Rumba Cubana - Guttenberg

I recently attended a private event at Rumba Cubana in New Jersey, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a VIP - especially with the “Private Event Only” signage that made the evening feel exclusive. The restaurant is vibrant and beautifully decorated with nods to Cuban culture everywhere you look - from the “From La Habana” neon signs to classic car murals and cigar displays. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. The view of the New York City skyline from the dining area is simply breathtaking and adds something magical to the entire experience. It’s the perfect backdrop for a special evening. The food? Absolutely delicious! The plate I had was bursting with flavor - perfectly cooked plantains, tender steak, savory seafood, and fluffy rice. A beautiful and satisfying mix of Cuban comfort food. They also have an impressive wine selection and a lively bar area that completes the upscale yet welcoming vibe. Parking can be a challenge in the area, but they’ve got that covered with valet service, which made things easy and stress-free. And if you’re planning a celebration, their private event space is perfect - an entire floor just for your party, easily accommodating 50 guests with style and comfort. Highly recommend for date nights, gatherings, or just an authentic Cuban meal with a view. ¡Gracias, Rumba Cubana!

In one word, Amazing! On May 12th of 2025, my mother and I stopped by this Rumba Cubana location right after her medical appointment near Gutenberg. The Cuban Food options are mouth-watering full of joy and the venue looks stunning. I remembered ordering white rice, black beans, tostones, salmon with mango sauce, and lemonade, and in the end, I finished with a cup of coffee. My mother had her food. We loved every second of this place and it was our first time there. My mother enjoyed her time there! Everything from customer service to the quality of the food was a complete joy and pleasant. The dining experience was well worth our trip and time there. I’m looking forward to going back to this place again! Great Job to the employees there, they represent Rumba Cubana in a fine manner and with an excellent reputation. Great for them!

Returning again and again for great service, atmosphere and amazing food! Valet parking but limited. The wait staffs are attentive, wonderful energy n atmosphere, food was out of this world! My favorite and go to is Mofongo Camarones (Shrimp plantains). We’ve ordered the El Rumberoto with Lechon for appetizers. Churrasco Rumbero (skirt steak), lechon Asado(marinated pork) with their rice and black beans.

I absolutely love this place!! The food was delicious. The drinks were refreshing! Must try the mango caipirinha! Yummy! The bathroom was picture worthy, not much parking, but there is valet parking underneath the restaurant. The view of the city is magnificent 👌. The kitchen manager came to check on us and our experiences! I adore this place. Highly recommend the W. New York, NJ Cuban heaven.

Awesome place. Gorgeous decoration, with enchanting views of New York City skyline, live spanish music and staff is super friendly. Menu had awesome options that made it hard to decide what to order. Staff was super friendly, helpful and fun, they made us laugh and laughed with us. Dessert was also great. Prices are great, I was even worried about portions when I saw the low prices, but portions are big. Valet parking makes it easy for customers. Restaurant is on second floor, there’s a small sized lobby on the first floor, great for waiting if there’s a waiting time, I didn’t see an elevator but they might have one in the back for wheelchairs, but call to confirm. They have a lounge on the third floor, great space for events or larger groups.

Never fails this restaurant is must. I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years is my favorite restaurant. Mojitos are so good! Staff is amazing very consistent the manager Roberto is very aware of the business. He is one of the reason I keep coming back.

My top place to go for good food and drinks! Have been coming for years! Never disappointed! Great place for celebration as well.

First time in this restaurant, Francisco Farco was our server, he is just phenomal, the food amaizing the atmosphere wonderful, the prices really good for the amount of food and the quality, overwall great experience, highly recommend

A 10 out of a 10…the VERY BEST SERVICE AND DELICIOUS CUBAN FOOD right next to the Hudson River and only minutes from Manhattan with the BEST VIEW OF MANHATTAN…a place you have to visit time and time to have the best Cuban food in a family great atmosphere…COME, you won’t regret it😊

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would… Delicious food! The cozy space and beautiful view, a very good atmosphere, the extraordinary service, our waiter Kevin, was spectacular in his attention. Definitely a place I will return to.

We had guacamole, plantain and aioli, churrasco, and breaded bistec which all came out great, including flan and coffee for dessert. For cocktails, we kept it traditional with mule, cuba libre, sangria and mojito.

First time visiting this place, my coworkers took me here for my birthday and I had an amazing time! The food was delicious, the drinks were on point and the music was great! I will definitely come back many, many more times! 🤗

Rumba Cubana never disappoints. This one has a beautiful view of the Hudson River. The staff is great. They serve water when you’re seated. They are also friendly. I came with a group of like 20. Everybody’s order came out well and in a reasonable time. The food was delicious. I ordered the chicharrones de pollo (boneless fried chicken bites) with arroz moro (dark rice) with two fried eggs on top. It was amazing. The have a variety of drinks and desserts. The place is super clean. My wife had the fried fish bites.

True Cuban food. In my opinion only a few true Cuban places left in Hudson County. Some other Latin related are a mixture of Caribbean, Central and South American countries.

Cuban spot serving up some heat. Def stop by if in the mood for Cuban. Their churros for dessert are also great!

My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose Rumba Cubana for Guttenberg, our 99th town. Atmosphere was great with everyone enjoying a summer night out on the outdoor patio with live music and great views of NYC across the river. Order a jarra de sangria and get the ceviche. The vaca frita is the bomb! Service was great and very friendly staff.

Fantastic views of NYC. Prices were great. Everything we tried was good. We had the seafood paella, chichiron (deep fried pork). Ceviche with shrimp.

Fun! Loud! Boisterous! Great food and staff! Nice views. Separate bar upstairs. Authentic Cuban food and desserts. Great drinks and coffee/espresso as well. Very cool decor! Can't wait to return when in town again!

I went to Rumba Cubana Guttengerg yesterday for my mom's birthday. Our waiter was very accomodating, friendly and professional. We had an assortment of diahes. All good. My thing is the place was packed and hectic with students graduation and their families arriving in masses. You could see the place gradually getting more and more crowdy amd yet the staff kept pushing food out amd taking orders. We spent several hours in there but it was enjoybale and fun to watch and be part of the celebrations. The staff was gracious and hard as well as smart working! Again, we had so much food yet the prices were decent and the drinks prices were equally decent. I will highly recomend the Papamaya made with Patron White and natural papaya puree. The best amd healthiest cocktail I've had in a while! In addition, the Rumba Cubana in Guttennerg has valet parking which is extremely convenient because althought street parking is available more often than not at peak hours parkin is not easy. People are friendly and they go there to eat and drink. I will come back and have been for a number of years even if this is my first review I've been a customer for over a decade and Rumba Cubana in Guttengber gets better with time. See you'll there!

This is my second time visiting. The food is still amazing. Today I ordered for appetizer fried plantain with picadillo and melted cheese. I also ordered the lunch special, pork roast with onion and black beans and rice. Everything was beyond delicious. Portions are generous, and prices are very inexpensive. They haven't changed much since I last visited 3 years ago! Service was great, very friendly. Everything was so great I even got a few things to go.

If you research on Google maps top Cuban restaurants in NJ this restaurant will pop up! They have a couple of location but I’ve only come to this one. I decided to choose this location because of the view of the NYC skyline and the great reviews. I fell in love with this restaurant that my friends and I always come up here if we want really good Cuban food at a great price! Sadly Queens locations in NY can be a bit overpriced. This restaurant has valet, great customer service, a creative and funky Cuban decor, great Hispanic music playing the entire time and even has a little bar/lounge that you can hangout in! I love their food!! So fulfilling and their drinks are really tasty. I recently went in December and saw that they renovated their bathrooms! So pretty! I always look forward to coming here. You won’t ever be disappointed and just incase you ever are, I’m sure their staff will do whatever they can to have you leaving satisfied and happy!

The Rumba Cubana in Guttenberg is hands down one of the best restaurants around here. The staff, the atmosphere, the food absolutely great! The best bartenders to serve you not only drinks but a good ear to hear you chat always working to there full potential! The top 2 best managers in Guttenberg Roberto & Lenier. Very welcoming, not only just managers they do everything they could do in their power to keep this restaurant going, amazing people to be around. If theirs anywhere you should go to have a full 5 star meal and a spectacular time it should be Rumba Cubana in Guttenberg. Very satisfied customer.

Delicious food with great service! We met friends for dinner and had a wonderful time. The Cuban Fried rice was perfect, enough to share, as was the rest of our dinner. Will definitely return next time we visit NJ.

Good Cuban food 👍 first time experiencing Cuban food in person - great atmosphere, and lively place 👏. The only challenge was communication with the staff. But that's alright 😊 we managed to communicate and order our food 😀. Beautiful view of skyline from the restaurant ❤️.

The restaurant provides a lively atmosphere and offers reasonably priced, delicious Cuban cuisine. While there is room for improvement with the servers, the overall level of service was attentive. The restaurant offers a partial view of NYC and has balcony seating. We particularly enjoyed the empanadas, with the picadillo being our standout favorite, although the pollo was dry. The chicharroncitos de puerco were satisfactory, however, we also found some bits of it rather dry. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the bistec de palomilla, which was exceptionally tender and flavorful. Additionally, we found the Cuban sandwich to be delightful, and the fries were executed well.

Came here for dinner didn’t have reservations because they don’t allow you to make any although we needed a table for 8. We were seated within 15 minutes on a Saturday night which was good thankfully. Food came out quickly tasted great and the drinks were strong and good. Overall great time and good for family’s. They offer a lounge upstairs and it was decent size and had good music playing you could enjoy some dancing after dinner all in one place.

The dishes were amazing, and I had a good time celebrating my husband's birthday. However, the service was okay since it was busy on a weeknight.

Great place to gather family and friends. Food, drinks and service are superb. A little bit of noice at times but overall good for anyone who loves carries food.

I usually order take out from rumba in Clifton, but decided to try this location in person and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s located on the second floor. It’s a nice open space with lots of natural light coming from the large windows. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating seems limited as it’s on a small balcony/terrace. The service is fast and friendly. The food was flavorful and plated nicely. I ordered the vaca frita as it’s my usual go to dish, and it was very tasty.

Beautifullocation. Great staff(Service). Food was good. The appetizer platter was very good. I had shrimp scampi with fried Yucca. Most of my party had churassco. We all enjoyed the meal. Very, very good asmesphere.

Good service, good food, fair prices. Tostones were rubbery and tasteless. I think it's fair to expect fresh crisp Tostones! If I can do better at home why eat out? I mean if you can't make Tostones right it indicated a lack of caring. Having said that over all it was good.

I’ve been here a handful of times, so I can say with certainty that my experience here has been… mixed. The food is undeniably delicious. They have a large menu, the pricing is fair, and the food is always amazing. The service; however, is consistently terrible. The waiters will not come to your table unless you have them down, and they lack even the most basic manners (thank you, you’re welcome, etc.). Service can make or break a dining experience, and I haven’t had one good experience with the service here. On the plus side, the food is so good, i come back regularly anyway. Also, this place is LOUD. If you’re not a fan of booming music, screaming kids, and servers that act like they hate you, you’d probably be better off going somewhere else. Food is a 10/10 though.

I used to run to this restaurant with my coworkers after work prior to covid and I would enjoy every bite on my plate. The food used to be great but now the food and the Chef has loss its seasoning. The presentation of the food was quite grand! Service was ok the server kind of left us hanging for another family. Price was affordable but I will not be returning.
