Wouldn't guess that a diner is located in a dealership but it's a great idea! Waitresses were friendly and attentive. Portions were larger than we could finish. The place was visited by regulars and you can tell that the staff enjoy their job. Old diner feel and well cared for. Clean and bright atmosphere. Definitely will stop again when in the area!
This is a gem of a diner, that has been a staple in our family for over 15 years. Very friendly staff, serving high quality comfort food. Some of our favorite dishes have been the Gourmet Special Omelette (adding cheddar cheese), Pork Belly Benedict, Kids cheeseburger, steak and eggs, Greek omelette, and the prime rib dinner!
The food here is always great. My family and I ate here after a long day at the dealership across the street. The staff are kind, friendly and attentive. They even have fresh squeezed orange juice, which I love. There are variety of items to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
From the moment you walk-in, you're greeted with warm smiles. We presented our complementary dinner voucher, and were told we can get anything on the menu (my belly was excited) yes even the prime rib. I highly recommend this place. Thank you Galpin !! The staff is awesome.
Food was excellent, only the salmon I felt was a little too quicked for my preference. Customer Service was speedy and friendly. Ambiance is in a diner setting which throws you off because the food tastes and has a feel like a 5 star restaurant.
This place is my new go to breakfast spot when I am in town! The service is excellent and the quality of the food is superb! When a mistake was made on the order they were quick to make it right! The waffle with walnuts was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I highly recommend trying it!
You'll feel like you stepped back into the 1950's dining at The Horsekess Carriage Restaurant. It seems an unlikely place to find a restaurant (at a car dealership) but the dining experience was such a delight you'll come back again and again. The food is delicious and they offer such a large selection you'll find something for everyone (breakfast, hamburgers, seafood, steak, pasta, ...) They are so popular that there may be a wait, but it is well worth it. Our waitress was "Debbie" who has worked there for many years; she was fantastic and very attentive, even though they were very busy. I'll definitely come back, even if I'm not in the market for a car 😉
Great place to have a bite to eat. nice variety of food from sandwiches to pastas. Plus u can look at all thr vintage mustangs in the showroom when your finished.
Sally gave us great service and the food was freshly made and tasty. I had the fluffy waffle and bacon and sausage. The others had the griddle and steak and eggs. Fresh orange juice was wonderful too!
Some of the best breakfast food I've had in a long time. The service was spectacular and everyone was friendly and welcoming. It had the vibe of an old school diner. Everything was immaculately clean and well taken care of. Overall, it was a great value and a great experience.
This was a great experience. I had an omelet with spinach and mushrooms. The veggies were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Service was amazing! Their eggs Benedict is very good too.
The service is above great. Staff are really friendly and so on point at elevating your eating experience. Words can't explain it. You'll have to experience it for yourself. Bert Boeckman always took care of his customers with the finest, and we will terribly miss him.
A diner at Ford? Who knew? I did actually, but I just never stopped in.. lol.. finally decided to check it out, and I kicked myself for not going in sooner! Great for great service and amazing people! I'm just glad there are no salespeople in there. Otherwise, I would have probably bought a car! Lol.. they even enjoyed up a chocolate cream pie for my wife (it was her birthday) Can't wait to go again!
In the category of small diners, I give this 5⭐️s. The place was clean and had a very cool 50s vibe. Staff was friendly and service was quick. I ordered a salmon caprese salad. It was delicious. If you’re looking for a great lunch spot, I would highly recommend it. The only negative was parking but that wasn’t a big enough issue to hinder the full experience.
The food was amazing, well cooked, and well served. The serves was amazing, and my waitress Magie (I think that her name) was very nice. It I very clean and overall everyone was nice and everything was amazing.
Love love this restaurant!!! I typically only order breakfast, which they cook to my exact specifications. You might think "big deal" but most places truly don't cook your eggs, bacon or hash browns all that well. Not the case here. Always perfect! Can't beat $6 mimosas and warm service!!!
The waiters here are super sweet! I love Sally who always serves my dad and I for breakfast and remembers us. Food items are hit and miss but most are pretty good. The fresh squeezed orange juice is the best I have ever had.
My husband and I traveled to Galpin Ford dealership to hopefully find our new vehicle. We decided to go have lunch and discuss this purchase. The sales rep offered to give us a voucher for our meal at their own restaurant! Yes, they have their own restaurant right at the dealership....Now I have to say, we weren't really enthusiastic about it, but a free meal is a free meal. We were so pleasantly surprised that what we had was some of the best food and service we have had in a long time! Everything was amazing. You have to go and try this great place, you will not be disappointed. Again, yes it is at a automotive dealership....simply delicious 😋
This is a restaurant Dash coffee shop that is attached to the Galpin Ford dealership. It looks like it was designed as a high-end Diner in the 70s, and remains pretty true to its roots in the design. The place is extremely clean and the staff is extremely friendly. What is a surprise is is that you would expect to get a burger or maybe a patty melt in a place like this, but the menu is surprisingly wide and deep. And the prices are excellent. Breakfast lunch and dinner. Everything from waffles 2 prime rib and all are done very well. The quality of the food and the preparation is excellent and this could pass for a three to four star restaurant if it were in the different setting. It is happily in this setting, which I believe is originally for the convenience of people having their car serviced, but it is far greater than that. The owner of the franchise has obviously put a lot of love and effort into this place and every meal I've had here has been Superior. The prime rib is great, comprable to Lowery's and the steak and eggs I had over the weekend or Superior is well, at $12.99. Prepare to be surprised when you stopped in. They also make their own Breads and pies here so I would recommend either of those options.
the salmon blt (you can ask for it without bacon) really good on ciabatta bread , really good.
First time eating there. The staff was amazing. The food was very good. Big portions
There’s a reason this place hasn’t changed much since it opened in 1966…. Because it’s GOOD! And nothing needs to be changed! The pork belly eggs Benedict is out of this world and a staple breakfast item turned amazing! As a foodie from Chicago I have gourmet taste buds and love a blue collar atmosphere. The Horseless Carriage delivers every time and tonight I had the steak salad. I was skeptical the whole way and practically licked the bowl in the end. The pineapple and tomatoes were perfect, the steak was cooked to perfection and the dressing was just enough to tie it all together. Lucky for me I live close so it’s not a matter of IF I’ll be back but when. Thank you to the entire Galpin staff for always making me feel like family. I’ll post a photo next time…
OMG, best food ever. A-1 chefs, service is superb. I love the crispy bacon, home fries and the strawberry topped pancakes are so delicious. For lunch you've got to try the Fish and homemade chips... I can't tell you how many times I've taken Mom out to enjoy their delicious dishes.
One of my absolute favorite little gems of the neighborhood. For many years, I overlooked this place, mainly because it’s not easy to spot from the street especially when driving. But it’s there, thankfully! Every meal I’ve had here has been delicious but it’s not just the food that is great-the service is wonderful! I’ve had a different waitress each time and I left satisfied with every experience. It’s clean and has a cozy diner feeling, like you can go with a group or by yourself, it doesn’t matter. The chefs hold it down when it gets busy-shout out to the mvps! Simply put…it’s a great place to eat. Recommended
I hesitate writing my review, because this is one of my absolute favorite places to dine. I stumbled on the Horseless Carriage years ago when I was moving to the valley, and I make a point to stop in as often as I can, though it now feels more like a treat. The menu has a little something for everyone and still manages for feel like a cozy diner. Everything, from the salads, pastas, entrees, and breakfasts has impressed me, usually making it hard to decide between a new delicious option, or one of the classics. Their prime rib dinner has kept me going for years and I definitely recommend the chef salad. Whatever you try, I hope it treats you as wonderful as this place always has.
Horseless Carriage says it.all. There was a time when people moved at a slower pace and cared. This place allows you to step back. Without sacrificing great food and good value. Loved the chicken tortilla soup!!!
You probably have to walk through a Ford dealership to enter this restaurant but we were not bothered by any pushy salespeople. The place screamed 1950-60's diner. Sadly I was too hungry to take a picture but I had the spicy sausage omelette. Higher than normal breakfast diner prices but for the area and quality, the price was surprisingly good.
Drove by there so many times and was wondering about this place in the middle of a huge car dealership. Well, it turns out to be a jewel of a small diner. Been there for about 50 years, with fantastic and friendly staff ( thank you Sesy Munoz. You were fantastic) and the food and menu is just amazing. From freshly prepared sandwiches to prime rib and lobster dishes and breakfasts all day. Top-quality service and food. I can't wait until we go there, again. Even mother in law liked it and that says a lot. Try it out you will not regret it. Pictures show my prime rib dinner ( so big it almost needed its own zip code and my spouse' vegan sandwich.
The Horseless Carraige was a surprisingly great place. The restaurant is part of the Galpin Ford structure, but was an amazing dining spot. The interior looks like a retro diner, and offers excellent customer service along with pretty generous prices. The food was delicious, offering a somewhat subtle flavor note. The food is suitable for all people, and they offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert options based on the time of day.
This was my best friend's birthday 🥳 celebration breakfast and was my choice on the menu at the Horseless Carriage restaurant. It's on the Galpin Ford lot. My Mom and I used to eat there when her car got serviced. They use only fresh ingredients, real butter, and all their meal choices are really good! Pictured is the lobster, egg, pepper & onion, feta cheese breakfast. Comes on top of home fried potatoes. Fresh baked goods daily too!
It’s really great. Food is fantastic. Staff is accommodating. What more can you ask for?
You're standing in a auto dealership. Galpin Ford sells cars, new and used. They maintain a great service department and a specialty shop that builds show cars. In 1966, when the dealership expanded into this location, they added a surprisingly good, upscale diner. THE HORSELESS CARRIAGE RESTAURANT is like being in San Fernando Valley, in the '80s, with 'Valley Girls." (You know, "Gag me with a spoon.") So, slip on your leather jacket and get ready for some good manners and delicious, upscale, "drive-in' food, like lobster and filet mignon. Unfortunately, there are no car hops. But, parking is free and easy. The coffee is fresh and hot. Drinks are refilled free. This is a meat and potatoes "joint," offering breakfast omelets, triple deck sandwiches, steak, chicken, burgers, and lobster on the menu. Executive Chef Giovanni Euceda staff will adjust recipes to meet your dietary requirements. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. For my vegan diet, Chef Giovanni prepared a vegan stir-fry accompanied with sides of potatoes and fresh fruit. The assortment of vegetables includes, butternut squash, zucchini, broccoli, carrots, and chives. These are stir-fried in sesame oil with a touch of soy sauce. A plate of home-fried potatoes and a side dish of cubed cantaloupe, winter melon, and seedless red grapes completed the presentation. The stir fry's serving is large and delicious with the veggies retaining a bit of crunch. Everything is wheelchair accessible. Booth, counter and patio seating are available. Coffee is free if your car is being serviced. It's "kina-like" being at an auto show. Seeing and smelling the new cars and...dreaming. "Make mine a veggie sandwich, fries, diet Coke, and a carbonized gray, Mustang Mach-E, please." STUFF: The restrooms are located at the edge of Galpin's showroom. There are two ways to get there: climb a couple of steps, exit through the door into the showroom, and keep to your right. The restrooms are across the floor on your right. Or, if in a wheelchair, roll down the eatery's flat unmarked short hallway, Ask your server to point the way.
Exceptional service today! Yahaira my server was A-MAY-ZING!!! She was bubbly, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She’s a SUPER hard worker and was running around juggling like 9 different tables and didn’t miss a beat! I ordered the Galpin Cobb Salad which was HUGE… Nice balance of greens, meats, cheese, egg, etc. It was an extremely tasty Cobb Salad… I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s going to be in the North Hills/Van Nuys area for lunch or dinner… Apparently, they have live music sometimes as well, tonight was one of those nights!
Damn, this diner delivers. Clean and bright indoor and outdoor spaces. Excellent service. Very convenient location to Galpin if you’re getting your car serviced or shopping around the area. Good coffee. Every bite we had was pro. I didn’t even know I was hungry. And then my plate was clean. The shrimp/lobster linguine was a smash. Chicken tacos were fresh and delicious and the fries were hot and crispy, but not oily. For the spicy folks—get a side of the habanero sauce they make for the tacos. It works on everything. :) Phenomenal all around, and my compliments to the chef(s).
The service ranges from old school diner (read: Flo) to lean at the counter and stare at you while talking to their coworkers (unless you work at the dealership or are a regular). A few servers have some hustle though. That said, the food is great and nice ambiance and kind of cute and retro. Would come back again, just don't be in a hurry or expect friendly service.
What a hidden gem! My buddy Eddie took me to the Horseless Carriage, a restaurant inside Galpin Ford in the San Fernando Valley, and I was blown away. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich, and it was absolutely amazing—tender, flavorful, and perfectly done. I couldn’t believe how clever it is to have a full restaurant inside a car dealership. Even if you’re not there to buy a car (we weren’t), it’s absolutely worth stopping in just for the food and the unique atmosphere. Highly recommend this spot—you won’t be disappointed!
For the price, it's one of the best deals for a steak dinner. The prime rib was juicy with seared ends...cooked to perfection. A choice of soup or salad, potatoes, and a dessert (get the coconut cream pie) all for under $20 on weekdays only. The atmosphere was classic LA coffee shop/diner. Highly recommended!
The food here is absolutely fantastic. It's like eating at a five-star restaurant with casual atmosphere and without the five-star price. The service is equally fantastic with very friendly staff.
This review is long overdue. We came here in August when purchasing our vehicles. Right away I was charmed by the quaint decor of this diner-style restaurant. The menu was also very impressive. We had some things off the happy hour menu and the lunch menu. Hands down, the best carne asada fries I've ever had!!! We've come back a handful of times since. The service is always amazing, the food is always fresh, and the people helping us are always friendly and fast. But, we were really impressed when we came the week before Christmas to redeem a voucher. The place was packed, people waiting in line for take-out orders, and staff was running from table to table. I was concerned that the service or food quality wouldn't be up to par. Boy was I wrong!!! Everyone greeted us, sat us down quickly, our food arrived just as quick, and all staff communicated with each other. The new menu items were a great addition to an already fantastic offering! Being a retail worker, my family time during the holidays is precious. They made my experience so pleasant, I had to communicate it to the managers, Geovanni and Anthony. It was a team effort, from the cooks in the kitchen to the bussers and servers! We will be back soon!
Great atmosphere, food, fantastic and thoughtful service. Our server, Naomi, waited for us to finish our main meal to place order for waffles so they can be warm when they arrive. Again, very thoughtful and outgoing. The restaurant is warm and has a lot of light — a perfect place for breakfast. There were no lines when we arrived around 11 AM, and it was easy to park.
I was introduced to this fantastic restaurant while negotiating a deal on a new Ford in the adjacent showroom. It is a very clean and well kept. It is also nicely "preserved" in the state it was when it opened in the mid 1960's. Food quality and service was excellent. Everything was fresh and presented well. The pies are made right in the kitchen, and are of award winning quality. Pricing was very fair and reasonable. I really look forward to my next time at the Horseless Carriage!
What a cool diner styled restaurant. Located in between dealerships and attached to the Ford dealer. The food was pretty good. Presentation was great and portions were generous. No complaints at all. The standout was our waitress. She was so friendly and helpful with everything and even gave us recommendations on what she usually would get. It was a little confusing at check in as you seat yourself anywhere but there are no signs indicating that. Other than that, a must try if youre waiting for your car or just driving by.
Horseless Carriage restaurant is an American diner located at the Galpin Ford dealership serving up large portions of old fashioned and modern comfort food for reasonable prices. I came to visit Galpin Ford recently after visiting the nearby Sepulveda VA center to look at a pickup trucks for my elderly veteran friend's 5th wheel. Afterwards we were in the mood for a good old fashioned American breakfast and this place really hit the spot! Pass the big American flag just east of the dealership where a cute sunny patio, counter seating, cozy booths and well spaced tables are all available and wheelchair accessible. There's an early bird breakfast special which offers light breakfast for under ten dollars for early risers. We ordered French toast with eggs, bacon and sausage. The French toast was drenched in eggy batter, the bacon was lean and crispy, the eggs were cooked to perfection. Our server was friendly and service was fast. Everything was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant to you fellow world travelers. Fun inside scoop. I was in a band when I was teenager and the owner of this dealership was often in the crowd singing along. He's an awesome guy. I'm not surprised this restaurant is so beloved by everyone!
I’ve been eating at the Horseless Carriage almost every week for the last 15 years and it’s always the best service! The food is amazing and their menu never disappoints. They have everything from great salads to dining options. I usually try the daily specials which they always prepare with nothing but the best taste and ingredients. And to top it off, their staff are always welcoming. Feels like right at home :)
Melissa K was my server. Me and a buddy came in for work from Florida and she was super friendly. She gave us ideas to do around the city as its our first time here and we will be visiting often for work. She is the best! Food was amazing!!! Cant wait to return!
The Horseless Carriage isn’t just a diner—it’s a time capsule with an engine. Built into the beating heart of Galpin Ford, it’s the kind of place where you can order a burger, drink your coffee, and still feel the hum of a showroom filled with Mustangs just a few steps away. I had the Black and Blue burger—perfectly charred, the blue cheese melting into the beef like it had been waiting for this moment its whole life. My dad went for the steak, cooked spot-on, the kind of straightforward plate that doesn’t need theatrics to impress. Service? Friendly without being cloying. You get the sense that everyone here is part of the same machine, tuned and polished over decades. After lunch, Beau Boeckmann himself walked us through the 2025 Mustang GTs—sleek, fast, and unapologetically American. Only at Galpin can you go from a forkful of blue cheese-laced beef to running your hand along the fender of a car you didn’t even know you wanted until that moment. Come hungry. Leave dreaming of horsepower.
We had the French toast as an appetizer and it was really good. Then we had the lobster & shrimp linguine — it was full of flavor, and the shrimp were so fresh and juicy. The next dish was the deluxe cut Angus prime rib, which came with fries and soup. I loved it! By the way, the service was good too!
I would say it’s one of the best diners in the valley. I drove up from West LA specifically for breakfast today and was really impressed for my first time visit. It’s your true retro LA style diner complimented with friendly service and delicious food. Our server was honestly fantastic and all of our items arrived quickly after ordering them. I also love the design on the inside, it’s the retro 50’s era old diner that you would expect full of booths and counter seating. They have a free parking lot attached otherwise street parking is easy to find as well. We started off with the homemade Coffee Cake and it was terrific. Coffee Cake is one of my favorite desserts and honestly this was one of the better ones that I’ve had in a long time. I would highly recommend it. For my meal, I had a glass of their orange juice because they make it in-house and have a giant machine right behind the counter so I had to try it and it was delicious as expected. For my meal, I chose the Pork Belly Eggs Benedict and thought it was great. The hollandaise sauce was homemade and not the canned type and the pork was crispy, but also flavorful. The hashbrowns on the side were also done exactly as I like them. Overall, it was a fantastic meal. I would highly recommend to anyone searching for a great diner, breakfast, or lunch option. I plan to be back soon and I’m eager to try more items.
Authentic Italian food served fresh and hot by the wonderful people at The Horseless Carriage Restaurant. ❤ I love the individual personalized service they provide. The employees are truly good hearted people struggling to make ends meet and pay their bills. 😢 No matter how troubling times are out there in the world, The Horseless Carriage provides everything you need for a family buffet of gourmet entrees, grilled vegetables and fresh antipasto salad for an exceptionally reasonable price! Try stopping by for lunch or dinner sometime and give thern a try, but if you LOVE breakfast, you MUST eat here. Voted #1 breakfast, and they decidedly deserve the award.
If any place has adapted to the Covid restrictions currently in place for restaurants in Los Angeles this place is the absolute gold standard. You have several stations were sanitizer is available to you, the service staff are all appropriately mask and taking every precaution to provide good service as well as safe service. The menu instead of receiving a paper one you simply scan a QR code with your smart phone, unless you don’t have one which some people do not steal, they actually have a safe and sterilized paper menu you can review which will be thrown away promptly after you’re done, and make your order. The service staff does a wonderful job of grading you making sure you have whatever warm beverage you like or cold beverage, my order was taken within five minutes of getting there the outdoor seating is wonderful, it’s appropriately spaced and the seats are appropriately placed. Now let’s get to the food, the food is absolutely incredible I wasn’t sure what I would expect to get from a restaurant does the social part of one of the most famous and Weltzer auto dealership families in the state. But if you want pork belly eggs Benedict, you can find a better example here the fruit is fresh and you can smell it almost like it was slice early today or… Even an hour ago. The chop salad literally glowed with green and freshness and the dressing is wonderfully placed in because it’s a chain to the pallet that makes your mouth water. But for me nothing beats the breakfast bagel sandwich with sausage… I can only eat like this very sparingly because of my way but all the way to lose I sure you I would enjoy getting it all back eating here the sausages fresh and juicy the eggs are a wonderful complement with the cheese on top and some catch-up put it between two bagels and you want to go anywhere else. I’ve been there three times, and all three servers, along with their buses have been nothing but friendly and attentive and I was checked on at least once every 5 to 7 minutes, it did not bother me once again the gold standard need not be sought out, you found it here!
It might seem unlikely that a dinner inside a car dealer could be any good, but you'd be wrong. So far over the past 5 years I've been there 2 or 3 times per month and the food has been great, classical dinner food with a few surprised such as lobster omelet. It can be a bit noisy and busy, but food never disappoints and prices very reasonable. As for parking, plenty. Just park on West side of bldg if east side is full . Also service is very good, efficient and fast. A small hidden gem, good place to meet and not be rushed. Also, there is a meeting room good for about 8 people.
Wow, I was pleasantly surprised. My wife said let's go eat there and I said "at the dealership restaurant?!?! I was thinking "how good could this be?" Nice enough 50's style diner vibe. First off, the wait staff were SUPER friendly and attentive to our needs. Really noticed that. We orderd off the standard American diner fair menu, breakfast in this case. I have to say I was blown away with how good the meal was. Simple Pancakes, eggs and bacon, but DAMN it was tasty. And the coffee was also outstanding. I'm sorry I went in with a predisposition of an average to poor experience. It was totally the opposite. Very, very enjoyable. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the parking. Small lot, LOTS of cars wanting to park cause it's a Ford dealer/service center so, ya, parking was really a pain. But over all good experience, especially if your getting your car repaired it's a no brainer.
The place was very busy when we first showed up and the service wasn't great at the beginning. I ordered the Belgian waffles with strawberries which was pretty amazing! The place was relatively clean and the only parts that were messy was because of the business. Elizabeth, our original waitress, was inattentive and failed to satisfy our needs. She was later replaced by Anthony who was amazing.
I usually only post when I want to give a restaurant five stars. I prefer not to disparage any place of business. This restaurant though is consistently delicious. If you have to try one thing and you have a sweet tooth get the Belgian waffles they are the best I've had anywhere. All the other food is good but not exceptional which is why I gave it four stars. This is one of those don't knock it until you try it kind of places.
Well designed, preserved, clean, diner experience. Very 60/70s feel. With a nice menu for a diner. Great patio even though it is on a very busy road and in a car dealership. The food was good and the service was excellent. We would come back.
Overall good food, but the customer service was better before. I called to place an order for pickup, but I ended up eating inside of the restaurant and I asked for some drinks. They were not busy: they were fully staffed.(it seemed to me) I didn't get offered a refill or asked if I needed anything else. A paid approximately $50.00 for a meal for two people; the quality of the food was 5 stars. The servings were good, but the service was awful.
Our server was wonderful! What a fun atmosphere, very 50's diner. I had a Giovanni salad and wow...so much food. Everyone said their food was delicious and quite a few took food home.
Not too bad, but I don't think I'll be going back. The food is standard fare for a diner, and it was kinda loud in there. The noise isn't usually an issue for me, so maybe I only noticed because service was so slow for seemingly no reason.
Food is great here. Always fire great quality. Service is a hit or miss. You either get the 5 star or you get that 1 star wait for 1 hour for your food.
I’m giving this place 4 stars, only because it’s pretty outrageously expensive for what it is. But the food is absolutely delicious, service is great and I love an old fashioned diner. Unfortunately, I refuse to pay that much for breakfast :(
Galpin was kind enough to invite and pay for our dinner at the Horseless Carriage. Prompt service and clean environment. Food was pretty good. If your looking for a cool retro dinner or just grabbing a bite to eat while purchasing or servicing a vehicle, the Horseless Carriage might be just what the doctor ordered.
Today we visited the Horseless Carriage Restaurant in Van Nuys, California — a truly charming and nostalgic spot tucked right inside an auto dealership. The moment you walk in, you’re transported back in time. The décor is a warm throwback to the 1950s and ’60s, with classic diner touches that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a piece of history. There’s a comfortable buzz in the air — the kind of place where you can imagine families and car enthusiasts gathering for decades. The food was absolutely on point — hearty, flavorful, and cooked just right. Though the service was a bit on the slow side, the relaxed atmosphere and vintage vibe more than made up for it. Between the retro charm, the good food, and the nostalgic setting, it’s one of those rare local gems that feels like stepping into another era — in the best way possible.
A nice-quite simple diner at a local Ford Dealership in North Hills. The food tastes good, The refreshments taste nice as early in the morning. The breakfast burrito is nice, alongside the salsa. The Hushbrowns taste good as regular, and the Corn beef, it's a shape of a patty, and it tastes great. I enjoy this place.
Food was great but service was horrible. If you sit at the outside tables, you get ignored most of the time. I had to track someone down for a coffee refill and to get my check. I probably could have honestly left without paying and no one would have noticed.
Great food, but VERY overpriced. Also, very limited parking (street sweeping in mornings 10-12 on Monday and Friday) Almost 6 dollars for orange juice and almost 20 dollars for an omelet! For two people each ordering a breakfast entree and drink, it was $50... $60 including tip. There's a Denny's right across the street and plenty of parking there. Probably a better option fo dining.
The food here is actually really really good The thing that kills it is the service, The waitresses are not super busy but if you sit out front it's hard to get them to come back out to give you refills or check on you mind you it's not a very big restaurant. For example I went in the other day after picking up my car to get a burger and fries there was a guy standing there with his arms crossed leaning up against the counter and a woman that was running the register just standing there Restaurant not very busy at all maybe three other people. I had to wait 5 minutes for the lady to come over and acknowledge me after the man standing against the counter said I had to wait for her I don't know what he was doing or why he could take the order.
Service is good and restaurants looks clean. However the food isn't that good. I got the Black & Blue Burger and there was no blue cheese on my burger, bacon was hard and not edible and the bun tasted artificial so I took out just the beef patty to eat. Even that had zero flavor besides the gas of the grill. Had high hopes but left disappointed.
The Horseless Carriage restaurant is owned and operated by the Galpin Ford dealership. Generally Good, buy today I got the old bait and switch car game on a corned beef sandwich. Menu said "Corned beef piled high on rye bread." I wasn't expecting a New York deli sandwich but I was anticipating more then 3 slices of meet. Galpin, you need to have your Horseless Carriage restaurant work on truth in advertising, just say'n I returned it and got a BLT.
We used to love this place! We stopped by for breakfast. The eggs were perfect, the bacon was not crispy as requested and potatoes were burned. We substituted bagels instead of toast and agreed to be charged extra, but were shocked to find out it was 3 dollars extra per bagel. The salsa used to be amazing and was disappointing. So, without any beverages other than water, $35 for a basic breakfast for 2 and that's $40,00 with tip is outrageous! Really guys? The service was excellent but with the quality of the food down and the price through the roof, we won't be back!
A very disappointing experience. Not only is the food way too expensive for what you get (even by today's standards), but it's very bland and unremarkable. The fajitas tasted like whoever made the recipe has never had Mexican food or even tex-mex in their life, and was closer to pot roast. I really wanted to like this place, the location and decor inside are cool, and the service was fine. But the food, and even more so the price is a rip off.
Reading all the good reviews seems like a good place but unfortunately today was not a good experience. My family and I came in around 11:45 am. Took about 5 minutes to order our food and we literally did not get our food until around 12:50. As unbelievable it sounds this is true! Some of the food was slightly under cook and some was over cooked. Silver ware was dirty! The waiters here were slight rude and inattentive.
I have been going there for over 10 years and it was always good but lately the food is very poorly prepared and lost its great taste I just picked up something today. The sandwiches tasted terrible. The fries tasted like it was old and a salad did not taste any better very disappointing as I paid for two sandwiches and two salads almost $100 so this is not cheap but definitely not good anymore. I’m very disappointed and I hope that the management read my review so that they can make some changes over there.
Server/hostess has an attitude never greeted us when we we came in very aggressive personality. I waited more than 20mins And when table is ready she basically just pointed her fingers where table was didn’t even assist us to the table and sit down. After we ate server just bring the machine and want me to just tap my CC without showing me the receipt first so I ask if I can see my bills receipt first and she did handed me after a minute but unfortunately she pointed me and want me to just pay at front seems like she doesn’t want to do the payment process. Also wanted to bring this concern to the owner of this Restaurant that I was overcharged in my 3 orders, good thing I checked and made them to correct the bill. The hostess who assisted me second time was still very aggressive and trying to showed her that I was over charged die the menu says it is only 20/order but she seems like she doesn’t like me to show where the price was as she acting like she knows everything and didn’t even apologize to me. Service was very bad!!!!! and be careful for what you eat and pay as they are not showing the receipts and made you pay right away without showing your bill.
