Chelo's Waterfront Bar & Grille - Warwick

Travellers, this is a wonderful seafood restaurant on the water in Warwick. The food was delightful. Traditional and then with a nice twist. The baked scrod has a wonderful crumb crust that has a garlic and basil component that makes it very yummy. Especially when you hit it with some fresh lemon. It was wonderful. The clam chowder never disappoints and the sides are all delicious. The atmosphere is bustling and busy. The outside deck is lovely and overlooks the water. There are also picnic tables available on a lawn. Very scenic. Check it out. We recommend. TLDR - great seafood great atmosphere!

I just had my elopement celebration at The Waterfront this past Saturday, March 9th. I just wanted to thank every single person who worked that day and made it so perfect. From my initial request and communications with Beth and Summer, who went above and beyond and made everything stress free, to the setup of the beautiful room, the waitresses and bartender, the food, everything was just simply amazing! We cannot wait to have another party here! Thank you again!

I have been to other Chelo’s and they been great. We live an hour away and decided to try Chelo’s Waterfront. We had an amazing experience, my wife loved it, and she can’t eat fish. I had the red chowder that was awesome. The clam cakes my favorite were cooked perfect. What topped it off was loo

What an amazing experience!! We came to celebrate my Grandmothers birthday. We were seated outside at a picnic table overlooking the marina. The weather was perfect, we stayed for 2 hours. We had no one around us it seemed so private. The waitress was kind, very attentive, and smiled every time she greeted us. She took her time taking my grandmothers order, & suggesting a dessert. It was cheese cake topped with fresh strawberries for the win!! The waitress lit a candle on the cake so we could sing happy birthday. She even took our picture! My Grandmother really felt special. The food was delicious. My Grandmother got clam cakes & chowder, my mom got calamari, I got the summer salad and customized it to make it vegan. We all left happier then when we arrived! What a great time.

Very nice experience. Staffs were friendly & attentive. We had the Whole belly clam & Poke bowl. Clams were fresh & delicious. The Poke bowl was small serving. It was good. Not bad but would rather order it at a different restaurant. Chelo is great for American menu.

Just went to Chelos this weekend. First weekend open since closing for the “winter”. No wait time, very attentive waitress. Drinks are good, food was good. They have a new crab Rangoon dip that is amazing.

Been to Chelo’s many times, but this is a bit different. A more seafood-oriented menu, on the warf. The place looks like a seaside restaurant, and has beautiful outdoor seating and bars. Campfires add to the overall experience. The food was good, and a bit more upscale, while still keeping the family favorites. The clam cakes, the steamers and even the fish and chips were great.

We celebrated a double birthday today. Gabrielle was fantastic. Food was great.

We planned a party at this location. The staff were so friendly and easy to work with. The banquet room upstairs is beautiful! It comfortably fit 80ish people plus a small dance floor. Bathrooms were clean. Bartender was great. We opted for a buffet and the food was delicious! Especially the steak tips and chicken parm. They let us in about 1.5hrs early to set up. They provided tables, chairs, linens, hightop tables, gift tables, dessert tables, plates, glassware and flatware. They also rented us a projector and screen. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a party, bridal or baby shower!

Attended our grandson wedding and at first surprised, but the staff was able to create a beautiful setting for the event.

It is a great place to enjoy a summer afternoon with wonderful food, excellent drinks, and a perfect outdoor waterfront atmosphere! The staff were all pleasant and very attentive, and the kitchen was timely with your orders. The clam cakes and chowder were super, and the baked cod dinner with green beans and baked sweet potato tasted awesome!

I love this place in the summer. Waterview, great outdoor area with fire pits, a stage and dance floor, live music on the weekends usually. Tends to get pretty busy so always make reservations if you are looking for a table. The food is amazing, I highly recommend if you like seafood. And they are known for their mudslides.

Great portion size, food was excellent. Plenty of staff to handle the lunch crowd. Located right at marina, so you get a nice breeze from the water and good views.

This is the spot to be at along the water!! Food was really good. The service was amazing. They have parking, which can get packed because everyone was to be here during the warm summer months. They have a live band playing Friday nights. Clean bathrooms. Two fire pits outside and a nice view to watch the sunset. The outdoor eating area has two levels and you can eat at the picnic tables in the lawn as well. Outdoor area with limited seating. This place is fabulous. Shouts to my server Katelyn you are truly wonderful.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, great drinks, fantastic service. I had stuffies to start and then the lobster avocado blt, and both were great. Can't wait to come back this summer.

Service A+, food delicious, cleanliness on point. Danielle a first day server went above n beyond accommodating our lg party of 9. Social distancing in compliance with rules. View was breath taking. The little things made my birthday extra special. Mgr A+ too.

We had a large party of 20 people and it was great! We sat outside under the covering, there was lots of space and a beautiful view. They did originally have the party seating separately, so we pushed the 2 tables together instead and it was fine. We had Mitchel for our waiter and he was fabulous! Very personable, great with all the kids & very accommodating for the person in our party with a good allergy! Overall was a great experience and we highly recommend !

My first time at this location. Loved it from the moment we walked in and were greeted by the lovely ladies who happily and graciously seated us exactly where we wanted. Service was outstanding...gave us ample time to view the menu and enjoy our conversation, the beautiful surroundings and the gorgeous day. Food arrived promptly. I had mahi tuna tacos. The BEST I have ever had. So good. My friend enjoyed white chowder and over the top clam cakes. What a gem of a restaurant in such a fantastic location. Looking forward to my second time there...and soon!

I love coming to Chello’s for the waterfront views—they’re gorgeous, especially around sunset! The food is tasty and there’s a good variety to choose from, though a few dishes weren’t perfect. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. A really nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal in Warwick.

Curb appeal was nothing spectacular. Plenty of parking. We ate outside and received wonderful service by Sara. We started with espresso martinis, but had to drink them out of plastic cups because we were outside. Not a fan of that! Tinis came up short with lots of froth. Sara suggested the beers and they were good. Ordered clam dish and fish tacos. Loved the ambiance. Prices were a bit high but expected near the water.

I’ve visited many times in the last 5 years and service has always been great. I ordered all 3 sangrias and calamari. The calamari wasn’t as good as before, no lemon and not much flavor but the Sangria was amazing as usual. Definitely love the atmosphere with music, outdoors and a good drink.

Chelos waterfront is very crowded but handles the crowds well. Food was ok. I had muscles with dipping bread for the absent sauce. Guess they ran out of the sauce.

Cute spot by the water, but nothing magnificent. The service was the best part. Abby was an absolute doll. The clam chowder and quahogs were also delicious. Get a table on the top deck for the best view. The first floor view is more of shed rather than the water.

Came here after a friend's suggestion. We were not disappointed. It was fairly busy for a Saturday afternoon. We reserved our table online. We arrived 15 minutes early and were sat a few minutes later. Quick and friendly service. Food and drinks were great. There was even live music. No complaints at all. We will definitely be back

Great place to take the family for a bite to eat, live music, & Beautiful Scenery. And the staff are Great, friendly and willing to sing us a song if it's your birthday 🎂.

One of my favorite waterfront restaurants, especially in the summer months. Live bands, ocean breezes, dinner, drinks, and dancing. Absolutely a great time for all ages. Slightly on the expensive side but if you consider it an event more than just dinner, it's worth it.

If you are ooking for a reasonable place to grab something to eat not too far from Providence airport, Chelo's is worth considering. It was about 15 minutes away so not a typical airport restaurant, but not far either. It was a nice day so we were interested in outdoor seating. They have an extensive patio that overlooks a local marina. The wait staff were friendly, and the food was served in a timely manner. The seared tuna salad was well prepared and fresh. I could have wished for some darker Muslim greens, most of the salad was just romaine, however the flavor was excellent. The fish-and-chips was a solid choice. In some regards it's listed as a waterfront restaurant, that's a bit questionable. You certainly have good views if the marina but you really don't have a view of the bay. Neither is there seating right on the water. There is free on site parking. When we were there, the restaurant was probably at 30% capacity and the parking lot was probably 50% full, so I imagine on popular weekend days parking can be tight. The entrance is handicapped accessible though there are not automatic doors.

Always a good atmosphere. Service isn't great though. The beers are nice and the cocktails too. My burger was cooked well, but underseasoned. Overall, the food was good. Great live music. Maybe a little overpriced.

Good seafood with good vibes. Nice and helpful staffs. Good atmosphere. We will get a place outside with the view of the bay next time when weather is good. Great place to get together with family and friends, sharing memorable time and meals together 👍🥰😍

I’ve never been disappointed in the times I’ve visited here. I always eat outdoors and it’s such a lovely view and space. The live music can be a little loud, but still enjoyable. I usually order the shrimp scampi. It could have a little bit more flavor in my opinion, a little on the bland side, but with a little garlic or pepper added in (or whatever your taste is) it would be a hit! Came out hot, still was delicious to me. The side salad it came with was massive in itself, left full! And the strawberry daiquiri was the perfect amount of refreshing for the weather that day. Also not pictured, but the stuffed quahogs and clam cakes are also a yummy app!

New in town for a couple of nights, we decided to explore local dining options while my husband played in the Rhode Island Open at Valley Country Club. After a quick Google search, we settled on this restaurant. When we arrived, the place was bustling with activity. Fortunately, we were seated outside promptly, which was a nice touch, given their ample seating. Our waitress was attentive, bringing our drinks quickly despite the busy atmosphere. Intrigued by the menu’s recommendation, I ordered six clam cakes. In hindsight, the fact that they were fried and served in a batch of six should have been a warning. My husband opted for the clam chowder. When the clam cakes arrived, they were the size of avocados. Cutting into one, I found a pasty, glue-like texture with no trace of clam. Disappointed, I sent them back, and they kindly credited our bill. We then ordered two hot lobster rolls. After sampling my husband’s clam chowder, which was quite good, our lobster rolls arrived. My husband was mistakenly given a cold lobster roll, which turned out to be a fortunate error. Unfortunately, my hot lobster roll was a disaster. It contained barely an ounce of overcooked, crispy lobster meat, devoid of flavor and butter. The enormous, dry roll was filled with nothing but lettuce. Disheartened, we returned to our hotel where I immediately reached for a bag of peanut M&M's to salvage the night.

I remember this place having alot more options but when we had gotten there there was not many options to chose from, our waiter was okay, very friendly but not as attentive (coming from a server herself) my food came out way before the rest of the tables causing it to get cold which sucked because we had ordered an appetizer prior to share and it didn’t come out till the rest of the food did. I really enjoyed my mac & salad too until just before my salad was finished i had found a good size bug in it , disappointing because i hadn’t checked thoroughly with the Caesar dressing, croutons and all the fixings covering the leafy green part and naively mixed it all in when i usually make sure the salad looks clean enough i mentioned it to my waiter but she didn’t seem fazed, not sure if i would go back seeing its not how i remember but hope during the summer when i give it another shot its a little better.

Staff are very friendly. So many menu options. Food is very average. Usually a hit or miss honestly. Location and sights are wonderful. Live music. Family friendly.

First timer looking for ocean views on Mother's day. Unimpressed with the 5 scallops over mushy cold risotto and a side of last night's cold beans, my son had the lobster blt which is served cold. Tuna nachos were unique but salty. $100 for those 3 items and a shirley temple, really not worth it. The servers are all young kids, it seems like a good place if you could care less what you eat and are getting off a boat, plenty of alcohol if that's your thing. The food needs serious improvement that was really bad and a waste of money ~ Fresh/Frozen. I actually made reservations and sat inside, plenty of seating was available ~ For $100 go to the Coast Guard house, big difference, no comparison.

My recent visit to Chelo's Waterfront and Grill left much to be desired. The evening began with a glimmer of hope as we were seated promptly at 6:29 pm. However, that glimmer quickly faded as we anxiously awaited our main course meals, which were finally served at a disheartening 7:22 pm. We started the meal with the white chowder with crab cakes, but unfortunately, it lacked the expected flavors that I had come to associate with Chelo's. My wife opted for the fish and chips, my daughter had the Mac and cheese with a grilled cheese sandwich, and I chose the ribeye sandwich. Regrettably, none of the dishes lived up to our expectations. One of the most disappointing aspects of this visit was the noticeable upcharge in prices at this waterfront and grill location compared to other Chelo's branches. It was disheartening to see that a burger, which would typically cost $12 elsewhere, was priced at a staggering $18 here. The ultimate disappointment was my ribeye steak sandwich, which arrived overcooked and distressingly soggy. The culinary letdown left me unsatisfied and questioning the quality of the food being served. To add to our dissatisfaction, we never received a refill on our beverages despite attempting to get the attention of the waitstaff multiple times. The lack of attentiveness only further dampened our experience. As if that weren't enough, we couldn't help but notice that 5 tables, which were seated after us, were already finishing their meals while we were still left waiting for our order to be served. The stark difference in service between us and those around us left us feeling overlooked and undervalued as customers. While I have always been a fan of Chelo's, this particular experience has made me hesitant to return to this location. I will opt to visit other Chelo's branches where the service is consistently top-notch and the food lives up to expectations. For now, I'll have to pass on revisiting Chelo's Waterfront and Grill.

Our server was great and is not to blame for the mediocre food or the seating arrangement. Being seated next to a dish bin where the staff seems to be in competition as to whom can make the most noise is highly unpleasant. Similarly, the area was set back from the main dining area that other servers treated the space as a break room to vent about their tables. Terrible vibe. Probably won’t return.

Food was just okay, nothing special. I got the hot buttered lobster roll and my friend got the fish and chip. We each got a drink which mine was delicious. From the minute we sat down, it seemed like the waitress was in a mood and almost like she could care less about us. We ordered waters to start and that already made her mad for some reason she just walked away. From then on it just seemed like we were such a bother to her. We watched her go to her other table MANY more times before acknowledging us again. It took 30 minutes from when we sat down to even get our appetizer. Which was calm cakes and chowder that was luke warm by the time it got to us. We finished the appetizer almost completely before she even came back over to take our food order. We're now 40 minutes into being here. Never asked if I wanted another drink so I didn't order another one with her didn't feel like she deserved the extra money. We were so uncomfortable we will not be returning. The bill was $111, which isn't terrible but it's also not chump change. Nonetheless I tipped the girl 20% and I hope she had a better day, but I'd much rather go next door to Blu on the water and get exceptional service, food, and drinks. Her name on the bill said "Sleepy Katie" so I see the nickname must suit her personality.
