Can't complain,... the food was top notch, absolutely wonderful, the wait staff was super friendly, and the service was surprisingly fast considering they were packed... would I go back, or recommend it to friends? Absolutely!
Great family run business. Good food and service every time we go there.
We're from out of town driving through and decided to stop. It was good, authentic Mexican, not typical TexMex. Chicken Enchiladas didn't have sour cream sauce, so I ordered it with questions. My husband ordered cheese Enchiladas with two Sunnyside up eggs. He complimented the cook on the eggs. The rice and beans were good. We went during lunch, they were packed, but the service was good. I would go back again.
Very good food and priced right. Friendly staff and owner. Fajita nachos and enchiladas are fantastic. Sauce bit hot but very good. Tea is dark and tastes great. One of our fVorites.
Staff were friendly. Fast service. Sweet tea is good. The food was good and hot. I got the combination plate bc I wanted to try a little bit everything. Hubby got flauta plate he said it was good. Prices are very reasonable. We’ll be back.
Went there today for lunch with my friend. Waitress was nice and attentive. Place was clean. Its family owned, which is nice to see. My mom used to take me here years ago, so I decided to show my friend just how good the food was. Prices were fair. They have lunch specials. Try it if you haven't had a chance. Hot sauce was delicious. Nachos. Tostado. Enchiladas. Cheese dip. Waters. Less than $30.
Great people, great Salsa and the best cheese enchilada plate in the known universe! My wife and I travel a lot and we love Mexican food, we always hit up Monterreys first thing when we return home for a plate of enchiladas! Oh, and anyone that can make beans taste SO GOOD is an artist in the kitchen. If you love Arminta’s in San Angelo or Joe T’s in Ft Worth then you will love this place!!!
Their food was really great! But the service was really slow....
Went with some coworkers. Had to get up and ask for menus after like 10 minutes. The food was okay at best. The server was friendly but was full of excuses. I might go back but it's not a place I would recommend. I do not wish them the best as I am a supporter of local businesses.
I ordered the beef fajita nachos with a pineapple soda. Paid almost $13. That was a lot of food. I ate half of what I got. Food was okay. I may come back later in the week to try a breakfast taco.
The wife and I were driving through Abilene on our way back to Dallas and stopped here for dinner. When I go to a true dine-in restaurant, I expect the food to taste better than a Fast Food drive through. Unfortunately this was not my experience. It started with the chips and queso. Chips were off. They were on the thick side, harder, and darker as if over cooked. Queso tasted like the can it probably came out of. It had zero flavor. Red salsa wasn't bad though. I had a combo platter with a Tamal, chicken enchilada, hard taco, and chili relleno and my wife had the chicken chimichanga plate. The flavor of everything was just bland. It all blended together. Even eating the taco first, the bottom had already gone soft and lost it's crunch. The Chicken Enchilada was dry chicken inside a rubbery corn tortilla under the same tasteless queso. The Tamal and Relleno were slightly better as they had some actual cheese over the top. All 3 were pretty small...about the size of a hot dog. The Chimichanga was weird. It was fried with the sour cream and pico de gallo on the inside rather than offered on the top or the side. The chicken was sparse and definitely not the primary flavor or ingredient as you would expect. The rice, was ok..but again, lacking in any distinctive flavor. There was also an excessive amount of shredded lettuce on the plate...presumably to cover up bare spots. It didn't really have any function other than to hold a small dollop of guacamole. The staff were all friendly and nice, and mostly engaged. The place was older, but clean and presentable. Tables were not crowded together. It took our server a long time to bring our check as she was standing and talking to another table about some of her family drama for about 10-12 minutes. Prices were fairly reasonable, especially when the food size was as small as it was. The food just left us both unsatisfied, wishing we had driven through Taco Bueno or Taco Cabana, or decided to do Italian instead.
The food is not as good as it was. Cold food, tasteless food. It's sad it was always delicious but not so much now.
Walked in at 10:40am asked if they still serve breakfast. First time there i Waited 5mins to get my order taken. Waited till 11:24am . Waitress never came by or my order. Can't say if the food is good. I can say the service is bad..
I was dissatisfied with this food even my queen didn't like it.... Needed more seasoning honestly the cheese dip was bad 😕 it was missing the love(flavor) that brings food out. For it being family owned it wasn't authentic...
I hadn't been to this place in over 20 years. I read the reviews to see if it was still a good place to eat. Needless to say, the reviews fooled me. We had breakfast and the tortillas are not homemade. They had a sweet taste just like the ones you buy on the bread aisle at the grocery store. When you pride yourself on Mexican food, the tortillas must be freshly made. The beans tasted like canned refried beans. Also the salsa on the huevos rancheros tasted a bit sweet. These reviews that say this food is "authentic" need to taste the beans and tortillas again. They definitely are not authentic. I will say the service was great, but unfortunately, I will not be back.
Used to be THE RESTAURANT to go to for Mexican food. Changed the chips, and now they're thick and very hard. Chicken was rock hard and not fajitas style, more like pot stickers. Replacement was not as hard, but still not fajitas. Very chewy shell on the taco Salad, rubbery like it was microwaved. The waitress was new, but very rude. Grabbed my plate and yanked it out in front of me with such force some food fell off. I didn't even ask for a replacement salad just some fresh chicken to throw on it.
