Opinions de Lucky Hare Bar & Grill Watkins Glen
We stopped here with my Nephew & his family for lunch after a hike at Watkins Glen State Park. They seated us outside on the patio overlooking Seneca Lake. What a beautiful view! We all enjoyed our lunch and the Beers were very tasty! All in all it was a great find for us, we will definitely be back!
Visited 2/28. Excellent experience! The bartender was so kind & relaxed. Great atmosphere, delicious beer & beautiful view. Thank you. 😊
We have been enjoying Lucky Hare in their Watkins location. We go weekly because the food and the beer are great. We stopped in today we had their New England Clam chowder. It was amazing, out of the park, full of clams and veggies, so good.
We stopped for lunch and enjoyed it. We all had the clam chowder and everyone loved it, I think it was the best I’ve ever had. For lunch I had the catfish with sweet potato fries both were delicious. AJ was our server and she did a great job. Definitely will return.
Love this place. The food is always good, and the drinks amazing. The staff make this place the best. Enter the LH Bar and Grille and you'll see multiple faces, all helping eachother. The lake view is just a bonus!
Came here pretty late in the evening as it was one of the only spots open in Watkins Glen. I was not expecting such a great, seemingly seasonal, menu with so much variety in the sandwich department. Great meal!!! I will be back next time I’m in the area.
We came for Sunday brunch, looking for lakeside seating, and the view did not disappoint! The food was delicious and well-made. Highly recommended!
My new favorite place! The menu is so varied and the food is delicious! I hate to admit it, but I have been here 3 times in the past month with different friends and family. 😅 The owner, Denise, is so friendly, as are all of the employees. Our food came quickly and the wait staff is so attentive. The view of the lake and boats coming in and out makes it feel like we are on vacation! There is so much food, I have taken half home each time I have come. The Lucky Hare beer is extremely varied, and Hubby loved that. Eat here!
Nice location right on the south side of Seneca lake. Marina access right nearby so you can see boats going in/out as you eat. Minimal indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor seating. Beer is fine, food is good with enough options.
We ate here after hiking the WGNP trail. We had a group of 10 with 2 dogs. We sat outside on a picnic table under and awning facing the lake. The staff brought us a bowl of water for the dogs. The staff was kind and the food was good. The menu was limited but the beautiful location, quality of food and staff friendliness were great!
Fantastic. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Sat quickly and checked on regularly. As it was cold out, we sat inside. The space is inviting with a great view. The food was amazing. Fresh and cooked perfectly. If we weren't just passing through, this would be a regular place to visit. Recommended.
Came here for dinner and some brews! Highly recommend the Oktoberfest this time of year! It was delicious! We also got the crab dip appetizer that was so absolutely delicious (would highly recommend!) We also got burgers and they were delightful too! We went on a Wednesday night and the place was packed! There was one server and one bartender and they held the place down like champions! We were very impressed with the atmosphere and establishment itself but even more impressed with the wait staff! Highly recommend eating/drinking here!
Great restaurant with amazing staff, plenty of indoor seating & outdoor tables next to the marina. Their Oktoberfest beer is splendid & burgers as well. We had a great time.
Sunday brunch was great! We recommend the Sausage Biscuits and gravy- with fresh, delicious biscuits... Nashville Fried Chicken and waffles were fantastic as well. Coleman, our server was spot on with his suggestions...
Nice spot for lunch, the wings were good and so was the wrap. Seneca fries delish, service was timely and the waiters attentive. The drinks left a bit to be desired but the food definitely made up for it. Also the parking was good
A lovely place to have a beverage and food by the water, set right in the marina of Seneca Lake, beautiful! Jalapeno Pineapple Margarita was delicious! Also we loved the Spicy Peach wings! The hot ones were also delicious and similar to the hot flavor of Buffalo Wild Wings
What a great find for us. I had the turkey wrap and sweet potato fries and it was delicious. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck watching the boats and listening to the music, it was nice summer vibe. I loved the lavender lemon drop and key lime pie as well.
The food was amazing. I had the boom boom shrimp wrap. Very good food. Service was great too. We sat outside on the deck overlooking Seneca Lake. Seneca Harbor Park is nearby as well.
Fun little restaurant / brewery right on the lake front. Plenty of seating inside and out and spectacular views of the lake. Food was delicious and was served promptly. Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable of the area, as we asked her for some suggestions / recommendations for first-time visitors. I would definitely return to the Lucky Hare again!
Lucky Hare in Watkins Glen is a fantastic spot with great food, drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere. We tried the house burger, and it was delicious, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and the lake views made the experience even better.
Perfect day to sit by the lake and listen to live music from Cast Iron Cowboys. Fun assortment of beverages and NA drinks too. We were seated quickly. Cold plates were ideal meal for hot summer day.
While we dearly miss Village Marina, Lucky Hare Brewing Bar and Grill has exceeded all expectations. Not only is the food and drink top-notch, and the atmosphere still buzzing with good vibes, but the owners and every who works there are truly exceptional and willing to go the extra mile. They did not just open a bar & grill, they embedded into a community and we have opened our hearts (and mouths) to them! We truly are "Lucky" to have Lucky Hare plant roots in the Village of Watkins Glen, and if you stop in there to grab a drink or a bite to eat, you'll feel pretty dang "Lucky" too!
Sat on the deck for lunch on a cool breezy day. He had a burger that was great, and I had chicken wings. We had poutine fries and sweet potato fries, both were delicious, as were the fresh made chips. He had a German style beer he really liked. Great view, good service, good food!
Fantastic visit today coming upon this lovely waterfront IPA brew and eating spot. Special today the fresh Maine Lobster roll, corn cob and cole slaw. Also had some wrap sands, boom boom shrimp wrap and the tarragon chicken/craisin and red onion Wrap with lightly fried sweet potato fries. VERY large portions! Incredibly fresh absolutely delicious. In fact, my apologies I didn’t think to take pictures beforehand lol. Our extreme compliments to the chefs Cassie and Trey and all the outside deck servers, Willow Lilly and Jess all working together and killin it with how busy this place was, you all need roller skates LOL. Visiting from Fl but do hope another visit here will be in our future because your too far to order Uber Eats ha! Thanks again

The garlic parm wings were great. Hot honey pepperoni pizza was delicious. I had the Falcon Lunch IPA. Highly recommended. I even left with a Lucky Hare Brewing Sweatshirt. It was a fun atmosphere for all ages. I can tell that it would be a great place to visit in the spring and summer months when you are able to sit outside.

The food was GREAT! We got the bruschetta chicken sandwich and Cajun catfish. Delicious! And the staff were so friendly and nice. We went on a Saturday night with our baby and they were so considerate. The band was a bit loud for an indoor venue, but they even asked if they were too loud for us since we had our baby there. We ended up taking our food to go but the fact that they even asked was sweet. A nice spot with a beautiful view of the lake.
Went in Saturday evening for beers and stayed for dinner. Fish fry and burgers were very good…Mac and cheese was good and large portion. Of course, their beers are good and mainly why we went. There was live music…a little loud but not as loud as the table next to us! Two couples and the women were loud and louder! A woman sitting nearby said something to them, then a server did and they purposely began shouting louder and louder. The servers continued to behave patiently and professionally and finally the owner went over and told them they were in a restaurant!! They left soon after and we all clapped after they left. The main reason in mentioning this is because even through this nonsense, the service was still friendly and the staff didn’t miss a beat! How the employees kept their cool is beyond me!! Nicely done!
I honestly just walked into the wrong Lucky Hare and didn't eat anything but the hostess was kind enough to help me try to find my friends and realize I was at the wrong one. My friends at the other one said the food was amazing.
We stopped here for a quick lunch after hiking in the state park. The view from the outdoor patio area was worth the stop, but the rest of the restaurant was a bit lacking. It sounds like this restaurant is under new ownership and dealing with some staffing issues, so we understood that the service would be a bit slow. Overall, it was a nice stop for some nice views and good beer.
Very casual atmosphere, seating inside or by the dock. We had great table for 4 outside. Live music PA Line, was nice on Friday night. Waitress seemed overwhelmed, some mix up with our good order. I had grilled cheese with tomato pesto, which was tasty. Overall enjoyed the company, atmosphere & sunset!

So nice to have off to the side dog friendly picnic tables. But I think the affected quality of service. Service wad polite and friendly but I think we were an after thought. Our food must have sat under a warming lamp as it was "just warm" ..melted cheese solidify and fries soggy. The taste was good, just not quality presentation. Drinks were well chilled and reasonable. We sat towards the side as our dog likes his space. We were told we'd be served there, no problem. We watched others seat well after us, order and be served promptly. Perhaps clearer guidelines for service in that side area could be posted? We are grateful for pet friendly place but it's also nice to feel welcomed
The food is really good. The atmosphere is really nice. The service was absolute garbage. I sat there after we ordered never once was asked if we wanted another drink never once was checked up on to see how we were doing sat there forever waiting for our waitress to come back to cash us out. Never happened. I ended up getting up going to the bar and asking them to cash me out and when I originally talk to my waitress, I asked for a split check and then I go to the bar and they tell me they can’t do split checks. I will not be coming back. I was not impressed at all.
I have been here twice with my family and both times my experience has been mediocre to poor. Location is great and parking was plentiful. I appreciate it being right on Seneca Lake. I've also had their beer from their main location up on the lake and it was good. But the food and service was awful. The chicken on my Caesar salad was extremely dry (although the dressing was good) and the lettuce was old.. My son's waffles tasted like they were frozen because they were so dry. The syrup was provided in small to-go packets. For $18, it was cheap. But the worst part was the service. The restaurant was not at capacity (outside was 70% full and inside was practically empty) yet the service was soooo slowwww. It also took about 25-30 minutes for the food to come out so if you have kids, this might not be the best place for you.
First of all, this restaurant has a fly infestation. Indoors, outdoors, the restroom, everywhere. I have never seen so many in one place. The menu is inaccurate and has several items unavailable. The person I was with wanted a “french fry upgrade”, and was told it was $2 extra. I asked for the same, and was told it was $4 extra. Why the price difference? The food (haddock sandwich and cheeseburger) was very greasy and bland/unseasoned. The server didn’t check in on us and we had to ask another server for the check after a long wait.
To be greeted with 'We have a policy of requiring you provide us your credit card before ordering' was not a welcoming start. The fact it is one of only a couple places next to the lake was by far the high point of the experience. The food was served in baskets, some drinks in plastic. If it were priced like a fast food restaurant, it would be understandable. But the prices were high for the quality, quantity and presentation of the food and the curt service. Considering half the tables were empty at 1pm on a beautiful Thursday in June, others must have had a similar take on the place. We won't be returning.
Came here to order take out for dinner. Totally understandable for services as the waitress stated they are short staffs from the kitchen. We ordered two house burger, cooked medium with mushrooms and a salmon salad with arugula, tomato, cucumber, romaine. I have never had smoked salmon belly tips that is fried again with salad. Believe me, don’t bother ordering it, it is not worth it, also it was missing arugula too. But on positive note, the buffalo wing was made correctly! Fried to just right with mild buffalo sauce. Burgers were cooked inconsistently, one burger was overly salted and other was lack of taste on the patty. So that sums it up.
It was okay, I guess. Got seated right away for brunch. On water, plenty of seating. The food is overpriced for what you get, for example the House Burger with bacon and fries will set you back $25. Forks will take you back to simpler times in elementary school, easy to bend in to fun shapes while trying to use. Sad waffles, so sad. But the chicken on them was good. Monte Cristo was satisfactory. First stop in the area.
We came for dinner and we're excited to have a nice meal on the water. When we were seated we were told they were out of chips (which come with the meal )and one of the salads. Unfortunately, we were informed that there were no substitutions for the same price so we would have no side at all. It doesn't make sense to charge us for the chips without providing a side alternative. The poor customer service made this a very disappointing experience. I left two stars instead of one because the view is really nice.

This place should stick to being a brewery. Food was a bit pricey for sandwiches that comes with chips. If you want fries, that was an additional upcharge. The burger came with 2 patties cooked differently. One was medium rare, the other was well done so I ate around the edges and left most of the burger. Catfish sandwich was a thin breaded cutlet with a sprinkle of seasoning. The only thing that we enjoyed was the sweet potato fries. 2 sandwiches, no beverage came to $50. We won't be going back.
Food was straight trash, terrible portions sizes, traveled 1 1/2 hours to be greeted by a group of people talking very loud. The steak sandwich was almost fully cooked, they never asked how I wanted it cooked, they burnt the grill cheese, it was very disappointing, the only nice thing was the view of the lake, dont recommend to anyone, service was very slow, and they pour you water and spill it on your table. And when they check on you and ask for a sauce they dont grab it for 15 minutes or more, we had our food served before our silverware. I hope this helps if you ever come here
Wait staff was rude. My wife put our name in for list to be seated. I went back in 15-20 minutes later to see if we could get drinks from the bar. All the the staff simply ignored me and my friend. We then just left. Another customer said the bar tender was rude to him. I guess they had enough business they didn't care how they treated people.
