We had a request that was handled by Steve and he did a fantastic job locating the problem and fixing it right away. Very very helpful and a great guy! Kevin and the whole staff at Avalon Bay are the best! Always very helpful and courteous. A great experience living here.

Avalon Westbury was a great place to live. The complex was very nice, my apartment was beautiful at move in. Maintenance was always on top of any service requests and at times responded immediately. The office staff was fantastic also, they were very proactive with notifications through email and responded to phone calls timely. I would definitely recommend living there.
I came in for a tour of the apartments this weekend , had met with the leasing agent Natalie … all I can say she was such a sweet person very informative and knowledgeable about the properties.
I just moved to Avalon, Westbury. Allison did a great job welcoming me to the community. She has been very helpful and communicated throughout the process. Maintenance has responded to a few concerns and immediately fixed the problems. The grounds are very pretty.
I have been living in Avalon for quite a few years. The staff is great and the maintenance support team is fantastic. Nick is part of the maintenance team he very efficient and provides quality work every single time. The Avalon is a great place to live.
I stayed in Avalon for almost one year, the environment is quiet beautiful. The administrative room is very clean and the service is very polite. I especially appreciate for the gentlemen Mr. Rod and Mr. Shane, who are friendly to help me moving the furniture, their service always make residents here feel warmed.
Haven't moved in yet, but I am counting down the days! In the interim, I wanted to publicly acknowledge the professionalism of Danielle and Lindsay. During these difficult times it was refreshing how positive and helpful both ladies were as I had question upon question and I have afew more. Danielle was proactive and made the entire leasing process one of the most efficient transactions I have ever had. Avalon is lucky to have these ladies as the face/voice of the Community and Avalon. I feel home already. Update 9/7 after a year of living here I find the Maintenance Team are the the property, I love my unit and Building. I am however concerned about the recent uptick in police activity on the property, then other day bldg alarms were going off and nobody to reach, we still don't know cause and yesterday a minimun of 6 County PD and Crime Scene Unit on site for hours, don't know why. Then they are the transients who either rotate in a unit or there's use of the facilities from outsiders they leave doors pinned open so kids and friends can access gym and pool. Time to invest in a smart security gate for complex and add surveillance cameras abound. The systems have gotten much more reliable since days of Archstone and installing the gate may lead to reduced drop of if junk by garbage. Overall still a great place to live.
Natalie K has been an absolutely delightful leasing agent. She is knowledgeable and answered all my questions and concerns. It was an easy transition from a home to an apartment with her expertise.
14 Jan 2021 As all of us have navigated through, and continue to navigate through the uncertain and unsettling times of this pandemic, I want to give a shout-out to Rob, Danielle, and Tori, of the management office, and to Nick and Steve of the maintenance staff. While some of us have the ability to work from home, these people show up. Following all of the necessary precautions, they are always willing to answer questions, or address any issues that may be of concern. Thank you Rob, Danielle, Tori, Nick and Steve. I am midway through my third year at Avalon Westbury. I want to give a shout-out recognition to the maintenance staff. Specifically Nick, Shayne, and Elijah. For any issue that has arisen, I have submitted an online request. Within a short time, I receive a call or a knock on my door to assess the situation. Shortly after, a repair or replacement is complete. They are always professional and courteous, will say hello and acknowledge the residents as they make their way around the community. They are an asset to the Avalon Westbury community.
Been here for a month and can't really complain; especially when it came to maitnance. Rod has been to the apartment a few times now and each time he could explain to me what the problem was while fixing it keeping it professional and getting things done in a timely fashion. He's a very nice guy and it makes it a little more settling knowing that there are individuals like him around.
Phil has been fantastic and always gets the job done. Extremely courteous as well. Also, the new supervisor was equally competent and friendly. 5 stars hands down... Rob 2109

On Saturday, May 14, we called because we had no hot water in our apartment. Rod was extremely attentive and replaced our hot water heater with Shane. They did it quickly and were so nice to our family.
Lou was in our apartment today to work on our air conditioning unit. He did such a great job at not only making sure our problem was solved but also he helped my kids n myself with their science project! Thank you Lou we really appreciate your service.
Rod has, as always, been great, arriving quickly when needed, and fixing everything that needed to be fixed in a very professional manner. I also want to add that Rich and Phil came almost immediately when I called and were also great and very nice and professional.
Just moved in and all I can say its amazing having everything so close by especially when you have small children. Moving in before the summer really helps with all the amenities. Maintenance is great as well they response quickly. They also take the time to explain what and how they will be resolving our issues.
5/5 stars! I toured the apartment complex with Mike, who was very helpful and professional regarding leasing options. He led us through every option and made us feel very comfortable with Avalon. Would definitely recommend!

Avalon Westbury is a calm and pleasant community. I am so blessed to reside in a beautifully designed community for over 10+ years. I absolutely love the new renovations to the clubhouse, it’s so industrial chic, and the supervisor, Anthony is so welcoming and warm, along with Natalie our leasing consultant and the entire staff.

Avalon maintenance staff are awesome!!! Thanks to Philip that he fixed my sink in the kitchen and light in the dining area so well! In addition, he tried not to make my kitchen like a mess and kept everything clean and tidy.
I have been living at Avalon Westbury since July 2017. I recently had some issues with my toilet where it wouldn't flush. The maintenance team was very prompt in responding to my service request and the technician assigned to my case, Shane Chapman, was a consummate professional. Shane was extremely nice and knew exactly how to fix the problem. This is the 3rd time I have had to put in a service request and each experience has been the same, the maintenance crew here is great!
Natalie made our moving process very smooth. I came for a tour and submitted an application for my parents right away. Couldn’t have asked for a better leasing agent

I met Toni Weathers 2 months ago at Avalon Westbury when she was still working there. She took my daughter and me on a tour and was very personable and knowledgeable. Although she transferred to Avalon in Garden City, I kept in touch with her because I felt she was honestly interested in helping my daughter and me find the perfect apartment, whether it was in Westbury or Garden City. Toni returned every one of my calls and emails promptly, and even went so far as to make a video clip of an apartment, which she emailed me, to see if my daughter and I could make it work. She is such a wonderful person, very professional, helpful, and friendly, and it was such a pleasure and honor for my daughter and me to meet her. I commend her highly on her professionalism, conscientiousness, and authentic personality, and both my daughter and I are grateful to her for all her help. Melanie Hines, an agent, at the Westbury Avalon helped us choose the perfect apartment. She was never too busy to return a phone call or email me within a short period of time. She took me on a tour of an apartment that was similar to mine since the apartment I was interested in was still occupied. She had so much patience and was so good-natured while I made a video clip to show my daughter who was away at the time. A few weeks later, upon my request, Melanie even went into an unoccupied apartment and measured a closet so I would know if a piece of my daughter's furniture would fit inside it on Moving Day. She has been so sweet, efficient, and interested in our happiness throughout the entire process. We really appreciate all she has done for us. Avalon should be very pleased that Melanie is working so diligently for them. My daughter and I are very pleased to know her.
Living here is reliable safe and friendly. Moving from the city for work,the Avalon team has made my transition great. Nothing is perfect in life but their response to maintenance is near perfect. Steve from maintenance was a true professional and an asset to the Avalon company in his work on my unit.
Last week I needed service on my bathroom faucet as well as my outdoor mailbox. Leo successfully made both repairs within 24 hrs of my request. He was cordial, skilled and left each job without any evidence that he was even there!
Shane was our Maintenance person this morning. He was very good. He knew what was going on and was able to explain to me the problem in simple words. He made sure that the fix was up to our satisfaction. Thanks Shane. Also, I love the quick response to Service requests at Avalon Westbury!
There's nothing like coming home to peace and being able to relax and enjoy my home! You know what else there's nothing like especially being in New York city? Great customer service and being kind hearted to those around you. Now when I think about great customer service and humbleness I think about Natalie Khusial at the front desk of my apartment complex Avalon Westbury. She's bubbly, willing and eager to help out and has just and all around winning personality. We need more people like her not only at this complex but in the world. On Friday, March 18 at around 5:30 PM our hot water heater broke. We called the 24 hour maintenance line and within 20 minutes Nick appeared at our door. He checked the water heater which needed to be replaced and explained everything to us. He was professional, thoughtful, easy to talk to, and explained what had to happen that night and the next day which was Saturday. Nick showed up on Saturday with a smile on his face and a professional attitude. He proceeded to take out the old water heater and hook up the new one. Needless to say we had hot water by early afternoon. I’d like to thank Nick for his timely response and professionalism. PLS have HUGE signs that ppl shouldn't be talking on their phones in gym and a bigger sign saying to unrack weights from smith machine. So rude Nick, Louis & Leo are AMAZING Maintenance is amazing! Thanks again! HUGE SHOUT OUT TO TONI AND MIKE IN THE AVALON WESTBURY OFFICE!!! They went above and beyond for me this week. I was sick at home with my husband out of town and a phone call to the office was all it took to get some help. I am so grateful and don't know what I would have done had they not been willing to do something that's not in a job description. Words don't express how thankful I am but please know that you were lifesavers for me on Thursday. I will not forget your kindness. It's such a comfort to live in a place where people show real concern for you. Thanks again Toni and Mike! Had Lou at my apartment on yesterday, April 17, 2018 to resolve a beeping noise in our apartment. He was at my door within fifteen minutes and problem solved. So thankful for the prompt and courteous service. Toni's painting class was outstanding last night. We had a great time and really appreciate the team taking their personal time to put on such a nice function for the residents. Had work completed by Rod today, March 17, 2017. Once again it was taken care of efficiently. I am thankful the maintenance team is there when you need them. Rod came today, March 15, 2017 to repair my oven. He was here within an hour of me making the request! Work was done quickly and efficiently and I am now all set. Very appreciative! Just had maintenance work completed by Rod today (5-17-16) and it was great. Prompt response and was even shown how to handle issue if it happens in the future.
The Westbury maintenance team always seems to respond to maintenance requests so quickly and Steve and Nick are always so nice and get the issue solved quickly and efficiently. They communicate the process and always clean up if necessary. Keep up the great work!
Rod and Shane the maintenance men are absolutely amazing! I put in a service request for my fridge and they were here in 15 minutes! Super nice guys, did an outstanding job and had me back in business in less than 20 minutes. One of the best parts of living here for sure!
I am a current resident and I am very pleased to review Avalon in Westbury NY. The staff is always so professional and prompt to serve you. I emailed the maintenance to change the batteries in my smoke detectors, in less than an hour Phil came replaced the old smoke detectors with 3 new ones and went above and beyond by removing my old broken table out of the apt. Thank you Phil you are simply the best :)
All the staffs here are really friendly. Especially Philip, Rod, and Lu at the maintenance service. They are very helpful and pays attention to small details. Rod and Lu helped us to fix the ac really quick, life savers. Great experience living in Avalon Westbury;)
This review is not for Avalon as much as it is for their maintenance staff. The maintenance workers here have been absolutely fantastic - especially John Cafiero. Any time (and I mean any time, I'm a pretty busy person and have all sorts of strange hours) I have ever had a problem, it has been resolved in a quick and efficient manner. I can trust him to be in my home when I'm not here, and they are always friendly and HAPPY to help. Most recently, I needed my AC turned on. I actually grabbed John outside while he was working on another project. He came up to the apartment immediately after he finished to take a look and he went above and beyond - turning on the AC and then instead of leaving, he stuck around to make sure it was actually WORKING - and it's a good thing he did or I would have been left melting in my apartment. It turns out I needed parts or chemicals replaced (whatever it is that actually makes it blow COLD air). He also replaced my thermostat without me asking. It is very rare to find maintenance workers (or any workers) who are so friendly AND good at their jobs. Thank you for making my life run smoother and for all your help!
Rod the service guy has always been so nice to my family who lives here!! He goes out of his way to help my elderly dad and sister. He always is so courteous and efficient! He always has a smile as well!!! I am so greatful for Rod and the other Avalon maintenance workers as well!!!
I recently moved in and do not have internet service, so I had to call for Maintenance Service and they sent me Nick. I originally just called for a dryer issue, however, after he fixed that with no problem, I told him that the AC wasn’t working properly and the front door handle was broken. I felt terrible putting all of this on him, but again I couldn’t send anything online due to not having any online service. Nick was AMAZING! He was so Professional, Courteous, and displayed such a willingness to help, which he did. He was supposed to fix 1 thing and ended up fixing 3! I hope Avalon knows what an extraordinary employee they have in Nick! THANK YOU AGAIN NICK FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND, IT WAS MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!
On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, we arrived home late in the afternoon to find our air conditioner not working, and the apartment much too hot for comfort. We used Avalon's "Resident App," and described the problem as urgent (not to sound spoiled, but to us it was). We barely had time to stress about how long we'd be living without air conditioning on a hot evening, when less than a half hour after submitting the request Nick arrived at our door, assessed the situation and fixed it (looked like a big job too). Not only was Nick very prompt in arriving and fixing the problem, but he is a true pleasure to deal with, as has been our experience with all of Avalon's service people. Frankly, because it was so late in the day, I didn't expect to hear from Avalon service until the next morning -- and so Nick's extremely fast arrival was all the more appreciated. This was the first time we submitted a request to Avalon for urgent service. However, I should point out that over time we have submitted a handful of non-urgent service requests. Each time the problem was attended to the Avalon service department very promptly and, of course, professionally.
Been living in Avalon Westbury for a year (apt 1404). Steve has been great at making sure all our maintenance needs are handled quickly and efficiently. Rod has also been great at fixing things quickly. This is a great neighborhood to live in and we have had no problems here. Would highly recommend Avalon.
Anthony Citrola was very efficient and professional. He answered all of my questions in depth and provided me with more information that I didn’t even know. I think that’s the first time I ever left a place not confused or felt like my questions weren’t really answered in an understandable manner.
Avalon is an amazing place to call home. The grounds are always kept up with and the staff is second to none. Tori on the staff is so welcoming and helpful! Whenever I have a question or concern, She goes above and beyond to not only me but to each and every person that comes her way and is a tremendous asset to the avalon.
Very happy with our service this evening. Our heat broke for the second time this week on a very cold evening and Rod came out well after hours and wouldn't leave until it was fixed for us since we have an infant. He even ran across the street to Home Depot to get the parts we needed. Very happy we didn't have to go to a hotel tonight! Thank you!
I lived here for a few years before moving out early last year. I promised the leasing office I would leave a review, so a year later, here I am. Lindsay and Danielle are great, very professional. I forgot the name of the head maintenance guy at the time but he was awesome too. Friendly people from the leasing office, tenants are generally good people too.
We had an issue with our refrigerator, and Nick and Steve came to acess the problem, and we had a replacement within 3-days. They were very friendly, accommodating, and efficient. Kudos to a Great maintenance crew!
I've lived at Avalon for 11 years and the team from maintenance to the office are phenomenal!!! The bingo event was the first event I've been to and it was such a great time. Made lots of new friends and I'm excited for upcoming events. Love westbury
New Resident here at Avalon Westbury. I have to review the Maintenance Staff who most certiainly work for the tenets. Our appliances needed attention, Steve showed up same day and helped us with replacement appliance to get our Apartment up to our needs. They are very responsive, quick to show up and absolutely deliver on time with services. I would reccomend Avalon Westbury to anyone looking for a quality place to live with a very responsive maintenance team.
This is a very cozy place, my son was invited to a pool party, the community is very quiet and clean, the barbeque grill right next to the pool. Seeing many people reading books on patio lounge chairs next to the pool. Well maintained landscape.
Shane was assigned to fix the heat in our apartment when we had no air coming from our vents. He did a phenomenal job in analyzing the system and pin pointing a couple of issues. luckily for my wife and I Shane was able to fix the problems quickly and efficiently. He was very professional and courteous. Shane is very knowledgeable and I am glad he is part of the avalon staff!
Anthony from the leasing office is amazing! So funny, down to earth and professional! He assisted my parents with any questions they had regarding the lease! (Which requires a lot of patience lol)! My parents are excited and confident with their decision to move into Avalon Westbury!
Avalon Westbury has been unfairly targeted with negative reviews. It’s clean, quiet, and the people are amazing. Residents and staff included. Kevin has been particularly outstanding. When we had a sudden drop in temperature. He made sure my heat was turned on. Knowing I had a small child and a bun in the oven. When my dishwasher broke I revived a new one within days. He always follows up and never blows me off. I love living here. So blessed we found our way to Avalon Westbury.
We have moved from a house into an apt at Westbury Avalon. We wanted to thank all that have worked so hard to make this apt our home: in the order of our acquaintance: Anthony, Natalie, Steve and Nick: Job well done as we are thrilled to be living here ; and, oh so thankful for all that you all have done to ensure our happiness and contentment. UPDATE MARCH 2025: We want to give a shout out to Mr. Luis Taylor for helping us with dishwasher and door issues that we were experiencing. He was quick to respond,efficient and very knowledgeable. Luis is an asset to the Avalon Community. UPDATE OCTOBER 2024: We wanted to express our appreciation to Anthony, Natalie, Nick and to Luis Taylor for always addressing any issues/concerns in a timely and supportive manner. Anytime I reach out to maintenance they always respond promptly and professionally. I have dealt with Nick, Leo and Steve and they're all a pleasure to work with. Most recently I had a issue with my AC unit and Steve came right away, figured out the issue and made the necessary repair quickly. I have only good things to say about my experience thus far with Avalon's maintenance team. Excellent work guys, thank you!
I love the maintenance crew. They always in point with fixing and taking care of what the problem is and they are very generous and respectful. They never take long to do something unless it’s a back order or waiting on n a vendor. Other than that the maintenance crew do their job very well.

I've been living at the Westbury Avalon for over a year. Maintenance repairman Nick is fantastic!! Nick just finished a repair to my toilet, installed new caulk around the bathroom sink and did some painting touch up. Nick's maintenance and interpersonal skills are top notch. In my opinion, Nick is an excellent professional representative of the Avalon company. Thank you for the prompt, quick and excellent service! I also want to thank the maintenance team's supervisor, Mike, for scheduling this toilet repair so quickly when I informed him of the issue. (update: 12/09/2019) Winter heating season has started. The heat in my apartment didn't seem as warm as it was last year. Nick came by and quickly adjusted the heat so it is now fine! Thx.
Craig consistently does an excellent job. He is professional, respectful, and always addresses maintenance issues quickly and efficiently. He takes the time to explain what the problem is and makes sure everything is fully resolved before leaving. His work is thorough and dependable, and it truly makes a difference.

Nick and Anthony are amazing. Nick is one of the maintenance gurus here at Avalon and Anthony is in charge of the front office. Everyone who works here treats every resident with the upmost respect, compassion and support. My toddler and I have lived here for going on 4 years now. Recently I had a maintenance emergency at 1:30am middle of the night/morning and Nick who was on call for maintenance arrived in under 40 minutes (mind you he was home in bed sleeping with his family, but provided the circumstances of myself as a resident and himself as the on call individual he arrived what I would say as immediately to help). Community is something you cannot put a price on. Thanks Nick and Anthony for all your support continuously :)
Natalie and Anthony in the leasing office are both so helpful and informative. The move in process has been seamless. Nick took care of some very minor issues during the move-in inspection. The community is very well maintained and safe.
This afternoon, I had a wonderful time at the first ever Bingo games at Avalon Westbury! Anthony was a fantastic Bingo caller, and Natalie was so sweet, going around the rooms to see if anyone needed help. I’m looking forward to having more resident events. It was certainly very nice to meet some people f the other residents.

Had relocated from out of state and chose to live here due to the size of the apartments, the huge outdoor balcony, community feel and amenities, as well as the prime location. The gym is state of the art and the new lobby is beautiful. Any maintenance issues were addressed professionally. The dog park is awesome and met a lot of wonderful neighbors. Overall a very good stay.
Maintenance….the best! !! Nick and Luis are both absolutely AMAZING! They have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence, regularly going above and beyond to produce outstanding results. The work Nick deliver is consistently at a very high quality. He responds in a timely manner and is very polite, professional and knowledgeable. Yesterday Luis had to put a few minor touches on my bathroom tiles…he showed up on time and did a great job. From start to finish it was great.
excellent Maintenance crew. Rod called me barely 10 minutes after putting in the service order and finished repairs immediately. it will be 2 years residing at Avalon Westbury and i already signed the lease for another year. There is something special about the apartment. the proximity to all the markets and serenity just is just outstanding. 5 stars to Avalon Westbury and all their active staff members who work so hard.
Avalon is a very nice place to live. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept...lots of green space. Like anyplace else, your living experience depends on having considerate neighbors. Robert in the main office is so welcoming and helpful! Whenever I have a question or concern, Robert never makes me feel like you are a burden, and takes his time to address my concerns. I lived at Avalon Westbury for two years. The apartments were nice and quiet. Only issue was there being no elevator. If there were any maintenance issues, they were addressed quickly. The gym and pool were also a nice added feature. Apartments were roomy and comfortable. But, unfortunately my move out experience was less than stellar. I moved out right around the time of the renovations of the gym, main office and package room. There was no office staff on site. I was told to leave my keys on the counter. I did so on the last day of my lease (October 24th) , but I noticed charges included the day after the end of my lease. I believe they calculated up to the time their staff actually came and picked up the keys and viewed the apartment. Which is unfair. If I vacated the apartment on 10/24, I should not have fees until 10/25. Also, I was charged a carpet fee, when it was indicated on my move in sheet that there were already 2 pinkish carpet stains (bleach stains maybe?) on the carpet when I moved in. All in all, over $500 of my security was held back although the apartment was left in good condition. Just be aware that Avalon Westbury will invent reasons to hold on to most or all of your security. Also, and this is for upper management- the office staff people are very unfriendly and often unhelpful. They are very nice to prospective renters. But once you actually become a tenant, they are cold and unfriendly. Otherwise, nice apartments at premium prices.
Our apartment is so nice. I loved it. Overall my experience here was good. Anthony from management is always rude, but the maintenance staff is incredible and makes up for it. They are the nicest people around, and so helpful. Unfortunately the other residents can be disgusting pigs. We pay too much for the garbage to constantly look like this. Management needs to start enforcing the fines for dumping.
I had service request completed by Philip at Westbury Avalon and he was very helpful. He called to confirm the time prior and pretty much took care of everything I asked him to take care of. He also went above and beyond and made my shower pressure and sink pressure in the bathroom stronger for me.
Toured the community and was underwhelmed by the grounds. Both the landscaping, sides of the buildings are not taken care of, and there was litter around the pool area. Model apartments were clean, had great storage space, and the fitness center looked fantastic, but the apartments are a little outdated comparatively to other brands for the same price.
After being living here over a year, I’d like to share some of my experiences. 1. The location is great, close to shopping and LIRR. 2. The design, layout of the buildings and apartments are good. Gym and office have been updated after closing for long period of time. 3. Cop cars come to the Complex very often: search for someone, arrest some one, etc… 4. Maintenance requests are just being ignored for days and weeks. We had a leak from the roof and damaged the walls and floor. We lost use of the room for 50 days. No compensation for the loss. 5. Expect night parties start after midnight from your neighbors and smoking (Avalon claims to be a smoking free community) smell come from your neighboring apartments constantly.
Management Office who work in front office are very friendly, kind, would try help out as much possible. Just the up keep of property is not good shape meaning the grass is not being maintained properly and the water sprinklers aren’t working properly in spring and summer time. Sometimes the garbage compactor is broken. Mold in master bedroom and bathroom windows. Still waiting for response from maintenance nobody has come yet fix problem. Avalon Westbury NY
Lisa is very unprofessional when I ask her questions she don't respond to my texts. When I call her to know the details of the apartment she never pick up. She give me information last minute.
Awful place. $3500 a month starting apartments. Maintenance ignores requests and couldn’t care less about residents issues. Light fixtures in hallway of building hanging out of the socket, gym equipment including treadmills broken for months. Not exactly sure what they are paid for?? Bugs crawling in room, moldy carpets. Garbage compactor doesn’t latch closed for months, and will be overflowing for days. People will leave garbage on the floor outside of the compactor next to the sign that says not to . Section 8 residents will always be at the pool, letting their nephews out of town come over for a pool party and don’t know how to share and be respectful and/or quiet. Cars get stolen on property. There’s no semblance of security here. You’d be better off at the Allure in Mineola.
Do not live here. There was flood damage from burst pipes from the recent cold weather and it has turned into an absolute nightmare. The maintenance team refuses to communicate when repairs will be made and is rude and dismissive towards residents. I was told the bedroom pictured below is “reasonable habitable” by the maintenance team, and have tried to surface the issue with the leasing office in person 4 times in the past 7 days. The leasing manager Mike Ryan has been dodging me, and when I finally caught him in his office he let me sit in the lobby for 40 minutes waiting for “just a second” before telling me “go home and I’ll call you later, I’m too busy right now.” My apartment has been entirely unlivable for 11 days without an end in sight, as things were supposed to wrap up 3 days ago according to the awful communication this maintenance team gives. Our unit also had no working AC for 10 weeks last summer before they finally addressed the issue. The garbage compactor is out of commission for weeks leading to trash pile up and overall an awful experience living here for the last 11 months. Live anywhere else, as both the leasing team and maintenance team do not care about anything other than overcharging you on rent. Also maintenance told me they have 16 other units that are further behind schedule on wall reinstallation than ours, completely unacceptable to operate a community of this size with zero management ability to accommodate or help residents living in unlivable conditions for over 10 days. Save yourself the nightmare and live anywhere else.
The leasing process is absolutely terrible. There is no client service or personal touch to it. You aren't even shown a unit until you sit through their awful discovery phase of fees and taxes prior to viewing. You are then shown a 3D model of old dated apartments. When asking questions the leasing agents don't really have any answers, they just respond to you as if reading from a script. It's so unfortunate that their process is so impersonal. They are in great locations that would be desirable with a knowledge human touch.
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!...i am highly disappointed in the customer service at the front office, the maintenance workers are very rude and not compliant at all, especially when you're nice (i like to keep my carpets clean). After i requested help about a sweating ac unit i specifically asked to either take the shoes off or wear a cover, and they simply refused and walked out. One time one of them tried to just walk right into my apartment without knocking and claimed that it was an accident because he assumed it was vacant, i was out of the shower. The garbage disposal NEVER WORKS, i have to drive by an entire mountain of the complex's trash everyday. There is an obnoxiously loud "alarm" system unnecessarily located in the middle of my apartment that went off at 7am for absolutely no reason 3x in one month. They have converted the locks on my door from a regular keyhole doorknob to having to gain access with an APP, so imagine not being able to get into your own apartment because of a dead phone. Imagine having a computer science major and the ability to hack any apartment door on the premises, it's very easy (easy password) and the app also connects to your wallet. Imagine being an elder, handicapped or a foreigner without the comprehension of this ai technology, and even if they offered some kind of card to enter, why isn't everyone given that option, seems discriminatory. i cant believe the tactics management is using on the tenants to filter them through, chase one angry tenant out so another naive one can come right in with either a nice security deposit bonus, or a higher leasing agreement than the last for a new tenant. Breaking the lease regulations arrears is ridiculous. It's like one thing after another, it's not worth it, considering the fact that you're sharing the complex with loud inconsiderate government assisted tenants who destroy the place. The last straw was changing my locks to this app, i am furious, i want to enter my apartment normally with a KEY, we should've been given a choice instead of ACCEPT THE CHANGE and don't ask questions. Modernizing ? Let's start with modernizing the garbage disposal to actually work. Considering the location and qualifications of Avalon, I expected a lot better of an experience. Great ...now there's an app tracking me when i come and go in my own place.
After living in the Avalon complex for a few years, my roommates and I have had so many overwhelmingly unprofessional experiences. First of all, if you value personable customer service and human connection, I suggest looking literally anywhere else. The Avalon Westbury management team is absolutely impossible to get in touch with. The main office number AUTOMATICALLY directs the caller to voicemail every time and they do not call back. Natalie K. is the worst offender in this regard, despite the numerous positive bot-generated reviews saying otherwise. Whenever my roommates and I would submit a concern or request on the automated system, she would mark the requests as “completed” without actually attending to them. Secondly, as many other reviewers have commented, there is no security system in place at the complex. It isn’t uncommon to find drug dealers parked in the back corners of the complex— not that management would ever know, as there are NO SECURITY CAMERAS in the complex. One of the cars near our building suffered a hit-and-run in the parking lot, and the lack of cameras meant that the guilty party was never found. Many of the buildings are in a sorry state, some in dangerous condition. Our building had a sagging ceiling on the brink of collapse, which constantly leaked water all over the staircase and wasn’t attended to for months. After a few years of living there, they never fixed it.
This apartment complex is absolute trash- specifically horrible management. Most of the tenants there are via government housing- which would not be an issue, if the property was respected. You have some people that pay $4k+/month, however, 75% of tenants pay nothing and do not follow common courtesy. There is animal feces and trash everywhere. The grounds overall are nice- apartments, gym, pool- but most of the tenants ruin it. I suggest looking elsewhere.
I recently went to look at a one bedroom apartment with a friend and was very disappointed. The grounds were in awful condition, from the unkept and brown spotted grass surrounding the entire development to the uneven sidewalks. We were told to take their virtual tour and given the number of the apartment that was for rent. We head over to the apartment and find debris, doogie poop bag and empty cans in the stairwell directly across from the apartment. Immediately, we knew that the development was not be kept up and therefore not worth the money that they were asking. It was awful!!!!
$4000 luxury apartment that looks like motel 6 when you move in. Mold in dishwasher, urine on the bathroom floor with pregnancy tests. Grime and oil on all kitchen cabinets. To then go back and forth with the maintenance manager for the past two months to fix little things he can’t keep his promise on doing. Then the best part is being told by the community manager that it should’ve taken 3-4 minutes to clean the kitchen instead of the 2 full days it did. “If it was an unlivable situation why did you stay”. Felt utterly disrespected and unprofessionalism in the office is crazy.
We lived in this complex for about two years, and it had the worst management ever. The biggest issue was safety—there were no security cameras or a doorman. Drug dealers frequently gathered in front of the building and at the far end of the complex, making it unsafe to even walk your dog. During our stay, we heard about multiple burglaries from neighbors and the police. If you check, you’ll see broken fences that allow unknown people to come and go freely, even in broad daylight. The walking paths and yard area are full of dog waste. Inconsiderate neighbors are one issue, but poor management is an even bigger one—they don’t clean the area at all. You end up paying far more than what you get.
