Our first visit here and we loved it. Service, ambience and food excellent and we are very difficult to please!!! Goes to my number 1 slot this year Well done guys and thankyou so much ❤️

Amazing Food and Drink. Booked in very last minute. Drinks were a little slow coming, but it was Xmas time so bound to be expected. As everyone is in the mood. Great Fire Display during the meal. Very welcoming staff.

We came here for a friends birthday day dinner and Masum was our server he was very good and helpful. On the other hand the food took long to come but apart from it the atmosphere and food was good. I got the Opium noodles it was i recommend.

Took quite a while to get our food but when it did arrive it tasted really good! I would have to say shay being my waitress for the evening made the experience a hundred times better, she really is amazing at her job :))

This restaurant had great service and food including music. The two waitresses that served us were very friendly including Hamna.

Amazing restaurant, the best glaze salmon I ever ate, the staff is very friendly and attentive, nice music and atmosphere. I definitely visit and eat again that salmon and try others dishes.

We visited for our anniversary meal and didn’t really know what to expect. The service was fantastic and the food was full of flavour. We would definitely recommend and have booked to go back.

Dined at Opium in Northampton on Sunday and it was honestly outstanding from start to finish. The service was genuinely exceptional…warm, attentive, and thoughtful in a way you rarely experience. Every member of staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel incredibly well looked after. The restaurant is beautiful and spotless, the food quality was exceptional for the price, with very generous portions and drinks. Every detail felt considered, from complimentary warm bread to warm hand wipes at the end, and even splitting the bill was handled effortlessly. This was an incredible dining experience and easily one of the best restaurant visits I’ve had. Highly recommended… I will absolutely be returning.

It was our first time eating at Opium, and we will definitely be returning! From the food to the service, everything was outstanding. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a very long time!

We were a table of 15 and received lovely service from Cheyenne. She was so friendly and accommodating! The table loved the food and the violinist who played contemporary songs was amazing/stunning! Highly recommend if your looking for somewhere new to eat out :)

Alina welcomed us first thing as we walked in. She walked us to our table with such enthusiasm making us feel very comfortable. We have been waiting for 30 minutes before someone took our order (I must specify I asked someone to take our order as I was frustrated to wait) (also worth mentioning, I came here a few times before and this never happened so I am thinking this was because of Valentine’s Day) I ordered a T-bone steak, the steak was cooked PERFECTLY and HUGE. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of fries which unfortunately I did not receive (they gave me fries). But the food made up for any inconvenience. Highly recommended. If I was to choose the best employee here, I would say Alina was the greatest.

We had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere felt really welcoming and comfortable. I also want to give a big shout-out to Fahim for his amazing customer service. He was so friendly, attentive, and genuinely made sure we had everything we needed. Good food although pricey especially the starters vs their portions. Service could have been faster - took about an hour for food to arrive. Food was tasty. Mains were of good portions. Lamb chops were great. Beef short rib wax also tasty. Staff were friendly. Music was loud, could do with more subdued classy music.

It was our first experience. The food and service were nice, especially serving main courses. The staff were friendly and attentive, sometimes too attentive), a few times they came up to us too often to ask us how we are). I would say that the price is a bit high. The atmosphere is nice, the look is luxury but it wasn't really cozy. The toilet was not really clean, the plain black color everywhere makes them sullen and not nice. The pre book is prefe, after 6pm it was too busy. No parking around, need to find a parking space near by.

Look, this place is stunning. The decor is wow - significantly better than when it was Yakut Lounge. The staff were inviting and super friendly, who also provided us with excellent service. For starters we ordered the chicken tikka bao buns. They looked very nice, however, if I’m completely honest they tasted like nothing. I was expecting a soft and fluffy (as bao buns should be) - these were hard and more like pitta bread. Quite disappointing given the price. For mains we ordered the Sirloin with their signature sauces. We swapped the regular fries with truffle fries and spinach. I liked the steak, however, value wise; again it wasn’t worth it. Overall, Opium is very well presented, one of the nicest looking places in Northampton, however prices on the menu don’t align to the quality of food you’d expect.

Fantastic decor and atmosphere. The service was great and the servers worked so hard despite appearing understaffed on a busy Friday night. The octopus was incredible. Waited over 30 minutes for cocktails. The scallops were lukewarm and under seasoned. The portions were too small for the high price. The dry ice was so cool to watch.

The atmosphere was very elegant, with lights and colors complimenting each other. The music should be a bit lower to avoid guests from shouting to speak to each other. The waiters were very polite and professional in the manner of providing the service. There is a need for the staffs to be more of customer who needs to be served.

Myself and two friends came here on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. The service was dreadful, the man who greeted us and took our order looked stressed and didn’t smile once, there seemed to be a lot of big groups in this evening and I don’t think they had enough waiting staff to cope. our food seemed to take ages to arrive and when it did my lamb shish was cold ! Nobody came to ask if anything was ok and didn’t even get a chance to order more drinks. It was a very disappointing experience and feel if you’re going to charge those prices for the food at least make sure it is served hot. The restaurant itself is an instagram’s dream iis just unfortunate the food and service doesn’t match.

The starters and drinks were BEAUTIFUL, but that was it for the food. My chicken parmesan was overcooked, and the pasta with it had a dirt-like taste. The bad type of earthy. There was a dry ice thing, and it was lovely. What was interesting is that the actual building looks gourmet style. Fit for Ramsay and Oliver. Definetely would not come here again though. The average score for the table was a 4.7/10.

Came for food the waiter had quite an attitude for no reason when came to ask for what drinks we wanted and we said water. The best part of the meal was the complementary bread which was lovely. The food lamb shank was quite disappointing the mashed potato was cold and tasted very weird. I was given a new meal however still the mash had a very strange taste. Half way through our meal they brought out smoke to showcase the food however we were half way through our food at the time. Lovely interior however food quality in our opinion was not so great quite over priced for what the taste of the food is.

The food was excellent, the service throughout the meal was good, and the atmosphere was lovely — it made for a really nice Valentine’s evening. However, at the end of the meal a £12 service charge was already added to our £152 bill. We paid £160, and the waitress wished us a happy Valentine’s and walked away without asking if we wanted change. We waited around 30 minutes, but it was never brought back. It wasn’t about the £8, but assuming we didn’t want the change felt unprofessional and left a slightly disappointing final impression.

Service has dived in the last 2 months since we last came here for our anniversary. Or perhaps it was just the service on the upper floor? This was a valentines dinner and so one could argue it was busy, but the amount of time the waitresses were chatting at the bar our aimlessly walking around would contradict that. In stark comparison to our visit 2 months ago it took 30mins+ and my chasing for us to finally receive 1of2 drinks with the other to follow (by contrast we had received our drinks within 10mins on the last visit). I then had to chase our food after almost an hour of waiting (no complimentary appetisers/nibbles were offered like before) during the hour wait for food the waitress who took our order walked by our table several times and despite sitting with an empty table, didn’t acknowledge we was waiting or had the proactive thought to ask if we are ok or to chase our order. To add insult, after I had chased for our meal the said waitress then came to our table 2mins after offering desserts!? After over an hour we finally got our meal (in contrast we received this within 25mins on our last visit). At the very least, following the poor service you’d think there would be an apology in the form of free drink or dessert but nothing. The entertainment and general atmosphere of the place was amazing! We loved the violinist! But was ultimately left feeling frustrated and stressed by the clear avoidance of service on the upper floor.

Absolutely won't be going again. Looks great on Insta! Hats off to your marketing team. This isn't fine dining. It's cheap tack dressed up as it. Your manager is a bumbling fool who wonders around in a gaze, and the service was confused and painful. Four times someone came to our table with either the wrong food or drinks. Only problem was getting the right order! We were there just over an hour before your waitress presented the bill and asked us to check it because there will be mistakes. Five items and £60 came back off our bill. My wife had the chicken and I had the T bone. I will say the main courses were very nice..... the starters are again over priced and basic. When offering fine dining and opulence, the service is actually more important for the experience. Your staff need training more. Unfortunately I don't see this place lasting that long, it will be somewhere people visit once and not again.

We came on valentine’s day, was expecting a wait. we were sat straight away, ordered food and drinks within first 10 minutes of being sat. waited over an hour for our food to come whilst the table next to us were sat after us and had their starters and mains before our mains arrived. Music was way too loud and couldn’t hear each other. Other people complained about it too. Unfortunate because the place itself looks really nice but it’s a shame that everything above had to let it down. Do not recommend, and probably will not be coming back, valentine’s day ruined.

Absolutely unacceptable. The steak was served raw, not edible and clearly cooked by someone who has no idea how to handle meat. As if that wasn’t bad enough, when dessert arrived, the staff asked if we needed spoons. That question alone says everything about the level of service here. Zero professionalism, zero attention to customers. A complete waste of money. Avoid this place.

It was my first time coming here. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this experience disappointed me. We were 8 people at the table, and first of all I want to mention that the waiters were very unprofessional. The service was poor, the food was brought out at different times, and the drinks were also served separately and handled by hand instead of being carried on a tray. It’s a shame, as the restaurant itself is very beautiful and elegant.
