Krapil's Steakhouse & Patio

My wife and I went there on the 28th for our 12 year wedding anniversary. Jake was our server. He was super friendly super attentive and very informative when it came to the menu choices. My wife had the lobster and I had the 8 oz filet And everything was amazing and delicious and again Jake. Our server gave us the best dining experience we've ever had. Give that man a raise!

Awesome supper club feel. Great steaks and fish but lots of options from burgers, sandwiches to salads. We came off a Saturday night. The crowd is lively and the outdoor seating is festive and lively. Great place!

Stayed at the bar with Sharon, she's a delight. Drinks and food outstanding, reasonably priced. They have beautiful steaks and other high end meals, quite honestly we wanted pizza. It was great. Crispier crust they rolled out their new pull apart garlic bread, must try!!

Love this place for traditional good steak menu (has been here for a long time) that has many options we love to choose such as adding a lobster tail, or a topping on your steak such as blue cheese or other good options, bowl of mushrooms, with traditional table settings (tablecloths, water glasses, etc). If that’s not for you, there is an out-door seating area that is very popular and has live popular music on certain nights. It seems the trend in the summer is that younger crowd was outside and older crowd was inside (where it is air conditioned). All 4 of our steak dinners were good and the server told us where they got our steaks from which we are familiar with and know that place is a good place too. The girls at the bar were amazing! Attentive customer service! Filet Medallions cooked perfectly! Drinks and dessert were on point. If I lived here I would come all the time! Any review complaining about prices is not deserved. It's beens over 60years since they opened prices go up my drinks were beyond reasonably priced as was the food for the great quality.

What a fun atmosphere to enjoy live music and delicious food. We received great service from Kimberly. When we arrived at 8pm on Friday night, there were no tables available, but as soon as one became available, the bussers cleared up the table. The runner brought out our food efficiently. Beer list include our favorite and served in frosted glasses. The jalapeño margarita is spicy. Will come back soon.

An absolutely delightful experience. The food is excellent as well as the service. There's a reason why this place has been around so long and continues to be popular. Steaks are perfectly prepared, drinks are balanced correctly and desserts are decadently delicious. Service was top notch being both friendly and attentive.

This place is really great!!!! The food was very flavorful and the prices you can't beat. Relaxing atmosphere and great service!!! Also not like other steakhouses where I pay for everything separately. Entrees came with soup or salad and sides!!! If ykyk to definitely appreciate that!

Amazing experience at Kraplis ! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The service was outstanding — friendly, fast, and very welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, making it a perfect spot for family and friends. I truly enjoyed every moment and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

Love this place!!! The food was great, we had garlic scallops for an appetizer and two martinis, just wonderful. Sat outside by the fire, the atmosphere was amazing!

Wow! Scallops app w garlic butter is beyond your typical app. I'm trying to figure it out? Maybe cayenne, rosemary and parm?? Steak bites amazing! I'm all about the dips...gravy, BBQ and chimichuri as good as it gets. Gorgeous patio, we will def keep this spot on rotation.

Enjoyed the patio, fire and music. Prime rib and sautéed mushrooms were excellent. Waitress was very pleasant. Would go again.

We had the nicest ever server. She made our experience a 5 star. So accommodating, so kind and sweet. Due to her service we will return and ask for Lily. Highly recommend this server and restaurant.

The food is consistently excellent and our meal last night was no exception. Every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. One woman in our party has been ill and we were celebrating her birthday. I cannot compliment the staff enough for the compassion they showed towards her and her needs. Amazing people.

Drinks and service are top notch. Really enjoyed the perfectly cooked sliders and appreciated the no problem attitude to substitute sides. What was really lovely and unexpected was even though it was raining, enough outdoor covered space to still enjoy the amazing patio.

The food is Amazing! We sat out on the patio. Great atmosphere! The waitress was the Best! Very attentive! The recommendations she gave us were Very Good!! I will be going back very soon!

Heaven's hidden gem! Amazing atmosphere, excellent service, great high quality food. We sat at the bar and our fantastic bearded bar tender, forgot his name, served us calamari, walleye and ribs. All which were great !!! We would have stayed for dessert but the next shift,3pm, staff arrived and wowzer. The female bartenders perfume drove us out. Regardless all that was important counted . I only had a sandwich, prime rib, it was very good. The service is very professional. The whole place is open on this pleasant day, large sliding glass doors open up to a huge L shaped patio area seating. There's live entertainment on some nights on a big roofed stage. The house PA system has several speakers placed around for uniformed listening. It's not too load or disturbing to table conversation unless you plant yourself directly under a speaker maybe. There's other indoor rooms without the patio access for those wanting isolation from that during their dining. That will only have the usual clatter from other diners. My eating experience here is limited. The menu is big with many usuals for a prime steakhouse. My glimpses of the kitchen and it looked clean, spacious and efficient. Everybody did their jobs well including the entertainment that added to the experience. There's a huge open fireplace that will keep many warmed up on nights that get a bit chilly after sunset. There's also portable heaters around for the same. This night was very pleasant but they fired up the fireplace just in case a few skinny ppl needed it I guess and it added nicely to the ambiance. This place is a winner. Speaking of winners, there was a nice gathering of Cub fans watching them clinch their division on the many large screen TV's in the bar section.

Came for a funeral lunch...food was Delicious..sliced beef,roast chicken,pasta ,mashed real potatoes and grilled vegetables. Plain fare but really good..the salad was excellent and the home made ranch dressing was fabulous.. Service was excellent.

This place is huge with a great atmosphere on the loud & quite ends of the spectrum, the kind of establishments you only see In Texas. This place has a beautifully built outside patio with a fireplace and a stage for live entertainment on the West side. Right next to the patio area, they have an inside dining area with a beautiful sports bar, but is very loud in here. Both the patio area and the dining area next to it have hand made tables built out of big tree trunks, which is cool. I would not recommend the dining section by the West bar if you're on a romantic date, or not a fan of any place that is kind of loud. When they have big crowds it's hard to have a conversation without shouting at each other. Finally, on the East side they have another bar with three sectioned off rooms with white tablecloths draped over the tables and cloth napkins. The East side is super quite in contrast to the West side, this is where you want to be on a romantic date. Then later on move over to the stage side and catch some live entertainment. Most of the food here is fantastic. Especially their steaks, they are high quality cooked to perfection and very tender. The crab linguine, mash potatoe, artichoke soup were delicious. I was not a big fan of their calamari, it had way too many pickles and slices of deep fried breaded lemon and lots of lettuce underneath to give it the appearance of a big portion, but is not. To top it off it had a fishy smell to it. Their mixed drinks were phenomenal, our bar tender knew what he was doing. Their beer selection is not so great, if you're a craft beer connoisseur you will be disappointed. That's why we opted for mixed drinks. The service was hit or miss, our waitress can definitely use some more training so she can take her job more seriously and not disappear for most of time. I just don't think that at those prices, clients should have to settle for lukewarm soup, and have to get up from their table to go look for their waiter or waitress when they need something. I definitely will give them a second chance, but not a third one.

This place is great. First time here. I'm so happy that this place seated us before the rest of our party arrived. Which is very rare because most places want your whole entire party there so you can be seated.We ordered drinks and waited for the rest of party ordered a raspberry margarita it was great. Me and the hubby ordered the steak for 2 .The steak was amazingly perfect . Soup and and salad was delicious. I highly recommend it . Pricey is one way to put it but worth it.

Good quality food with large portion sizes. The staff was pleasant but seemed like they wanted us to leave. The outside atmosphere was much more inviting than inside.

My strawberry daiquiri and filet mignon sliders were delicious!

Very large outdoor seating area, great service, wonderful food. The blackened salmon was fabulous. Draft beer $4.50.

Food was a 8/10 We had 8oz filet, asparagus and cream of chicken soup. Asparagus was just ok rest of meal was very good. Filet medallions, mashed potatoes and cream of chicken soup. Got the Béarnaise sauce I didn’t care for, the rest was very good. Old Fashion was very watered down. We sat outside and live music atmosphere was great.

A real nice establishment that is close to home! The food was great and served in a timely manner. Make sure to get the pull apart garlic bread 🤤🤤. They have a huge outdoor area! It has a full service bar, huge fire pit and a stage for live band performances. Our server was just sweet n knowledgeable of the menu. Can't wait to go again! This time to enjoy the outdoor area

I would have gave it a five-star on the food. My baked potato was as hard as a rock when it came with my prime rib. The waitress immediately told me she would take it back but when I eat my prime rib I also like to enjoy a side or two with it. Did not want to wait for another one. But the atmosphere, service and food were phenomenal. Definitely go back.

Great place gor drinks and live music. Outdoor space is great. Much older crowd, but the staff is great. Food isn't 5 star but comfort food. They've been doing steak for a while.

So I have been going to Krapils for over 20 years. My family, over 60 years when it was called Mr Joes. Although restaurants make menu changes, Krapils is never for the better. In my opinion it’s always less. Smaller portions, fewer ingredients etc. Recently I have noticed some changes like the music has changed, the bathrooms do not feel clean… always wet floors, paper all over the place. Feels like a bathroom in a college town. There is just a different vibe. Of course the patio is still beautiful but something is off.

Get the Ceasar salad. The rest is a bust...expensive drinks..comfortable atmosphere. Oh yeah the music they play is pretty good as well.

Was having a great night. Drinks were excellent, server was fantastic... but they shut off the heater (we were on the patio) and I had to put my coat on and barely ate my food because it became cold fast. Really ruined the night for us. All customers matter - if a new party doesn't want the heater you should ask current parties seated nearby if they are ok with you shutting it off or sit the new party somewhere else.

I have not been to Krapil's Steak House since the mid 70's and the entire ambiance was excellent, along with the Waitress doing a very good job, but for a place known for their steaks, the 14 Oz. Aged Bone In Steak and it was as tough as shoe leather. The outdoor garden seating area was just awesomely beautiful though and I wish that someone was performing on their stage while we were there, because it looked like a very professional set-up.

Overall pretty disappointed for the amount we paid. We sat in the patio and we were given a new waiter and it was second day there. The steaks come with soup or salad. I had a soup and my wife had a salad. The soup is about 3 ounces in a tiny tea cup fashion and the salad was brown and wilted. The waiter was nowhere to be found so I had to search for him. It took forever to get the salad replaced and it arrived with the main meal. We had a surf and turf and a porterhouse 24oz. The steaks and lobster were miraculously great and no complaints there. By the ln, the other parties that were there must have been ultra drunk. We couldn't get the other patrons to stop bumping into our table or leaning against our table. It was the place to be for their conversations. Overall it was $191 for 2 steaks, a lobster tail with a bad experience. You can bet we'll never be back. They have cheap $12 sandwiches and cheap priced booze on the patio. This place is perfect for that. Free valet as well so that you dont have to walk to your car drunk. If you're looking for your money's worth on a steak, go elsewhere.

I wish I could post zero stars. Hostess was rude as soon as we walked in. Then get seated and 10 minutes sitting there no water or sense even acknowledge us. I can see why the place was half empty.

Went there 10/22/25 We received our salad and soup before our appetizers . The steaks were overcooked, the potatoes were cold and hard. Butter wouldn’t even melt. We questioned our waitress and what we believed was a manager to find out the cook was the only manager cuz they fired the manager. because they were under a new management company. They refused to comp anything and only offer to re make our food which would take another 30min while 2 of the 4 of us were already done. The food didn’t even taste like quality steak. The place went down hill and has high end prices with low end food. Use to frequent them back when the service and food was good. Posted on my fb I was there and had several ppl saying same thing about their recent visits. Demarco the cook told the staff he would only remake our food.guess his cooking skills and management skills are the same. I guess he has the mentality we were looking for something free.surprise wrong kind of ppl. You actually did a poor job. But we will be sure to let everyone we know go to Jenny’s steak house in willow springs instead. That’s the last $300. You will see of ours or our friends.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Krapils on 9/11/25 and were extremely disappointed. We had clearly agreed on a $500 bar tab limit and a setup with beers and seltzers in bins to help control costs — none of this was communicated to staff the day of the event. Instead, we were told to pay the full balance and were later offered a $200 gift card, which doesn’t begin to make up for the mistake. We’ve called multiple times with no response. Very unprofessional and frustrating experience for what should’ve been a special evening for us!

I went here for the first time after several people I know gave excellent reviews. Not so much with my wife and I. We were excited about going, made reservations, and went two days later. This dinner was celebrating my 59th birthday which was actually on Monday 9/08/25. Our table was #9. Do not get this table if you go here, it is a high traffic route to patio. We were in bar area, even though I reserved patio. I ordered a 12 oz filet medium rare. I got an 8 oz filet medium. I'm being charged $61.00 for the 12oz, so I would like what im paying for. The brussel sprouts were cold, and dry. They took my steak back, gave me the right size, and cooked it rare. My wife ordered a blueberry drink she loved, until the second one came and tasted like seltzer. So, I'm counting 5 issues so far until I got the bill of $130.00 , which wasn't an issue, the issue was on receipt of suggested tip for 20% would be $39.37. which is 30%. 20% of $130.00 is $26.00. I gave the server $30.00.6 issues with my Birthday dinner. Our server, Paul was very good , and the best part of the dinner. Issues: 1) wrong table area 2)wrong size filet 3)wrong temperature 4)cold brussel sprouts 5)2nd wrong temperature 6) high traffic to patio 7)bad drink mix 8)tip suggestion was 10% Higher than 20% post. Loved atmosphere, will not be returning with this many issues. I guess I will have to go somewhere else to celebrate my birthday.

My family and I visited Krapil’s on 12/30/2025 for my father’s birthday. We had a party of 27 people and were only assigned one waitress… (poor management decision). JENNIFER was the waitress that took care of our tables. Most of the party received their food in an orderly fashion but there was a full table that was neglected. Never did we treat Jennifer poorly, if anything we were very understanding because we were a big party but at the end of the day management should have stepped up and helped!!! We then continued to wait 2 hours to receive our food that was extremely over cooked!! Reservations were at 6:30 pm and we did not receive our food till 9:21 pm!!!!!! She did let us know that the “kitchen” messed up our order but did not ask if she could accommodate us with anything. Once we got our steaks, everything was poorly cooked! Steaks were completely charred from the outside and dry on the inside (We all asked for medium rare). She then proceeded to serve us our meat with an attitude and clearly not happy. Once again never did we say anything and we were extremely understanding. When we asked to see the dessert menu we were told it was too late since the kitchen closed at 9 pm. Again, we were nevwr informed, considering we didn’t receive our food till 9:21 pm. When we insisted that we would not pay for the food that was brought out extremely Late and poorly cooked, Jennifer had the audacity to argue back and have the worst hospitality possible. And of course Krapil’s automatically included the gratuity on the bill. Jennifer still walked away with a $350 tip when the quality of her service wasn’t anywhere worth that. Very unfortunate to have had this experience here.
