My boyfriend and I decided on new way lunch for breakfast on Saturday and I was just going to get a simple breakfast sandwich until I heard the specials and chose this absolutely to die for blueberry french toast with this amazing whipped cream it was the perfect amount of sweetness to the savory sausage!! Will be coming for more of new way lunch soon, thank you so much for your hard dedicated work
Service fast, food good, can't make huge recommendations but the 'meat sauce' chili on the New Way omelet kicked it up a bit. Will try the Dirty John Dog next visit!
My son and I shared a large chili cheese fries, a grilled cheese sandwich (which came with homemade potato chips), a Stewart's root beer, and a slice of Boston cream pie, and I had a coffee, and an order of homemade potato chips to go, all for less than $25 and the staff was very pleasant.
A great diner on the way out of Lake George! The ladies are super friendly and my omelet was filled with lots of veggies. A worthwhile stop if you're looking for simple and tasty.
A local favorite! The hot dogs with the works will put a smile on your face and fill up your belly! The service is fast and friendly and the prices are very reasonable! I recommend sitting at the counter so you can watch the fastest hot dog chefs on the planet. It's pretty amazing how many dogs they can cook and fix up at once. For a slice of real Americana, head to any of the three New Way Lunch locations!
Every time I come to the area I have to stop and get my dirty john hot dogs. On the way out I stopped for breakfast. They also have the best sausage gravy and biscuits. I also had to buy a dozen hotdogs Togo. They even put them on ice for the 3 hour motorcycle ride home.
Delicious food and service was great. Way too much food and inexpensive. We will be back every day of our vacation! Nice home away from home feel. Not many places like this gem around any longer! Short distance from Lake George and much better food and service. Thank you!
Don't leave town without trying a dirty John's hot dog! In fact, grab a dozen because you'll eat two or three of them just out of the box! This is a local landmark. Great food, great service. Dine with the locals.
New way lunch is the go to quick food place in the burgh. The meat sauce is the standard by which all others should be judged. These dogs are simply the best I have ever had. The works is mustard, meat sauce and raw onions. Truly fantastic, but I always add ketchup. The added sweetness puts it out of this world. I recommend to order at least 4 per person, just in case. New way lunch (aka dirty John's) make the dirt dogs that are essential and obligatory anytime in Glens falls and warrensburgh. Cheers!
They meet the status quo for a diner. I've always enjoyed their food every time that I've been there. They have a great classic diner style breakfast, decent coffee, and hot dogs that only New Way knows how to make.
Awesome diner, stopped by here on our way back to NYC. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Good coffee and Insane pancakes. Everything was super fresh and the bathroom is clean (huge deal for me) Thank you for a warm welcome. Cheers!
Awesome! We stopped by here on way back from Canada and had a fantastic meal! Fresh salad, tremendous tzaziki, and excellent burger. Very clean dining area. Prices are very reasonable too. I'm glad we stopped.
Everything here is delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive. We had the hot dogs, Greek salad, potato salad and raspberry pie - every bite was superb, highly recommend if you are local
We love it here. Breakfast is always delicious and so is lunch. I always get omelets, anywhere I go and they make a great one. For lunch, the dogs are the best!
Really good hot dogs in a casual roadside diner atmosphere. Great place to stop for lunch if you’re nearby!
I love their homemade corn beef hash at breakfast. Their hot dogs, french fries, onion rings, chicken sandwiches... are really good for lunch.
Great diner. Nice menu and dogs.
Very comfortable, family-friendly restaurant. Love the local, home town feel. Food and service are excellent. It's a small space, so be patient if they're busy.
Quick service, good food. Had a New Way hot dog & soup. The hot dogs are famous for good reason! Try one, or some, you will have to come back for more.
On a few occasions, I have driven from exit 13 to 23 just for their hot dogs! DELICIOUS! Food is always fresh and hot and the service is friendly and fast. Worth the trip from anywhere!
Although renouned (and rightfully so) for their hot dogs, this Northern Outpost of the New Wave Lunch Empire also serves magnificently prepared breakfasts. Small miracles: the scrambled eggs are cooked by someone who knows how to turn out small curd scrambled eggs perfectly. Thick slices of toast, intensely flavorful sausage patties, and couple of cups of their good strong coffee later, and you're ready to take on the world. A great breakfast is what they offer and deliver. Go!
It all starts with their hot dogs. Can't be beat. But it doesn't end there. Good burgers, salads and other sandwiches. And they do a great breakfast. Friendly service and great food at an affordable price. What more do you need?
Best breakfast and hot dogs in the area. Love their homemade chips! Always make a stop here when on vacation around Lake George. !
This place is amazing. I normally go here for the hot dogs, but thought I'd branch out and tried the Philly Cheesesteak. Best sandwich I've had in a long time. Great food for about what you'd pay at McDonald's.
Always great food. Love, love the hotdogs!!! Grew up on them. Just can't get enough of them. Highly recommend any of their locations. You won't be disappointed.
Great food, great service, and fast! Everything here is excellent. Highly recommended. Ditch the chains and come here! Shelby is a character and makes us laugh. Great way to start our the day!
This is a family favorite! From the delicious hotdogs, to crispy hot fries, and the awesome service...we love it here!! All 3 locations are clean, friendly and prompt. "Dirt dogs" are an institution!
Visiting my son (who was staying w future inlaws) & before heading to Placid we stopped here for bfast (his future grandfather in law lives in the area & recommended it). It was DELICIOUS..honestly! Staff is incredibly fast too. Wanted to go back Sun morning but broke my fibula in Placid But I will be back when we are upstate
I haven't been there in many years. But my parent's would always stop there on our way thru. North or south. So I decided to go in for a late breakfast and was totally satisfied. The place was a buzz of activity and friendly atmosphere. I recommend.
Grilled cheese was top notch. The house chips were so good - possibly the best house chips I’ve had. Fries were crispy and cooked perfectly. Even the pickles were delicious. Also grabbed a slice of cherry pie and a slice of mixed berry - so good. Highly recommend.
My husband and I ended up here by accident. Our usual spot for vacation breakfast was closed so we tried here and we were not disappointed! We were greeted with smiles and the entire staff was jovial and attentive. The western omelet and biscuits & gravy were absolutely delicious but what really bumped it up to 5 stars is the home fries and corned beef hash. REAL potatoes sauted and seasoned, along with REAL corned beef. Many places claim to have homemade corned beef hash but very few do more than open a can - this place is the outlier - it is real meat that was cooked with thought and care. It was evident throughout the entire meal that the food was prepared by people that take pride in what they do. The restaurant itself is small so we were ecstatic to have beat the rush as there appeared to be a sizeable crowd waiting as we were leaving.
This restaurant is not fancy, with great food, reasonable prices and excellent service. They are on our definitly visit list in the Lake George, NY area.
Out of state frist timer the food was good the waitress happy and friendly a little singing go on i loved it thank you for the welcoming atmosphere
Great diner. Stopped on a trip heading home from Lake George. They were packed but the breakfast came quick and staff did great handling the rush. All our food was perfect and cheap. Will stop again next summer
Staff was incredible even under pressure with a full crowd. My family ate outside and an employee came out with a bowl of water for our dog and a few treats! My kids loved the food, so did my wallet. And obviously my dog loved it too!
Pet friendly! We ate a very pleasant meal on the patio. "Dirt dogs" were delicious (savory meat sauce reminded me of kibbeh), and chicken fingers and fries were crispy and tasty. Bring your favorite canine to dine!
I really wish I had visited New Way Lunch sooner! They were VERY reasonably priced and the food was great. My wife and I ate here for a nice breakfast and not only was the food tastier, but it was less expensive than popular coffee franchise. They were slammed, but our waitress was extremely polite and attentive to our table, while also juggling all the tables she had to deal with outside. I would absolutely return next time I am in the Lake George area!
Ordered take out breakfast; food was great, meal was ready in 10 minutes, and prices are great!! Fed 4 people and had leftovers. Nice woman working when I picked up the food who made sure we had everything we needed for our meal. People were dining in, at a capacity of 20 currently. They have plexiglas up between tables and are distancing the tables you can use. Nice little location with ample parking.
Clean and friendly. Large fries will feed 2 people, you won't go away hungry. Hot dogs are good, meat sauce is on the sweet side, they are a close second to Broadway Lunch hot dogs in Schenectady.
The absolute best breakfast/lunch place in the area! The staff is friendly & accommodating. Omlets are delicious, toast was perfectly done, pancakes are moist and buttery, and oh the hot dogs!!! A must try if you're in the area.
In town visiting friends, had a wonderful lunch here. Everything was prepared fresh, and taste was excellent. I had the Greek salad ,as did my husband. Fresh ,crunchy romaine lettuce, feta cheese, olives, very tasty indeed. Pies ! Save room, you'll want to try them!
After a hike stopped here for food. My fries were AMAZING, crunchy, crispy, FULLY COOKED! My chicken tenders were crispy white meat and delicious. The service was fast and friendly and they didn't care we took it to go to eat in a parking lot. 10/10 will go back after my next hike in the area.
One of the best breakfast places in the area. Excellent food and a wonderful staff.
If you like good hot dogs, great pie, and friendly wait staff, this is the place to be!
It's called dirty John's, not new way lunch. Pretty good food, people from my family have been coming here since the 80's
Stopped in quick during a weekend trip in ADK. My primary meal was a 4oz cheeseburger but also got one the the hot dogs. Being from Rochester the hot dog was basically a garbage plate version and was absolutely delicious. Dogs are homemade which adds a level of freshness. Well worth the $2 they charge for it. The burger was good. Weird how they charged separately for lettuce, tomato and onion along with another charge for cheese. But overall the value is great and the food was all better than anticipated.
Food was very good - Good solid food. Dessert was yummy! Service was excellent. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and in good shape. Prices are a little higher than expected for casual dining ($6. burgers, $5 Grilled Cheese without the fries or side. etc) but acceptable. We will definitely return.
This find was wonderful. We were staying by the touristy area of Lake George and wanted some home-like cooking. We had the New Lunch hotdog, grilled cheese on wheat with fries, onion rings, a chicken Caesar salad, and chicken noodle soup. The food was freshly made, like if I had labored making it at home. Our server Camden, who joked she is much cleaner than the NJ city, was pleasant. The rest of the staff was also just as welcoming and added to the ambiance of this no-frills diner.
If you're hungry, stop here! The hot dogs with the homemade meat sauce are delicious! Get an order of onion rings to go with it. Good desserts too. Don't forget to get a bottle of the meat sauce for home.
For as long as I have been alive, new way lunch hotdogs have been the best thing to eat in the area. They are always the one things that is a must to have whenever I visit and wish I could bring them home. If you haven’t had one, you are doing yourself an injustice. I hope some day the smell of these awesome hotdogs can be made into a cologne!
The food is always great Me and my family have been eating there for years. they are known for the dirty dogs . But the corn beef hash at there warrensburg location is really good . homemade not that canned stuff you get at most places.
New Way Lunch in Warrensburg is by far the better restaurant. The hot dogs at both places are not comparable. Warrensburg beats them out by a lot. The hot dog is Warrensburg is not mushy for one. They actually give you ketchup when you order fries too. Just by far a way better experience and the food is well worth it here. I'd skip the other location(s) and stick to Warrensburg location. Your palate will thank you.
Five star friendly service and a five star meal, absolutely loved and enjoyed my experience passing through with a lovely breeze outside on the patio and chatting with my server Dawn. The French toast was amazing and an all around five star experience I'd definitely recommend for sure! Thank you!!
My daughter and I stopped for lunch after skiing at Gore Mountain. Great food, staff, and atmosphere! Very clean and old school comfortable. Hot dog “appetizer” was superb. We also had a burger, BLT, onion rings, and pasta salad. All were excellent. Thank you and we’ll be back! 😀
Many great things to eat, but the top draw has to be the "dirt dogs " Grilled dogs , steamed buns, meat sauce, chopped onions and yellow mustard. A delightful journey from hunger to satiation on the heart burn express. Well worth the price and time investment.
Yummy and fast for breakfast... even if it was the only offering in town! Attentive waitresses and fair prices - long time w-burg staple for consistent quality and friendly service- biscuits and gravy were authentic and chunky- Greek omelet was full and fresh
I love a small, old fashioned diner. The breakfast was perfect and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming!
Best early bird shift team: Jim does the pies. Terry gets the ice. John Doe does the creamer. Kelleigh serves the amazing food with a smile. She's a bit late sometimes but dont worry, she's got back up. Good & wholesome
Great hotdogs. Really good chilli, only wish the dogs were a bit more well done. Really enjoyed the cornbeef hash, it was made with real ingredients and not from a can. Im never in the area, I was only passing through but if I was ever in the area I would definitely frequent this place for the hotdogs and hash.
What a great place. Throwback to an old diner style restaurant. Quick, friendly service. Reasonable prices. Great food. Get the dirty dog and onion rings! Nice selection of bottles sodas
What a fun little diner! The wait staff was extremely busy, but we quickly got a table and our meals. We had the fish sandwich special. Outstanding coleslaw! Delicious pies. Reasonable price. We will stop again!
A wonderful experience! This is a great family-owned restaurant with great prices and great service. Prices were amazing, the owner and workers were so friendly! The quality of the food was great and the big brownie sundae was delicious! My dad says that the food was “perfect”. Would come back again. 10/10 experience 💯
One of the best brunch places I've had in a while, in all honesty. When you arrived at the restaurant and were welcomed by the server, it seemed very welcoming. Food was excellent. I ate the biscuit & gravy and because my friend wouldn't let me get a bite of his chili hotdog, I had to get it myself. Then I understood why he didn't let me have a bite, because it was scrumptious. The biscuit & gravy was astonishing and I highly recommend it. Everything else that my friend ate was likewise delicious. If I didn't live 5 hrs away I'd be here every week. 10/10, must try again.
Friendly folks and awesome food at a good price. If you travel through Warrensburg like I have hundreds of times, you have seen the place but never stopped. Well I stopped in and glad I did! The hot dogs live up to the hype and the tater tots/fries were awesome. So was the cheese steak. The Boston Cream pie was also yummy!
Quick seating and service. Hot dogs done your way with toppings. Highly recommend getting with house meat sauce. Cheeseburgers just as tasty and cooked to your liking. Fries are great with super crispy coating outside and almost creamy on the inside. Took grandchildren and restaurant very child friendly. Kid menu available but adult meals were their favorites. Open area to view hot dogs being prepared. For some reason the amount spent is coming up wrong on my posting. The cost is super reasonable with $1-$10 per person. Cheap eats but not on taste.
This is truly a hidden gem. Old school hotdogs, hamburgers, and other American food in a low key very friendly atmosphere. I had to try the hotdogs and I'm glad I did, the onions, mustard and chili were incredible. My wife got the hamburger with onion rings and we shared a coconut cream pie. Everything was fantastic. The funny thing is we were only going in for "something small".
New Way Lunch is an historic and charming place to take the whole family or stop in for a quick bite. The prices are more than reasonable. Stop in for a hot dog with signature meat sauce. Have a great time in a mid-twentieth century diner setting. Don't forget the fries and root beer.
Actually, never really had anything here bit the hot dogs with the works. AKA dirt dogs. They are fantastic.
Awsome. I will go back!
Good spot to have breakfast on the road with your pooch! Owner and server were extremely nice. Food was good and kept us filled until our next stop. Highly recommend
The food was good, but there were no gluten-free bread options. The omlettes were delicious. Waitresses were friendly and attentive. Typical clean diner atmosphere.
This place is legit. It is a good place for a solid omelette and breakfast, but I would imagine it would be amazing for the hotdogs at lunch. It’s been around for over 100 years and you could feel the history and its walls.
Tater tots & fries were really good. Would have preferred tarter sauce and mayonnaise to have been served in little ramekins style dishes rather than fast food style, individually packaged. Fish Sandwich was good, burger looked like previously frozen patties. An all around good lunch.
A cute little diner in town with cheap prices. I came here to try their breakfast menu, but unfortunately they stop serving breakfast at noon. However, I did try their famous hot dog with onions, mustard and meat sauce for only $2 and it was pretty good! I personally wish they cooked the hot dog more so that it has a crunchier bite to it, but I’ll ask for it well done next time. I would definitely come back to try their breakfast menu, but I would come during the week and avoid the weekends. There aren’t a lot of seats and the place fills up quickly.
FF were over cooked and hot dog shins were so tough they were heard to chew. Been getting hot dogs from New Way Lunch ,(Dirty John's) since I was 5 years old with dad and these were not the same. Won't be back. My
Food is not great, but the people are so nice! It's a bright, happy place.
We visit here periodically when in the area and it has always been excellent but this time it was not great. Waitress did not bring all of our order out as I think she forgot to order what we wanted so it came out late. My wife's salad had some very brown spots in it and the ice tea had a very non tea taste. Then we had to wait quite a while after we were done to get our check. Too say the least we were very disappointed in this visit as part of our reason to be in the area was to have a good lunch here. I guess any place can have a bad day as I hope this is not the norm. We will try here again the next time we are in the area to see if this is the case. If it is not back to being as good as it was in the past we will go to the other diner down the street.
Eaten here a couple times in busy summer and slower fall seasons. Decided to give it one more chance literally just coming from there for the last time. Sadly they are consistently serving bland food and the portions are very minimal. I think most diners in tourist areas are complacent, just rolling with it and probably have not dined in many places elsewhere except when on vacation. People, its your money and stomach, please inform the restaraunt of sub par food quality so hopefully they will make the adjustments to keep customers. Not doing so only lets them keep on going with that low quality and higher pricing.
Place was a good location, prices pretty decent as well. Mediocre food, burger was OK at best, mozzarella sticks were good but a bit cold. Onion rings were overcooked and no sauce. Staff was friendly, normal wait times. Probably wouldn’t come back, just my opinion
I might go here once every 5 years, and its sad to say the hotdogs are not worth $3 a piece anymore the works fries drowned in mustard with almost no meat sauce. Adozen dogs, one fries, 2 fountain drinks was 50$ and I gave a 10$ tip. The staff is awesome and down to earth and the atmosphere is super cozy!
A friend stopped by last week with a takeout order from New Way Lunch in Warrensburg. We tried the regular-size hot dogs with meat sauce and mustard. The hot dogs had a good flavor but not enough meat sauce was added. We could barely taste it. The buns were nicely steamed and fresh. See pic of a dozen hot dogs to go… Cost with tax was $32.10. Forgot to get fries to try and takeout menu. Will definitely dine in person during the week to try other food items.
Slow....got there 10 of 12, ordered 2 dogs and fries. I counted 10 people there.. got my dogs at 12:25 ridiculous! When I asked the waitress if I could please get my dogs... she gave me attitude and said the always come out with the fries. And you have to tell us if you want the dogs first.... I've been to all there locations including warrensburg many many times and before you can say dogs with everything they are on the table. She was not paying attention! Not sure who she is but it was not Kelly, Kelly is always on her game.. :) :)
A Diner that’s only open until 4 should probably serve breakfast all day. Which is my opinion, but if they don’t it should be clearly advertised somewhere either in the restaurant or on the website. The food that we did have was fine, run of the mill overpriced fried food.
Came here Friday at 3:30 pm to get some hot dogs..not realizing they closed at 4...but I walked in the door and the gentleman [ who gets upset very easily seen it before over the summer ] making the hot dogs shook his head and gave me a dirty look..because he already clean his hot dog station and knew I was coming in to get hot dogs because that's my regular go to..so I guess I am at fault coming in 30 mins before close..I'm more upset I didn't get a greeting with a smile..so I told him 4get it and took my money down to lucky E star Restaurant..And I couldn't belive and hot and delicious their Lucky dogs are you have to try them!!! I go there first before here you will have a way better experience and friendly service
