Excellent happy hour...skillful bartenders who know their craft.

Go early to get a patio table. The drinks were very well made (and heavy on the booze). Ordered a pizza from a nearby place and made all the other patrons jealous.

Beautiful bar downstairs, and an awesome rooftop - chill atmosphere and surprisingly not impossible to find a seat outside.

Bloody great. Outside patio is sensational, wish I’ve come here more. Drinks standard prices, but yummy.

Great drinks and the vibe is unlike anything else in NYC. Can be hard to find seating during popular times so go early

Cozy neighborhood bar with quaint and cozy interior and solid craft cocktails. Bartenders are very friendly.

Vibes. Incense burning when we walked in. Fun cocktails. Sick roof. Weird but cool, old timey wire cage around the bar.

OMG! I loved this bar! I went to see two really good friends there and I can't wait to go back. I loved how the light were Cozy and comfortable. No sunglasses tonight ahah. Big plus! The DJ was amazing, playing chill music that I loved! Thank you Peter and Night Of Joy! I had the surprise to meet the super nice women that owns this amazing place! I can t wait for more parties there, the space is so beautiful I don't think you are ready. The tile floor like carpets, the beaded lamps all over the space! Really someone paid attention to what they wanted and it shows. People were relaxed and nice, without being oreoy upscale it was nice! All you want in a bar ! Meet you next time for a drink;

Melissa was fantastic! Went out with a group of 3 old friends and was immediately greeted and taken care of. She handled a full bar, imcluding my party, with grace and totally badassery. Cocktails were dope. A definite must try. Comfy, inviting and cozy decor to boot!

Cool cocktail bar in Brooklyn. I only had a few beers. The place was pretty big and had nice vibes (not bright inside). I can't speak for the cocktails, but I'd come back if I was in the area.

Great place for a group of friends or a date! The roof is great, especially during the summer. Drinks are ok, very light alcohol.

Night of Joy is an excellent bar. The ground floor is full of cozy places to sit and chat. The upper floor is an inviting roof deck. The cocktails are inventive and tasty.

I am writing this review for their happy hour. One of the best deals I have come across in NYC! The drinks are so great! Fun roof deck too

Stop hunting for the best bar in Brooklyn cause you found it. This is the most aptly named bar in the city. The decor is cozy, quiet, and comfortable. The staff is amazing and the dj (the night I was there) was on point. I always thought the term “mixologist” sounded like a pretentious synonym for bartender but this bar changed my mind. The mulled wine and cocktails were mixologized to perfection.

A flashback to many time periods. For me 1920s elegant avant- garde parties and with a garden roof patio to bask in steamy summer nights. Dainty cocktails and sevillano lights create the an atmosphere that holds you.

S

Brilliant ambiance and a gorgeous rooftop patio. Cocktails on the sweet side, too sweet for me but they can make other classic cocktails to order.

V
Valerie “Lambert” Kroll

Perfect example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover - the outside of this place is rough looking, but the inside is so cozy and cute! The candlelit bar with mirrored back was super warm and inviting. The rooftop area is super nice in warm weather.

A great affordable cocktail bar in Williamsburg. It’s been a weekend staple of mine since I moved here three years ago. The crowd is on the younger side and friendly. The downstairs has a nice warm ambience and the rooftop is an excellent choice for warmer months. Try the mezcal cocktail, it’s my favorite!

A

One of my most visited bars when I first moved to the neighborhood! Conveniently near the L or the G so it's pretty easy to make your friends come over. They have a great cocktail selection, and organic wines too. The vibe is always pretty good (good music, not too loud), but can get busy on the weekends. Highly recommend the roof over the summer, and they open another bar up there. Overall a great spot.

Great drinks, I had the rosemary whiskey drink. It had a vintage vibe inside and a very nice rooftop patio. I went on a Sunday night for a sat and it wasn’t packed which was perfect for a first date. Highly text for good vibes and good drinks. Drinks are pricy keep in mind.

The interior has grandma vibes (in the best way) and the cocktails are unique and excellent. The crowd is laid back and varies from about age 21-35. Went with friends but would definitely go back for a date night. The low light and cute ambiance make it very romantic. Love this place!

M
Mags Curry

Probably the coolest rooftop bar I have ever been to. Even the interior is so cool. They have some of the best happy hour specials I have ever seen. $7 for a specialty margarita? Um, yes please! The outdoor seating is so beautiful, being around all the plants was a nice touch! Will be coming back the next time I am in Brooklyn for sure.

One of my favorite bars in Williamsburg. Downstairs has quiet ambiance yet the main attraction is the rooftop. Very well lit and energetic. The drinks are decently priced and taste fantastic. Love night of joy!

Super cool place with the most unique bar. The bar is like a cage. The low lights and incense in the air make this a great date spot. Thers is a list of cocktails and a full bar. .I just went in for a quick drink before dinner..Definitely going back soon.

It's been a few years since we last came here. My all time favorite drink is the cilantro bloody mary and I'm so glad they still had it on the menu! Really like the uniqueness of this place. I took a picture the last time we were here for my Google Maps and it's one of my top photos.

This place has the look of a grandma’s living room, but the feel of a good time. Great place for dates and meeting friends for a good night out. More of a stopover sort of spot. Lovely staff, excellent drinks, and the rooftop patio is a delight for nice spring, summer, and fall evenings.

M

I used to live a few blocks from this bar and had many great happy hours, nights out with friends, and dates here. The cocktails are top notch and the vibe/decor is perfect. My wife and I had our first date here and they were kind enough to send a picture of their cocktail sign to my wife as an anniversary gift for me. We look at it and remember fondly all the great nights at nite of joy

Great cocktail bar with awesome decoration inside and a lovely outdoor terrace.

Fun place for a rooftop happy hour. Specialty cocktails are $7 until 8. The roof is cash only. It got crowded pretty fast on a Friday evening in August, but the cheap drinks and summery atmosphere made it worth the squeeze.

Great date spot! Fun vintage ambiance. Amazing cocktails. Might be good to avoid on weekends because it's often VERY crowded. But Night of Joy is always a good choice

This bar is the perfect vibe. The first floor is dark and cozy, with some couches and nice little tables, but the real gem is the roof. It’s huge with lots of seating, there’s twinkly lights, and there’s even a bar up there for ordering. 10/10 love it so much.

Overall rating: 4.8 1 drink: $18.88 w/ tip I came here on a whim after going to a very pretentious bar & a terrible date. So happy I stumbled here because it was exactly what I needed. I came late and just came for cocktail & it was really dark. The service was friendly and I enjoyed the vibe of the place. I don’t have many pictures but will definitely be putting this place on favorites if I’m in the area again. I also love how dimly lit it is! Highly recommend.

Great bar ! The atmosphere is amazing and full of history. I went there quite early, around 6pm, but there were some people. I had a great time just seating and enjoying my cocktail. The service and the staff were great as well. I will definitely come back ! Especially for the rooftop terrace.

Night of Joy is the kind of bar you stumble into once and immediately want to keep as your little secret. The ambiance is effortlessly chill, with dim lighting, vintage decor, and just the right amount of buzz to keep the night interesting. The cocktails are creative yet unpretentious, and the rooftop is a perfect escape when the weather allows.

Vibe inside is the lighting of a cocktail bar with the look of neighborhood watering hole. Excellent Bloody Mary and a good spot to grab an early drink but got crowded and a bit too loud for me as the night went on

This place is super cool, very chill vibes. The bartender came to me at the speed of light and made my drink in seconds. This was surprisingly such great service. Would definitely go back any time! For a Friday night it was not busy at all, I was able to grab some seats and chill. The drink was excellent! The basil lime vodka if you like citrus is yummy!

I photographed an intimate wedding here and fell in love with how cute and romantic this place is. The couple had their ceremony on the rooftop and celebrated with their guests downstairs. It's such a cute little romantic spot to host a chic party or celebration with intimate lighting, delicious pretty cocktails and a fun outdoor space.

One of the best cocktail bars in Williamsburg! If you go on a weeknight, it’s usually quiet and a great spot for a date (lovely interior and a dimly lit room with candles on each table downstairs). If you go on a Friday / Saturday night, the atmosphere is much more vibrant and it gets crowded. The rooftop is awesome and I’ve yet to order a cocktail at Night Of Joy that I don’t like :)

Authentic cocktails and atmosphere! I have been to this bar a couple of times and was so excited to learn that they’ve opened their rooftop bar during the quarantine. They have social distance measure in place so everyone can feel safe and enjoy great drinks and a good time. Can’t wait to go back! The staff is amazing and super helpful, they actually care. I’m sad I can’t remember the name of the woman who greeted us and explained all the measures they were taking to keep their customers safe she was awesome. Be prepared to pay an additional amount for a Cuomo cheese sandwich haha! (So they stay in compliance with local law to stay open)

Great bar with loads of seating, drink options, and a unique atmosphere. The bartenders were mostly nice and accommodating, but it did take a little while to get their attention, then a little while longer to actually get the drinks. The patrons are all pretty nice and civil (no one was billigerantly drunk or obnoxious). The music was just right and varied nicely throughout the night. We'll be back soon! 👌🏼💯

R

A joyous night indeed. Although it feels like you're in an alcoholic fuelled version of the hunger games - fighting to aquire a table and chairs on their cozy rooftop - the cheap happy hour and friendly staff more than make up for your inability to be a boozy Katniss Everdeen. Didn't win any tables upstairs? Slink away and go indoors for a nice night, your failure still tastes good when it's paired with a $7 frozen Marg in hand.

K

Cute place, nice vibes. They didn't have non alcohol drinks but accommodated me with a virgin cocktail. A bit too loud but sometimes music was ok

J

Hip place with chic men and women. If you're a self-aware elitist with high expectations for your social life you will love this place. The rooftop is great in the summertime. It's only 4 stars because you can't always do the roof.

S
Sara Wass

Nice cocktails but a dive-y feel. Cute roof open in warmer months. Definitely a place to go with groups of friends rather than to meet people.

J
Jomar rodriguez

Really cool spot with lovely decoration and nice music. The upstairs patio is really cool. Im giving it 4 stars just because I'm not too crazy about their booze selection. No Woodford Reserve!? No rum Diplomatico!? No Macallan!? Other than that I'm opinion the spot is as good as it gets.

L
Laura Schwartz

I think the vibe of the place was summed up best by my old roommate - “it’s like we stepped into Anthropologie at night.” It was a very quaint space - much larger than I had anticipated - with carefully selected decor very similar to the “antique” decor you would buy at Anthropologie. But hey, I really liked it - well minus the weird bird cage in the front - that was just kind of strange. There’s even a pool table in the back. The atmosphere is very laid back, with handwritten menus featuring their infused liquors. I opted for the beet and dill infused vodka which was INCREDIBLE. Having sat with the beets and dill for days the liquor had taken on both the red coloring and sweetness of the beets - it was basically a natural mixer. Down a couple of those and you are good to go for the night. Their specialty cocktails will run you $9 each but I assure you it’s money well spent! They also have a great rooftop for the warmer months but we warned - it gets packed!

Imagine if your grandmother's house was turned into a bar, it would be Night of Joy. There happy hour runs late, and there's a sweet patio upstairs. Seems like they've got a regular lineup of DJ's as well. Only thing I couldn't get behind was the weird musk inside. I didn't notice it on prior visits, so maybe it was an off night.

Nice little bar in Williamsburg. I highly recommend this place for dates. Cozy atmosphere with nice lighting. Roof access is great for the summer especially with their bar up there as well.

I have stopped by this park a few times while on my way to or from the NY Blood Center. It is also across the street from Memorial Sloane Kettering. For the most part, you'll find locals here, either parents, or nannies, with children, or employees from the local hospitals having lunch. Generally, it is a nice place to stop by. The kids seem to enjoy the playground, and there are plenty of benches. However, there is no real draw here (great views, greenery, etc.), unlike Central Park or other parks in the city. Also, it also isn't really an oasis away from the sounds of the city, as you can hear the sounds of traffic on 1st Avenue. However, if you want to take a break from a walk, or if you're a local who wants to take your kids out for an hour or two, it's a decent place.

Night of Joy has such a great atmosphere! Sadly the roof has been closed both times I went (not sure why), but I hear that is absolutely amazing. The interior has such a great vibe going (Brooklyn vintage hipster). The drinks are awesome as well, I can't remember what I had (oops), but I definitely remember everything being awesome... The only negative part is that the place can get very crowded since the venue is pretty small - be careful with your drinks when walking back from the bar, navigating a sea of people while not spilling alcohol after having already drank a bunch can be very difficult. Also, the bouncer always seems to randomly take seats and move them. Make sure you have a friend watching over them when you leave to the bar/restroom so they can tell him the seats are being used :)

B
Bianca Rodrigues

Went here for my birthday, and had a drink on their rooftop. Their cocktails are very strong, and made really well. I don't love the crowd here, a little too much of a "Brooklyn/Williamsburg scene", but it's a fun neighborhood hang.

A
Avinash Salgam (Avi)

Not a ton of space offered at this venue but great to come by for a drink or two. The rugs give it a very middle eastern vibe.

C
Christopher Neal

Walked straight upstairs and was really confused at how this place came to be known as a "rooftop bar" (it's really just a small patio with cool lights but no view at all) but this place had its own charm. The Happy Hour here is nice and cheap-I really appreciate that it includes their signature cocktails marked down. Definitely more chill and down-to-earth than most rooftop bars in Manhattan, so come here with an open mind and come early to take advantage of the happy hour and relatively smaller crowd.

A
Anthony Montalbano

Great cocktails! There's a rooftop bar as well which if you can get a seat is great for cool nights with friends. Unfortunately at the downstairs bar there was a nasty smell all around. I was sitting and waiting for friends and had to find somewhere else to sit and wait. Others waiting around noticed and made mention as well.

Night of Joy has a dark, old-school vibe. In the winter, the outdoor seating is not available, but on a weekday, we had no trouble grabbing a seat indoors. Prices are not on display for any drinks, but the price range is between $7 for canned/bottled drinks and $13 for cocktails. The bartender was also super friendly!

J
Jeannette Arrowood

dear night of joy, i want to love you, and i do on week nights when you're not absolutely jam packed. i think i'm getting old and i no longer enjoy a crowd. and can we talk about your DISGUSTING margaritas upstairs? seriously. i make them better than that i have never and will never be a bartender because i always get it wrong. i could've mixed something out of a bottle better than what you served. and $8? you can keep it. :( your gimlet downstairs the night before (thursday) was, however, delicious, even though it was also pricey. it was at least worth my money!

The spot itself would be a full 5: lovely, and go check the rooftop. Service, specially at the bars downstairs, it's terrible. If you are hungry, omelette are nothing out of this world, but they do their jo

B

This used to be a great spot! It probably still is but its unfortunately extremely busy these days and exceedingly difficult to get a seat or a drink. They have a great upstairs patio.

A
Amanda Wells

The $9 cocktails are tiny. Miniscule. The decor of this pace is cool, very nice. Tiled floor, grand central-esque ceiling, twinkly candle light, antique mirrors everywhere. Rooftop is spacious until the very hipster crowd crowds the place (bout 10 on weekends) with their skinny jeans, attitude and cigs. Definitely try to visit Night of Joy on a weekday when not so overcome by the herds of hipstamatics. Note: no food on the menu

L
Lauren McMullen

If you’re not fully vaccinated they’ve turned the indoor/ downstairs area into an area for the “unvaccinated” which felt incredibly weird and unwelcoming. Has anyone encountered this elsewhere?? Forcing unvaccinated people together in their own area? I’ll be fully vaccinated soon but probably won’t come back here.

K
Kristel Rod

Cute bar. Long wait to get to the basic rooftop. After waiting for 20 minutes we were finally let up to a rooftop with tons of open space. The bartender on the rooftop was a rude woman. She refused to make us drinks bc she heard one person say they didnt have cash. Just because one person doesnt have cash doesnt mean the rest of us didnt.

L
Lamarr Hawkins

I read about this place in a Top 10 rooftop bars in Williamsburg article so I went to check it out. I got there early on a Saturday night. Around 7 and a crowd was starting to form. Something makes me want to believe that this wasn't the only early rush this place has ever seen because there was only one bartender for both the main bar downstairs and the roof part. Whenever I wanted a drink or even to close out my tab I had to wait in a 15-20 minute line. Ridiculous. Don't get me wrong the bartender was great and friendly and the drinks were strong and delicious so I'm not blaming her. The management just needs to hire enough staff to have 2-3 bartenders on a busy Saturday night or I'm not going back. No matter how inexpensive and delicious the drinks were there's no need for a 20 minute line at the bar.

S

Fun atmosphere and busy. Cocktails could be better but heard happy hour is where it’s at. the dill + beet vodka was not it unless you’re a huge fan of dill, beet, and vodka. You’ll taste all the flavors of each in that order.

The atmosphere was pretty and service was great but I did not like the cocktails here (perhaps it was a off day idk).

S
Steven Nichols

Sure - the decor at this place is swanky and the rooftop is great, but the service was really subpar during my visit. The place was empty and I stood at the bar for 2 or 3 minutes waiting for the bartender to finish her conversation, with her periodically making eye contact just to let me know her negligence was totally intentional. Douché. making eye contact jst fonket

M
Mubin

Very basic drinks, loud and Pricy. Can be hard to find a seat depending on the time, not many options close by so this spot just get a lot of traffic. Would not recommend.

T
Teresa Zapata

The prices were not in the menu to start with. The system of writing the order in a paper is ok, but then our waiter confused the papers or something and then got mad at us. They will bring you bagels with your drink because they have too, we understood they were free, since there was no choice, it turned out they were 4 dollars. No music in the rooftop.

L
Lucas Carpinello

This place would be a 5 if it wasn’t for the service. Went here several months ago and the bartender downstairs was rude to everyone who ordered before us (impatient, unwilling to explain the happy hour). I did not add a tip onto my $4 beer (after tipping several times before) to which she scowled and yelled “gee thanks man!”. I’d give her the benefit of the doubt and just say that she was having a bad day. Upside of the story: everyone on the roof bonded over how rude “that blonde bartender” was, which was a great conversation starter. One of the better rooftop bars in Williamsburg for the great ambiance and friendly crowd.

R
Raphael Gueulet

This place is really nice and cosy but honnestly the staff has to improve a lot. Went there yesterday night and the bartender (a blond girl) seamed really annoyed because we ordered for half pint. So what’s the issue here? Is she going to be paid less because we only ordered half pint ? Or is it rude in New York to order a half pint ? In Europe this is really not a problem. So don’t be rude and at the worst, next time tell the customer it is not possible to order this.

W
Wai King Wong

Bartending service was better downstairs than up on the patio. Drinks were ok. Not a destination place. Happy hour is $6 all cocktails. They don't really tell you what particular drinks are on happy hour unless you ask. Frozen drinks served downstairs not on patio but you can bring it up. People tend to space themselves out in patio seating.

J
Juliette Carreiro

Great vibe, but only 1 bartender & someone who stood behind her and didn’t do anything. Feels like at a minimum, he could’ve taken the check responsibility

Boyan Kukov

Came here for a birthday party and the atmosphere of the bar is great but the drinks are laughably weak. I wouldn’t be upset about it if the cocktails didn’t cost almost $20. I was there with 30+ people and multiple at the birthday at some point commented about how weak even the speciality cocktails were. Really liked the way the place looked but it made me feel stupid to spend $60 on 3 cocktails that tasted like flavored ice. Ended up getting a beer at the end so i could drink something that wasn’t watered down. Super disappointing.

L

previously: 2 lavender gin cocktails during happy hour, $6 each, total $12. now: 2 lavender gin cocktails and bagel they insist you also buy (per cuomo’s rules which we understand), $16 each, total $32. we were stunned when the bartender mentioned the total. not sure if the drinks went up $10 each or they’re charging $10 per bagel?! either way, it’s absurd. I wish I had known before going, so posting this so others know what to expect. rooftop is fine, but we won’t be returning as they’re actually considerably more expensive than other nicer bars in the area now (for teeeeny tiny 7oz plastic cups filled mostly with ice, BTW). hostess was also incredibly rude upon entry - wish we had left right then & there.

The margaritas here are absolutely tragic to the point that they might make you sick a negroni is okay but only if I was in a remote town that needs balto to run me some meds alongside the campari And the vibe is fun, so it is quite tragic that the basic drinks are $18.5/e before tip and taste worse than almost every other establishment in town

We had a birthday party planned there. A space for 25 on the rooftop was booked weeks before, although when we arrived only 2 tiny tables had been reserved for us. Mistakes can happen you think? Shortly after we arrived another bigger group arrived, they also had booked.. and had something like 3 tables allocated. Guys, if you don’t want to have big groups coming just do not accept booking for groups!! It’s very frustrating, especially since the rooftop itself looked quite cool.

You'll get a bagel with cream cheese with your drink as the law mandates them to offer a snack with the drink. Here's what I didn't like. The service. They could be alot more welcoming. The bagel they offer with your drink is stale with bland cream cheese. Not even toasted or warm lol. I think offering butter as a substitute should be a better option but that wasn't offered to me so I didn't even ask for it. I didn't like the vibe so I will not be returning.

Pointlessly rude. Avoid. I politely asked a question (about the why there was a wooden cage separating the bartenders from the guests) to the woman bartender working Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at night. She said it was a replacement following the covid plastic partitioning. To which I asked an obvious follow-up, "why replace with this fencing after taking down the plastic barrier?". Never having seen something like this, at least since gone-long-ago punk rock venues, and thinking it curious, I just asked, no biggie, right? She uttered the most classic hipster scoff and eye roll I think I've received since the first time I heard the punchline from "how many hipsters does it take to change a lightbulb" joke. She turned to walk away barely muttering "menus on the wall". Wow, it seemed like it might be a good place... But, pardon me for taking a such a tiny interest in your [very slow] spot (two patrons at the bar and about three full tables). Why in the world would anyone then proceed to ask for a drink from such a snotty individual as this? Professionally, it could have been an easy connect [read: good tip catalyst] for most any semi-personable bartender to respond with a simple "I don't know" or "well, fun story", but I guess just not this one. I moved on; plenty of really great (and friendly) spots to get a drink at in Brooklyn.

A while back, I was here with a group of friends for a birthday. I'm a cocktail nerd, and I snuck in a small thermos of a special homemade cocktail (using very expensive and somewhat rare ingredients) I made to share with the birthday girl and a few others. Now I'm fully aware that this is not allowed in bars, and a business has every right to forbid it, or to tell me to leave if they caught me. And I would comply with any such demands. But that would be very stupid on the part of the business. Just because I sneak something in, doesn't mean that I won't be spending money there. In fact I pretty much always spend more at a bar than most of my friends, and usually tip the most as well, and this night would have been no different. Anyway shortly after I arrived, and I think I had already even ordered my first drink, I very discretely poured some of my homemade cocktail into an empty glass for a friend, and I think some for myself as well. But not discretely enough, apparently one of the servers / bartenders / owners had seen, and after standing uncomfortably close to me for a long and tense time while making faux friendly talk with my friends and I, she quietly said to me "I'm on to you" in a creepy, scolding, and triumphant way, before confiscating my friends mostly-full glass.. Again, they have every right to do it, and I'm sure this lady was very proud of herself for 'catching' me trying to do something thoughtful for my friends.. Something which would have cost their business absolutely nothing, if anything my friends would have likely had a better time and spent more money.. I certainly was planning to buy at least several drinks there, and I mostly drink cocktails. Instead I think I bought one, and didn't stay long, because I was so put off by their needlessly confrontational, hostile, and condescending attitude. It's possible to be technically right but still be obnoxious, or to be technically wrong but still polite and considerate, and I hope intelligent people can understand that.. They lost a customer that night, and permanently. Usually when I go out, half of my friends buy nothing, or get one beer, but I always make a point to spend money to support the establishment, because I realize that we are taking up valuable space. If I ever do bring something in, I'm even more conscientious about buying something and tipping well. This lady either isn't very bright, is very simple minded and shortsighted, or she cares more about asserting her ego than running a profitable business. And this is pure speculation, but based on her attitude, I'm guessing that this isn't just sn employee, but an owner or management. Anyway this incident was over a year ago, and I've been in countless bars since then, but this really stands out as one of most off-putting experiences I've ever had, it certainly ruined that night for me. I don't plan on ever returning, and if I do somehow end up there, I will spend as little as possible out of spite. There was a nice way they could have handled it. She could have simply told me that that she saw what was happening, they can't allow it, and told me to keep the thermos in my bag and that if I took it out again, she'd have to ask me to leave. Or if she wanted to play cop, she could have monitored the table before confronting me, and then she would have quickly realized that I was spending more than anyone else at the table, and that other people in the group were also still buying drinks. That would have been the smart way. Again sure they have the right, and I have the right to spend my money at establishments where the staff and management are pleasant, respectful, and don't have a chip on their shoulder, an ego to feed, or something to prove..

BEWARE: Drinks are great but the bartenders are running a scam. I went on a friday night and ordered a gin and tonic. It was $12, i asked to start a tab, the bartender told me "no tabs" and handed my card back. 30 minutes later i go and buy a beer, it is $7. I go to pay with my card and the bartender says "$10 dollar minimum". I explained i had asked to open a tab and had i opened a tab i would be at $19 fullfiling the minimum. The bartender gave me a dirty look and told me they would "give me a pass" Let me clarify i have no issue with a $10 minimum OR no tabs, but that combo is BS and clearly there as a way to take advantage of drunk people.
