Was Kunden über La Popular Bakery sagen
La Popular Bakery is known for its delicious and authentic Mexican burritos, especially the carne guisada and picadillo breakfast burritos. While many rave about the food and service, some recent reviews mention declining quality, small portions, and rude service. Expect long lines but a generally positive experience.

Tip: The drive-thru can be long, but a staff member may come out to take orders to speed things up. Be sure to try the salsa!

Great food great place with great people. Hot chicks too
The breakfast tacos and burritos are amazing.
Great staff.great food.faster service if you go inside..tamales are great. the beans are heaven..and out of all the Mexican restaurants here in Abilene that serve barbecue..theirs are the best ones
Excellent food at amazing prices. Best burritos in Abilene. So much flavor, and again the prices are great!
Fast and delicious every tome. I like all locations and really like the breakfast Burritos.
Best location in Abilene the workers are amazing ,friendly, and hard at work!! They need a raise in pay!! Thank y'all for your services .... 04/12/25 still the best place in town!!
Best fresh burritos in town! Everything, every burrito food selection made fresh daily! Well worth waiting the long lines that's why they're called Popular Burritos!
Delicious 😋 way to start your day!! Sometimes a long line, but it moves fast!! So worth the wait! My favorite location is on S. 1st St.!! But they are all great!!
Good attitudes fast service 👏 and awesome food 😋 I always do drive through
Always great burritos !!
Love the fresh lemonade, the burritos are good.. love that the tortillas are home made, one of my families favorite places to go.
I can eat here everyday it's always so good the tortillas are to die for!
The food was delicious, the only thing my son didn't like was the banana drink, but other than that, everything was so good.
Decent pricing, always busy, which is a good sign. I’ve always come here and although the wait is long, it’s definitely worth it!!
The food was great and the service was excellent and I would love to go back anytime
Food is great as always, it's just overwhelming with all the people that are inside and outside ordering food/waiting for food.
It's a great place to get some breakfast or lunch. Had lunch there today. It was great 👍
Just a drive-thru burrito shack but they have some of the best food around.
THE BEST BAR BARBARCOA TACOS & THE BEST PORK TAMALES... next to my homemade ones!!! 👍😋🌮🌯🫔
Still the best burritos I have EVER had. Especially for the price! The atmosphere isn’t really a selling point though. We used to get drive through and enjoy our food at home or at the park.
The food is amazing. You may have to wait since it’s usually pretty busy, but it’s worth it—the line moves at a decent pace.
Lines are lengthy for a reason. It’s so good. Tortilla, eggs, bacon, potato, and cheese. The salsa is addicting. Love going here, and wish they had one in Dallas.
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent location! All the staff are hard working people and polite as well. Highly recommended!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great food great service!! Best there is!!
I usually stop here when visiting Abilene. My favs are the Carne guisada breakfast burrito and the picadillo breakfast burrito. I wish we had one of these in Ft Worth where I live. The drive thru line was pretty long. A lady came out and started taking orders from the cars in line. That made the line go pretty quick.
Came an got 2 burritos. One carne con chile and chichurron burrito. They were supurb. The chichurron was hot but delcious an the con chilie was good. They guys always do good. Like always coming back an tasting their delicious food they make.

Absolutely beautiful. Would wait an hour if it took that long... no wonder yalls place is the best place in Abilene for authentic Mexican cuisine and traditional mexican foods. Every dish is A 1 and the staff is absolutely amazing and care about their products. Thank You so much and bask well in the glow of being Loved & Appreciated

The food is delicious at a good price!
Burritos are good but they keep getting smaller and the prices jeep going up
The perfect quick duo large lemonade and egg & potato burrito.... Superb The lemonade is thirst quenching eliteness. The burrito is not too heavy like most places breakfast items and filling.
The food is the star here. The tortillas are made fresh. The burritos are delicious and often have specials. The staff seems happy and friendly. The inside is like small dinner feel. Most patrons seem to just use drive thru (which moves at a decent speed) or come in, order, and go. If you want awesome burritos, this is the place.

They don't have a reliable schedule for food served but the burritos are decent. Could do with less thick of a tortilla. Also the cherry lemonade is similar to sonics, not too refreshing.
Good but I think the burritos are shrinking more each time I get them. Been going to other burrito shops more often.
They used to be the best, but I'm not sure whats going on here lately, but I haven't been very impressed the past few times we've gotten burritos in the AM. It's a hit and miss kinda thing.. but the old school LA pops on Arnold Blvd makes them amazing like the way LA popular used to be. .
The burritos were fairly good. But the hot sauce was a little runny and didn't hardly have any taste to it and it was not even hot..No kick to it. I have tasted better. But the service was fairly good I waited probably 4 to 6min.. To receive my order..

Didn't pay their taxes, got shut down. Win some, you lose the rest.
Food is good. The customer service it's what makes this place thrash.
This place has gone downhill over the years. Twenty years ago I would've sworn this was the best place to get breakfast tacos in Abilene, but now it's the last place I would go. The tacos (burritos) are small, lack any flavor, and overpriced. I will gladly pay well for food, that is worth it. I was disappointed that my go to place was closed for maintenance so I settled on La Popular, and what a big disappointment that was. The food was like a child's serving for a gourmet price, and the salsa was lacking in flavor. For this place with popularity came arrogance, and with arrogance came a drop in quality. The service, however, was excellent.
I have a problem with places that don't offer you a restroom to wash your hands. I think the health department should pressure them to offer a place to wash your hands. I think it's pretty important to wash your hands before you eat.

The food is ok but the service is lousy. The lady with the pink hair is married to the owners son and she is the luckiest person alive!!! Because if she wouldn't have married him, today she would not be able to have a job!!!! Nor would she be able to keep a job. I really really feel sorry for her employes that have to work and look at her all day. She is very rude she is very ugly because of her facial presentation, you bother her when you place your order and if she was to smile her face would break. The burritos are ok but she makes it known that "YOU ARE VERY LUCKY THAT SHE ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO EAT FROM THERE "
gave me the wrong order and there was a dark hair in my food. this place is the worst of all the locations.
Absolutely awful every time I go there the ladies inside are rude. The last several times I went the food was soggy. Today I tried to go get a Horchata and the lady said they were closed even though she gave the customers in front of me food and drinks. I went at 2 when they close at 3! Terrible business to buy from!
Asked for 3 papas and chorizo and ended up with nothing that i asked for. It shouldn’t be that hard to get the correct burritos to a customer. Especially asking what i had wanted. Crazy. Never again.
Bad service and food !! My husband got sick
I came to your establishment and bought 3 Burritos with sausage, potatoes, eggs. I drive from breckenridge tx every day. When i got home yesterday morning. I realized that the burritos were wrong. I tried calling and couldn’t get threw so i left a message. No one returned my call. So i called the following day to the restaurant and talked to a young lady and she said there was nothing she could do about it because i didn’t bring the burritos back. I also talked to the manager/owner and he said he wouldn’t be doing anything about it. So i told him he just lost a customer. We work to hard to be roped off by burrito shop! I explained that i am not from Abilene and still no compensation.
Order was wrong and burritos are little compared to other local places. Also bland as can be.

$6 for two tiny mini burritos is ridiculous ,even though outside they advertise it at $2.50,it wouldn't have been a problem but they were so small I ate them in 3 bites .. The filling was just ground beef with cumin and the other one was just beef stew without the vegetables, I think even McDonalds has better choices!
i understand needing to raise prices, but making the burritos smaller and worse quality seems unnecessary. lady in the drive thru was very rude, told us the total and walked away as we tried to hang her the card and a tip. basically dismissed us and slammed the window after she handed us the food without saying a word. i got a lemonade which tasted just like water with a lemon dropped in it, no sugar or anything. our burritos were good but much smaller than they used to be. horrible customer service and she wore the same gloves that she used to take the money! decent food but won’t be returning to any la pop any time soon.
Burrito? No. Taquito. These burritos used to be the best. Authentic flavor, great service and home made tortillas. At least the tiny tortillas are still homemade. I get that the economy is crashing, and you have to raise prices to stay above water. But that’s no excuse for the burritos getting smaller and smaller throughout the years. At this point save you money and go get a single slice of toast. You’ll have more food that any burrito la popular serves.
Place got very greedy. Burritos are small and nasty. Staff will handle money then your burritos with same gloves. So many other places in Abilene to get better, bigger burritos, don't trust the hype around this place.
2nd times I've found hair in my food and they wanted to say no one has short hair.. my wife has coily 4c hair and im blonde. It was straight brown hair -.-...
