevy's. Our kids grew up coming to this Chevy's so every time they're n town we always go to this Chevy's. The service has been hit or miss. But food always good. This time service from Fernanda was on point. But the crab and shrimp enchilada - not good because we found a metal wire hook in it. Luckily hubby found it when cutting the last slice of his enchilada. It would have been horrible if he had swallowed it. We told and showed the manager. He compensated us by not charging us the dish. But thought I have to put it out here to let everyone know to be careful with their food.
