I love the fresh made corn tortillas they make right in front of you. The food is always fresh and delicious. My favorite items are the tacos. They're street style and you can put whatever you want on them. The Horchatais really good here as well.
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Bay. The food is always excellent and the people running it are sweet and have good energy. They clearly put a lot of care into the aesthetics and the food.
whyyyyy did you close :( food is so good!
Stopped here on a road trip just to have a quick meal and it was delicious! Incredible Chile Rellenos and a scrumptious fish taco. Will stop again when driving as it was so convenient off and on the 680.
Sat down here tonite super close to closing time and they still served us. Had 9 street tacos and my wife had tacos de costra and the flautas. Absolutely delicious. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Third time here so far and will be back again in the near future
Love this place ; I come here a few times a week and am never disappointed . Burrito good. Juice good. Meat is good. Go here and eat. Many good times yum yum yum
I had a very different experience than the bad reviews. Two times I ordered for pickup, each time it was great. Second time a family was getting their food in front of me and it looked amazing (the tortilla soup wow!). And my experience with the employees has been pleasant. The first time I didn't know what I was doing and forgot to add toppings to the last two items in my order. The employee realized this and added a small container of each item I had ordered on the one I figured to do it on. It was way above and beyond and very kind although even plain I enjoyed the meat. Fun concept, good food. It's like if chipotle were made with real Mexican food lol.
Responding to a favorable review in NextDoor, we ran over to Que Onda on Saturday to catch the last hour half hour of their generous happy hour. It was great! Very fresh tasting hand wrought Tacos, a huge plate of juicy-topped crunchy flautas, covered with fresh chopped tomatoes, lettuce, crushed real avocados, and sour cream. The crispy flautas were very tasty! And both provided toppings of spicy and medium salsa, we're very good. Both plates were generous. And only $10 during happy hour - wow! And noteworthy is the fact that until 6 PM, pints of excellent draft beer are only $5! Not mediocre beer like Bud and Coors, but Hazy Lagunitas IPA in a big cold 16 ounce glasses! My wife had a fresh artisan agave happy hour margarita. Only $6! 🤯 Maria, the cook, server, and bartender, was generous, friendly, and proud of her plates! A hard worker that really paid attention to the details. Bravo Maria! There's no doubt about it. This place pretty much kills chipotle. Especially from 3 - 6 PM!
Tortillas made freshly right in front of you, perfectly cooked Carne Asada, delicious hot sauce with a slight bite, but not too hot… This place is delicious. There was one lady working the taco bar and cash register by herself, and I didn’t even have a long wait, she was on top of her stuff. Would recommend.
Delicious food without the frills. The homemade corn tortillas are incredible and so is the birria.
Que Onda Taco Bar is a solid spot if you’re looking for quality tacos done right. The food here speaks for itself — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. One of the biggest highlights is that they make their tortillas right on the spot. It makes a huge difference, elevating the taste and overall experience of their tacos compared to places that just use packaged tortillas. Prices are affordable, which is refreshing considering the quality you get. The place itself is kept very clean, and the colorful, cultural décor adds to the atmosphere without feeling overdone. It’s the kind of spot you can come to for a casual meal and still feel like you’re getting something special. Overall, it’s a great balance of taste, value, and environment. Definitely worth a visit. Pro tip. Get here between 3 and 6 for their happy hour menu. 3 tacos for 10 bucks!! Can’t beat that
Me and my husband have come here quite a few time. I think they know us by now. The food is really delicious, so far we have gotten the quesabirrias and the taco bowl. And plus you get chips and salsa. Every time we go there we are greeted nicely and the worker there are really nice as well. We don’t wait long for our food to come and when it comes we start eating it right away because it’s looks and taste delicious. Definitely recommend this. I love it.
The food and service are good, the taco base is made on site and the rice is delicious
Food, and especially service, has been top notch each and every time we’ve been here. Quesabiria and the Dutch Crunch Torta -“are stand outs. Would also want to try out their breakfast options as well in the future. Also have had good drink specials there on some visits. Highly recommended for an easy Mexican food option near the BART station in Pleasant Hill / Walnut Creek!
If you need a quick pick me up of food, this is the place to go to. It's a significantly higher quality version of Chipotle with significantly more ingredients for your choosing. Fast-Mex can't get any better than this.
Great tasting Mexican food. Must try if you are in The area. Chilaquiles were good.
Some of the best Mexican food in the Bay Area and consistently delicious. My ceviche was fresh, quesabirria full of authentic flavor and our burrito just amazing cause it had everything in it! The perks of a taco bar. Enjoy!
Loved the customer service, extremely good food! Can’t wait to come back and try the all day breakfast!

The best Mexican food I've had since I went to Mexico. The fresh made tortillas make a big difference! I had never tried quesabirria nor tacos de costra before, but both were amazing. The esquite was quite good, and the platanos fritos were heavenly for dessert. It is definitely a family run place. Service was slow, but friendly. If you're not in a rush, definitely check this place out!

Tried this place for the first time today. Got the food to go. The set up is like a Chipotle for ordering. You tell the worker what you want and they make it in a production line you tell them what you want in your burrito/taco etc. It was decently busy when I got there but I was like third in line. By the time I was paying the line was about 8 groups long. So it was getting busier. Part of the reason for the line length I believe is due to them being a little slow. Part of my order made me have to wait about 5 minutes after paying. I ordered a California Burrito and I had to wait for it due to the French fries in the burrito, they needed to fry them fresh. I appreciate that they made them per order but it does take longer than I hoped. The food is good, but I found the rice in my burrito to be a little salty for my taste. The prices are a little on the higher side, I spent $60 for 4 adults with no drinks. The burrito is pretty big and you possibly could split it between 2 people. Overall I would go back but it might not be first on my list.
Good tacos, featuring freshly tortillas hand-made to order. Meats were well seasoned. Large variety of food options. Prices are a bit high though, unless you come during Happy Hour (3-6pm daily) or Taco Tuesday (3 for $10 select tacos)
Love the conveyor system? This place is great. The food quality is 5+ stars. It's so delicious!!!! The service is really good (4 stars) but the staff training is 3 stars in my opinion- they didn't have it all together with ticket or product item details lined up so the preparation staff could easily explain something to a customer or keep track of what's the customer wanted. By the time the customer gets to the cashier, the cashier and the customer should be on the same page to confirm the order without asking each other questions in my opinion.
Very nice and roomy place! Food was amazing. Authentic Mexican flavors with expensive prices. Ordered 2 bowls with tostada shells. Jarritos pineapple drink available. Good ambiance with friendly staff! Restrooms are decent.
Great quick taco place. Ordered Carne asada tacos and it was good. Plenty of seating. Clean and friendly staff. Parking lot might be crowded sometimes. Happy hour everyday 3pm to 6pm.
Nice fresh tortillas, I had the mula and the tacos. Carne asada and carnitas were okay but the sides, tortillas, and toppings were good. Friendly service.
Nice place, fantastic Mexican food, with fresh made tortillas. Lively atmosphere.
They even make their own tortillas, maybe not a new thing in Mexico, but I havent see it alot, and really tasty....nachos were far better than I expected, I used akmost no sauce.
Had the nachos, were really good. The only thing I was disappointed by was they didn't put beans and were short on the cheese. Also, the nachos do not appear to be on the menu.

This food is super dry. I don't think so I will be going back again.
My queso tasted like fish today and my flautas were soggy and tasted like the chicken was old. Rice and beans were good but the meal was really bad today. Staff are very friendly. If this wasn’t a to go order I would have complained as it was that bad
I’ve been coming to them for years since they first opened the location in Brentwood. Food was alright, but the prices are all removed or ??? Mystery prices??? Staff was great though.
Asked for something on their menu and he rolled his eyes and tried to get me to choose something else. Seemed unconcerned with the customer throughout the transaction. Decent food, can get better for cheaper elsewhere.

Gave this place a try but mystery price was definitely what I got … enchiladas plate and a fries 🍟 loaded plate as well as two drinks of soda 62$ and change, felt like huge mistake then a great meal
The manager (?) helped me when I ordered a tacos del costra. I noticed that he used much less cheese on the tortilla from the start, but everyone has their own way of making things. But when he did the toppings, I felt like he was giving the least amount of everything he could. I had to ask for another jalapeno and he literally took a pinch of cheese and topped my taco. I asked the girl for a little more cheese and he stepped in and told me that I only purchased one taco and the cheese that is used - they use extra cheese on the tortilla already. Well I have never had someone literally act like this at a Que Onda! I guess this guy is happy being penny rich - pound poor, because that's what he's going to end up being. Keep all of your toppings, dude, because I certainly won't be back. Cheap out and lose business...that's a great business model!! :) I noticed it was the lunch hour and there were no dash orders and only one other customer in there, so perhaps people are not inspired to return/repeat business where the owner treats them like he's having to pay for each shred of cheese out of his own pocket. lololol The food is the food and is good, but the haggling to get another pinch of cheese isn't what I'm trying to do when I step out to spend money on my lunch hour. Would not recommend this location!!!
I don’t like writing negative reviews of a business. But I feel, after my recent meal, that I have to let others know that this is not worth the money. It isn’t good, and it is very expensive. My burrito was $20, which includes a $2 guacamole charge. But an $18 burrito should be very good, this place served up a $6 burrito at best. I have had better at the airport, I have had better out of my microwave. Wildly overpriced for value delivered. The serving area was a mess, stuff everywhere. The carnitas was like jerky, dry and flavorless. The burrito wasn’t event large, very average with minimal feelings - I’ve seen more cheese sprinkled on pasta. The restaurant was empty, I was the only one there on cinco de mayo, at 8:10pm. Should have been my first sign. There are many other great Mexican food options within 2-4 minutes away, do you research and pick any other place. Giving 2 stars because the person that helped me was nice. This is my third and final time eating here.
At first we loved this place, fresh, quality ingredients and great flavors. Our experience today was awful. Over priced, over salted, and their mild sauce was not mild enough this time for the kids (they have had it before without issue). When we arrived, I was asked if I needed something and when I answered, "I have an online order" the associate just stared at me like a deer in headlights. Then another associate, quickly stated "It's coming, it's coming!" Reaponding as if I was impatient. Our order was by far the worst quality and presentation I have ever had. For nearly $60 to feed 4 people it should have been edible... I don't think I will ever go back.
Shameful portion of bean, rice, and cheese burrito for $20. The smallest freaking burrito I have ever seen. They didn’t even have rice, despite us ordering a BCR. I will absolutely not be returning.

A place that has everything to be successful but the service is terrible! Unfortunately, I don't know who the guy's service was, but on the morning of November 3rd, he was the only one there. It's horrible. When we ask and talk to him, he ignores us. Unfortunately, a lot of things go wrong because of people like this, or they suggest that it's a business just to clean up if he's the owner.
Don’t come here. Unlike most other Mexican establishments in the East Bay, this place charges you for each small cup of salsa you request. The food I ordered was incredibly average. A lady behind me wanted some salsa to go and the man gave her inconsistent prices as he prepared it and charged her. Seemed like he was making it up as he went. Just greedy behavior.
I paid 75$ for 2 tacos, 1 chicken bowl, cal burrito, 2 beers, 1 water. As I was eating I thought to myself why so expensive? I went back asked for a receipt and the cashier lady gave me a print out with no quantities or prices, I went back ask for a complete receipt and noticed I was charged for 2 salad bowls. I did get my money back but she kept my receipt luckily I took a picture. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!! food quality ? not great. Carne asada meat looks old and very dry zero flavor. Chicken on salad was super dry and hard I feel that they are keeping left over meets and cooking in oil the following day... cali burrito taste like guacamole, sour cream and burnt dry meat. This is not Mexican food very disappointed how did you get 4 stars 🤔. The beer was the only good thing hope you all have better luck....
Ordered pickup and came in with only one customer ahead of me. I told the one employee I was here for a pickup and he was attending another customer for quite some time so I decided to use the restroom. When I came out he was still talking to the other customer and I noticed my order was sitting behind the counter, after 5 minutes of waiting with no sense of urgency to just let me grab my food and go, I asked if I could just take my order because I had been waiting quite some time. He was incredibly rude and claimed that it’s my “fault” that my order is sitting there because I wanted to use the bathroom, what? Then he proceeds to call me “baby” and said “it’s not my problem you’re waiting, baby” in an aggressive tone and continues to utter insults under his breath as I walked out. Highly uncomfortable situation, very unnecessary. I will not be returning and especially won’t be recommending.
Hello - my first time in this restaurant I came here Tuesday 2/22/22, ordered various items. Everything was cold and the food just tasted oily, heavy, cold and ingredients seemed not so fresh. Ordered 2 enchiladas- cold, tasted like old food. 2 tacos with chicken- cold and the chicken and cilantro was outside of the taco. The only item that was good is the guacamole. Chips were meh… Won’t be visiting again. This was my 1st time. The staff helping were not friendly. The teenager didn’t even say a word and just rudely pointed at the food when it was time to choose the items. Disappointed ☹️ I really wanted to like the place and it’s next to the Habit and Sprouts!!! $34.00 later and food tasted old, and was not fresh.
Rude rude rude. Never been so insulted by a an employee in a restaurant before, I had tried to order a burrito, and the man serving me at the taco bar seem extremely annoyed, I proceeded trying to be polite and tried to get an order done and move on. The meat in the taco bar seemed questionably, as it was sitting there for long periods of time and not fresh as I would hoped, so I was asking what kind of meats there were so I could make a decision, after answering a few of my questions he then selected the greasiest meat without my permission. Like what? I then said, " I don't want that meat I was just asking about the different meats you have." He then said rudely, "either you want the burrito or not." Glaring at me. So I left. I will not be disrespected when I'm spending money on their establishment. I have eaten here before and it's over priced and low quality, we are in the Bay Area. Where the Mexican food in other establishments are top notch. This isn't it. And the disrespect that comes with it is unacceptable.
My husband and I showed up around 9:55am, 5 minutes before they opened. We sat down outside and waited for them to unlock the doors, 10:10am comes around, and you can see the employees inside, talking, walking around. 2 other people showed up a few minutes later and tried to get in, we told them we were also waiting. We finally just got up and left. The lack of customer service from these entitled children have ruined this experience and business. Never returning and will not be recommending this place to anyone.
DISGUSTING!!!! I ordered 3 tacos with meat, queso, sour cream, mango salsa, and salsa Verde and look how these tacos arrived. I'm shocked you would even send this food out. This doesn't even look edible. Entire container filled with liquid and tacos are completely disheveled. $5 per taco and this is how you prepare them? Never ever again. Truly disappointed and just disgusted.
While there food is fine, and perhaps dining in would be ok, ordering from them is a nightmare. They NEVER get the order correct. You order a side of rice and beans, they don't deliver it. They'll get entrees wrong, missing items always. I will not order takeout/delivery from them ever again.
First of all the phone numbered listed does not work. Ordered Enchilada plate with chicken, received something else not sure what but no chicken. Burrito w chicken you guessed it ,no chicken. And ordered a side of guacamole, and received the salsa cup with guacamole. First time Last time.
