We got the hibachi chicken; it was delicious! I feel the prices are very reasonable. We had a great time. The chef was very entertaining and an excellent cook! It was fun watching the families with kids laughing with the chef! If you want to have fun and a great dinner, this is a place to go!
We love this place! Their food is always fresh and delicious and they have a great drink selection too. The lychee martini is a must! Their service is always fast and friendly! Owners James and Lisa make you feel like you're part of their family! Thank you for all you do!
This place is truly a gem. We felt so welcome and the food was fantastic. Perfect portions (my boyfriend got the hibachi) and the quality of the sushi/maki was amazing! The decor was also super cute, and we loved the music, we actually shazammed a couple songs :) Overall perfect experience, thank you so much :3
We found out about the place by accident but it was a beautiful day for a ride in a convertible so we decided to try Jo Jo's Hibachi & Sushi and we are both really glad we did. The quality of food was excellent and served Very Very hot but we sat at the Hibachi table so that is to be expected. And it was more than just good food it was the experience of watching a Professional Chef preparing your food. We Highly Recommend this restaurant for the outstanding food and the experience of watching them cook your food. I had the scallops and my wife had the filet...FANTASTIC FOOD and it was the tastiest Mai Tai since I was in Hawaii!
Loved the energy and the food! Fresh veggies, tender steak, and a fun hibachi show. Perfect for a night out for couples or families.
Fun service. My waitress was Tommy, she did a great job. I gave her a nice tip she was shocked and very grateful. Public message “ leave something for these waitress they really buss their butts to make sure we enjoy the food.
The food is delicious,Price is affordable. We always have a great time at this restaurant.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jojo Japanese Restaurant, and I can confidently say it’s a standout spot for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine in a welcoming, laid-back setting. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Japanese dishes, with a focus on sushi, sashimi, and teriyaki. I started with the miso soup, which was rich and flavorful, and the edamame, perfectly salted and fresh. For the main course, I went with the chef’s special sushi platter, which was beautifully presented with a mix of delicate nigiri and vibrant sashimi. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were clean and balanced. The rolls were expertly made with high-quality ingredients—each bite was a reminder of the care and craftsmanship that went into the dish. Jojo's ambiance strikes the right balance between casual and elegant. The interior is cozy with modern touches, and while it’s not overly flashy, it creates a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere perfect for a night out or a quiet meal. Service was attentive without being intrusive, with the staff offering recommendations and ensuring everything was to my liking. What truly sets Jojo apart is the attention to detail, from the perfectly cooked rice in the sushi to the unique sauces accompanying the dishes. You can tell the chefs are passionate about their craft, and it’s evident in every dish they serve. Overall, Jojo Japanese Restaurant delivers both in terms of quality and atmosphere. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or someone new to Japanese cuisine, Jojo offers a memorable dining experience that will likely have you returning for more. Highly recommended! Regular customer 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Great evening at this new place. Loved the open space and the love cooking in front of me and my family. I don't often eat seafood in the Midwest but the lobster and shrimp was outstanding. Big surprise for me. Looking forward to a return trip with my siblings and exploring more of the menu. Great sushi boat presentation.
The food and service are both great!! I will definitely come back with my family next time.
we had a reservation delay at Benihana and decided to call JoJo and see if they may fit us in. They had a space just for us and we headed to JOJO. It took us 15 minutes to get there, but it was worth everything single second. We had a good feeling just right after we entered. great tasty good , great service and highly recommended
There is no other restaurant that will get your moneys worth! Although the price seems pricey, the amount of food they served would definitely last me for days… The chef was amazing and entertaining, would come by again!
Drove by and finally they are open. Wonderful family experience. Different open feel to the place as the fans and sprinkler systems were counter top level. Kind and welcoming staff. Chef was interactive and entertaining. Good portions and took food home. Highly recommended.
The best Japanese hibachi steakhouse we've ever gone to.
Had NY steak with fried rice and veggies. Customers can get involve in the food preparation process (love it!). I would say it is the best Teppanyaki in Chicago! They also have great Sushi too. The price is fair and worth it. Will come next time!
We've been coming to Jojo's for sushi since they opened and have always been impressed by the variety of flavors and creativity in their offerings. Their starter appetizers are solid and very satisfying. And their specialty roles are adventurous and simply delicious. Never had one we didn't enjoy. The waitstaff is friendly and has many times recommended a roll that surpasses our expectations. Prices are a bit high, but competitive for the area and quality you are getting. Never tried the hibachi, but that section of the restaurant seems consistently filled with patrons -- a good sign. Highly recommend.
Delicious food, huge portions, super fun. This is our family’s favorite place! We probably go at least twice a month. They have great lychee martinis too!
We had a five star experience today over lunch! Large portions, good quality food. We got to know the owner while we were there great people.
The food was super tasty, and the portion size was huge! The owner is so so friendly and nice. Will definitely be going back.
Good food ...I was picking up an order on Valentines day so the place was jammed ...but the manager explained that he will get my food out asap ....good service and good food
Love this place and the new ownership. Food and service is so much better than before. We order quite a but for work and they know us by now. We put in for a pick up and they delivered it since we're so close. When a family owned place goes above and beyond it means a lot now a days. Thank you for everything!
We are regular at Jojo’s, James bought the place four months ago and we didn’t think it can get any better but somehow they made the place much better. Food is amazing, service is beyond 5 stars (Lisa is great and very helpful even with young kiddos)… always welcoming especially with our little one which can be very hectic. We usually get the filet mignon/shrimps and the seafood combination, we also tried the sushi lately and all was fantastic. Definitely beyond 5 star review, highly recommended for hibachi and family night out!
On a random Tuesday we decided to go back to Jojo’s. The new ownership is next level! James was great from the first to last moment, making sure our kids were having the best time. The new team was superb, checking in on us constantly. Our chef knew every trick in the book, and was very engaging, always keeping the kids’ eyes on him. Even the cleaning crew was engaging and kept the kids laughing. We’ve been to this restaurant numerous times, but the new owners have taken it a huge step up. Their hospitality is fantastic! If you’ve never been, or haven’t been since the change in ownership, you HAVE to check out Jojo’s!
We went to JoJo for a family dinner to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The chef who prepared our food was entertaining, and the food was a gastronomic feast for our taste buds. The portions were so generous that we had enough leftover food to last 2 days. I recommend Jojo as an excellent place to take clients, have a fun celebration, or even just to go out for a great meal. The only negative thing is I believe their prices are TOO LOW! 😃💕
My daughter wanted a gift certificate from Jojo's Willowbrook IL for her birthday and thought we'd try something from there. I ordered the vegetable fried rice and an order of spring rolls to go. The gentleman at the check in was very nice. He mentioned new management and how the food was improved and prices adjusted. The fried rice had large chunks of fresh veggies instead of tiny pieces, and the spring rolls were delicious. We will be going there for a sit-down dinner soon!
Under new management since I was there last. The food was all excellent. The Hibachi Chefs there are very entertaining. AND they just added noodles to every hibachi meal in addition to rice. Had enough for leftovers. The soup! I could drink a gallon of the soup! So good. Simple brother with mushrooms, but excellent. I ordered my steak Extra Rare and for the first time ever at an Hibachi place, it was done Extra Rare! So tasty. I gave a big tip because we had a great time there. I think they earned it! I'll be back at some point. It is a bit pricey, but its like dinner and a show.
Hostess/manager Lisa is the best! Five stars across the board. I thoroughly enjoy the new management. I highly recommend JoJo’s for lunch or dinner. Also a great place to entertain business clients. It’s located on the east side of Kingery Highway just north of 75th Street. Please give them a try. You will not be disappointed. Kenneth Barker
I can’t say enough about how much fun we had . There were 8 of us celebrating my daughter’s 30th birthday and they really went out of their way to make it so special and fun . The chef was very entertaining and had us all laughing. The food was fresh , and very flavorful and tasty . They told us about a takeout special that is smaller portions , we will have to try that next time .
Had a great experience here. The staff was very nice and the hibachi was a fun experience. The portion sizes were very large and they also gave just free appetizers since they recently changed management. Definitely recommend checking them out and supporting
We stopped in for lunch today for the first time and I couldn't be happier! The food was excellent, and the entire staff were so incredibly kind!! I had to he best time. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
We had a great experience at Jojos. We split the hibachi and the portions are huge and reasonably priced. Our daughter had the sushi which was fresh and delicious. Fun, lively atmosphere with entertaining hibachi chefs! We'll back soon. Thanks James!
Absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing and the waitress was super nice, very attentive and always checking on us. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the fried rice was insanely good. The staff were friendly, fast, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great vibes and the best hibachi spot I’ve been to in Chicagoland area!
Brand new ownership. Reasonable prices. My family used to eat at Ron's of Japan in downtown Chicago, where the prices were outrageous and you were forced to sit with other guests. JoJo's is reasonable. The food and drinks are great. So close to home. We went for our daughter's birthday and had a lot of fun. A nice, relaxing atmosphere. Please visit soon. You won't regret it.
Under new management and it shows! Fresh sushi, amazing japanese food, great service, and a totally new vibe. Jojo Sushi is officially back on my favorites list and better than ever! The new management has completely turned things around - from the fresh flavors to the friendly service, everything feels elevated. You can tell they truly care about quality and customer experience. So glad to have this gem thriving again!
Took my son for his birthday. Place is very nice. Live their decorations. The food was delicious and portions enormous so we had to take left overs home. And the staff was very nice and attentive. Definitely coming back again.
Under new management. Mai Thai drinks were much better. Service was excellent food was very good. I liked that they gave you a complimentary edamame appetizer. Will definitely go back soon!
Stopped through on a way to a conference. By far one of the best meals I've had in a while. Great atmosphere, phenomenal customer service, and delicious food. Could not recommend this place highly enough.
Ordered a hibachi bowl for pickup off the website. Food was prepared and ready on time. Food was tasty and hot. Try to steak hibachi bowl, upgrade to filet mignon and add the egg yolk sauce over the friend rice. trust me
Habichi is fantastic! Every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared. The sushi rolls were fresh, the tempura was crispy, and the staff made us feel very welcome. I’ll definitely come back again!
Jojo Japanese Hibachi & Sushi is simply wonderful. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and the service makes you feel taken care of right away. The hibachi experience is fun, engaging, and perfectly paced, and the food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The sushi is excellent, with great variety and quality, and everything we ordered was consistently delicious. You can tell there is care put into both the food and the overall experience. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommended for a great meal, a fun hibachi experience, or a relaxed dinner with friends and family.
I ordered a shrimp bowl and it was great as well as the veggie rolls. two thumbs up.
Food was very good. All staff were very friendly. Reduced stars because we waited over an hour to be seated and had a reservation. The shrimp was overcooked but everything else was delicious.
Clean and organized hibachi place. They have plenty of parking. It is a family owned place with hibachi and sushi seating. I would strongly suggest making reservations. They have multiple options on their menu, chicken, steak, shrimp, lobster and scallops etc. You can order individual proteins or do combination. Food is served with salad, soup, fried rice, noodles and vegetables. Portion size is excellent and you will have leftovers. I was not a huge fan of their egg yolk (golden sauce) did not feel fresh, other than that rest of the food was good. Expect to pay around $120 for a party of two with drinks and tip. Overall I would recommend this place if you are looking to stay local and don’t want to drive to some of the upscale hibachi places.
We came for diner but the Hipachi was fully reserved so we took a table. We ordered several types of sushi and it was goid. Miso soup was an average. The noodles were very oily. Overall, average experience but not worth the high cost.
I would like to rate it much higher because the food was really good but it lacked in service we had a 730 reservation and didn't eat until about 930 but if ur patient and dont mind waiting the food is better than most
As of today I'd give it a solid third place after Benihana and Wu's House. Hibachi soup was bland / watery and salad lettuce barely had any green. Improvement can easily be made there. The main course was a generous portion. The shrimp and teriyaki sauce were good, yakisoba had a proper flavor although a wee bit on the greasy side. Fried rice was ok, but needs some work. One thing we certainly didn't like is they did not accept the Clipp coupon we paid for, so we were essentially bait and switched into going out of our way to try this restaurant. If there was a sign, it was easy to miss. I suggest doubling up or using the Clipp logo. You cannot expect people to read every ounce of text on your doors. We are there to eat and talk, not solve a financial mystery. No warmth, no explanation, no apology, just coldly told us to get a refund for it. I understand now looking at the reviews, but to make it an issue between them and the customer VS them and the previous owner is probably not the best business practice for new customer acquisition & retention. I can tell they're running from this problem rather then facing it head on with open arms. Ambiance had some notable small town character. The large hibachi setup is interesting and I liked the energy in the room. Perhaps this was how to first original Benihana had it setup. I wish them the best, but we are not likely to go back or recommend it to friends & family. If they want to sustainably compete at this price point, I imagine they have some refinement to do.
The food wasn’t good or bad—just meh, even the specials. We arrived at 9 and left at 9:24, but the staff made us feel rushed despite the 9:30 closing time. No warmth, no check-ins, just a lackluster experience overall.
I bought a coupon from Clipped and was excited to try this place out, even drove 45 minutes to get there. When I arrived, it was still called Jo Jo Steak House. It wasn’t very busy, so I sat down and ordered. The food took forever to come out, and the waitress apologized, saying they didn’t have enough chefs. After another long wait, the food finally came — and to be fair, it was really good. When it came time to pay, they told me they no longer accept those coupons. I asked to speak with the manager, and he said the same thing — that they had a sign in the window. I checked, and there was no sign at the front door (I even took pictures). Overall, very disappointing. I won’t be going back.
Good sushi quality! Trying to be a fancy restaurant but it’s far away from that. No space on the tables at all table for four people can’t fit two. Way overpriced hibachi. Service very poor from entrance to leaving, pretty like every other Japanese/Chinese restaurant(nothing against the population, I love Chinese food). I felt like I was in a buffet. Not big choice of deserts. So don’t expect fried Oreo, ice cream... Update do your comment : Your level of arrogance is the same at the restaurant as it is in your comment. There is a picture update that shows that the fried ice cream is not on your menu. And by the way let me give you one star just because you are proud instead of taking someone's honest review.
We just moved to the area and was initially excited to try this restaurant. As foodies, we dine out regularly. A key indicator of having full availability on a Friday night should have alerted me to this not being a great restaurant. Service from the moment we walked through the door made us question staying. It was a disaster moving forward with one entrée being worse than the next. I drew the line after ordering the JoJo love boat. All of the sushi was discolored and didn't smell fresh. Took a few bites, spit it out and politely asked for the check. From the holes in the bench seat to the taped in menus, this was a clear indicator this restaurant is struggling and didn't ask for a refund. I hope we don't get sick... 11/01/2024 Edit: I assure you, this restaurant is no jewel. From previous reviews, my complaint seems to be a common theme amongst patrons.
