Great place to try some great beers from around the world. The bottle shop prices are often better than bevmo and it's also a great bar.
Just Terrific. So good. Highly recommend. You know, I like beer and they have really, really huuge selection of beer. Grab 'em by the bottle or draft.
Great local pub with about taps of out of the ordinary beers local and otherwise and knowledgeable staff. Nice selection of beers to take home too.
Related to the Trappist and Mikkeler, this place is a a little slice of beer geek heaven. Bartenders are knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoy.
Always a great place to go for a few drinks ! They always have something good even for my husband and I who don't drink IPAs
Awesome place to have a beer and meet new people. Would highly recommend going here if you want great quality beer and great service.
if you like the cozy atmosphere of a tavern and a delicious variety of beer, you will definitely like this place
Beers on tap, bottles to go and you can get a Skipolinis Pizza brought over from next door too! Staff there knows craft beer and are very friendly.
Great place for a beer, good beer! And you can bring in food too.
If you like wide selection of small craft beer go here. Its quiet, clean, and excellent customer service
Great brewpub. There's a wide selection of beer on-tap, and I really liked the tavern-style decor.
Awesome and laid back, there is a wide selection of draft or bottled beers. Love this place and love the location.
Great beer selection with a specialty in stouts and Belgians from what I could tell on my first visit. 21 and older only.
Sat at the bar and enjoyed liquid hops and good conversation. A decent selection of craft beers; there is something here for everyone!
LOVE this place! Excellent beer collection, super chill vibe. You can get pizza from next door, grab some board games and hang out with your friends while drinking delicious beer. Chill at the bar and strike up a conversation with a stranger.
Dope venue! Great customers. Staff is friendly. Everyone laughed at my jokes. They do Comedy every first Thursday. Good beers also. Great spot. 5 STARS!!!!
Best bottle shop in the East Bay. Hands down. Occasionally carries Cantillion. Great selection of local craft beer and the food is decent for pub grub. Worth a stop if you love beer.
The beeristas are always great. They are good about answering questions and sampling out if you are not quite sure what you might fancy. There's plenty of seating weekday nights but good luck on the weekends. Not a big food menu either, skippolinis pizza next door does deliver there! (As long as they are still open for the night I think, I donxt know how the skipps thing works when they close for the evening.)
Some of the best beers found across the world. Rare beers on tap! Great atmosphere to relax and unwind.
Fantastic selection and knowledgeable, friendly staff, this is a great place to try interesting new beers. Can get very loud and crowded, but you can order a pizza from next door!
My first time there. Recomended for Allyson. I like the place, professional service and kind. There are a vast selection of beer and wine. The music is deeply american. A nice place to go. I will return for sure.....And prices good
Quality beer selection. Trivia on Wednesdays is a bit loud if the place is packed though.
Between what is on tap and in the refrigerated cases and open shelves, this bottle shop has a huge selection. I wish they had a system to track what is available in the refrigerated cases and shelves on line. The cheese flight with the beer flight was so good.
OL is awesome; a diverse and changing variety of craft beers for every taste. You can purchase bottles to go as well. Some food items in the menu are from neighboring restaurants, great idea.
Great people, inspired draft list of both regional and Belgian beers, and great pizza or street taco options to each side. Will become a regular destination for me.
Mellow beer garden type shop with ~15-20 beers on tap in a rotating selection, along with a few fridges stocked with cold items and another few racks of unchilled selection. If you're looking for a beer and a place to chill, hard to go wrong here
Great place for those who enjoy the taste of real beer. Excellent on tap selection. Friendly service is also a big Plus.
Awesome place, great selection of beers on tap. I am going to have to check out comedy and trivia night!
Excellent selections, cool vibe. Limited bites but you can also bring your own food. Perfect spot for Beer School
This place is cool. Was here on St Patrick's day and it had a good vibe. Cool merch in the shop too. Cool place to hang out with friends and have a beer or two (or more) in Walnut Creek.
Great bottle selection, allowed to open and drink there, and a small but high quality draft list. I found a couple beers I'd been looking for in the fridge and enjoyed them on the spot.
Very nice location to come hang out and have some drinks. Staff is very friendly and welcoming to all. A great spot.
They have a really great selection of beers from all over to purchase and take home. They also serve beer on tap and have a small menu for food. This is a really great hidden gem in downtown Walnut Creek. Love this place!
A perfect balance of variety and quality. You will encounter old favorites, up and coming breweries, and in all likelihood learn something new regardless of experience level. This place stands on its own...skipolinis next door takes it up three notches.
Amazing atmosphere and a wonderful selection of beers. Many taps available with something for everybody. And if you don't like what's on tap, there are lots of cold cans and bottles to choose from. The staff is all super friendly and happy to answer questions and help you find a beer you'll like. They also have lots of bottles and cans available to take home. This is my favorite place to get a beer in Walnut Creek, no doubt!
Beer was my menu on every occasion that I visited If you enjoy the atmosphere of a good cheers like corner bar this is a great place The special brew delivered by great hosts take me back to a time when a bar was the core social element of a great community
Yes. Classy. Moody. Very beautiful. The beer selection is beautiful and accommodating to all kinds of beer drinkers and enthusiasts. The place gets busy so the waiters aren't the fastest to get to, but they are always really nice and interested in the beer they serve. It's a great place for a date or just to hang with friends. Try the pepper pizza because its delicious and will melt your face with awesome. My favorite part is how they print their daily menu which changes and always seems to give a fresh selection of beer to choose from.
Probably my favorite beer spot in Walnut Creek. The atmosphere is cozy, with bar and table seating. Their beer on tap selections usually have good variety. They also have a TON of beer on shelves and in a refrigerator. The bottle shop beers have 2 prices, one to drink there and a lower price if you take it to go (usually a couple dollars less) Øl has several games like exploding kittens and cards against humanity if your looking to entertain a group.
Excellent craft beer tap room, not only do they have beer on tap, there's beer to go as well! Great staff, knowledgeable and friendly.
Pizza and great selection of beer. The pizza comes from next door restaurant and it is delicious. Beers that I often find trouble to find in other Brew pubs they often have it, and bartender is happy and knowledgeable to help you to find a tap beer that you enjoy or even come around to the fridge and help you to find a bottled beer. Atmosphere is relaxing to have a conversation with a few friends and often you can easily find a table
Best beer place in the Bay Area. 18 taps of literally the best craft brews in the world. Indoor and outdoor seating, consistently good service and friendly staff. A nice quiet, relaxed atmosphere
Wow. Wow. Also, wow. What a fantastic little spot. Phenomenal draft selection, great can/bottles choices to drink on site or to go, with separate prices for each as it should be. Visiting for work and have been here 4 times now, seeing maybe 6 different staff, all of them were friendly and helpful. The location is great, it's kind of hidden away but in a popular area (many food choices nearby). Warm, cozy and a good volume level. They have a good sized cold beer selection and even more on the shelves warm. You'd be hard pressed to come here as a craft beer drinker and leave without finding a lot you'd like to take home. Not sure about pricing, I'm visiting so I can't make any direct comparisons. I'm guessing a little pricey but honestly for what they're offering I'm not complaining. I'll be here numerous times during my stay and I'm glad I found them. Three thumbs up.
My favorite beer spot in Walnut Creek. They have a diverse list of great craft beer that rotates frequently as well as a curated bottle selection. And the vibe is completely chill; more like a coffee house than a bar. I've often brought a book to enjoy with my beer, and I've seen everything from laptops to board games from other patrons. They don't really have food, but you can order pizza from Skipolini's next door. Plus a host of "meet the brewer" events throughout the year.
Definitely a hidden gem for beer lovers in Walnut Creek. They offer a great selection of specialty and hard to find peers on tap, and in the bottle for retail sales. I wish they had a broader food selection but that's not why you come here. They have a very limited kitchen area with a corresponding limitation on food selection. But they made an arrangement with Skipolini's next door for a few pizza selections. But if you're looking for a great, relaxing place to have exceptional beers away from the typical Locust Street crowd, this is your spot.
Excellent place for beer lovers! Very good selection from their 18 taps and lots in coolers. If you want to eat there, pick up Mexican next door
Øl is an terrific place to stop to find great beers that are hard to find in other places. I particularly enjoy the stouts and porters that they stock. They seem to rotate through a lot of local beers so it can be a bit difficult to find the same thing twice, but that gives you an opportunity to try new things. Love the atmosphere.
I wasn't a fan before but recentklly I've discovered their can and bottle selection! Great value versus the tap. They have pretty unique tap options too. Really nice location, I'd expect more people outside with the weather warming.
Amazing beer selection. Great staff. Highly recommend.
One of my favorite places in the world. I miss it so much. Warm vibrations and amazing atmosphere. Topped off with amazing and personable humans giving amazing costumer service. Music is always amazing. And the BEER. Unique small batch, mostly local, brewers with a passion for the craft.
Exactly what a place like Walnut Creek needs, a great pub with a cool atmosphere and extensive beer selection. Eureka.
Great little beer cafe and shop that's hidden away. Decent selection of brew from all over the U.S. Staff was very friendly and helpful in suggesting beers that you might like. Really enjoyed trying the salted scotch ale from Middlebrow - ad astra. If they still have it try it! Thanks for the beer!
The Best, knowledgeable and thoroughly stocked craft beer cafe in the area. Every type of beer your heart desires, cider, pizza, great atmosphere, with personable and friendly staff. Every time I have gone in ive gotten something new, and I am never disappointed. Management has done a superb job.
Good selection of draft beers and they also have a little shop with an even bigger selection of bottled beer. The to-go prices are about 25% less than what you would pay to drink there. The noise level is average for a place like this. They play music but it is at a nice low level. Most of the existing noise comes from customers talking and laughing. Overall I really like the place. Whether you are interested in beer or just want to enjoy a night out, Øl is a great place to visit. By the way, Øl (pronounced oel) is Danish for beer. (it means 'oil' in German but that's another story)
Best beer selection in the East Bay of smaller craft brewers. Emphasis on limited distribution brewers and Belgian style. No TV so you need to speak with people, read the paper, or fiddle with your phone. Pizza available from next door, some chips, etc. both draft and bottles for consumption on site. And bottles to take out.
Met up with a group at skipollinis on a tuesday & quickly left as their beer selection SUCKS! This place is right next door & man were we all impressed. They have an incredible selection both on tap & in bottle. Liked the semi private little room back by bar. Can purchase cans/bottles to go! Server was very knowledgable, helpful & personable. Can bring in outside food. 21+! Wheelchair accessible. Highly recommend & will definatly be back!
Service and beer are fantastic! Come and try some very good taps that are rotating all the time, or share a bottle with friends! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
This place has a large bottle selection of unusual and varied beers from around the world, with several great beers on tap and a few wines and ciders for non beer drinkers. They also have a decent selection of non alcoholic craft beers in cans. They sell some small snacks, and they allow patients to bring in food from outside. In the past they have had live music, and they host pub trivia on Wednesday nights. My food rating is for their beer selection, since that is their specialty.
Great beer spot especially for Belgian beers. Their bottle and tap selection is amazing. I had a great experience here and plan on going back.
Fantastic selection of different beer types from around the globe, either on tap or in bottls/cans. Great vibe, relaxed customer base, and extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. A hidden gem and regular stop for any beer fans in the CoCo County/Diablo Area.
Great spot for craft beer. Draft options tend to be different from other local pubs, and they have a huge bottle selection. They also serve good paninis, and will order you pizza from next door.
I love this place. About 20 rotating taps, a well curated selection of bottles and cans for take home or enjoying on the venue. Small food menu of meat and cheese plates, but there are ample food options on the block and they are not averse to you bringing in a pizza from Skipolinis next door. Limited street parking, but there is a parking garage nearby and only a few blocks from the Walnut Creek BART station.
Cool little hole in the wall for a quick beer. They have comedy 1st Thursdays of the month and trivia every Wednesday. Lots of beer on tap and bottles n cans to go.
Great selection of beers but I wish they had mead. Good selection of sour on tap.
One of the best craft beer places in walnut creek area. Always a had good time here. Service is good. You can bring your own pizza here from skipollini next door.

Amazing beer selecion, friendly service.
Coolest staff and vibe, always a good time. This is the kind of place every city needs.
If you want great European or local beer and a relaxing place to enjoy said beer, this is the place for you. Ol has the best selection of beer in the area. Unique tappings that are changed out regularly and if there isn't anything on tap there are hundreds of delicious bottles to choose from. The bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable. Also, it is dog friendly inside. We come here multiple times per month.
Great selection of top notch beers on tap and many more in bottle. The bar tender was knowledgeable and helpful in making selections. It has the feeling of an off the path rathskeller in Germany. Prices on bottled offerings can get high as some are rare or uncommon in the US. We did not try any food. They post their taps on the Untapped app. A great place to try a beer you might not find anywhere else and have good conversation with a friend.
Probably one of the better craft beer bars in the Bay area. Great selection of beers ranging from Belgian ales to Trappist brews. The choices on tap are very good as well.
This place has a wonderful selection of beer to-go as well as a wide variety of beer on tap. The vibes are immaculate and Jake is the greatest!
This is a five star review from someone who doesn’t even like beer. The bartenders here are either very good at what they do or performing some kind of sorcery, but somehow they always manage to find something that I enjoy! The beer selection on tap and in the fridge is super broad, really high quality, and constantly changing; the atmosphere is laid back; you can bring your own food in; and dogs are allowed! Their regular trivia nights and other events are always a good time as well. Best taproom in the east bay🍻

great beer selection if you are in walnut Creek for a short time, this 'beer cafe' should be your only visit.
Excellent choice of craft beer. I love the bottled beer choice available. The seating area is nice and casual.
A cafe of beer! Like Starbucks for beer, you can work on laptop while enjoying a beer. No kids allowed. Good variety of choices. Wish they had Stienerboch tho.
Pronounced like the OL in COOL, this spot is a remarkable example of a european beer hall. It's fun and the little bottle shop is worth a peek, too.
Excellent selection of beers and ales with specials on tap on the board and bottles from every where. Plenty of parking since located away from the main streets.
Great place for a large variety of beer. The bottles are pricey but the draught beer is reasonable.
Friendly, cozy and kinda loud place with lots of good beer. Food menue very limited but the pizza is good. :-)
Expensive, but great beers. I came here with family and we had a fun time. Honestly, the prices kept most of us to one beer. If you are hungry, you can order a pizza to be brought in.
Well curated beer list and a decent selection of ciders but the small plates are pricey. The servers (Danny especially) are friendly, knowledgeable and personable.
Relaxed, friendly, clean, and a nice selection on tap. Can be tough to find a spot for four, so be prepared to make new friends! Live music Tuesdays.
The beer selection was unique and they had St. Bernardus Belgium beer! Delicious beers, great atmosphere, and trivia nights during the week!
Great little place to drink excellent beers from all over the world or the U.S. Can get a little boisterous and loud but not too bad. It's a clean well lit place to have a tasty brew.
Nice selection of canned beers and on tap. They Sold Pliny the Younger earlier this year. Staff are pleasant. Nice vibe, seating available inside and out. Only thing is sitting outside, some tables are right next to a garbage bin and smells like it. This place allows outside food with a coupe of good options, Tacos or pizza. Has or at least had trivia night on Wednesdays.
Been going here since they opened it way back when. An awesome addition to Walnut Creek, great dark atmosphere for having a drink. Good selections, but I personally think they could use a few more IPAs on the menu. It's great that they let you bring in a pizza from next door though. Can't beat that.
Big selection and variety of beers. It's a good sized place, but probably not great for bigger crowds. The beer and wine is great and you can bring in any outside food you want or order off their menu (including Skipolinis delivery from next door). Overall, a solid place for a beer selection that's different from every other bar in town.
Place is clean and has a good feel. Prices are a little on the steep side for the draft brews. Great variety of beers available. Plenty of bottles available if that's what you are looking for.
Wasn't expecting this beer list in WC! Good (not great) selection of taps and bottles. Take a look at their closeouts on the floor. Really good deals 😉 The food menu is small but enough to make you happy. The name Øl (beer in danish) is easy and sounds classy... it also reminds me of the danish brewery To Øl.

I've been coming to OL for years. Nice relaxed atmosphere with a little music. Jake and the staff are knowledgeable and are constantly sourcing great beer. Prices are a bit high, and I wouldn't mind seeing some happy hour specials.

5/20/13 SORRY ABOUT YOUR WINE GLASS So I guess I should be impressed by all the beers available here, but I'm not all that excited about this place. If I want a good beer variety in the future, I'll probably be more likely to drive to Port Costa than return here. The positives of our experience include that the server suggested a beer which I really enjoyed. My beer, husband's beer, a cheese plate and a couple glasses of wine totalled $48. I want service that parallels that price. We had to ask twice for the cheese plate and twice for one of the glasses of wine. I hate having to ask twice. Twice. The cheese plate did not have hummus (like the one pictured as the Cafe's first picture) and our crackers were awful (nothing like the artisan ones pictured in that same first pic). The cheese was okay, and there was lots of good olives and a couple cranberries on the plate as well. Not long after the plate arrived, a wine glass was knocked over and broke, spilling wine and glass around the table. The plate and wine were cleared which sucks because I know it was our fault, but lots of places will bring you another beer if you spill yours... or at least a partial beer (wine in this case). We didn't sit at the bar so perhaps our distant staff experience relates to this. I'll give it another try some other evening, but if I want a beer on a beautiful afternoon, I'm definitely going to Port Costa.
It was a really windy and rainy day so I asked if my wife and son can stand inside by the door while I pick up a beer to go. Regrettably my son was not allowed to enter the establishment. I get it. Laws are laws and everything is clearly posted, but in this day and age I can get high quality beer from around the world in several child-friendly locations. Decent selection of beer and a cool ambiance. However, I will not be returning.

Used to like it. If you like 9 dollar beers than it’s okay. We were told to leave because we had a 3 month old who was sleeping in her stroller. So any parents wanting to visit, you will be turned away.
Taps not working, so only fridge selection available. These things happen, so it’s OK. But they continued to charge the corkage (“for here”) price, which is $3 or more per can. “That’s the official policy” from the owner, and it’s just a bit dodgy.
Discriminatory and unfair, terrible business. BEWARE! Me and my friends were bluntly refused service for the reason that one time in the past, during the mask mandate times, I walked into their shop not waring a mask. I was asked to leave then and I did that without a word of complain nor making any scene. Now there is no mask mandate anywhere in the Contra Costa County for any consumer business. Nevertheless, server named Mathew refused to serve me and two of my friends for a solo reason that months ago I alone had an audacity to walk into "his" shop not wearing a mask. Most outrageous is that he publicly refused service to my friends, whom he has never seen before, simply because they came with me. Guilt by association! This is unfair, outrageous and discriminatory. It left us all emotionally scarred and disturbed by this terrible place and business.
I got food poisoning last night from one of the taps here (beer #3 I believe). My friend and I each had a 2 pints of the same type of beer. We both got food poisoning, despite not eating any other meals together recently. Judging by the great reviews, this was maybe an isolated incident, but I wanted to leave a review in case other people were wondering why they got ill.
