At the time of my visit to Los Cuco's it was my mom's birthday which made the experience there that more enjoyable cause as you can see they put a sombrero on her and sang to her along with giving her some sopapilla for her birthday as well. The service there is very excellent and our server was courteous, friendly and always made sure that everything was going well with us and even though it might be a little pricey but it's worth every bit of it and I would recommend Los Cuco's to all my friends and family.

The best part of today's visit (my opinion) was our server Emma. I mentioned coffee and BAM, I had coffee. She made at least 3 trips to check on us. My husbands tea was refilled quickly. The food was great as it always is. Love the decor and the whole feel of the place. It's one of my top 3 picks as to where we go to eat but Emma made today's lunch/dinner date with my husband really awsome. Thank you Emma for for being the awsome smile we needed today.

Wednesday was my son's birthday and we celebrated his 23rd with a group of 10. All parties were delighted with the awesome food and good service!👌👍🎉

This was my second visit here, I had a very pleasant first visit and was recommended by family to try the fajitas next so my husband and I came by today on Valentine's Day and ordered their special the plato cupido for $54.99! It's definitely plenty to feed 2 and came with chicken & beef fajitas, half rack BBQ ribs, chicken quesadillas, grilled shrimp with yummy sauce, and of course rice & beans with freshly made tortillas. We also had leftovers. Definitely coming back whenever I'm in the mood for delicious tender fajitas! 10/10 recommend, especially on Valentine's :)

Came here for dinner and it was jammed packed. We decided to sit at the bar because we were able to sit quickly. The bar tenders were very friendly and very attentive. The service was very good and the food was delicious, I got the chicken quesadillas and my wife got the chicken and beef Mexican bowl which she loved. We also had chips and salsa and a green sauce that was delicious. Over all it was a very good experience and I would highly recommend to stop in here for a good meal. The wait for food was bad at all it was quick service.

To tell you that my family and I were satisfied with our visit to Los Cucos would be an understatement. This was our first visit after driving a little over an hour to the area for some shopping. TexMex sounded pretty good, so we looked on the map and found this gem. Initially there wasn't a crowd but it was early in the evening. We were greeted by a polite hostess and seated immediately. The atmosphere was pleasant, and they had televisions in plenty of places for the sports fan to watch the games and the decor fit Texas. The menu has quite a few options. I always order the same thing wherever I go to assess the quality of the food, and that is chile relleno and tamales. I was impressed with the quality of the food. The meat was so flavorful in the tamales and may be one of the heartiest tamales I've ever had. The relleno was fresh and hadn't been doused in batter allowing for the full flavor of the pepper. Highly recommend giving Los Cucos a visit.

My first time to Los Cucos. The food was really good but let me talk about the service! My waitresses name was Shana and she was amazing! They were pretty busy but she waited on us like we were the only table she had. I work in the food service industry as well and I have to say that this was the best service I've ever had in my 53 years on this earth. Shana is funny and attentive, and to top that off she has an incredible singing voice! They just happened to be doing karaoke that night and she got to sing a song when she slowed down a bit. This girl can SING, y'all. Why she hasn't been signed for a record contract I have no idea. It literally gave me goosebumps. I was a little mad at myself for not recording it. BUT, I liked it so much that I went back the next karaoke night and got her on video. I attached a bit of it, I hope it stays... She's incredible. Y'all go see her, for her service or her singing. It's worth the trip just for that. 💯💖

The food here was very delish. The surprise was the refried beans and rice. They were packed with flavor and not bland like most places. The prices aren't bad if your smart me and wife ate with appetizer dip for 25.00. Highly recommended of you like Mexican food this is a great spot.

Excellent lunch experience. The service was outstanding, and the meal was delicious. I had the Make Your Own Enchiladas plate. One Enchilada Verde, one Ground Beef Enchilada with refried beans and mexican rice, and salad. I added a Crispy Ground Beef Taco. Pink lemonade for my drink. The whole meal starting with the chips and green and red salsa both very spicy (which I really enjoyed, if this was available in the store I would always buy it) was very good. The plates were both hot when the food was served. The Enchilada Verde had huge chunks of chicken. If I had any complaint, it would be that I would have asked for extra refried beans and mexican rice.

All I can say is WOW!! Started off with Queso Flameado- sooo good!! The tortilla are NOT just homemade but prob THE best I’ve ever had!! Also ordered the Fajitas - niceeee and sizzling! Our server EMMA… you couldn’t ask for anyone better. Super attentive, always checked on us, made SURE everything was good and super nice!! Outstanding experience!! A MUST try if you’re in the area. For all my truckin folks, just a short Uber from the Pilot. Lol

I can't wait to go back! This is the first tex-mex restaurant in the area that I can say I really like!! They food was amazing! The service was friendly and very good. It would be great if they had enough staff to open the patio, but I understand....it's a huge restaurant! I loved their green salsa and we asked for a spicier salsa, they have a medium spicy habanero salsa that we very good. We actually mixed the habanero salsa into the green salsa and for me it was heaven! I ordered the chicken Florentino. It comes with rice, a cup of soup and spinach stuffed chicken topped with avocado, pico de Gallo and salsa. I also ordered a frozen sangria berry margarita to share. Everything was excellent! Our waiter was so friendly and attentive too.

Hubby and I ate here when it first opened and didn't like it (4 years ago). We decided to revisit today and found it quite good! Hubby ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp (delicious!) and I chose the beef and cheese enchiladas with chili gravy. It was all very good. Attentive wait staff. Only thing is we wish they offered good old cold salsa dip. They offer for free chips and warm green salsa which was good and a creamy avocado salsa. They are a little pricy but worth the awesome food selection!

For a party of 16, the staff did great. They were very attentive. The waitress did a fantastic job. All of our food was hot and tasted great. Noone had a complaint. Only minor issue is that It is on the expensive side for Tex-Mex, $2.50 for one bacon wrapped shrimp. Other than that everything was perfect.

They should speak for themselves. Makes me want to visit more often. Addressing the high price complaints: You get what you pay for. For food I really enjoy, I’m willing to drop an extra couple of dollars. I’ve paid less in comparable places, and that’s exactly what I got - less. At least try it once, for yourself, before you decide. Get you some of that bad to the bone green sauce for your chips. You might even see me there…. I’ll be the big guy, with a look on his face which says “I ate way too much”.

The fried avocado chicken cheese balls are amazing, I've never tasted anything quite like it! The drinks are good and strong. Service is okay. They missed one of our entrees entirely, it never made it out, despite repeated asking and assurances that the missing meal would be arriving shortly, they did eventually remove it from the bill so at least we didn't have to pay for food we didn't get to eat.

Let's talk about Los Cucos. It is a place that I have visited only once before but I think I should go more often. A restaurant with a very cozy vibe, which welcomes you to relax and enjoy the company with the person you choose to go. The first thing I noticed was the lighting. The table where I sat had a lamp with an old and curious style. On several occasions, I only looked at the light bulb. Weird, right? But my curiosity just makes me keep looking at it. 🤷🏼‍♂️ That table with low light, which inspires an intimate and romantic moment with your partner. Since my arrival, I had a good welcome, and everyone was super attentive, something that is very important to me. Now let's talk about the food, I ordered the family appetizer, a chimichanga, tacos, and a frozen Margarita. The appetizer was good, but the meat they put on the nachos was what stood out on the plate. Lots of flavor, and super soft. The Chimichanga took me by surprise, also well cooked with a lot of flavor, making my experience with the food stay at a high level. I can compare the tacos with tacos from restaurants similar to Los Cucos; nothing special but good. The Frozen Margarita was just perfect and balanced. My experience at Los Cucos was one where I can highly recommend it. Like always, I'll rate Los Cucos based on my experience: Family Appetizer 4/5 ⭐️ Chimichanga 4/5 ⭐️ Tacos 3.7/5 ⭐️ Frozen Margarita 4.3/5 ⭐️ Service 5/5 ⭐️

Food tastes great, nice people, very clean and the atmosphere is western based with a touch of Mexican. If you really like hot sauce that does have a kick, ask for the habanero peppers and the house hot sauce.

I really like this restaurant, the atmosphere was unique, the employees were unusually friendly, the manager was everywhere helping maintain the restaurant's vitality. The enchiladas have a very unique taste, more on the cilantro side. The red hot sauce was warm, had some black chunks in it. Not to bad, the Dr pepper was sweet and good. Prices were a little higher than I care to pay.

Had a wonderful lunch with family here. The waitress went above and beyond to make sure all our dining needs were met. As far as price, not so bad for a group of 7.

Late last minute dinner. The queen was amazing and the home made chips that went with it were fresh and yummy. The temperature of the food was not as hot as we expected. The quesadilla was wet on the bottom indicating it had been sitting for a bit. Overall not bad but not our favorite.

I ordered deep fried avacafo, stuffed with beef fajitas + a chicken enchillada + rice + refried beans that came with a small tortilla soup. The food came VERY quick.... They should have kept it a little longer...youll see in a minute. Wifes soup was smoking hot...lots of chicken and a huge bowl. Mine was "warm to cool"...the salsa theyd given us,with chips was actually hotter than anything in my plate. I told the waitress my food was barely warm. She said "Im sorry" and wandered off. So I gave them a 3 for trying, but NOTHING like the experience in College Station. We wont go back, to much hassle and you have to bring your food home to nuke the hell out of it. If you zoom in on pic of the cut open avacado....youll see the cheese is barely melted....not runny like if it had been heated properly.

Our server Raven was amazing! Unfortunately two of us at the table ordered the beef fajitas. I usually don't like writing bad reviews, but the fajitas were very chewy and they would not come apart and had a gray looking color to them. Hopefully it was an off day. I just think the expediter should have at least performed a little bit of a pull test on them before serving them.

Had a chance to eat here June 1st. It was very packed which is expected due to them just opening. We were a party of six as well. We were seated at a table and I had to wait 30 minutes before we were able to order drinks, another 30 minutes before we could order food. It did take awhile for the food to get to us. I ordered enchiladas and they were cold and wasn't too good. The beef had a weird texture to it. It was a nice atmosphere though. I will probably go again later in the year. Our server never explained the happy hrs drinks, never stated there was 2 sizes, never started there was a charge for flavor, after dinner never came back to see if anyone needed or wanted another drink or water. Manager stated I should of known that information first time there and the last.

Three stars feels generous. The flour tortilla chips that came with our chili con queso tasted like they were fried in old oil, and the queso itself wasn’t great either. Honestly, nothing we ate really stood out in a good way. The service was fine, but I’d recommend saving yourself the disappointment and trying a different Mexican restaurant instead.

Arrived at 8:05p.m. Got seated at 8:15p.m. wich I was happy for as they weren't that busy. We sat there until 8:30p.m before I had to get up and ask for a waiter or waitress. The sweet lady at front asked a waiter that was on our side if he could help us that we have been here for quite some time without being even asked for our drink order. The waiter responded to her with "they don't like it...the can leave" very rude to the lady that asked him. She came to our table nearly in tears and was super apologetic and said she'd get someone soon. We then got a waitress that helped take our order at 8:40. It is now 9:59 and still have not received food. There is literally only 2 tables at this time! The worst service I have ever experienced. Drove from lampasas to eat at this place as the one in seguin is my wife's favorite where she grew up, so we decided to drive to waco to get her favorite dish. She received her chicken Ranchero tacos and she opened them up and one of the tacos had soggy chips in it and tiny amount of chicken. The waitress was very embarrassed. The other taco was very delicious as the carnitas were amazing too! Very clean establishment and food was pretty good as well. The service was very terrible besides the hostess, and the waitress we finally received.

The food was average and the house margarita was alcohol flavored and nothing else. Ordered tres leche cake, it was delicious but, it was frozen in the middle. The service was the only thing that was not mediocre. Will not be back there if I get a choice.

Husband and I went out for a rare dinner date Saturday night also picking up a takeout meal for my 81 year old mother. We spent $77 plus tip for queso w/beef, 2 stuffed shrimp avocado meals and a platter for my spouse. The meals were mediocre at best after this being one of our go to spots. Sad to spend hard earned money for a bland mediocre meal. The best part was just enjoying one another's company.

Los Cuco’s in Waco is way different than any other location I’ve been too. All the other had great consistency with food portions & taste. - Decided to take the in-laws out on a Thursday evening and the only good thing was the chip and salsa lady giving us attention. - Fajitas were something out of a frozen package ( cold and tough ) -Flour tortillas were raw - Although My Daughter did like Drake and other hip hop music playing in a Mexican restaurant! NOT worth the $200 for 3 people

We placed a to-go pickup order around 12:20 PM on Thursday (12/18/25) and spent $41.10 total for three items: Large Chicken Fajita Nachos ($13.99) Large Chicken Quesadillas ($18.99) Kids Cheese Enchilada Plate ($4.99) This was weekday lunch time, yet no lunch specials or discounted pricing were applied, which made the experience feel even more overpriced for what we received. The order came out in one large tied bag. All three meals were sealed in their own containers, but the grease was excessive inside each food container, soaking into the food itself. On top of that, the two styrofoam topping containers leaked badly. We assumed the toppings would be separated (not crammed together) and that the containers would be leak-proof, but instead everything was mixed together and the liquid spilled throughout the bag. By the time we drove to Belton, the inside of the bag — including the chips and utensils — was submerged in leaked topping juice, while the food containers themselves were saturated with grease. The result was a soggy, messy, and completely unappetizing experience. The toppings were unusable since pico/tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole were all mixed together in one container per order. Very poor packaging for a to-go order. The kids cheese enchilada plate was another issue. It was covered in a spicy red sauce, and the rice had jalapeños mixed in, making it inappropriate for a child. The kid couldn’t eat it — only the refried beans were edible. The nachos were extremely greasy, and the cheese tasted slightly sour and different from the cheese used on the quesadillas, which was concerning. Nothing tasted fresh — just oily and heavy. By the time we arrived, we had to buy other food because this was not something we could eat. For what we paid, this felt overpriced, poorly packaged, and careless. The only ones who seemed to enjoy it were our dogs. Overall, this was a waste of money, and based on this experience, we would not return or recommend this place, especially for takeout. Also, we took pictures but for some reason the pics of the food error'd out and wouldn't show up... but the receipt is clear.

This was our second time coming here. The first time was great, but we were disappointed the second go round. Upon entry, there was a very unpleasant odor that was reminiscent of sewage. Service was friendly but very slow considering we were one of only three tables. The food was okay; I liked mine but my wife was not impressed. We went to lunch. It took an hour to get our food. It was the best Mexican food that I have ever had. The drinks were mediocre. Everything was overpriced compared to other restaurants. But lunch on a Saturday when they were not busy took 90 minutes. We will not being going back. There are other options for Mexican food.

Absolutely the worst mexican food we've had in years. Poor quality, overcooked, and extremely dry. The manager took food away and still charged full price. Highly recommend going somewhere else. Not worth the wait. Side note, wife says best margarita in town.

My wife and I ordered mixed fajitas with shrimp. The food came out but no tortillas. We asked one of the servers to bring the tortillas. We waited at least fifteen minutes, and had to ask again. I'm assuming it was a manager that finally brought the tortillas, but the food was cold he then. He reheated the food but didn't replace the food which I would guess is a no no. Needless to say the shrimp was rubber after the second reheat. A waste of time and $70. We only ate few bites.

Well, there was mold on the menu so not a great start. I can’t comment on the food because we were only ever served guacamole (ordered a small and it came served with the biggest piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion on top, really weird). We sat for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to greet us and get our drink order. After the waiter brought our drinks and guacamole he just disappeared. 15 minutes later I decided we were done waiting and left.

Last week my daughter and I went to eat at Los Cucos Waco. Walked in and were greeted promptly. Ordered our food and everything was great, I ordered Chicken Chimichangas. Food came out quick and our server was delightful. They set the plates down on the table and handed us the little plastic package with plasticware inside. I opened mine up and attempted to stick the form in my food and use the plastic knife to cut. I was really struggling with these toy utensils, so I asked my server for some real silverware to which she responded, "I'll have to get my manager". that's when the problem started. A few minutes go by, and some lady approached my table and said verbatim "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?" Yes, there was some attitude. I assumed she was the manager however she didn't identify herself. I shrugged it off and asked for silverware or at least something better to use. Her response was it is against the law and CDC guidelines for them to provide real silverware. If it had not been for her poor attitude I would not have responded with "really, I ate Cracker Barrel yesterday and Texas Roadhouse the day before that and they provided silverware". The manager said, "I WILL NOT BREAK THE LAW FOR YOU, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU DO". At this point I picked up my food with my hand and asked for a napkin. We should have left but we didn't, so we finished eating and left the server a $15. tip. As we were leaving the manager (Corina Flores) thanked my daughter for coming to which my daughter replied, "aren't you going to thank my dad, he's the one that paid?" Corina's response was "I HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE THAT IS RUDE! Again, I shrugged it off and went out the door. As we approached the car my daughter said that pissed her off and went back inside. She asked Corina for her managers name, and she said she was not allowed to provide that information, if she wanted it, she would have to google it. When we got home, I did google it and wrote a nice email to corporate, but it's been a week and no response. I guess they don't care what they have representing their company. Pretty disappointed because I really liked the food.

Today we went to eat we're because we love the food however I have to shade our bad experience today. We had to leave back home and our server was taking for ever, we asked for aguas frescas they didn't had any we ask for Jarritos didn't had any but she told us after she took our drink order we decided to leave and pay the drinks cuz we had to leave and they never to our food order so I payed the drinks and guess what they charge me extra and the lady our server was mad. I'm the one supposed to be mad they charge the drinks I didn't order cuz they did have them available. We will think twice before coming.

The food was to dry and no flavor do not recommend going to this place. I prefer to go to eat at a tacos truck then eating here. I do not know what happened, but the food, service, and atmosphere is not the same anymore. Plus food is not Mexican food anymore it reminds me of more of a tex-mex then anything else. Furthermore, the food reminds me of the time I eat the most disgusting food at my poor middle school.

I love Los Cucos in Houston area and have had great experiences with my job with setting up events for our employees. We were shocked that the food andnservice was terrible. on my husband's plate it was the dried up beans that tasted horrible. I got a grilled platter. The chicken and shrimp was so dried out. When I told him, he just didn't really say anything.Then the server charged us wrong and I said something about kids drinks being refilled and he made some smart remark that I should have asked. I went and talked to an assistant manager and he was understanding but server came and tried to argue about it. Horrible experience and I will stick to the Los Cucos in Houston.

Slowest restaurant ever waited a whole hr for food & they wasn’t even packed got full just off of sodas refills

I order carry out 2 orders steak fajitas for 2 over $100. I was extremely disappointed the meat wasn't the same in the past low grade. Its wasn't tender or had a good taste. I live in dallas and everytime we're in waco we stop. Yesterday was a disappointed for the money we paid.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. My husband and his coworker came here for the first time today— and it will definitely be the last. As he started eating his food, he suddenly felt something sharp in his throat. He pulled it out, only to find a twist tie embedded in his meal. Yes, an actual twist tie — the kind used to seal bags. He could have seriously choked. When he brought this to the attention of his server, instead of showing concern, the manager came over with an attitude, asking, "Is there a problem?" As if nearly choking on a foreign object in your food isn’t a serious issue. No apology. No accountability. They just casually asked if he wanted something else — as if that would fix the fact that there was literal trash in the food. No compensation was offered, no genuine concern was shown, and the overall response was beyond disappointing. The service was just as bad as the food — and the food wasn’t even good to begin with. If a twist tie made it onto a plate, I can only imagine what else is slipping through their kitchen. Save your time, money, and safety. This place should be ashamed.

In Los Cucos defense we did visit at 8:10 pm when they were closing at 9:00 pm. But no way we deserved such terrible service ! Like a bunch of teenagers running it who didn’t care just wanted to finish cleaning to close up. First let me say we were visiting Waco . Traveled Most the day and were starved. We ordered 2 beers and 2 Margaritas and an order of fajita nachos. That’s it. Guess they already closed kitchen because they brought us some chunks of chicken thrown on a tray of beans on tortilla chips! No sour cream no tomatoes? Nothing! And NOT BEEF After informing them it was wrong it didn’t matter. So we ate it after the brought us some color! Which means toppings I guess . I will never return and advise anyone to never visit after 8 pm. A $57.00 bill to be treated shabbily SHAME ON ME!

This was confirmed by the restaurant at the time of reservations and on prior occasions the manager has said this is no problem. The group has 12 people in it and so meals are bought for 12 people which half order alcoholic beverages as well. The group also pays a 20% gratuity. This is perfect, but we had a server who decided he didn’t want to take care of the group and would interrupt the game being played frequently and trying to rush us out. He even went as far as telling us that they are closing early. The server mentioned his name is Fernando A. but when asked to remind me of his name he lied and states his name is Javier. We let them know we would be out by 9pm and we had previously confirmed we had till 9pm and the server states “that if we ever come back no server will take care us our table” then states “your not wanted here”. This group plays a card game and we sit in the back we clear our dishes off and clean up after ourselves at the end. All that’s left is a couple glasses and to finish cleaning the area. This is highly rude and an inappropriate way to care for customers. I would never in a million years eat or recommend this restaurant to others. Fernando A was a terrible server and very rude and inappropriate throwing a “baby fit” because he had to stay and do his job. As for the food it was ok, the area near the bathroom smells of sewerage so this is a turnoff when eating at a restaurant. So all in all I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I think that the staff and the smell is a overwhelming amount of evidence that you should beware of going there.

My very first time eating here and it's gonna be the last. The experience was absolutely horrible. We asked for extra cups of salsa for each of us at the table. The waitress said it was gonna be an extra charge. Salsa!?! My friend ordered a corn tortilla burrito and you couldn't tell the difference. It looked like a flour tortilla. I ordered a refill of my drink and the waitress didn't tell me that it was a extra charge!!! Imagine my surprise when it showed up on the receipt. Not worth coming to eat here again.

I would like to start off by saying this is normally one of our favorite spots however the other night we came here for a birthday party. Right off the bat got a long hair in the first drink we ordered, let that go. Then we were eating the green salsa they offer and got down to the bottom, another hair that looked like chest hair. I can see finding one hair and it being an accident but this was ridiculous and gross to say the least. The draft beers everyone at our table ordered were hot, our food portions came out horribly small compared to normal and our charro beans were cold. We made this aware to both waitress and manager, all we got was a sorry and a dessert made (as if I wanted more food with hair in it). The least they could’ve done was comp the bill. I’m not sure if ownership/management has changed but this was the worst experience we’ve had here and we will not be returning.

Large party experience. The food was good. The problem is service was the worst I/we have EVER EXPERIENCED. We, as a party, had to get someone else to ask the server to come back for drinks. We had to get our own silverware for the cake. The tickets were wrong. The tickets included a tip. If I could, I would give negative stars. Just don't come in as a party because servers know tips are included.
