I’ve admired the outside of this restaurant for years, but never stopped by while on vacation until today. Let me tell you, this place was amazing and my mom and I were so excited to finally give it a try and can’t wait to come back! We both wanted to treat ourselves to lobsters. She got the baked stuffed, and it was cooked perfectly. I got the boiled lobster, and it was delicious. The mashed potatoes on the side were tasty too! Both lobsters were cooked so well that the tails, our least favorite parts, were soft, easy to eat, and not chewy (which happens). Yum! Dessert was also good! It gets super busy here, and while I was a little bummed we were seated in the back overflow room even though we had reservations, it was ok. We will be back, hopefully with a seat in the cute front room.
Yarmouth house was a fantastic place to dine at. Very accommodating with my reservations and we were seated immediately after arriving. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Restaurant was very well decorated for Halloween.... loved it all. Food and drinks were delicious and arrived quickly. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for nice dinner out.
This place deserves the perfect 5 star review. The service was on point we had a 7pm reservation and we were sat within 5 minutes of walking in. They served us our drinks and bread while we looked over the menu. He got the strip steak and I got the Chicken al la Vodka. Both were absolutely delicious. That steak gave me dinner envy. It was perfect season and that great beef taste was not covered by seasoning. It didn't need steak sauce or anything. The atmosphere was spectacular. It was not too dark, so you still had the ability to read a menu. They had a live saxophonist, Hollywood Hayward, he was awesome. He played the right songs for the atmospher and it was not loud at all. I don't give 5 stars unless it is deserved and this place did. We later found out it was voted best restaurant in the 2025 Cape Cod Times best of. So we chose wisely.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant, and the Christmas decorations are absolutely stunning! Reading through the comments I saw someone complained about a staff member asking for a review, and as I’ve worked in the industry for a long time, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. It’s actually commendable when staff ask for feedback when they realize that you really enjoyed the food served, especially during slower periods like winter, as it shows they care about their workplace and want to support it. The request itself isn’t the issue; rather, it’s a reflection of our own empathy towards those just starting out - we’ve all been there! I believe that perhaps the waitress is learning and genuinely trying to gauge satisfaction and improve; after all, nobody asks for feedback unless they’ve put in effort. Good luck to her!
I have loved this location for years. Every time I visit the cape I typically have to make a stop for the service, decor, menu options, rotating specials, house moscato, margaritas, lobsters and prime rib. You can check them out to see on select days they do have a three course meal if you are seated by 5:45, which is absolutely worth it, but I do go whether I am ordering that deal or not. I can’t recommend them enough! Also, the scallop Gorgonzola special was incredible!
Fantastic meal at Yarmouth House! The salad was crisp and full of fresh, local ingredients, and the oysters were shucked perfectly. Great service and cozy Cape Cod atmosphere can’t wait to go back!
This place is never a disappointment. We don't come here often so when we do its a treat! You can always expect the same great service and excellent food. Consistency is key and will always continue to bring us back whenever we're down that way. I had the stuffed mushrooms and halibut special. My husband had the chicken parmesan. You can't go wrong with whatever you order off the menu. Love how it's also a family owned business! Just wish they had the coconut cream so I could've ordered my painkiller cocktail😆
I recently signed at Yarmouth House with a group of 5. We all agreed the drinks were yummy, food was delicious and the service was great! There was live music and the vibe was so wonderful that two members of my party went back a few nights later and had drinks and apps at the bar.
I visited the Yarmouth House while on a business trip trip. I have been there before for family vacations. The food is top notch. The service was outstanding. The servers make it personal with every one of their customers. We were welcomed as soon as we entered the building and were seated right away. Everything was timed just right. They didn’t take forever with the food and they didn’t make you feeler hurried either. Many more visits to come.
The food was incredible. Got the 10 oz prime rib it felt like it was 20oz. Mashed potatoes were Heavenly. Fried calamari were perfect. Lobster bisque was the creamiest I've ever had. Jumbo shrimp was next level!
A dinner to remember. The Yarmouth House takes each course and goes above and beyond. The dipping oil and warm bread, the oil features crushed garlic, oh so delicious. We decided to try the Mediterranean trio of dips which showcased three completely different flavors and textures, along with seasoned pita bread and fresh cut veggies. It’s enough to feed 4 or more, there was no way we could finish it. Our entrees came next, Baked Stuffed Haddock & Jumbo Shrimp Scampi. The entrees are normal sized but still hard to finish, they have the perfect blend of seasonings, cooked to perfection. The ambiance was very relaxing. I especially enjoyed the staff, every person we interacted with was so very kind, professional and attentive. What a great way to start our vacation. We highly recommend you try the Yarmouth House if you are looking for more than just your average dinner, you will not be disappointed.
The food here is amazing. We had the prime rib and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken Parmesan was delicious. The pasta and sauce were on point. Recommend 100%. Our waitress was just amazing. Super friendly and professional. She checked on us repetitive and brought anything we needed.
We visited Massachusetts and chose Yarmouth House for our first night out—it was an excellent choice! The Halloween decor and atmosphere immediately impressed us and set the perfect mood. Our waiter, an older gentleman whose name I sadly can’t recall, was absolutely fabulous. He took the time to go over the menu in great detail, which was incredibly helpful since we were from out of town. At one point, he accidentally spilled some of my cocktail, but without hesitation, he went to the bar and brought back a fresh glass. His service was impeccable, and the meal was equally delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. Highly recommend!
Had a great experience here. Atmosphere and service is excellent. Had the sunset 3 course meal for $26. I had clam chowder as my starter, chicken Parmesan as main, and cheesecake for dessert. All of the food was delicious and prepared well. Definitely recommend!!
We enjoyed our recent visit to the Yarmouth House. The food was fantastic and our server Mary was the best. We will be back! 7/2025: We came back to Yarmouth House again this year. Another wonderful visit with amazing food!
The oil and bread they serve complimentary is fantastic . The Brussels , cesear salad , filet , and rigatoni vodka were great ! Server was very nice as well !
You definitely need a reservation. I went on Greek night, which gives you a second menu to choose from. I got a dip sampler from the Greek menu and fish and chips from their regular menu. Let me tell you, the waitress warned me the dip sampler was going to be large, but I didn't think it was going to be that large. It was great. The fish and chips were some of the best I ever had. Im definitely coming back.
Annual pilgrimage to the Cape with always having dinner at the Yarmouth House. Ambiance is very elegant with pure class. Food was exceptional, and our waitress Silviane was a most attentive, friendly and professional individual. Her attention to making our evening special was met with great success. Highly recommend the sunset dinner option. Dr. Michael J. Fraser
Nice place, great food. Great service. Nicholas was awesome. Lobster was amazing! Considering our visit was during the "off-season" it was exceptional.
We've wanted to try this restaurant for some time. We finally made it there and it was excellent. There were a LOT of cars in the lot so we weren't sure how good service would be. Food was great and service was excellent. We will definitely be going back. Menu is pretty big, will need to try some additional entrees. Recommend.
We had reservations and were seated promptly. The food from begininng to end was fantastic. The drinks were perfect. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. There was a gentleman playing music, he was very enjoyable and at a good sound level where you could still talk. Not our first time to the Cape but our first time to this restaurant and we will be back our next trip. We had a great experience.
The night we went was a VERY last minute choice for the family and it was a good one! It was after 9pm, we had a group of 6 and we were seated within 10 minutes. Our waiter Andrew was still full of energy and very insightful. The kids thought he was "cool"! The food portions and the flavors were excellent. Our table ordered 2 Chicken Parmesans, 2 Chicken Atlantis, Grilled cheese & fries for the little one and a clam chowder for Mom who is a nibbler. Everyone enjoyed the food. There was also live entertainment. This place is great and we will definitely go back when we get back to The Cape! We like it so much we even signed up for the rewards program. Sorry we didn't get photos!
I had such a great experience here! The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Our food came out perfectly every dish was correct and genuinely exceeded our expectations. Our server, Silviane, was absolutely wonderful. She is incredibly attentive, hardworking, and so kind. We truly have nothing to complain about. She made our visit even more special!!
We had a great experience overall. The steak au poivre with mashed potatoes and broccolini was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked with a rich, flavorful sauce. The chicken parm was also excellent and a very large portion. We ordered from the Sunset 3-course, which was a fantastic value. The ricotta meatballs were fresh and tender, and the cheesecake was the perfect happy ending. Excellent service and a very enjoyable meal overall.
This restaurant exceeded all my expectations and recommendations the food is super delicious if you are looking for a meal with a great flavor and enjoyment this is the place. My family loved it.
This was our second Thanksgiving Day dinner at this restaurant. Our reservation was observed and we were promptly seated at the respectived reserved time. The Thanksgiving menu was delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was very cozy. We enjoyed it and we are recommending this restaurant in general and for the Thanksgiving lunch or dinner in particular.
Our favorite Hyannis eatery. Many specials, particularly their sunset dinners. Classy, predictable and you are treated as a special guest. Greek themed dishes from family recipes are sprinkled within the menu. Food is delicious no matter if it's seafood, Italian or a roast. Desserts are sinful especially their giant sized slice of chocolate cake.
Great food! Got the prime rib and lobste, delicious! Wife got the chicken atlantis and said it was awesome. Service was outstanding. Server Silviane was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back.
The restaurant has plenty of parking and was decorated for Halloween. There’s a cool water wheel inside the building. Service is slow and appears to be short-staffed. The bread came out fresh and hot with the olive oil dip. You’ll definitely want more bread to either dip in the olive oil or your meal! The lobster mac and cheese is pricey but you definitely get your moneys worth. The cheese is flavorful and comes out really hot with the pasta. The lobster portion is generous is large chunks of lobster that makes this a more filling meal than a lobster roll. This is part of a family of restaurants around Cape Cod. I would give them all a try.
Had a nice dining experience here. The parking lot was full on arrival ( which says a lot) and there was plenty of parking . We dined around 7:30 , and the welcome was very pleasant and was seated right away( we had reservations) We got the perfect table, looking out the windows( street side). We sat next to a vent however, so the heat made us a bit warm. Our server was clearly a veteran and was quite professional and courteous. Food portions were very good, more than I could chew , and was enjoyed. The seafood risotto was a bit too creamy and hard to eat it all. We think maybe the risotto should be on the side. Oh, the homemade bread is oh so good, and that big ice cream for dessert is definitely for shares, easily for 4ppl. Price range was typical, ambiance modern and comfortable. A nice small music set up, and a singer added a lively Friday night atmosphere.. I heard this is a must do spot if in the area , and I agree.
We reserved a table via OpenTable, so we were accommodated very fast. Our server was nice , but unfortunately was not able to hear us very well because we were seated next to the musician playing that night. By the way , the saxophonist was very talented and warmed up the whole time with his music. Going back to the food , we started with a margarita and sangria for my wife and I. Margarita was served in a giant glass so we can tell for sure that not the best alcohol was used for the drink. My white sangria was ok. Appetizers, crab cake , octopus and the steak and cheese rolls. The only one with very good texture and flavor was the crab cake, the other two were just ok , nothing else. Main entrees : seafood fra diavlo and lamp chops. Pasta was overcooked, sauce perfectly balanced with spicy and levels of salt, the super star was the sauce. My wife lamb was cold and very low in salt and flavor. The cut was not the best for this dish and the vegetables as side were extremely overcooked. The place is beautiful and I was expecting mind blowing dishes, unfortunately the food is not very good to be honest. Our server was nice and very attentive to our needs.
My steak was good but not cooked as I ordered it. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. Other than that, the staff was pleasant. The atmosphere was nice. My server checked on me, but she didn't hover, which I like. The drink was delicious. The Greek salad was amazing!
Filet mignon was excellent. Lobster a bit on a dry side. Wine very good. We enjoyed the fact we could walk there.
Food was pretty good and the atmosphere was nice. I had a house salad with chicken kabobs, and my husband had their specialty dish with lobster, scallops, chicken and mushrooms. He said it wad good but the lobster was chewy. Glad we were seated in the front room away from the guy singing. It was loud and I could tell people were struggling to have a conversation.
Food and atmosphere were good. Mussel portion is great. The risotto had a strong vinaigrette taste so we didn’t enjoy that dish. The clam chowder was good.
Pretty good place. Prime rib is GLUTEN FREE. My date got the shrimp pasta and liked it. Prime rib cooked to my liking. Usually gets over cooked at other places. They have a deal 3-6p for 3 course meal. Staff is nice. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable on drink making. Place is nicely decorated
Very disappointed yesterday after visiting one of my favorite places for my 35 Anniversary. The food was not hot as in past experiences( always impressed with the meals hot). The server was waiting in too many tables and running back and forth to deliver. We are expected to tip good which we did. We did not want to complain because the waitress was working like a one armed wall paper hanger. I hope Never experience this again here. Also a 20 ounce prime rib seemed to be 6 ounces of fat. Come on Yarmouth House don’t lose the traditions that made a reputation for you.
Very hard day to review, being Thanksgiving. Occasionally we had interaction with our server, but I know she played to the bigger tables, which is understandable. We both had clam chowder, delish. Everyone around us got rolls, we had to eventually ask as our main course was served, but they were fresh and hot. Shrimp scampi was great. Pecan crusted cod would have been MUCH better if the veggies were placed on the side not on the fish, that became just soggy. Mashed potatoes under the fish was very good. Chocolate cake was very good, apple crisp was just another mush, but whipped cream and ice cream was great. Decor was very nice, festive. Considering, they did a very good job.
We had high hopes from this restaurant since it has good reviews. We were craving steak. We ordered 5 plates with filet mignon (medium rare) and they were charbroiled and way too charred for our taste. Everything else was very bland.
Great attentive service. Cocktail was tasty and well made. I have heard the food here was excellent yet I received a prime rib that was the fattiest I've ever had. 60% of it was gross and left on the plate. Appetizers and dessert were fine. I might come back someday but will not order the prime rib.
The food at the Yarmouth House was just average. The crostini in the French onion soup was so hard that you couldn’t even cut it with a knife. The fish fry was nothing to write home about. The stuffed haddock was not actually stuffed.A patty of stuffing was sitting on top of the fish. The apple crisp was not warm or crisp. Your server Seth was horrible. He never checked on your meal. He grumpy to us the entire time. He was friendly and nice to the tables around us but not us.
Came here for a date night with my wife recently. This place has great parking and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server Siviane however did not seem to have much experience in her job. I ordered a steak and my wife got some seafood. My steak wasn't cooked properly and my wife asked for a side of potatoes that never came. I don't think she was listening very well. The food we got was very tasty so well done to the chef. We also order a couple of cocktails and she didn't seem to have a strong grasp on the alcohol menu. Then at the end of our meal she asked us to write a review and write her name down for us. I thought that was strange and a little pushy. Not saying I wouldn't go back again but only if I get a different server
Overall, not a great experience and we won’t be back. Sadly, my 14 ounce prime rib was severely overcooked despite me ordering it medium rare. This wasn’t our servers fault as she told us that they were out of medium rare prime rib (as she served me my food) and she very was apologetic. Definitely would’ve ordered something else had I known that beforehand and saved myself the $42 since it was mostly very tough to eat but sounds like it was the kitchens fault so my advice would be ask beforehand if they have medium rare prime rib available before ordering it. My espresso martini was good. My wife was indifferent about her entree (chicken kebab). Restaurant sadly didn’t offer anything to remedy the prime rib situation so it is what it is.
Great food, highly recommend BUT be careful with the Sunset Menu, we have been there before 5:45 and ordered our drinks, after a while we wanted to order the Sunset Menu, which was declined as it was after that time period. In the menu is mentioned they the party needs to be seated before this time, which we did, after a discussion with the manager he declined to stick to the menu and left without a further comment our table, this is something you definitely not except from a restaurant on the higher end if the price table and is not very customer oriented. If you as restaurant don't stick to what you write just don't offer such kind of menus!!! I took a picture to prove what's mentioned on the menu.
Meh. Stressed out waiting area. Was asked to follow a host to be seated and then told not to, and given no further indication what was happening. Finally seated and ready to enjoy a great meal with the fun fall decor. Everything was fine until my filet mignon arrived slathered in cold, gelatinous brown sauce. It touched everything. The rest of the food kn the plate was tepid. I ate the two bites of underdone steak. The manager offered to replace my meal, but why bother? My kiddo was almost done by the time that offer came, so waiting for a new entree wasnt an option. Oh well. Don't recommend.
Eating here on Valentine’s Day was one of worst dining experiences I’ve ever experienced. After being seated for our reservation, it took just under 15 minutes for our server to come over. She did not introduce herself so we never got her name. The bread plates on the table were visibly greasy and one had leftover food bits on it. Silverware was also greasy and not polished. I did ask for these to be replaced because ew. After we ordered drinks and appetizers, she failed to check in even after seeing the drink I had ordered was now being drank by my partner (because it was not good and we didn’t want to make a fuss, so he swapped with me - drink was the special rose margarita) she didn’t ask about our apps either. Clam chowder was lukewarm, shrimp cocktail was okay but for $18 we got 3 shrimp which was disappointing. Again, not wanting to make a fuss we made the best of it. The chowder was okay, absolutely nothing special. She did try to take our apps away while we were still eating which i thought was interesting that she had multiple chances to check in and didn’t. We ordered the Atlantic chicken and the lobster topped filet. I thought the Atlantic dish was watery and lacked flavor. My hungry boyfriend said he didn’t care and needed to eat after a day of traveling. The filet was ordered medium and came out medium well, the lobster was dry and tasteless, not served with butter? Weird. It seemed like it had been left under a heat lamp. The mushroom risotto that my boyfriend ordered for his chicken dish ended up on my plate, it was also not good. After a couple bites I waved to our server to let her know this dish was disappointing and the steak was overcooked and grey. Her response was “well, if you didn’t eat most of it I could’ve gotten you something else. Do you want a manager?” I was actually shocked at her response. I had only cut it up to show her the color of the meat. I said yes I’ll speak with your manager. He came over after a few moments, quickly swept up the plate and just said “sorry about that”. Did not inquire about the rest of our experience, it was clear he just wanted the interaction to be over as soon as possible so he could return to the host stand, restaurant is closed at this point. very disappointing. I wish we had gotten up and left after it taking so long for us to be greeted and the dirty dishes. The restaurant was not busy, and our server failed to tend to her other tables as well as ours. The couple next to us flagged down someone else to order more food only to be told the kitchen had closed 30 minutes ago with no warning. All of her tables sat with empty water and cocktail glasses. Our server lacked all urgency and truly gave off the message she did NOT want to be there. I did get offered another dish and selected the butternut squash ravioli which was tasty. The julienne carrots on the dish - some were cooked, some were raw. Our sever completely lacked hospitality what so ever but when we paid tried to engage with us with a fake smile, thinking about her incoming gratuity. We tipped just under 20% because I have empathy and a conscious. The live music they had was lovely, that and having the company I did were the only elements that weren’t awful. Good service can makeup for a LOT of shortcomings. Unfortunately the service matched the food quality, poor. For $155 dinner, I truly would have had a better dining experience at Chipotle. We won’t return.
We went on Thanksgiving eve at the opening of 3pm. Martinis by Mathew were outstanding. Very engaging. Meatballs with ricotta were tasty. Fresh onion soup was delish. Bread ok. Baked "stuffed" haddock was gross. Burnt bread crumbs instead of advertised lobster stuffing. Fishy enough to make both of us gag. We both got the recommended "Home made" apple crisp...more like nursing home made. Absolutely horrible $150 experience.
Terrible experience on the last night of our honeymoon. We got seated at 6:05 and didn't see our server until almost 6:25- after i mentioned the wait time she seemed to rush us out. Took our drinks and food order at the same time, then proceeded to make sure we were aware that she would rush the kitchen. Rushing the kitchen was futile, I ordered the filet mignon (cooked medium) and half lobster, with mashed potatoes and any veg other than the veg typically served (the typical veg with the dish is asparagus.) The steak i ordered came out raw, the veg was asparagus, my husbands dish was perfect. They took my dish back to the kitchen, to have them remake my steak and get a new vegtable- and brought me back the same raw steak, no vegetables. They took the plate back AGAIN- my steak came out well done, the lobster was tough after sitting under a heat lamp, and this time they brought a plate of steamed vegetable mush with no flavor. This was a terrible end to me and my husbands honeymoon- and the server seemed unsympathetic while the manager couldn't even be bothered to visit. One star because at least they comped the meal after the terrible experience
We were seated at our reserved time, 7PM for my friend’s birthday since we were referred here by our hotel. It took our server a long time to greet us and take our orders. After 40mins we received drinks and another 10mins to get bread/oil. We never received refills for our drinks or waters. After 90mins we got our food and it was cold because our server was so inattentive. He never checked on us to see how the food was. We had to find an employee to request to leave. The manager then came over and took our plates, told him we wished to pay for our drinks and leave but he was very dismissive and spoke over us/cut us off. He then came back over a few minutes later with (seemingly) the same plates we had before but piping hot. My first plate, the chicken kebab, had two skewers and the tzatziki sauce. The second, “new”, plate the manager brought out had only one and missing sauce. Our server came over shortly thereafter and we told him we wished to pay and leave and didn’t want new plates as it had been 2hrs at that point and the experience was ruined. He only said “ok” with an attitude, took the plates, left, and finally brought the check shortly later. The manager then came and inspected our tip before we left. The whole experience felt very dismissive and disrespectful. The atmosphere is great but the service and food needs work.
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. My friend wanted to go here because I have never been and she raved about this place so I agreed. A week before Christmas. The place was packed with Christmas parties and family gatherings. We were greeted by the host as we entered He appeared stressed out and way overwhelmed. Then, as we were seated, I waiter came, and he was not in a good mood, he was grouchy, rude, and extremely disrespectful. As an appetizer, we ordered the calamari you could tell the calamari was not fresh, but it was frozen , no flavor whatsoever so ever and it was chewy. We ordered calamari. We didn’t order calamari and breaded peppers.. then the waiter brings out dipping oil. We didn’t have any bread we had to wait at least 15 minutes for the bread. I got the salmon on top of Rissoto w/ asparagus.. it was the worse meal presentation I have ever seen. The risotto was mushy and way over cooked, my salmon dry and flakey and the asparagus, not even cooked. My friend got the haddock in some sauce and she liked it. I tried it, it was decent, but the haddock was floating in sauce. I sent back my meal and the dirty looks I was receiving from the host and waiter.? They did comp my meal, we paid and left immediately. I was really disappointed, I was so excited about coming here and the let down was just crushing! The customer service is a big fat zero, along with the food. The only nice thing I have nice to say about this place is that it was beautifully decorated for the holidays.
