Opinions de Chesterfield's Tavolo Utica
This was our first time here. The atmosphere was more industrial than I expected. I would recommend making a reservation, we were told it was a 10 minute wait and it ended up being about 35 minutes. Food was delicious. Service was great. Prices were typical for the area.
I would just like to thank you for a delicious “dinner to go”! I ordered chicken riggies, which came with greens, salad, and bread. Everything was delicious, seasoned well, and generous portions! A very Happy Birthday dinner! We will be back! (Sorry~ forgot the take photos!)
The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are so nice. The portions are big enough to have leftovers. We are from out of town and have been here twice and absolutely love it!
We tried Chesterfield's for the first time and we were very pleased with the service and the food. I tried the Sicilian and was extremely happy with it. My husband had the Jam burger which was awesome. The server was very friendly. Our food was served fairly quick. We will definitely eat here again.
This was our second visit to Chesterfield's. We were in the area again looking for a great Italian place for lunch and figured we would give this another go. Our first experience was so pleasant. The pasta does not disappoint and this Italian wrap was light and flavorful. The service is friendly and quick and the atmosphere is laid back and cozy. Highly recommend this restaurant .
This place is definitely one of Utica’s better restaurants, despite the Seafood Cioppino special being mediocre. The wedge salad was absolutely delicious, as was the calamari. The house-made fettuccini bolognese was also very good. Second time…the pickle pizza was excellent…the crust perfectly charred…the wedge salad and stuffed mushrooms were great also. The service both times was good. No complaints.
It was the best food I've had in a while. The atmosphere was really cozy and the staff was very friendly and attentive, always asking if we liked the food and what we thought of it. I had the hot honey salmon and Ny style cheesecake, it was amazing. Also the lasagna is pretty good and also really big, one serving is enough for like two people, great place would recommend 👌.
Fantastic experience. A must if you're in or traveling through Utica. Oct 2024: this place is just fantastic. The service was great, Mgr did table touches. Pizza was incredible, wedge salad was off the charts. well done by all, including the pizza craftsman who leaned over the counter and said " how was it" delicous!
This was our first time here and we loved it! We were seated right away and the waitress was very nice and made sure our drinks were always full. We ordered the greens as an appetizer, lasagna, chicken fettuccine alfredo and a kids pizza. It came out rather quickly but in the meantime we enjoyed the fresh bread and marinara sauce. Everything was delicious and the kids pizza could feed an adult. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Had an excellent meal here tonight. Fresh haddock with a crab, scallop and shrimp stuffing, baked mozzarella and season breadcrumbs in a balsamic cream. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. I substituted Mashed Potatoes for a caesar salad and it was excellent as well. Would definitely like to go back to try other dishes as Everything on the menu sounded great.
Food is delicious! Best fra diavolo—just wish it had more seafood than just shrimp!
Mixed reviews on this place. I'll start with the positive. The cauliflower crust pizza was wonderful. There's no way you'd think this was gluten friendly, it was so good. I had the Salsiccia, which has spicy arrbita sauce, mozz, sausage, caramelized onions and roasted peppers. Taste was great. It came out a little burnt on one side, but nothing too bad. The service was extremely slow. While the restaurant was mostly empty for Friday lunch, it took forever to get anything we ordered. Drinks took a minimum of 15-20 minutes, the meals took even longer. The server was ok. If I'm honest, it just seemed like she didn't want to be there.
Nice people with decent service. My mom and daughter both got chicken parm and the chicken was very thick and not particularly tender. My steak was good and my dad had a chicken Alfredo dish that he enjoyed. The arancini was good along with the garlic bread. The red sauce has too much oregano for my liking but it was okay otherwise. Nice atmosphere and the Margherita pizza was very good.
The service was lovely! Seemed like a fun place, I was just too tired to appreciate it. The food was OK and I would totally eat there again on a casual occasion. Loved that they use organic chicken. Missed out on the pizzas and dessert, I'll have to go back to try it. They looked great
overall on the expensive side. beer is $$$$$. Airport prices. i know i am in New York state with an inapt governor and it reflects on everything. but stupid people vote for stupid people . so you expect this. only came for work, glad to leave again. Had pizza, was the best from what i saw my colleagues had. for me everything is overpriced for what it was. especially beer.
I ordered a marguerite pizza. It had too little basil and the crust was burned. Service is good and it's a nice place but I haven't been impressed with the food.
First, let me say that the food we got, each a plate of gluten free pasta, one with Alfredo and one with a blush sauce, was very good and a decent amount. But 83.00 for 2 bowls of pasta and 2 ginger beers seems a bit steep. No bread, no side salad. I would say maybe it was a cost saving, but when the table next to us was seated, they got bread first thing. Yes, we are GF, but they do make GF bread. So, the cost , over 90 with the tip, for 2 plates of GF pasta, brings this down to 3 stars at best.
This was the second time I went to Chesterfield's Tovolo. The first time I could have eaten nothing but their bread and gone home happy. This time it was different. It was a bit too crispy for me. I had stuffed haddock which I thought it was okay. I wouldn't order it again. My husband said the same for his mushroom pizza. Too bland for him. The service was good.
My family and I are passing through Utica. We stopped at the hotel next door and decided to order clothes so we didn't have to travel... My wife ordered a pickle gluten-free pizza and it was absolutely horrible. It was cold, she ordered extra pickles and there was definitely not and she ordered light cheese and it was loaded. I am glad we are traveling through because we don't have to worry about going back there
Well I would stay away from the chicken broccoli alfredo. Chicken was caught in those giant chunks, so lazy, but that's how they do it in Utica. Chicken was old, hard to bite into and I left 80% of it with the fear of getting sick. It's really a butter sauce not a Alfredo sauce, so thick and gross. You have to shake each piece of pasta to get all the butter off of it on each bite so annoying, finally out of the blue one of the two bartenders brought over some Parmesan cheese, that made it a lot better. I had to transfer it from the main plate to another plate to get it out of the butter. But the main problem is the chicken was old and nasty. Had the pasta purses also same problem you can taste the wine but the main sauce was strictly just butter or butter like product. They have delicious bread but it was overcooked and you couldn't cut into it, can you surely can't break it in half because it's covered in butter garlic sauce so you can't really touch it without getting your hands all gross so I didn't get to enjoy the bread either. **Wine is way overpriced** if you're going to pay the price get the highest price wine because they're the only two good ones they have ($12 a glass for a store bought $13.99 bottle) a bunch of nice TVs playing reruns when they should be playing sports.
