I consider myself something of an Indian food afficionado, and this place destroys all. Most local Indian joints I go to serve their grub what I call "white people spicy". This place's spicy will massacre your tastebuds, so their medium is juuust right. Awesome samosas, tikka masala, aloo & naan. My sis can vouch for the daal. So gooooood
The food is delicious! Generous portions, friendly service, and overall great experience. This is definitely my go-to Indian Restaurant.
Great food. The server names Krishna was a great host. Presentation was on point, onion naan was the best. Would visit again for sure
The food is absolutely delicious! Authentic and fresh. Reasonably priced. Great for first timers as the staff are very nice about explaining the menu items.
They once forgot one of my rices, and they called me soon after I left. They were very sorry and made up for it by giving me some free sodas and apologizing profusely. Amazing restaurant, taste, and service.
My favorite Indian restaurant ever. We always order the same thing- chicken saag, chana masala, chicken tikka masala, all medium-spicy, with raita. Delicious. No frills, all flavor.
Total hole in the wall but the food is great and it's exactly what I'm looking for. The Tikka curry is my favorite. Pricing is reasonable.
Chicken tikka masala, aloo Gobi, okra karahi, garlic naan were excellent. Spicy order will come quite spicy! Pistachio ice cream was the highlight, must try. The chai tea was underwhelming. Great fare overall.
Great place: the food tastes amazing!! And you can't beat the price! The stuff is very welcoming. We will definitely come back!!
Indian Food, when I get that craving for fresh authentic... All you can eat. This is my go to place. Friendly people and awesome assortment of tasty food at a good price. Love it
Nice fresh india food! Breads are soft an curry test is good too! We had buffet here and i should say it is delicious!!
Oh. My. Gosh. Absolutely, insanely fresh and delicious! Some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Excellent service, too.
Our favorite Indian in WC. Many vegetarian choices and all are yummy. Reasonably priced. Decor is non fancy just FYI.
Love the lunch buffet. Great spot for quick and inexpensive meal. Never been for dinner, but always smells good ;-)
I love to eat there on lunch time when buffet. I love the food, atmosphere and staff are friendly. Good place to visit with family or coworkers.
Definitely my favorite Indian place. They know how to spice things even for people like me who have no heat tollerance. I've brought several friends here and never heard a bad word about the food.
This is the best Indian food in the Bay Area. I recently moved out of state and have struggled to find anything close to how amazing and fresh Saroor prepares their food. I’m back for a short visit and my first stop was Saroor. It never disappoints!
Surprisingly cheap, and so close to downtown! Their lamb is the juiciest, most tender delicacy you will ever taste! AMAZING samosas, I could go on and on about the wonders of this place...
Picked this place randomly for a party of 8. Kinda of sketchy on the outside but the inside was nice enough. Pretty sleepy so the service was a little slow but for family style the portions were good sized, great flavors and pretty reasonably priced. Good find!
Great take out! We ordered the meal deal with meat, and added a rice and a chicken tiki masala. Pleeeeenty of food for my wife and 2 kids (5 and 2 years old). We asked for low spice because if he kids and they did a bang up job delivering flavor despite the lack of heat. Definitely will come back
This place never fails. We always order the chicken tikka masala and it is great every time. We also enjoy their lunch buffet which is greatly priced at 8.99 and they always have a great variety. They can sometimes lag on bringing out more food but it's never too long of a wait.
Everything was delicious and our waiter was lovely. Can’t wait to go back! We had the veggie samosas, papadam, eggplant curry, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, chai and mango lassi and will definitely reorder everything!
Great take out from last night! Very generous portions, so about to have another round for dinner today. Every item we ordered (we ordered 5) was delicious, well prepared. Definitely on rotation !
Loved it. The buffet is not spicy, so the average person can tolerate it. They make the nann after you are seated, so it comes out hot.
Great local restaurant, had it for the first time today. Enjoyed all their dishes. Called over the phone for takeout and they really went the extra mile to make sure all the dishes were served in a sanitary manner. The staff was very polite too.
So many places to chose from for Indian food but I always come back here. The food is great, portions are more than enough, the staff are attentive and courteous, as well as, they are not over priced. Lamb spinach and tiki Masada are delicious!
Wow, when they say spicy they mean HOT! I love spicy food. This was my 1st time here and this type of food so I wasn't sure how hot hot was. He recommended medium, I'm glad it did. Next time I'm gonna do mild. The food and service was great.
I've been to many Indian restaurants and this one is by far the absolute greatest. I always come back here because it truly is the greatest. The Chicken Tika Masala is our favorite and never disappoints. Their Garlic Naan bread is also amazing. Don't waste your time with others. Come here. They never disappoint.
This is our favorite Indian food in Contra Costa. I do a lot of spicy foods but we order ours medium and it’s pretty hot. We usually get takeout but they opened the buffet again after being closed for years so we’ll go there for that sometimes between 11-3.
This place has awesome food! My husband and I always go here for their $16.60 buffet. The food is really good, and they have lots of different dishes to try. I like that it's not too spicy, unlike some Indian food. The staff are friendly, and the naan bread is great. Don't be put off by how the place looks; the food is totally worth it. Give it a try.
My family and I have been eating here for years, it is our favorite place in town for Indian food! A must try!!!
2019 Review ------------- This is a good restaurant that should be more popular than it appears to be. Excellent food and value. $10 lunch buffet even on weekends really can't be beat. Friendly service, clean, and good range of selections. All the food was tasty and visually attractive. Not pretentious, just good authentic food. I hope that they keep the food as is, and grow their customer base. 2025 Review ------------- The lunch buffet remains! Wonderful food, great variety. There should be lines out the door for this . Where can you get all you care to eat buffet style Indian food for $15.95 in 2025? Right here at Saroor Indian Cuisine. This is the best I am aware of in Northern California.
Food and service are very good, buffet is a very good price.
Reasonably priced all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. Quality food. Plethora of fairly authentic options. A few specialties you don’t see often. Efficient staff. Will return.
I never noticed the buffet had disappeared. Every time I have been it has been there. I went 3 weeks ago. So if it disappeared, it is back. My favorite buffet in town.
Excellent food preparation and generous portions, friendly staff which caters to your need. Very quiet location hidden in north main street of walnut creek. Plenty parking and very reasonable price. Their buffet is excellent choice of dishes and very good pricing. Chicken and vegeterian dishes are perfectly cooked. Tandoori chicken and Tikka masala paneer and garlic Nan ate to die for.
Food was great! We ordered the non-vegetarian full dinner because we don't really know the names of the dishes. There is also a vegetarian full dinner. Everything tasted wonderful and the proportions are generous. We had enough for lunch the next day. PS. When I went to pick up the food, I saw a buffet setup. Among other reasons for COVID-19 sheltering to end, we're looking forward to eating at the buffet. Definitely on our list of favorites.
Love da lunch buffet 😋 goat curry chicken massage fish pokraas
Best gulab jamun I've ever had! I ate here during a business trip and it was the best food I've eaten in a long time. I got spinach chicken curry, aloo parathas, and gulab jamun. It was perfection. Not only was everything delicious, it is so well priced. I live over an hour away, but I would make the journey back to Walnut Creek just for this food again.
We tried the buffet, they have plenty of options to choose from, food tasted well and naans were served hot and buffet is perfectly priced, the owner is very kind, attentive and very hospitable, since the restaurant is not easy to locate as the building is old and difficult notice the sign board, a definitely give it a try kind of Indian restaurant, we enjoyed eating here, and I strongly recommend.
Absolutely delicious food. Friendly and quick waitstaff. Perfect option for togo food, or perhaps to rent the place out for a casual, memorable birthday dinner (if that’s an option). I’ll be coming here again! Oh, and the prices are very very reasonable!
The food is consistently good. Interior is a little dark but the service is 5 star. At $10 this is really a good deal for lunch and there's plenty to choose from at the buffet as well as naan delivered to your table with a carafe of ice water. One of my favorites in the Bay Area
Best Indian food in town, HANDS DOWN! My fiancé and I order from here at least once every other week. The food is amazing, fresh, and fantastic prices. The best part about this place is the staff. There are always the nicest people working. This place is well worth supporting!
Went in around 1:30pm for the lunch buffet. Very affordable for Indian buffet at $9.00 for all you can eat. You will find a solid array of options such as salad, soup, and plenty of entrees to fill out your plate. Staff was very attentive with bread and refilling the Chai tea. Restaurant decor is dark but clean. In summary, I am very pleased with this find and hope to return soon.
This is my all time favorite Indian food restaurant! The food is consistently excellent & well spiced. The staff are very friendly & never seem put out with special requests. I order take out often & it's usually ready in 20 minutes.
Just a heads up, the food here is spicy so if you don't like spicy then you have to directly ask for no spice. That being said, when my food was delivered to my apartment it was very spicy. I called the restaurant and they cooked another meal and delivered it even though it was about 5 minutes before closing. They were very nice about it with really good customer service, and the second order of food that wasn't spicy was delicious.
Stopped here after a warriors game. So grateful they are open until 10pm. Called in the order for pick up. Restaurant was empty but smelled amazing. Noticed they have a lunch buffet with many vegetarian options. Food was hot. Packaged to prevent spills. The prawn masala curry with medium spice was perfect! It came with rice. Could have easily been 2 meals but i stuffed myself because it was that good. He got the lamb kebab masala curry with extra spice and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. We got a side of reg naan and spinach naan. I really enjoyed both. Excited to go back and try the lunch buffet
For just $15, you can enjoy an Indian buffet like this—it feels like a true blessing! The owner kept serving free naan—such a kind and generous gesture!
The lunch buffet starts at 11:30.I enjoy being alone and quiet, and this place is perfect for that. The service was excellent, and the food was very fresh. I would definitely come back again.
Lunch all you can eat Indian curry only $15.95, many vegetarian options 🩷🩷🩷
This place has some amazing Indian food. We got the onion rings as an app and they were really unusual but delicious. For our mains we ordered the chicken tikka masala and the chicken curry. Both were fantastic! The spice amount was perfect and the naan was perfectly cooked. Please try this place. The looks of the place are rough on the outside and inside but the food is great.
A surprising hidden gem in Walnut Creek. The price for the portions of food you get is fantastic and the menu itself is flavorful and delicious.
The food was amazing. We had Fish tikka masala, nan, and Indian spiced tea. Everything was so tasty and the price is reasonable.
The lunch buffet is legit good, and an awesome price! A little of everything for $11/person is a good deal.
Some of the best naan I have ever had. The taste is spot on of my chicken as well.

At the end of the day when you want really good food just come here and eat. Expectation should be delicious food not flashy atmosphere or fake sincerity from the service. It is worth ignoring the harsh unfair reviews and come form your own opinion. Best saag in the bay. All the chai you can drink. Naan that tastes like grandmas cooking.
Their food is excellent; big portions very reasonable prices. For Indian food this is where we now go.
This is the best Indian food in Walnut Creek. The owners are kind and patient. The price is unbeatable - we get 5 meals (leftovers) for $30. It’s our go-to take out and we have converted many neighbors and friends into fans.

Freshly cooked food was served to us. We tried mix veg pakoras, cholay, garlic naan, and tea. They had the best garlic naans. And the tea was free refill, we had twice :) all in all a good Indian place.
The food quality is always consistent and they have great service. We are regular at this restaurant. We have been having our birthday, Father's day, Mother's day dinners.
Had an order of the Paneer Tikka Masala (~$12): cheese cooked with creamed spices. Also had an order of the Sag Paneer (~$11): cheese cooked in spiced creamed spinach. Food was delicious, staff was helpful, and the ambiance was banquet-compatible.
Its good food and consistent pleasant service. It you ask for Indian hot you will get it! I like to sit down and eat there but I think much of there business is take out.
Had some issues with placing the order from GrubHub while the restaurant was closed for the late-lunch to dinner lull but their hours on GrubHub said they were open. Once we finally figured it out everything was fine and the food was made quickly. Food was delicious and when I asked for hot they gave me hot! I was so happy to find a place that was not afraid of putting some spice in their food. If you like spicy definitely get the vindaloo.
Checked this place out after reading some positive reviews on the food, but we were hesitant about the reviews of the location itself. I can say that the food is good, large portions and the condition of the place is good enough for us. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala (they always order it) and I had the Chicken Korma, spicy. They were satisfied with their's and I was definitely satisfied with mine. Plenty of chicken and more than enough rice. We also got an order of naan and garlic naan. I tried both and loved dipping them in my delicious sauce. I couldn't finish all my rice and I did not each lunch that day so you can tell it was a good amount of food. Spiciness was just at my level and I have been working on my spice tolerance for awhile now (though I'm no expert yet). This is now my go-to place for Indian in Walnut Creek.
Staff is very pleasant and quick and the food is more than satisfactory. Plus, it's a lot easier to get in and out of there, than trying to park downtown somewhere as they have their own parking in the front and I believe shared parking in the back, at least dur9mg luch hours when the lounge is closed.
This is my second time for lunch buffet and I really like the food. Few dishes are delicious like tandoori chicken, rice pudding and milk tea. I didn't like the rasgulla that much but overall I am satisfied with the food quality and recommend this place.
I love this place!!! I come here often. The place is deceptively large. From outside, it looks small, but inside, tons of places to sit. Food is great the price is right. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. I love the garlic naan and tikki masala!!!
A hidden gem! Its humble location and unprepossessing exterior belies a cheery and spotless interior and some of the best Indian food it has been our pleasure to enjoy. I picked it almost at random on a road trip with my wife and it became one of the highlights. Definitely recommend it and if we ever travel that way again, we'll remember to make it a destination!
The food tastes very good and the service is excellent. However, the restaurant premises are not good for dining. There is a very intense smell and the interior is dark and worn out. We picked-up our food which was properly packed and with generous portions. I would order pick-up again but never eat there.
We did takeaway so nor sure about the atmosphere but the food was great.

We had tea, lassi and samosa. They were all good. The service was slow and the atmosphere was ok. They do give free refills for the tea which was nice
The food wasn't as flavorful as i know Indian food to be, plus I ask for medium hot. It was not spicy at all. I do want to go back for the buffet.
Mediocre Indian food. The curry base still had the taste of raw coriander powder. Who uses coriander powder in Lamb Vindaloo! It was a concoction of crush tomato from a can with coriander and not enough garlic or ginger or other spices. This was not fried proper, it was boiled like a pasta sauce. They threw in the lamb after. Yuck! The 4.5 is because this caters to those who lack depth in their Indian palette. The lamb should be infused with the curry. Vindaloo is more of a thin, yellow hot curry. I dont think they even had tumeric. Waste of $$$. The Indian food in Walnut Creek in general leaves one with dread. The Chilli Paneer was a bit better. Was not spicy at all so the chilli part was not delivered but otherwise flavour was okay. Seekh kabob was cleary precooked, cut into pieces when cold then microwaved to serve. Fresh seekh kabob has a very good wafting aroma. Naan was standard. I will never return.
Went for dinner, place was almost empty. Service was good. Food was good, could have been spicier but asked for medium without knowing how strong it would be. Ordered take out another time, didn’t have to wait. Again foods good, nothing amazing but well priced and a decent serving. For 2 we split 3 meals, comes with rice or naan. Was plenty for us.
A little disappointing even for WC. On a Saturday night it was almost deserted; the space is sparsely decorated and, more importantly, inadequately heated for early March. Service was a bit neglectful given the lack of customers. OTOH the food was decent but a rather unimaginative selection. You have your choice of 'mild, medium or hot' spicyness - I chose medium. We started with vegetarian samosas - very good but unusually pricey. The chicken tikka kabob barely had any spice flavor, perhaps a bad choice. The lamb roganjosh was quite flavorful but too hot for my companions and indeed, medium. The sag paneer was loaded with cheese for a change. Side dishes (onion naan, raita) were fine. The near identical online menu suggests that Sargam is a sister restaurant, maybe worth a try for comparison.
Got there rather late for lunch (1pm). There weren't much food left at the buffet. They managed to restock a couple of things, but most of my meal was residual food that had sat around for a while.
Really not into their food. We ordered egg curry from them, which were very average. They pretty much boiled the eggs, halved it and put into a generic gravy , which is unfortunate for a restaurant and they deserve one star for it. But u bumped them 2 more stars because the dish had three eggs and the dish comes with a naan bread. These I think are very generous from the price point.
Charged us $20 each for the buffet (take out price) plus another $12 for I-don't-know-what. Disappointed. Also, I had heart burn all night, I don't normally get heart burn. It was not fun.
The place was lit and beautiful. It was very quiet and I liked it. I ordered a Daal soup which did not taste good to me and boneless chicken which tasted real good but it doesn't make sense to give it $17. Especially, if its not even that fancy. It came with peas and rice which was good and soft. So that is why, I give it 3 stars - because I think paying $27 for the whole thing was a little too much.
First time here, walked down from Diablo Subaru of Walnut Creek while my car was being serviced. It's an older building, kind of tucked away and I had never really noticed it before. Ordered onion pakoora and the butter chicken with rice. Everything was delicious and the prices reasonable. Pretty quiet in the restaurant, but lots of To Go orders. Sadly because of lack of in house dining and staffing shortages, the buffet is no longer available. There are however, lots of options on the regular menu. If you are in the area, check it out.
There was probably food coloring in the food. Our lamb curry was unnaturally red and the chickpeas weren’t as flavorful as authentic, slow cooked North Indian chickpeas.
Food was good and ok. The rest room smelled like urine . I was in the restroom for 13 minutes and the owner or manager came banging on the door and said I was taking too long??? This place needs to improve their people skills! This isn’t the Ghetto “

Ordered for takeout. Naan was chewy, chicken in tikka masala was tough/dry, and too much salt - I wasn’t happy with the quality to be honest.
Ambience is dull and old. Service is non existence. There is always empty food trays and will take a very long time to order. Walnut creek needs a good indian restaurant and unfortunately there are none!
Their restaurant was smelling like rotten eggs. May be it was their carpet that was not shampooed for years! Also no ventilation in the store. After placing my order (to dine-in), I had to switch it to take-out so that I can breath freely! The food was good though.
What a disappointment. Wanted to enjoy a meal with a colleague who likes Indian food as much as i. Unfortunately this was the wrong place to go to. While easy to find and almost empty (actually a bad sign!) We started with Pakoras which came out burned. We asked for spicy chicken vindaloo and it was medium, at best. The breads were overcooked do i continue? Note that in all the time we were there, there was only one other table occupied...
Not recommended at all. Their mint sauce had green coloring.. as in a ton of food coloring. There is absolutely no natural food that can make it THAT green. The veg pakoras were burnt outside while undercooked inside (oil too hot??) Naans were NOT naans but more like pita. Highly unrecommended. They should call their vegetable samosas Potato samosas.. that's all it has!! Their vegetable pakoras were mostly, guess what.. Potatoes! See my photos. For people who rated them high, they've probably never been to India

For many years but I have came here. And thoroughly enjoyed, but after I heard on the news about the rat falling out of the ceiling I continued to go in hopes that it would be the same great place. But each and every time I've gone the servings of meat have become smaller and smaller. In my opinion don't order to go or for dinner. Lunch buffets in my opinion are often passed off for the next days meals. I'm very sad to say that I will never go back due to the decline of quality.

Worst experience. The lunch buffet is served awfully cold. The trays are empty and refills wont arrive in time. There seems to be no desire by the management to improve the quality of food and service
They have pictures of a lunch buffet on their website but in reality have nothing but ripoff pricing and rude service. Not even an allacart lunch special. Will definitely not go back !
waste of money and time ordered tikka masala and it was literally worst.. i called to saroor and please next time take care and imagine the reply - he said called me after 9PM that is closing time. pls don't follow rating and do not try food if u really want to eat indian taste. I will never visit again.
Editing my review based upon customer service: I had a small to go order and forgot my wallet. I had my checkbook. They wouldn't accept a check from a customer who had been there probably 50 times in the past (and the person "helping" me recognized me). Guess throwing the food away was a better option. I'll take my business elsewhere going forward. Original review: Three stars but I do like Saroor. I just hate eating there. The restaurant is in a huge need of a remodel. Floors creak when you walk on them. But . . . The food is tasty. They have a decent buffet. It's not the best around but it's not bad. It depends upon when you get there. If it's towards the end of lunch, it's just not as fresh as it should be. But in the beginning, you'll be very satisfied. I do love their Chicken Tikka Masala. It's my favorite item on their menu and possibly the best out of the four or five Indian restaurants I go to in the area. They had a big changeover in staff a few months ago and I feel like their service went way down. I went back in the other day and one of the old employees was back so hopefully things will return to normal.
Salt. That's all I could taste. I've been craving Indian food for several weeks and didn't have time to drive to where the best Indian restaurants are so I took a chance. There's never any cars in the parking lot here...for good reason. I gave one star because they were nice and the food was hot when I picked it up. Aside from that, I can't recommend the place if you want good Indian food. This food was way salty and not tasty at all.
Service is really slow. Placed an online order and had to wait for more than 10 minutes before the server could hand me the order. The server just kept doing new things even though I had tried to get their attention. As for the food, their Tikka masala sauce is pretty good but the chicken was rubbery.
This place has always been slow. Like over an hour for naan slow. But tonight I ordered through DoorDash hoping it would be easy to pick up. The 40 minute estimate was fine, I left the house 45 minutes after the order since I knew it would be late anyway. But then I waited an HOUR at the restaurant only to have them lose my order and figure this out after multiple questions on when the order would be ready. Do not go here!
🤮🤮Never eat food from this place. They are very slow and very dirty.🤮🤮🤮🤮
Honest review: I visited this restaurant with my family for the first time few months back, we really loved the food and service. Food was quite tasty. After that I took my friends to this place in a hope we will get the same quality of food and service. But it was a real disappointment. They told we are serving frozen food because we don’t have our chef. Yesterday (06/29/2022), we decided to give one more chance. Honestly was a huge mistake on our part to even give a chance. We ordered Chicken kebab which was all underdone. Chicken Curry, Goat curry was all underdone. When we called the manager/server, he took the plates and warmed the food and gave the same back. Manager was also very rude to us when we told this meats are underdone. He again gave the same excuse we don’t have our chef so we are serving frozen food. Manager was also very rude to us when we asked to serve the last drink. We will never ever visit this place and would recommend people to consider this review and not visit it. No one would want to eat frozen undercooked meat. You are putting everyone’s health under risk.
I ordered a Lamb Biryani for thanksgiving day, and I got a rice pulao with salty meat balls (inedible). I am not going to buy from this shop again, they tried to fool me about Lamb Biryani by sending some other dish.

Just called and asked the person the price and items in the buffet. He was super rude and mentioned that he does not have the time to talk. If they can't talk what will they service when you visit.
