The gentleman who took our order wasn't very friendly. He wasn't rude; just not very engaging. The food, of course was delicious! Prices are high!!

Always delicious and great price. Young girl at the front counter was a pleasure and is the standard of customer service. Kid expediting orders popped open the tartar sauce and the girl up front said she needed another. He said there are none and he has to prep more. She went back and prepped them herself and kindly reminded him that he needs to take better care of people's order because he wouldn't want someone to do that with his sauce. His response was, I don't use sauce anyways so I don't care. I was damn near ready to say something to the little punk but that young girl at the counter had it handled. Kudos to the cook and staff but that kid doing the expediting and assembly needs to find a new job. I'll be back but only because of the other staff members and.... it's fkn Ted's fishfry..... there are quite a few now to go to but I'll continue to go to this location just off of the care was taken with my service. That girl up front should get a raise or trained to run shifts.

It was awesome there don't wait long there have a line of people but you're in and out in like less than 3 minutes they get your order they get it right the food is great there's dining room looks awesome nice clean establishment definitely five stars on all accounts

Visited last week for a quick bite with my family. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious! The portions were perfect as well. Michael the manager took great care of us when something was missing. We don’t get to Ted’s often enough due to our local one closing, but Watervliet Teds is our new spot. Thank you again, Michael!

Classic inexpensive standby for locals. I showed up starving and still couldn't eat more than $20 worth of food. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was great! This is probably my favorite Ted's location. Parking is easy and plentiful and I've never had to deal with traffic getting here.

I have been a Ted's customer ever since I could drive. My family and friends would go there once a week for Ted fish fry with chilly sauce or tarter sauce plus a large order of French fries ketchup right on top the goodness Also a order of onion rings coleslaw salad The Ted's I was at had just Been remodel to bigger and comfort tables and booth Unlike before when you got up and left I had a nice red line across my mid section I still head here when I am home . Ted's has such great food! I had the fish tacos for the first time tonight - delicious. Was out to dinner with the family, adults and kids, everyone was happy. The kitchen is so efficient. Even when it's busy the line moves quick. A+++

If you want a quick bite (hamburger, fries, onion rings, fish fry etc.) this is the place. Depending on weather you can sit in (recently nicely updated decor & seating) do take out or sit outside. Best fish in town!

Great food. Great service. Great experience. The Watervliet location is my favorite among all the Ted's restaurants and I don't live anywhere near it. Will drive out of the way to eat there. They're always on point. In fact, I'm getting hungry just writing this review.

Best New England Clam Chowder in the area. Love this place. Have never had a single food item from here that wasn't phenomenal, although my favorite dinner is definitely the fried scallops. I love the Munchers too. If you like jalapeño poppers and cheese potatoes, you should def try em sometime! Unique and tasty.

I had a yen for fish fry Sunday night. Googled and found Ted's open till 8:45 so I went straight there. At 8:30 PM, there was a line. That speaks volumes. The fish fry was perfect. I like the folks who work there. I hadn't been there in years and it was the same crew. They are very kind to everyone and try hard to please. Service is fast too.

My review is simple.... I live in southeast Georgia. I come up here with my son and fiance. The requirement for me making the1000 mile drive each way is i am promised teds... end of story!! And I'm going tomorrow😁😁😁😎😎😁😁😁 Update: got my ted's... service was awesome and the food amazing. Thank you for the wonderful meal!!! I bought 2 mini hotdogs with everything, they were the best. The roll was steamed perfectly, they were loaded with meat sauce, onions and mustard. A feast to remember. I also got the onion rings, also outstanding, the scallop roll and fish fry were wonderful, cooked perfectly. Nobody makes them like Ted's. The staff is efficient and friendly. They get 12 stars from me.

Awesome as ever!! I just love the food! The People are always so nice and the food is great!! The only thing is I wish their booths were better!! It's all just cheap plywood that some big bolts hold the tile cover on and just one pole bracket in middle supports the seat and people!! I'm sorry but no one sits in the middle!! It started when I was a boy living in Watervliet and eating Ted’s Fish Fry. Later as a newlywed, I returned to Ted’s Fish Fry with my bride to share memories of my youth at Ted’s Fish Fry in Watervliet. Go forward nearly 40 years and we’ve returned to Ted’s Fish Fry and to recall our first shared experience of Ted’s Fish Fry in Watervliet. The rush of memories came together tonight when we had dinner at Ted’s Fish Fry and capped off our visit with Mike, manager at the Watervliet location. The fish fry was terrific and the customer service was both efficient and uniquely friendly. I can unreservedly recommend Ted’s Fish Fry in Watervliet to begin (or renew) your own experience. BTW-best when shared!

I love this place with all my heart. The fish is always fresh and delicious. The chowder is excellent. Even the fries are on point. The coleslaw is great. The people are always helpful and efficient whether in person or over the phone. My personal favorite Ted’s. I had been looking for a fish and chips spot as it’s my favorite thing and despite the naysayers, Ted’s delivers and is fantastic. Yes they have cod (I personally prefer haddock) and while I’m not a huge fan of cod, theirs is GREAT. So good, I might’ve driven it 200 miles so my mom could try some too and she gave her stamp of approval as well!

What’s not to love about a Capital Region staple! The fish fries are consistently great. The fries are awesome especially if you love ketchup. They have really good clam rolls and they serve Pepsi! This particular location in Watervliet got a really nice upgrade. It was so welcome to see! And who doesn’t love the little wooden forks that come in your fries.

1st visit to their ORIGINAL store in Watervliet in years. Because it was a Friday I got an order of a pound of fish to go, and ordered 3 mini dogs with the works as a special treat for my mom. It did not disappoint! The fish was hot, crispy, and fresh tasting. The portion was thick and perfectly cooked. The chili sauce is an excellent addition on the side. Mom appreciated the dogs which were loaded with yummy smelling meat sauce, mustard and onions. There was a line as to be expected at noon time but the gentleman who took our orders was proficient at his job and the folks behind the scenes were working non stop and it looked like a seamless effort! I was there was a 10-15 minutes total and I had front door parking so it worked out well for me.

This place is an institution. Great staff. Always a kind word to be had. Consistent food churned out fast. I feel like my hands got bigger holding the fish fry. Portions are smaller and prices are higher because of inflation. But, the quality is great. Cant beat the crispy fish fry slathered in tarter and cocktail on a steamed bun.

Well, I must say this is the best Ted’s fish fry out of all of them. They use the original recipe when you bite into one of their fish fries. All you taste is a buttery piece of fish. Their food is delicious. The people are very nice there. They did the whole restaurant inside over. It’s very comfortable other loAnd you just can’t get better food. At any of the other locations like this, this is the best text fish fry in Watervliet. I wish the prices were a little like they were back in the day, but everybody’s prices have changed so if you’re looking for a great seafood dinner go here you won’t regret it.

Went home after 2 years and found out the Troy original locations were closed after covid. Sadly the history means something to us boomers. Fish Fry was awesome and nothing beats the onion rings. Watervliet and Latham are still going strong with newer locations in Clifton Park and soon in Malta.

I've been going here for 20 years and never had a bad experience. The burgers, fries, and shakes are amazing and haven't changed one bit. The mini-dogs are great, too. The fish is the obvious stand out, it's fresh and prepared perfectly every time!! I don't know how they do it. Friendliest staff, fantastic timeless atmosphere with photographs from across the decades strung up on the walls, lovely service with everyone being so helpful and kind. Every Halloween I stop by to say hello and get a little treat from time to time. Best place in Port Schuyler by a landslide.

Been coming here my whole life!! It only gets better! New dining room, we'll new to me, is gorgeous and comfortable. Know what you want before you get in line, though they are patient if you need a minute. It's quick, delicious, affordable food with a warm, attentive, efficient (*very* efficient) staff, served in a clean, comfortable restaurant. The menu has expanded, and there's something for everyone, not just fish lovers! Even my brother in law who has a deadly shellfish allergy can eat here because they have a dedicated fryer for the fish vs. fries. Ten thousand percent recommended, even by the guy who can't eat fish!!

Ted's Fish Fry has been a staple of the Capital District for 75 years now. As a kid, I would go there quite frequently with my family. Today we took advantage of the anniversary special of 75-cent fish fries. Each location will offer this value all week long, rotating from one to the other. If you get your card stamped and go to each one you enter a contest to win a free fish fry every day for a year. God bless you if you can do that. Anyway, the first location was their Flagship Watervliet restaurant which as you can see from the picture, the line was over an hour but well worth the wait. They have the best onion rings and serve fish fries with either tartar sauce or their homemade chili sauce which nobody seems to know about outside of the Capital District. Congratulations to the Deeb family for the years of success.

Fortunately they are very efficient at taking orders and preparing orders. The customer service alone deserves 5 stars. Let’s get to good stuff - fish fry lunch special with cole slaw onion rings, mini hot dogs, munchers, and buffalo shrimp were all winners with the assortment of sauces. Temperature was perfect and all of the food was clearly fresh. This was my first visit and I am already planning a return trip. Yum yum!

I'm totally enamored with Ted's Fish Fry and have been for more than 20 years. The food is always good, the place may be very crowded and the line long, but it's all worth it whether you eat in your car, home, or in-house, you'll be happy and full depending on what you've ordered and how big the servings are.

Love Ted's for an occasional fix of fried seafood. We hit a Ted's every now and then, and they always hit the spot. Clam rolls and scallop rolls are pretty good. The wife loves their fish fry. I'm a fanatic for their milkshakes. Not sure what the secret is - perhaps they use ice milk? Whatever it is, I love them.

The food it's always good. Never a complaint. They have a check in program that you can earn a free fish and it sends texts that say "we miss you" but at least 3 times I've went to a Ted's that their system isn't working and I couldn't check in and the worker's tell me there's nothing I can do. Kind of disappointment and takes the excitement of this fat girl earning a free fish!

Love this place for years. Always been a family favorite. The service is fast and accurate. The price is always good for the quality of the food that you receive. We usually enjoy a fish fry and onion rings both are extremely tasty with great portion size. The location can be a little challenging, parking can be tight. There can be a bit of a wait as they offer only Window Service inside and peak times can have a long line at the window.

While I do enjoy a good fish fry from any of the Ted's stores, today it was not that time. The fish tasted off. The fish had a dark color and taste was fishy. Everything else was great. Same great service, clean tables and a correct order. Everyone has a bad day, I will be back to check.

I'm in the area on business. I stopped at a nationwide chain, a seafood competitor, and waited over half an hour for my order before I gave up and asked for a refund. I'm staying in Albany and a search didn't turn up a store from that chain in this market, but I noticed several Ted's locations and decided to give them a try. The food was good but not special. The shrimp were large and tasted good. The fries were average. And the coleslaw was typical coleslaw. My issue is more one of price. Ted's charges about 50% more for the same meal that I could get at the other restaurant. They do have other offerings that look interesting and I may give them another chance. But at this point I'm not impressed. Sorry Ted's.

I have been at this Ted’s many times. I was there Friday around 5:30-6:00 and was disappointed 😞 The fish fry was cooked but breathing fell off and I also had onion rings and the same thing happened plus they were exceptionally greasy. What happened this time? Were they not left in the fryer long enough? Please let me know. Thank you. This is the only time something like this happened.

Ordered a fish fry dinner with onion rings, platter came out with fish pieces and an empty hot dog roll, onion rings were cold. Asked for a takeout container to take onion rings and Fish pieces home to reheat was given a brown paper bag (they don’t have containers) really!!! How cheap!!!!I threw the food out! The fish is good but everytime time you go there the workers is always playing on their food. This one in watervlliet needs to do better. I went at night time and the manager does not care what they do. Using the same gloves from playing around on their phone is not good. The manager their at night needs to do his job and stop the workers being on their phone when they are on the clock and when they are preparing food it’s germs. And then when I had also got my order they tried giving me a fish that was a Lil burnt. Advise for the night manager do your job the right way or get a different position

Was told I had everything, got home and found i didn't get my two burgers, also asked for the chili sauce to be on the side in anticipation that I wouldn't like it. Got home after the second time there to grab my burgers and discovered the chili sauce all over the fish fry, hated the chili sauce. Just returned with my meal of fis ( no chips) and a side cole slaw. When I order price had increased a whole $ more then online menu price; I was told because they just raised it yesterday. Extremely disrespectful!, sums up the greeting I got from them after helping an elder lady in with her wheel chair I checked out there meals then went over even thru I was there first the front end completely avoided me n went to the next customer. I’m like what am I chopped liver ? He avoided me n went on with the next customers order. So I left. I found it very disrespectful.

They have really gone downhill used to go all the time. Last 2 times got sick as a dog off the fish fry. Maybe oil isn't changed enough. Female employee had her fingers in her mouth that's a no no. And talking politics and how great trump is. I'm done they lost my business.

I used GRUBhub. I ordered a steak sandwich, onion rings, and coleslaw. I got a fish plank and fish fry. The driver was useless, and Ted's refused to do anything to make it right. I've been going to this restaurant all of my life. I was given a refund through GRUBhub. However, after the way I was treated, I will never eat at Ted's again. I see why they've closed other restaurants, etc their service and food are disgusting. Another local restaurant is down the toilet.
