Really reliable spot for comfy seating and good acoustics for a group. Surprisingly good for early dinners with kids, they have space to stretch and plenty of options like tater tots and sliders. They give you Wikky sticks which is above and beyond in today’s restaurant atmosphere.
City Works Watertown — please don’t do this to us. I just found out you’re chopping the pork chop off the menu in February and I was in literal tears. I’m not even being dramatic. This is one of the few places left where you can get a real pork chop on the bone, and honestly what’s up with restaurants acting like bones don’t exist anymore? Even steakhouses are out here going boneless. This pork chop is that dish. Perfectly cooked every single time, juicy, seasoned right, and it doesn’t even need anything… but then you add that maple-glazed applesauce situation? Game over. I order mine on the side because I like to dip (I’m picky and I own it), and I always swap for double mashed potatoes instead of the shoestring onions. It’s consistently one of the best meals I get anywhere. I’m also not a once-in-a-while visitor. I’ve been a loyal customer for the past 3 years, and I’m here a LOT (twice a week, sometimes three). I bring my laptop, plug in, have a couple beers, and get work done. It’s my spot. Shoutout to Olivia behind the bar. She’s absolutely incredible. Warm, sweet, remembers what I like, and she cakes the rim of my glass with caramel and cinnamon during the holidays, and will even keep doing it after the season until the caramel runs out. That kind of service is rare. So yes, I’m starting a campaign. DON’T CHOP THE CHOP. Corporate, please hear me. Removing this pork chop is a huge mistake. Keep it on the menu. DontChopTheChop 🙏🏾
I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Me and my daughter went here for the first time. The service was amazing, and our waiter paid attention to everything. We had to catch a movie, so we had a short time slot, and he made sure to get us our entire meal and check in 30 minutes. The food tasted extremely decadent and for a pretty good price too! Definitely coming back here again because the service was beyond outstanding. Five stars!
This is a well-run, clean sports bar. There is a plethora of options for both dining and the bar. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Plenty of TVs and menu options. Appetizers were the star of the show this evening. Located in a nice shopping center, I would definitely recommend on an NFL Sunday.
It was excellent as always! Great food, great service and quick timing! Glen was absolutely wonderful 🫶
We had a great dinner at City Works during a recent visit to Boston. We were staying at the Residence Inn and were able to walk from the hotel. The area called Arsenal Battery is quite nice with lots of shops and other restaurants. It was festively decorated with holiday lights. We sat at a high top and enjoyed the many screens to watch games. Mario was our server. He was attentive and helpful. I had Spicy Shrimp Skewers - a Chef’s Favorite item - and my husband had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries. Both were excellent. We really enjoyed the warm Chocolate Cookie served in a cast iron skillet with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream for dessert. Highly recommend City Works!
Friendly service, nice beers and the food was good. In particular I enjoyed the fish and chips. It was very light and flaky with just the right amount of batter. I appreciate that it wasn't over salted. The impossible meat quesadillas were also nice. I wasn't a fan of the cauliflower however. It was a bit too sweet for my taste.
Our first time at City Works didn't disappoint! The Scorpion Burger (sweet and spicy at the same time), with crispy on the outside French fries and a cleansing salad were fabulous. The ambience was just right - good lighting, lots of TVs, and an alcohol drink board that was rich and full. Mario, our staff person, was professional, friendly, offered suggestions when asked, then left us to enjoy the meal and each other. Definitely going back!!
The server Mai was fantastic. She took care of us and was super sweet & attentive. The food is also quality you can tell the kitchen knows what they’re doing. The beer selection is endless and local flavors are amaIng. The manager was very friendly they showed us love even though we’re from New York! Haha
It’s a great beer brewery style restaurant though I didn’t imbibe…clean spacious with music (medium loud) The queso dip was delicious with fresh fried Chios 4.5 stars We had blackened chickened pasta 4 stars The cheeseburger was 4.5 FF was 4(average from both opinions) stars Worth a visit The other recommended options looked so good. But from out of town Do who knows if I’ll be back! Service solid. Knew when we finished appetizers and when to bring mains
Just an amazing experience every time. The fish and chips were exactly what I was looking for! Light and airy and not just a big slab of fish. Come in and look for D behind the bar. Just a great personality and an outstanding guy!
the food is actually phenomenal i was munching so hard !!! exquisite. say yes to the mimosa flight + chilaquiles
Have you been here yet? Watertown has done it with this one! Great sports bar worth the visit. Plenty of parking options. Seating options are both indoors and outside. Indoors is well lit, open layout with lots of seating options* You can see the games on wall to wall screens! Very comforting atmosphere. Took No time to be seated. Our server, Chante(or Shante*) was fantastic! Took great care of us. Great menu options. Drinks were done well and the bartender was very kind* Both Appetizers and dinner were delightful! Make sure to have this bar on your list to watch your next sporting event!
Adam was great. Very friendly and accommodating. We had a great meal.
I stumbled across city works after shopping in Arsenal Yards for a quick drink and some apps to watch the March Madness game. I was very overwhelmed by the menu and had no idea where to start. Thankfully the bartender Olivia was kind enough to walk me through the menu options as well as suggesting her favorite items even though the bar was slammed. As a first time customer here, I was impressed by the way the bartenders take the time to connect with their clients even though they are visibly busy. Overall, the food and drinks were amazing and the service was outstanding. I applaud City Works for their quality of business in all aspects, especially their eye for hiring staff that genuinely care about their customers.
First time here last night. The service was good but my friends would have ordered a second drink if the wait staff had come by sooner. My bigger was excellent and side sales with ginger dressing very good. The cauliflowers appetizer was tasty and enough for 3.
I ate bacon cheeseburger and it was great. The service was amazing from the seating service to the girl who helped me to chose two IPA beers. The beer list consist of 90 different beers. The burger was well cooked and very delicious. Baked beans with bacon for side were also very tasty. Definitely a great experience.
Amazing food the Ruben eggrolls and the octoberfest burger was fire. 100% recommend 👌
Nice place and a great location. It is located in a plaza where many shops around. People can walk around and then come and have great food or drinks. It is a pretty big place and very clean. The interior design is nice, you feel comfy. Their cranberry mojito is so yummy :) The last time we were there with my boyfriend, we had Buffalo chicken dip, fried pickles, chicken tacos. The food was great. They have a great selection of beers. Our server was such a nice lady, she always checked on us. They have parking around, so it is not a problem to pack close to the place.
This place is absolutely great, the New York Strip Steak was very delicious and soft, it practically melted in your mouth, and the desserts are also pretty good, the Baked Cookie is good for having after steak or other meats. Service is also very good, our waiter is helpful and friendly.
Only amazing things to say about my server Maria! She was super friendly and very attentive. 10/10 would recommend. Can’t wait to come back!
Glen was attentive, always around and super friendly! Glen took our orders fast and had good menu recommendations! Thanks for the good food, atmosphere and for playing the Patriots game!
This was a great place for lunch! Our waiter was attentive, friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The menu was diverse and perfect for a casual lunch. The environment was ideal for a small group to be able to have a conversation without having to yell. I’m looking forward to returning.
Loved the drink options and yummy food. Fun environment and had the best server, Hazel! She was super kind & it was a great bday lunch!
Maria was exceptional with me and my family. She made our experience there great and was so happy and nice with us. If I go back I want her to be my server again.
I went to City Works for lunch with two others and our server Berfin was the best! She had a lot of knowledge on the menu and was very attentive. We loved the pretzel bites.
Zarek was our waiter. He was polite, informative and attentive! A great server! The food was all excellent! I had a chopped salad with a burger on it which the kitchen seemed happy to make although it was not on the menu. The selection of beer was terrific! Highly recommend!
City Works deserves real credit for their chili — it’s easily one of the best comfort-food dishes you can get in the area. It comes out hot, hearty, and loaded with flavor without being overly salty like a lot of bar chilis. The seasoning has that perfect balance of smoky and savory, the meat is tender, and the texture is exactly what chili should be: thick, not watery, with just the right amount of kick. What really sets it apart is how well it pairs with everything else on the menu. Whether you’re grabbing it as a starter or making a meal out of it, it hits the spot every time. Great portion size too — surprisingly filling for the price. If you’re at City Works and want something reliable, comforting, and legitimately delicious, the chili is the move.
Olivia is amazing! She makes a killer cocktail and gave the best appetizer recommendations! Her company was an added bonus! I will absolutely recommend this establishment to everyone, I already can’t wait to go back!
Loved our visit at City Works! Came with my kids, food was great, and the service was excellent. Our server Yunis was friendly, patient, and made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!
The food was delicious, well prepared, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. What really made the difference was the service — especially from Glen, who was extremely kind, professional, and always attentive. Thanks to him, our experience was even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Hazel was exceptional. Not only was she extremely friendly, but I asked her about her preferences about the menu. She gave me recommendations for both appetizers and entrees that I followed, and I LOVED the meal I had. If all the servers were like her, this would be classified as a 5 star restaurant on Google. Ask for her when you come in.
Hazel was amazing. Super friendly, went out of her way to make (spectacular) suggestions on food, and was already there as soon as we needed something as if she was reading our minds. Love the food, love the service.
Absolutely love this place. So many bars can serve beers well, BUT - this one can serve it with charisma. Quiana was prompt with her service and although we initially wanted to stop in for a quick bite, we ended up staying for the excellent service and wholesome community vibe that the staff instilled in our experience. 10/10 would recommend to 10 friends. *ATTENTION CITY WORKS* - Quiana is the best bartender you will ever have.
Excellent Service from Hazel! My wife and I had a wonderful experience at City Works in Watertown recently. From the moment we sat down, our server Hazel provided outstanding service that really elevated our visit. Hazel was incredibly professional throughout our meal - attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. She made great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed at just the right times. It's clear she takes pride in her work and creating a positive dining experience for guests. The food was delicious as always, but Hazel's exceptional service is what made this visit particularly memorable. If you're visiting City Works in Watertown, I highly recommend requesting Hazel as your server. We'll definitely be back!
Adam was our host and hooked us up with the best smash burger tacos and southern Mac and cheese in the game. Good vibe in here, not crazy loud music and a wide assortment of sports games on the screens.
Service and atmosphere was great and loved eating there, just food was not for me.
Really nice spot! Huge draft beer selection with plenty to choose from. The beef tacos were solid, and the pretzel bites (that were in that empty basket) disappeared pretty fast and were surprisingly good. Bar service was neat and quick too 🍻
The service is excellent, and I was so grateful for quick food. I must say, I don’t like most of the things I’ve had here. The Buffalo chicken salad, for example, would have been AMAZING without cooked carrots and celery. It tasted like those canned, pre-made tuna salads you get from the corner store that have the soggy celery and carrots. No bueno. I also don’t like the chips. They aren’t traditional corn tortilla chips, and the texture and saltiness is off (nor do I like the puffed “chips” that come with the duck nachos! I asked for the nachos sans those this time and still didn’t like it. Just…not a lot of flavor. Need more salt and maybe guacamole and salsa). This is my third time ordering from here, and I keep expecting I’ll find something miraculous, but last time I got the salmon, and it was okay, but it just struck me as not all that. The drinks, however, those are fantastic!!!! But I give it four stars because the service is amazing. I have only ever encountered servers who truly wow me! I eat out a lot so that’s saying something. They go above and beyond and seem to genuinely be enjoying their job, getting along with each other, and creating an atmosphere that feels relaxed and fun.
While the food and atmosphere was good, service is a big let down. The waiter was impatient. Had no time to take the orders and his constant cool phrase "i will come back later". Looks the staff here are an unhappy lot. Even the bartender had no time to explain or put together a flight of beers. What's the point in boasting "we have the largest collection of beers" and not having the staff with requisite knowledge to suggest the variety to customers? Cheese curds and popcorn chicken were great though.
Busy night but service was great and food was good also
Fun place to go for food and drinks and hang out with friends. Lots of beer selection and many TVs to catch sports on. Food was good but nothing to rave about. The BBQ platter was good, the chili warming and tasty. The chicken tacos were quite dry and bland, and the cauliflower was meh. The vibe of the restaurant was nice though.
We had a reservation for 7 at 1:45pm when we got there . We waited until 2:20 to sit . There were many tables and they kept taking people in , so finally we sat after waiting a long time and ordered , the only thing that I like was the shrimp tacos , the chicken tacos had barbecue sauce on them and were Spicey not at all to my liking. The pasta was good and the pizza . The macaroni and cheese was ok and the pasta . But it’s my opinion and I would definitely recommend the shrimp tacos . Over all the environment was good a nice vibe with a walk up bar . The kid friendly meals were awesome , French fries and the pizza , the cheeseburger with fries was great and the pasta
It was my first time here, and I wasn't too impressed with the food. The service was great, friendly and helpful staff. Inside was nicely decorated and pretty clean. To start, I ordered tortilla chips with salsa and wanted guacamole, but they only offered avocado mash. The salsa was really runny, and the tortilla chips were cold with no salt. We ordered fish and chips and an Impossible Burger with no cheese. The impossible burger was pretty good, but fries were under seasoned. Overall, I guess this place is definitely more for enjoying drinks, which I did not have. It's nice for a gathering with a group of friends but for a satisfying meal, I won't visit again.
We made a reservation to stop for dinner before headed into Boston, but never made it since the food service was very slow and disappointing. Our waiter was so friendly and answered our questions about the menu. He was also very patient. In general, the vibe is cool, drinks are good and its a diverse place to hang out. BUT.. let me tell you about our food. The original app we had ordered was no longer in stock so we had to decided on another one. We ordered something else, but the sauce’s pretty much saved it. I ordered the flatbread pizza but it was burnt and needed more balsamic on top. The crust was a little burnt in some places. The chicken was very rubbery and cold which was extremely disappointing since I paid extra for the protein. My husband ordered the two plate combo: the wings were ok, but not what he expected and the pulled pork was not to my liking. It was clump together and had a weird texture. In my opinion, it did not seem like actual bbq pork, but more like pork from a can, which was NOT what we were expecting. A rush came in when we were ready so it took a few min to get our check and to go box. Overall I was very disappointed with the food- it was not work the $120 for a 1.5 hour meal. I would not go back to order food, only for drinks.
The burger was disappointing for the price. I ordered it well done, but it came out extremely dry, both the burger and the fries were some of the driest I’ve had. I understand well done means less juicy, but this was over the top, especially for an $18 burger. There were also no condiments on the burger, which didn’t help. Service was okay overall, though our waitress was away for a bit when I could’ve used some water.
Went last night with friends. We had two drinks each. 4 Old fashioned, 1 wine, 1 NA beer. Shrimp tacos, the highly recommended flatbread (basically, standard large saltine from Sysco with some cherry tomatoes and basil thrown on it for $17) and a bowl of chili. $162. Really low on value there. The 'flatbread' was a joke. The drinks were small. Service was slow, and busy upselling. Left poor, hungry and annoyed. 2 stars cuz I didn’t get food poisoning.
Their salads used to be of ample proportion, they have sadly resorted to unnecessary shrinkage.
I came here for the first time this past Saturday 11/8 with my wife. The look of the overall place was really nice so we were excited that we were going to have a really good meal. Our waiter seemed nice enough, but after we placed our order, he pretty much disappeared. There was one point when he came by to ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks, but he never brought them. Our entrées arrived stone cold and we had to fly down a manager as our server was off socializing with a friend. The manager was super nice And said she would get our entrees re-fired and comp our meal. When our meals came back out, they were hot, however, underseasoned, and one of my chicken breasts was completely dry and inedible. We decided not to complain as our meal was already being comped. When it came time to leave, our waiter was nowhere to be found again, and we had to walk to the host to stand to make sure we were all good to go, We thought we were getting our meal comps and we’re a little surprised to find out we still had to pay for ou but whatever. I scanned my card on the toast tablet and selected the stand 20% tip even though our waiter was not great, only to find that the 20% suggested tip was based on the original order price(which I understand) but when they had re fired our entrees, they rang the entree in again so the tip was based on 4 entrees not 2. This is purposely padding the bill to get a hire tip! When I brought this up to the manager she fixed it but still insisted I pay for the $10 salad. At this point the fact that you didn’t just comp the whole thing is really frustrating. Horrible experience from start to finish.
If you go to their website, they advertise themselves as a sport bar willing to tune one of their multiple TVs to an sport event unless it's pretty weird and obscure. I stopped by with a friend and asked to tune to a Spanish soccer game (La Liga) that was on ESPN+. Happy to spend $150 on food and drinks while watching it. The young lady at the reception acted as if I asked her to solve the mystery of cold fusion. She had to check with her manager through her radio and after 5 minutes she said, no we can't do. When I challenged her saying that it's just ESPN and they had 20 TVs tuned to something nobody was watching, she started to give me attitude, even dismissing me with a hand gesture while mouthing "bye-bye". I have been there several times and have taken my research group from a local Biotech for several outings. I guess they don't need mine nor my company's business.... To the management: Better training regarding respect and courtesy towards customers will go a long way. My advice: avoid that place. Plenty of better options around.
