The food and folks will cheer you right up. The location is downtown surrounded by shops for a nice walk afterward.

Nice little spot for coffee, breakfast items and some lovely pastries (bonus - icecream as well). There's a good collection of gifts too, for anyone interested. Great vibe within the store.

This place is a real winner!! A quaint little cafe in a cute downtown shopping area with HEART!! Each visit to this cafe is a delightful experience, leaving us with a sense of appreciation. The food, always fresh and piping hot, is a testament to the chef's skill, and the reasonable prices make it a great value for money. As a family-owned establishment, the cafe upholds the tradition of respecting and valuing its customers. The thick bacon, creamy gravy, and biscuits will keep you coming back for more. But they are only open through lunch, so don't be late! :-) Add this place to your list... it's a winner!

Downtown Wylie is the perfect place for breakfast! We’ve lived here for 16 years and have never gotten tired of Ballard Street Cafe, if anything we simply love it more with time. It’s family owned and currently open breakfast and lunch. Both menus have many delicious options! This morning we sat at the bar for breakfast about 9a on a Sunday with no wait. My partner ordered the blue plate special, 2 eggs and fried bologna, and I had the Mexicali scramble, we shared 4 sausage links. Everything was delicious. My partner commented he was surprised by how thick the fried bologna was and that it exceeded his expectations, he also had wheat toast and hash browns and in his words, an extraordinarily large glass of orange juice. My Mexicali scramble was amazing! Easily one of my favorite breakfast meals anywhere! It is several eggs scrambled with slices of grilled onion, jalapeños, tomato, and ground sausage, covered in cheese and served with 3 toasty tortillas. The dish also came with crispy hash browns and I added white toast. The toast was buttery and they had four flavors of butter available - grape, strawberry, mixed, and apple butter. My first bite and I was just like oh my gosh this is so good, despite having eaten it many times in the past. The serving staff is awesome and gets to know their regulars. The owners are compassionate and really invested in. the customer experience. Prices are more than reasonable. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a yummy breakfast for the family, a morning date, or a work meeting.

We really enjoyed our first visit. The diner was very busy at 9 am on Sunday, so we sat at the bar. We visited with friendly diners who gave great recommendations! Chicken fried steak and hashbrowns with gravy were a fave, and we loved them too.

Really really good service. This is not gourmet by any means but it is good. It's like your grandma's kitchen cooking. I will go back. I want to try more things. It is basic food at really good prices. I had fried bologna because well... not sure if I'll ever have the chance to have a fried bologna sandwich. It was good but the sides.... the sides were so yummy. Black eye peas and REAL mashed potatoes. The place was clean and the service was the BEST EVER. I can not Express how nice it was to not have one single complaint about anything. I will go back...

A decent restaurant in downtown Wylie. I have only been during breakfast and the food was good. The service was good as well with really, no delays in service. I have heard rumors that their hamburgers are outstanding. Once I try one, I will be sure to update my review.

Nice little brunch spot in old Wylie Texas. For the price, you get a great amount of food. I got a ham egg and cheese omelet and it came with grits and a short stack of pancakes. Food was delicious

Located in Wylie’s cute historic downtown area, this charming cafe has decent food at affordable prices and decent portion sizes. It was recommended to us by a friend and I am glad that I had an occasion to dine there.

We went at lunch time, but I had chicken fried steak and eggs. My eggs where cooked to my liking. My husband got the chicken and dressing lunch special. It was served cold and dry. My husband is not one to complain so he just ate it. There seemed to be a lot of waitstaff, but several dishes came up at the same time, so I am sure his sat in the window longer than mine. The servers all kept busy, which is good to see since nowadays no one “wants to work”. I love that they serve breakfast all day! I would recommend breakfast if you are passing through like we where.

This place is definitely an amazing gem of downtown wylie. From the service to the ambience, everything has love in it. We love coming here for breakfast or brunch whenever we can! We’ve tried a lot of their breakfast like the steak and eggs, country fried steak with eggs, the two egg platter, French toast. All of these are served with variety of sides to choose from. We’ve also had the regular menu like the patty melt sandwich, chicken fried chicken, chicken ranchero. We love getting their gumbo and onion rings as sides! Those are so good!

Really delicious food. Our total today came out a little over 43 for 2 adults and 2 kids. We ordered a kids meal with 2 corn dogs. (One was a little over cooked so he did not want it.) And some fries. A big boy which was the full pound burger with 2 patties. It also came with fries. And I ordered the full breakfast plate with turkey sausages, hash browns, one egg over easy, and a couple biscuits with gravy. My infant had a side of mashed potatoes. For dessert, 2 chocolate pies. The hash browns were a little bland. Got cold fast. I liked the gravy. The egg was cooked well. My 3 year old son ate an entire corn dog and he rarely ever eats the whole thing. My infant loved the mashed potatoes, cleaned the plate too. Everyone loved the pies. They're a little on the sweet side, but definitely should try them regardless. I tried the beef off my roommates burger and it was flavorful and juicy. The fries were nice and hot. I like the fact that they made room for us and allowed us to park our stroller in the room off to the side so my son could eat with us. And the incorporated crayons and coloring pages for my other son. The waitress was really sweet and attentive. It felt very homey and comfortable there despite the mass crowd. Will definitely come again to try something else.
