Another great experience here !! Will (guy on the pass) was quick to sort a little mishap with our order and ensured we were kept happy for the rest of the evening! As fellow hospitality workers, we were happy to see great attentiveness in other restaurants around Leeds! Thanks to the team :)
INSPIRED BY THE LADIES MARKET IN HONG KONG 🥢🇨🇳 I loved my experience at mans market! It's such a fun and engaging restaurant – the "I'm thirsty", “Feed Me” & “ I want to go” menu’s are such a clever touch. The food was incredible, and the service was top-tier 🤩 If you're in Leeds, this place near the train station is a must-try!
Unbelievable food and drink. We went for the bottomless brunch before heading to a gig. I upgraded to have cocktails included. The service was extremely fast so it ended up being really good value for money considering how many drinks we had between us. Would highly recommend the Last Emperor cocktail if you enjoy an Ameretto sour! Really enjoyed the mixed starter which came with a great selection of warm dips and plenty prawn crackers! I’m sure we’ll be back in the new year!
My friend found this place looking for halal options in Leeds as my other friend is Muslim and we’re tired of eating at the same places all the time. Let me tell you, this could well be one of the best restaurant experience I’ve had in years. The staff go well out of their way to provide the best customer service, and the quality of food is immaculate. For such an affordable price too! I also think it’s really cool how to order your food, drinks and how to pay the bill. The restaurant itself is really chic too! Will definitely be back. It’s also impressive how many options of different foods they have for specific dietary requirements.
Starters and chips were great and good portion sizes. The Chinese curry wasn't to out liking, found it needed more flavour. Ordering method was fun and efficient whereby you write down the numbers of the dishes and put them on a peg above your table.
Will was our server and he was great! My girlfriend has been having a roughand it’s been a hard time with everything going on. So today we decided to have a break from it all and just go on a date. Will was brilliant and gave us great recommendations and was very friendly. He made our night. The food was so good as well. Thanks will
Went in for the first time today with my girlfriend, and had a genuinely lovely experience. We turned up as a walk in and were sat very promptly, and my dietary requirements, needing to be gluten and sesame free, were catered to in the most professional, pleasant and comfortable way. The waitress serving us, Mahek, personally went and found out which dishes I could order, marked it down on the menu for us, and explained the whole process to us. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. We were big fans of the salt and pepper chicken. I’d highly recommend this place to everybody I know, especially people that have specific allergies and dietary requirements. We were made to feel safe in our ordering, and welcomed by the staff. 10/10
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Review Thankyou yaz 😃😃 We had such a lovely experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and everything came out beautifully — but the real standout of the night was our server, Yaz. Yaz was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of without ever hovering. They had great timing, great energy, and added such a personal touch to the whole evening. It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and warm, and Yaz absolutely nailed it. We left full and happy 😃
This place is amazing, we were served by Will and he was so lovely and helpful with all my weird vegetarian requests. Deffo recommend and such good value for money too!
We went for brunch on Saturday for a 30th birthday. The staff were fantastic, really attentive and made an extra effort to make it special for my friend’s birthday. The food was exceptional quality with really good portion sizes. Great atmosphere would highly recommend and will definitely be going back!
First time here advised by family. Amazing place and chloe was the star of the night. Amazing service always happy to help and so polite a credit to her workplace
Me and my partner went to Mansmarket for the bottomless brunch, our first time visiting and we loved it! We were there a bit early but the lovely staff particularly Alex and Chloe made us feel welcome and seated us straight away for drinks. We didnt once wait ages for more drinks and the food was also very delicious too! Will definitely be back next time we are in Leeds!
Grace, our server was ✌️Place is super chilled . Great place to catch up with a friend(s) or hideaway for a quick showdown.
Lovely meal out. Great service by Ella, lovely and friendly. Explained how it all worked. Only complaint was the food took a bit of time to come out but it's well worth the wait.
Had a wonderful catch up with a good friend in a chilled, relaxing environment. Loved the decor, staff were so welcoming and friendly. Food amazing and as we went for the bottomless brunch option, our drinks were always full.
The Gluten Free options were exceptionally good and the items chosen were well prepared and full of flavour. A great change from the often bland offerings of competitors. Our hostess Yaz was excellent taking time to explain the ordering process, which is driven by the guest. The individual drinks as opposed to cocktails were on the expensive side. We dined mid afternoon and were the only guests so the atmosphere was limited to the welcome background music.!
Went here for a bottomless brunch and the drinks system to request your next drink means youre never waiting for a refill. Our server was Lexi, who was so nice, friendly and really accommodating with our orders. Drinks service was RAPID, and the food was so much better than the normal brunch options you would get elsewhere.
Why have I never been here until now? Maybe because I don’t like Chinese food that much, but I came here as part of a group last night for a bottomless brunch to celebrate a birthday. Food was really delicious, the cocktails were all just bang on and it was nice that they were actually different, the atmosphere was great and the staff were fun and kind, very accommodating. We had a brilliant time, you’ve absolutely converted me. Planning to come back with my daughter who is cows milk free as I see most dishes are ok for her too! Thanks, 5/5.
Went yesterday for work xmas meal, from start to finish the bottomless brunch experience was amazing. Superd friendly and attentive service from all staff and the food was absolutely amazing (chilli beef is a must) Probably a bit noisier than normal due to all the xmas parties, but still brilliant and will definitely be returning
Great food, very calm place with lovely servers. Had the best panko fried tofu I’ve very had and an amazing chow mein. Our server was lovely and I’m said I can’t remember her name :( will be back!!
Benny was amazing couldn’t fault her. She speedily sorted my food intolerance and has been so attentive to us. The team at man’s market is lucky to have her!
Been here twice, their menu is utterly delicious! Their Gluten Free menu has such wide variety and everything is cooked to perfection, a Coeliac's dream for sure! The team are lovely and so friendly, even when we had a discrepancy on our bill, they quickly resolved the issue and lovely to deal with. Highly recommend for normal menu too! Husband cannot recommend the normal menu enough, even stating it his new favourite place in Leeds. We both highly recommend the cocktails too!
Overall a very good experience. I had chicken curry which I saw a few negative reviews about on here; mine included a lot of veg but there was a passable amount of chicken in there too and it was nice tasting. The side of chips were very good too. Mixed meat-based sharing starter was nice and very flavoursome. Niggles were: set menu online was advertised as £27.XX online but was charged £29.XX on the day. We knocked the service charge off the bill to compensate for that price difference. The service charge also wasn’t clearly mentioned on the menu either. It was a nice meal but we wouldn’t rush back as you can get a Chinese takeaway for half the price and I’m not convinced it is worth paying double to sit in a restaurant and then be charged service charge on top. It was pretty quiet in the restaurant on a Friday night, so perhaps others question the value for money too?
The food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. We followed the requested numbering system when ordering, but staff were confused, and we had to repeat the orders by name anyway. As a result, the process felt slower rather than more streamlined. Had our drinks arrived sooner, both before and during the meal, the overall pacing would've felt much smoother, but by the second round, the service delays were starting to become frustrating. Honestly, though, I’d probably still come back just for the Singapore rice alone. Just not on a busy Friday evening. 👌🤣
This oriental restaurant is tucked away near a few other trendy bars and have only known about it for a few years due to word of mouth, otherwise it’s quite easy to miss. The dynamic decorations along with authentic Chinese cuisine make it a great place for a pre-night out place to dine with a group. It’s also very unique in the ways your order and the staff are very helpful! The food was really tasty, although I don’t think the prices matched too fairly in my opinion. I would argue that some items are expensive and some are decently priced? But overall it’s quite hard to gauge and by the time the meal ends and you pay for the bill everything seems to have added up. I do recommend this place for the experience and enjoying the general vibe and decorum as it really shines and reflects an Eastern eatery, but I don’t find myself wanting to come back more than once a year. I only come here for special occasions and there’s usually other opinion that myself or family, friends and co-workers prefer. But highly recommend if you haven’t been before, you’ll enjoy what Man’s Market has to offer!
Food was lovely, and service was great. My egg fried rice was a bit undercooked, but the teriyaki pork bell was amazing. Loved the decor in the place, had a great vibe. Was pretty loud, but I suppose it was also quite busy (clearly popular).
We have been before in 2024. Was really good. But last week not so good. Sweet and sour sauce was really runny no taste. My partner had beef curry curry sauce watery and bland. My son and his girlfriend quite enjoyed their meal. But £168. Definitely a no this time. We were only visiting from Scotland.
Edit: Whilst I appreciate the response and understand it may have gotten busier later, that doesn't change how cramped the table was. You can stick as many chairs as you want around a table, 8 chairs if you really wanted to, but it doesn't change that it only comfortably fits 2 people. That aswell as the hygiene aspect of our jug of water and menus having to be placed on the floor and these same things being put back on the table for the next people. Good concept but terrible execution, the food was average, chow mein was really bland and the halloumi was rock hard. They sat 4 of us around a 2-seater table and as we'd ordered more than 1 dish each, we ran out of space pretty quickly so asked to move to a bigger table and was told "unfortunately we're all fully booked". Okay fair enough I would understand that but when we sat down the restaurant was pretty much empty and after we had finished, there were still atleast 6 tables empty in our area so I find it pretty hard to believe they were so fully booked they weren't able to push two tables together. Staff ended up telling us to put whatever is in our way on the floor which isn't very hygienic when the same menu stand is going back on the table for the next people who eat here. Overall the service was very disappointing, the most helpful member of staff they had was this lovely girl who was actually on a trial shift.
Went with 5 mates and got a spice bag - food was alright, everyone enjoyed their meals (although the curry sauce was like water, way too thin, it literally disappeared when we poured it over our food) but ultimately £7.85 as the cheapest pint is genuinely criminal and way above market rate, crazy. Also bill comes with a 10% service charge and you have to pay for prawn crackers lol - skip it and just get a Chinese delivered.
Worst meal I’ve had in a very very long time. Sent it back and my second choice was equally bad. Ordered the Singapore Flat Noodles. It contained very large RAW chunks of pepper, white onion and spring onion as seen in the photo. The prep chef has clearly lost the will to live, and then whichever chef blindly tossed whole veg into their wok needs to turn their brain on. The noodles were very very chewy, dry and had no sauce of any kind. There was some very subtle dry flavouring (perhaps white pepper, msg and a bit of wok hei) but overall bland and raw. No staff, including a manager, did a check back to my table in the first 30mins of me receiving my food. At this point I put my hand up like a school kid, showed them the abomination and politely asked to swap it, even for just a half portion or starter. I’ve worked in hospo, I hate doing this. With all faith in noodles gone yet being shepherded towards only rice and noodles by the waitress/manager, I chose the Char Siu Fried Rice. It was equally terrible. The photo shows just SOME of the yet more RAW white onion, so raw it should be served with a side of soil and garnished with a daffodil. Again, no flavour, no sauce; pale and bland. I asked for soy sauce and/or Lao Gan Ma (chinese crispy chilli). Fittingly, they gave me - ok, maybe this is nitpicking - Japanese sushi soy sauce and what tasted like Italian pizza style chilli oil. Alas, the hints of oregano and basil could not save my “chinese” rice. The Char Siu was dry and brown the whole way through so looked and felt like beef - rather than juicy white on the inside with the beautiful red charred coating. To add insult to injury, when I wanted to pay and run for the hills, they tried to sneak on £2 of service charge and charged me a £3.50 add-on for the char siu on my REPLACEMENT dish. Having worked as a private chef and lived in Asia, I was never expecting true authentic cuisine but a £13.50 car crash nonetheless; literally any chinese takeaway would be better.
We came here to celebrate our 5th anniversary and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the start, we were greeted with the woman at the next table being sick on herself — not the restaurant’s fault, but it was handled very poorly. We ordered drinks and starters which came fairly quickly, but then waited over an hour for our mains. To make matters worse, we watched the table next to us send back their food after being given the wrong dish, only for that exact meal to be brought to our table 20 minutes later! My partner had ordered a chicken chow mein but received something with shrimp in it that was incredibly spicy and completely wrong. When the correct dish eventually came out, it was tasteless and inedible. Several other tables were also sending food back, and the whole place felt chaotic and disorganised. When we finally got the bill (£97!), even one of the servers told us to remove the service charge, admitting our experience had been awful. Our anniversary was completely ruined — terrible food, slow service, and shocking organisation. Definitely would not recommend. (Please see attached 'chicken chow mein' that is not chicken it was shrimp!)
Visited 04.02.26 with family, unfortunately food was disappointing. I ordered spice bag salt and pepper chicken and chips, I only took 2 bites of popcorn chicken and was unable to have anymore. The dish was overloaded with salt. Informed the waiter who served us, I asked for the dish to be taken away and not to bother bringing out another one. When the bill came we were charged full price for the salt and pepper chicken and chips because apparently the chef had offered to make another one and we had refused. Well this is what the manager informed us when we questioned why the salt and pepper dish was on the bill. Furthermore, poor service by the manager, she refused to give her name and said she is the only manager here. My mum ordered loaded chips with BBQ pulled chicken, the chicken was stone cold and grey. Not a good first experience and would not return.
l would rate it Zero if there was an option. Two meals sent back, the food is horrible the worst meal l have ever had. Ordered BBQ pulled chicken supposed to be glazed in Chinese BBQ, it was not glazed moreover it was cold as if it had just been taken out of a fridge. Second dish was smothered, covered and saturated in salt, you could literally see salt sparkling on the onions, chips, chicken and the bowl. No effort put into food served and no presentation. The manager is very rude with a shocking attitude and was dismissive, charged for one of the returned meals. When l queried being charged, she stuck the card reader in my face and said "I'm not arguing with you just pay" To add to insult she added a service charge. They want me to pay for abysmal service, she eventually took that off as l wasn't going to pay for the appalling service. Then said its "optional" to pay. Inside the restaurant was empty, l can see why now. Also a table of two they seat four people on there's not enough space. They didn't clear starter dishes, poor standards, the menu was sticky. The manager definitely needs customer service training. Needless to say we won't ever be returning. Edited following response: Thanks for your defensive response Simon. Check your cameras there was no abuse or aggression on my part, Your duty manager was clearly the one with a shocking attitude putting the card reader in my face and demanding payment whilst the service charge was still on and forcing me to pay. She did not remove the meal that we returned from the bill and flatly refused, neither was she prepared to listen. Only removed the service charge after l contested and refused to pay it. That constitutes clear aggression and intimidation, your manager has a problem, and you clearly can't handle feedback. Furthermore, l wasn't paying by card. Even when the meals were returned she was sat on her laptop and saw both meals returned separately she walked passed me into the kitchen giving me a filthy look, as a manager it would be common courtesy and part of management duties to come, apologise for the meals that were of poor standard or at the very least ask us what our concerns about the food were !!! Bad management, no customer handling skills
(A review in response to a comment made from the owner on my original review made on the 10/01/26) Hi Simon, Thanks for your reply to my review. 1. First and most of all, I think it’s wrong and unsettling that you checked through cctv to prove what happened - I’ve worked in hospitality and retail previously of which we only ever use cctv in emergencies. 2. Disclosing information about our booking such as the name of the person I was with is unacceptable - simply “the person you were dining with” would have sufficed. 3. We did not request the service charge to be removed, we asked for student discount to be applied. I assume the waiter who changed this mustn’t have applied student discount and removed the service charge instead. 4. We did not eat all our food and if we had, that is no indication of whether the food was satisfactory or not. 5. Surely if your food is cooked to order then it should be hot on arrival to the table? Overall, I find your response unsettling and belittling, the fact is we felt our service was unsatisfactory. I’d have appreciated a simple apology rather the justification of using CCTV to determine our experience.
Compulsory service charge for tables over ten, even though they failed to seat our party together. Two tables of under ten but had to pay a £75 tip, no choice. If we had walked in as two groups of 8, as they seated us, no compulsory charge.....make it make sense!!! There are many places offering better quality food and drinks. Will not be going back.
We’d seen so much hype online but unfortunately didn’t get that experience. Came here for our 5 year anniversary tonight and left disappointed. The table we were put at was as big as a postage stamp so we struggled to fit all the shared plates (completely ditched our own individual ones to make room) - a bit confusing seeing as the main push seems to be the sharing platters / starters / tapas. Was half way through our meal when we had to remind them that our drinks hadn’t arrived - they said they were ‘busy but making them’ (it was only a sprite and a pint). Half of our sharer plate was not hot when it arrived. ‘Sticky’ Pork Belly bites were dry. The taste of the entire meal was generally underwhelming and bland, and some bits felt like they had been sat under a heat lamp for a while. It was also very loud - it felt more like a bar that you would maybe get tapas at rather than an actual restaurant. The host that seated us was pleasant but any staff we interacted with following that seemed really apathetic to our experience/service. When I asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill, the staff member obliged but did not seem happy about talking to us after. Overpriced for what you get - we got a sharing platter, two tapas, one main and one side to share between us and it was £82. Small portion for the side (chips), lacking in the salt and pepper flavour, and half of it was inedible overcooked potato scraps. We were in and out in 45 minutes, just eager to get out more than anything. We really did try to enjoy the experience but everything fell flat of expectations.
We attended on 30.01.26 for the mates dates which we wait over 1 hour 30 mins for our food. We was told that due to the deal we was on that’s why it was taking longer.when food finally arrived after we ordered at 7:23 and came at 8:57 it was cold and soggy. It took me less time to get home than it did for me to get my first round of drinks and I don’t live in Leeds.
We visited Man’s Market and spent just under £30 per person on the festive feast. The starters were quite nice, but the mains were very disappointing for the price. The mains were dry, had very little meat, and the salt and pepper potatoes appeared to be frozen ones that had then been stir fried, so were very tough . In an attempt not to wast money, we initially boxed the leftovers but ultimately discarded them once we were outside, as neither of us realistically wanted to eat them again. Service was polite, though I had to request a glass of water three times. For £60 total, we expected much better quality and freshness, especially as this was meant to be a treat for a special occasion. I am gutted about the experience, as I really wanted to enjoy man’s market. Unfortunately, we spent £60 and the experience did not live up to that price.
