Lovely birthday lunch here today for my husband! From the moment we arrived it felt very welcoming and relaxed, it was fairly busy but the lovely waitresses were helpful and attentive and the meals arrived promptly. There is such a big variety to chose from with lots of homemade specials. My husband had the rib eye steak cooked perfectly and two of us chose from the 2 course specials menu which was fantastic value! We are looking forward to visiting again.. my new favourite place to eat!

Great location, ample parking with wide bays. From walking through the door to leaving, the team were fantastic. Explained about our rooms and any questions we may have. The rooms are comfy and clean with comfortable beds and an excellent shower. The food is amazing. I told the waitresses that I'm celiac and the team really made me comfortable with an allergen menu and pointing out the ingredients in items on the menu. Breakfast is also excellent (I've never eaten so much good food in such a short space of time), with a good variety and, again gluten free and vegan options to cater for all. Finally big thanks to Charlotte for lending me phone charger during my stay. Highly recommend dining and/or staying here. Will definetly return.

I go to Yeovil to visit and this is always the first place I stop for a drink. This is a local pub, small hotel, and a stunning artistry of foods that are a feast to look at and better to eat. The UK is full of great pubs, but this hits home for it's fairytale like charm and the warm friendly atmosphere. The staff treat you like family and being from the USA, they are so eager to accommodate. I love it here. They had Christmas decorations which was a lovely surprise.

My partner and I went for afternoon tea, and Tina and Charlene served us; they were very friendly. The food was delicious! We also loved the place, with its several rooms, cozy lit chimineas, live music, and spectacular decor featuring artwork and taxidermy heads on the walls. It's an amazing place!

My family and I have visited the Pen Mill in our home town of Yeovil on a number of occasions and the food and service are always outstanding. The staff are caring and will bend over backwards to help you. This week I was celebrating a graduation and my wife celebrating her birthday and when we arrived at the pub with my parents they had not only left us a card each on our table from all the staff but three members of staff also came out with a birthday cake to sing to my wife. I absolutely cannot fault this place. Highly recommended - you will not have a bad meal. Probably the most consistent pub in Yeovil for quality. (Oh, and the carvery is still the best I’ve ever eaten)! The only thing I cannot comment on are the rooms as I’ve never stayed in the accommodation as I live in Yeovil anyway.

All the staff are polite and attentive. Justin is a fabulous chap and put on a great buffet for my father’s celebration. Carvery is always a treat. Puts a lot of places to shame. 👍🏻.

Had our wedding reception here January 1984. And returned for a lunch with friends, who were at our wedding, over 41 years later. The lunchtime deal looked really good, and we were very satisfied with our choice. Would highly recommend a visit and I am sure we will be returning in the near future. Great food, cheerful and friendly service.

We booked on for one night as my partner was having an operation. The staff were amazing so helpful and kind . Happy smiley faces excellent service. Lovely comfy bed clean room and great breakfast. A big thank you to all of you .

I can’t comment on the Hotel as we only stopped for food but wow! Four very happy customers. We had a selection of food and puddings from their lunch menu and enjoyed everything about their food. From the presentation and the fast, friendly service to the quality and taste of the food. Excellent value for money and we are already planning on returning to take advantage of your extensive menu. Wow what a fantastic hotel/pub. Stayed for 2 nights as a break in a journey to Cornwall. Room very comfortable, spotless and spacious. Beds very comfortable. Fan provided and even a hot water bottle for cooler nights. Tea and coffee topped up each day. Breakfast had plenty of choice. We had the full Somerset brekkie, beautiful food. Ate evening meal both nights. Excellent carvery. My only comment would be how huge the portions were and felt guilty for not clearing my plate. Staff so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Had a large party booked in. Staff were very accommodating with any changes prior to our booking and super friendly when we arrived. Food was lovely. Service was great! Thank you very much

I didn't stay here but the food was top quality and very reasonable price too. Plus huge portions and delicious. It was great because my two collies were welcome. I plan to stay here next time l visit the area. All staff are so friendly and genuine.

Went with family for a Sunday carvery, was busy but the servers were great, didn't seem phased at all. Carvery was really well cooked (roast potatoes were a little hard but no big deal) Great service, great food great staff. Couldn't wish for any more.

Got off the train at Pen Mill Station, called a taxi but had to wait. So me and the dog went for a pint. Lovely friendly place.

The food and staffing are amazing. Bed and rooms are very comfortable. Felt like sleeping in my own bed. And lots of parking, which is always a win in Yeovil. Deffo be staying there again next time I am down

Today we celebrated our Silver wedding Anniversary today, with a three coarse meal., The service was fantastic and polite. The meal was brilliant and served promptly hen asked. Receiving a signed card from all the staff at the Penmill Hotel was the icing on the cake so to speak and made it a truly memorable day for my wife and myself.

Lovely meal, coeliac in the group catered for with no issue or complaint. Birthday boy received a card from the staff, who were all attentive without hovering. House cider also very nice! Looking forward to returning in future

We didn't stay, we only had a meal but this was absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff with a prompt service. It was very busy so make sure you book your table. Very pleased will come back again.

The pub is located on the main road with plenty of parking spaces nearby. We went to have dinner to celebrate my birthday and we were pleased with our choice. They've prepared a birthday card on the table for me. The food was delicious , we can definitely recommend the burgers and the sweet potato fries. Excellent choice in Yeovil!

Visiting family from New Zealand. Heard this place was good to eat. Booked a table for last night, kids menu was great and my children enjoyed the food. Adults meals, cocktails and wine all very good, generous portions. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful. Well oiled machine indeed. Thank you ☺️

Very nice hotel and restaurant, with super lovely staff. Food was good and excellent choice, including at breakfast. Rooms comfortable and quiet, even though the property is on a noisy main road. Would return without question.

Met some friends for an evening meal (we all had the carvery option on a Sunday). Great service, especially with staff ensuring our dog was OK. Definitely would return and would like to choose other dishes from the menu

Stayed here this weekend what a wonderful hotel . Easy to find Extremely pleasant staff Room very nice and clean with great extras . Food fantastic. Very good value for money Will definitely recommend and will be revisiting . Sally and Richard Westerman

My Partner booked a Birthday lunch at the Penmill Hotel, the service and food was excellent, I even got a Birthday card from the staff!!.

Stopped for carvery by chance after shopping, and the staff were very helpful. They fitted us In last minute. Carvery was the best we've had in a long time. Very hot and cooked to perfection . A wide selection and all well presented . The staff were very friendly . Will definitely be back . Thank you K and M 😀

I visited for a Sunday carvery with my family and from the moment we stepped through the front door everything was spot on. The service is impeccable and the food superb. What made the service extra special was that my mother was sadly unable to be there at the last minute, however the Pen Mill staff were amazing and arranged a takeway caevery meal plated up even with a pot of gravy. We took it back home and my mother was extremely grateful. A brilliant piece of customer service which was the cherry on an already delicious cake. Well done to everyone.

I met a friend there for lunch and she is celiac, gf and a vegy. The service was fantastic; fast, efficient and friendly! The food was lovely and I'd recommend the key lime pie.... def all home made and delicious. And loads of choice for my friends dietary requirements and obviously adhered to as she's not been ill and is extremely affected even through cross contamination so well done!

Enjoyed staying here for a couple of days. Lovely staff and a very popular restaurant with great food. Comfortable room with a big bathroom.

So I went to Pen Mill Hotel with my family since it was my Dads Birthday. We knew how expensive the restaurant was but we wanted to celebrate! We then got seated and started off with the drinks. They were quite nice. We looked through the options on the menu and I got a steak burger. When it arrived, it looked quite nice. You may be thinking why didn’t I put a 5 star review then? Well, the place was quite noisy with people yelling and we couldn’t communicate properly. However, the staff were extremely nice and gave a birthday cake to someone whilst singing happy birthday. Quite nice. We would’ve got a birthday cake if we said it was our dad’s birthday but that’s fine! 2 birthday cakes would be hard. Overall, this restaurant is nice and I recommend going here. But if you’re looking for a cheap and under budget restaurant, there is a McDonald’s round the corner. :D

First time here, went for the carvery. Food was good, so much choice of vegetables. Only criticism was we were sat near the carvery and people were queuing up so close to our table and the noise levels were very high. They need to monitor this as to respect the diners who are eating. Very friendly staff.

Food was delicious as always, our group of 4 had the carvery. It was let down by the fact that the facilities/buildings were not kept up to a good standard. Mould on the ceilings and walls as well as damp

Lovely welcoming staff, abundant, freshly cooked carvery. Sometimes you take pot luck with a carvery at the end of the day. No such issuss here. Liquor coffees were excellent.

Tried the restaurant at Pen Mill Hotel, the service was consistently good throughout, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food offerings were decent, and they also have a kids’ menu, which is a nice touch for families.

Stayed here 2 nights for a work trip. The room was fine, if a little dated, but had everything you need a was comfortable. The staff were really friendly and happy to chat to you. The menu was really nice with plenty of choice, my colleagues really enjoyed their meals but I found my chicken a little tough but was still ok. The breakfast was nice and freshly cooked with plenty of choice. It’s situated right next to the train station and just a short walk to the town. I would definitely stay here again.

Didn't book a room at the hotel but the bar area is fantastic. Great food and kind, attentive staff. Many thanks for a lovely meal.

I've been before and had some nice meals here. This time, I went for a lunchtime meet-up with friends. It was disappointing that nearly everything on the snack menu involved some sort of cheese! There was more choice, without cheese, on the lunchtime menu but I didn't want a large meal. £1 Extra for a GF roll seems a bit much too.

Carvery..have had better here tbh but still good

On a business trip. Food is nice and staff helpful. The room 4 No air con open the window and you get traffic all night. The mattress on the bed is the worst I’ve ever slept on well no sleep No iron in the room I should have slept in the car it would have been better. I come regular to the area but will prefer the Premier Inn to these rooms

Went for carvery today and it was not good at all. I chose turkey but it was tough and hard to cut. Maybe because blunt knives were to blame! Potatoes too hard cdnt cut them . No green veg only peas. Very disappointing meal. Cauliflower cheese full of water as it had come frozen not nice. Will not go there again for a carvery. Never worth £18.00. Disgusting. Left most of it. They should have given a refund!

Had a day out with friends starting here and spending a lot of money behind the bar. On returning from Weymouth we were refused entry as we had returned using the last train?! We were not drunk or rowdy and had not been singled out, this is a rule that the landlord has in place. Very disappointing and will not spend another penny here again.
