Such a fun place! It takes a minute for your eyes to adjust to the darkness, but after that the atmosphere is amazing. Quick service and the drinks were delicious; I think the Ti-Ki-Lime Pie is my new favorite.

Hands down the best bar in Wichita and probably the best bar I’ve been to! The atmosphere is perfect, you feel like you’re in a little tiki bar in Hawaii! Each drink is hand made and it’s worth the wait! The service is always great too! This place is such an amazing hidden gem!

This was my first time at this bar. And it was a great experience. It’s a cute little bar with fun drinks and a very chill atmosphere. I didn’t try the food as I had already eaten prior to arriving but the drinks were good and a fun time was had all around.

2nd time back, visiting the in-laws. Very nicely done Sezerac. Everyone was very happy with their drinks.

What a unique discovery in Wichita. Bartender provided a unique experience with Tiki cocktails in his repertoire, great conversation, and a welcoming environment.

This is exactly what wichita needs. As someone who has been to the islands ( Hawaii ) many times. Lava & tonic has captured the island feel in a way that make this a place feel like a get away. Even if it is only for a few hours... This is a must try.

Great atmosphere and yummy 😋 tropical drinks 🍹 Flaming 🔥cocktail was fun 🤩 Went at 4 pm on a Saturday with an infant in tow and the lighting and ambiance was perfect. Would be accommodating for a child with sensory issues as well 😌

This tiki-themed bar lounge is super cute-you really do feel like you’re in a beach bar instead of the middle of Kansas! It is nice that they require reservations so it was not over crowded. Our server was timely, helpful, and knew the menu well. Also it is a very clean place-which is unfortunately not all that common for bars! My only advice for the owners would be to put hooks in the unisex bathrooms-there is no place to set purses, coats, etc. while using the restrooms!

Fun atmosphere. Great place to go for a taste of Hawaii. Only serving a limited pizza menu — which mine was delicious. I had the one with mango. Fun surfer music in background. Drinks to match the ambiance. 😁😁😁

What a cool hidden gem! I really don’t want to leave a good review because then everyone will start going! lol! The drinks are so fun and each one is different. I love the head hunter! Chill and dim atmosphere and always great bartender. I haven’t eaten here yet but it’s in the list!

June, the awesome and knowledgeable mixologist on Sunday, can mix you a delicious cocktail, Tiki style or otherwise. Glassware rocks! Laid back and comfortable.

So fun! Definitely make a reservation expected to pay $12+ for your drink it is totally worth it! Mind the tikis on the menu for how strong the drinks will be

I was recently visiting Wichita and had the pleasure of going to Lava & Tonic. I’ve been to tiki bars in San Diego and all over Florida and they rank with the best of them! My sister had the Jalisco Headhunter and I had the Zombie. Both were delicious! Loved the drinks, loved the decor!

Hands down, my favorite drink spot in Wichita! It's so chill and comfortable. The atmosphere takes you to a tropical island, and the drinks take it a step farther. Can't go wrong with the Key Lime, Malaysian Pitbill (my favorite, tastes like a boozy milkshake) or really anything on the menu. Most drinks are $10+, but well worth it. There are decorative accents to each drink, and it takes them to the next level. Can't go wrong with Lava and Tonic! They also have snack trays and pizzas - try the Hawaiian hot sauce 😉

This place is like a hidden place behind dark doors but the inside is super cool. One of my besties went here and I only heard about this from her which was surprising, cuz it's a place with it's own vibe. Sandra, our server was the nicest and she even gave us suggestion when I asked. The strongest is supposed to be te zombie drink. The sweetest is shark bite and the moderate one is basic batch. From all those 3, I really liked the basic batch. Shark bite is crazy sweet. It's a small place so if you're going it'd be better to have a reservation before. Their atmosphere gives a whole tropical vibe including the music. They have a crazy amount of rums added to a few other things. That place is epic! Definitely would go again.

We went for date night and had the place to ourselves (disclaimer: we went on a weeknight, earlier in the evening - I'm sure it gets busier later on and on the weekends). I had a Singapore Sling, and it was fantastic! I can't remember which one my husband ordered, but he really liked it. The bartender was friendly and mixed our drinks quickly. Will definitely visit again sometime!

Ok, we love this place. No hard feelings. Incredible drinks and a great atmosphere keeps us coming back. But every single time we come in the servers act like everything is booked (usually 80% empty). If you DO reserve a seat.. you’ll get kicked out at the end of your reservation (which is 1 hour max typically) to the bar for some ghost people who never come. Again we genuinely love this place and hope it stays in Wichita forever, but we are just so confused about why this happens. We purposefully come here often and bring everyone who visits us here to share in the experience and bring the establishment more money because it’s never full. We want it to succeed! But why do they continue to not allow people to stay in the booths or at the tables for more than an hour at a time when there is clearly no one coming. I am just confused.

One of the best bars in Wichita. Ambience is phenomenal and the staff is super friendly and helpful. *Update September 2025: Still great after all these years. They have a newly updated menu with new drinks as well as the classics.

Had a girls night out for my friend's birthday, which was way long over due! We each had 1 to 3 drinks, each just as good of not better than the last. Very accommodating with the allergies we had amongst our group, and service was great. Would highly recommend for an appetizer/cocktails stop on a might out.

We've been here a few times and the drinks and service have always been great. We had reservations last week for a large group, celebrating my wife's birthday. We had a slight hold up and arrived about 45 minutes late. The staff was understanding and accommodated us. Everyone had a great time, the drinks were great and served quickly. I highly recommend the Malaysian Pitbull. The Pain Killer is also good.

Checked out this bar with friends during happy hour. What a hidden gem in Wichita! Such a fun atmosphere and drink menu! Will be recommending Lava & Tonic to many people! Can't wait to return!

Nice selection of themed cocktails. Really cool atmosphere. Drinks are strong and a bit pricey but worth it. Bartenders were very helpful and chatty.

A welcomrd surprise for the city of Wichita. We found this place after dinner on our last trip and it was excellent. Great island vibes and expertly crafted drinks. I have a pineapple allergy but the bartender made me a great drink which he assured me had no contamination of pineapple. We didn't have any of the food, but a couple we struck up a conversation with did, and said it was good. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Beautiful atmosphere, great drinks, a little bit stuffy for a place that sells drinks in a sharks head. Not so stuffy I wouldn't go here again and again.

Such a great vibe! Amazing drinks and theming. The snack platter was incredible to have while enjoying alcohol.

Had to try the tiki bar theme and add it to the books. Cool idea and concept! But just not visually overwhelmed or attracted to what the place has to offer... I like the shadows and dark theme but its to dark Inside cant really feel the vibe when its dark and gloomy. Lil lights hung up around were neat and again theme was cool just felt they could of done something to bring more a party beach tiki Hawaii vibe in. Like up beat better music playing light the bar up to attract not to feel depressed. Drinks were good and new to my taste buds but even they could of been upstaged a bit to get more of my attention. Bartender just seemed mediocre to me and the Mrs. We won't be back unless it somehow catches our attention in the future!

Bar is nicely decorated. No games just drinks. I ordered the shark bite and it was good but not great. It was also $16! Yikes this is not Huntington Beach. Overall nicely decorated but nothing special. Service was mediocre it's a slow night tonight and bartender did not entertain. It was our firsts night and no recommendations over did even check if we liked our drinks.

Came for my mother in laws birthday but were turned away due to the 21+ age limit (had our 2 little ones). I totally understand some bars/dining establishments have age limits. Wish it could’ve been mentioned on the main part of the site or under the reservations instead of having to dig and search under the FAQ. However, the staff were kind about it and the environment itself was unique and had a fun tropical vibe to it from what we saw

The last two times I have been there I’ve had horrible service. The first time my friends and I were waiting at the table for the waiter to bring back our credit cards and sign the receipts. The male host rudely asked us to leave as it had been two hours and our reservation was up. Keep in mind the next party for our seats wasn’t even there. Another time was when my friend and I went back to see if the service was any better. We were sat at a two seater table. We had been given the menus and were looking to see what we were going to order. The host came back to us and asked us to change tables. She moved us to a two chaired area where plants covered us from seeing anything. We promptly left. While the atmosphere is very cute and the drinks are delicious, they need to work on their service immensely..
