I choose Piacere for my birthday dinner, during my vacation trip. In one word; this place was PERFECTION. Perfect food, music, staff. Eddie, our server, was fantastic, he helped me with a special request. Everything was absolutely delicious. We got meatballs, seafood spaghetti, rugula salad with pear, diavola pizza (Yes we eat a lot :P) and the chocolate soufflé for dessert! I will continue posting my boyfriend happy face in those reviews. We can’t wait to come back! It
They just got their liquor license and have the best cocktails. Their spicy margaritas were great. Food was delicious and staff was friendly. Will def be back!
Had one of the best dinners ever in NYC. Great food, super cozy environment. A bit loud at times, but that’s NYC 🤷🏻♂️😂 Had a mortadela pizza, as well as the carbonara pizzas. Great experience. ❤️
I’m an Italian and grew up in Italy. I was struggling to find an authentic Italian place in NY with the quality of food like I would have back home. I found it here. If you want to have an authentic, great quality food and see how it’s done in the best places in Italy, this is your spot! Go and you won’t regret it! Pizza con la Nutella is definitely a plus 😂
Casual and wonderful Italian food, drinks, music and atmosphere. Staff was friendly, helpful, attentive and truly a pleasure to have attend to us. Highly recommend!
Eddie was our server and was phenomenal 👏👏. Best gluten free crust that I’ve ever had and have had celiac since 2009… 10/10
My friends and I come here all the time. Everything is delicious!! I think it’s one of the most underrated Italian restaurants in NYC. The staff is so warm and welcoming. The food is delicious. We got pizzas, pastas and the meatballs + desserts. The wine is delicious and a well curated menu. Thank you Piacere Team!!
We <3 Marco. Pasta and pizza are amazing. Friendly and fast service. Front row seat to Andrèas making the delicious pizza pies.
Quaint, authentic italian establishment with welcoming friendly staff. We made a resveration but then also called and were told they don't really use the Resy reservations so I wouldnt recommend using it as your seats are still not guaranteed. We had an 8:15 res but were given bar seats when we got there.. they said we could wait for a table but then communal seating was the only avail, so we stayed at the bar. Other than that everything was great! Marco at the bar was very kind and accommodating. The food was clearly very genuine, fresh pies and delicious pasta/sauce. Recommend for sure.
it was the perfect place. we were recommended to come here by our hotel for a drink, and we didn’t expect how at home we would feel. Eddy was absolutely lovely. He connects with everybody and is an amazing manager. thank you eddy!
The best gluten free pizza and pasta i have ever eaten, The atmosphere perfect and the interior is perfectly executeted , and fitts the vibe. The owner has a passion for his work and you can really feel it throughout the establishment.
Eddy was super great and made us a custom drink. It was great, had gin, pineapple, cherry, rosemary, and orange juice. Supposedly it’ll be called the “vampire lady”, so ask for it :) Food was pretty good, some unique pizzas available. It’s a bit pricey, but if you appreciate authentic Italian, this is the place.
We spent our last night in NYC at Marcello's Restaurant Piacere. You can hardly find a more generous host. Extraordinary food, exceptional hospitality, cool music from the 60s - simply the best place to be. Thanks, Marcello and your team. You made our last day so special! Emely & Oliver from Frankfurt (Germany)
We came here on a whim last night with 3 adults and 3 teenagers. We were absolutely blown away! They made us feel like family from the second we walked in the door. The food is incredibly fresh and authentic, and everyone was extremely happy with their order. Service was great and they helped us with all questions. This place and dinner will forever be one of our favorite memories in nyc!!
This is an authentic Italian ten years established. The food was brilliant and portioned perfectly. We had 3 pizza’s all of which made with 100% organic ingredients (they don’t advertise this!) which were cooked on a real wood fire with a lovely flavour. My wife ate a Rigatoni pasta which was cooked perfectly al dente and beautifully seasoned. The meat and cheese selection to start was perfect. However the Kalema Red (Primavino Sale to 2011) was the star of the show. This wine made everything more tasteful 👌
This place is absolutely fantastic! The pasta is really delicious, the food overall is amazing, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The service is brilliant — friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this Italian restaurant if you’re looking for great food and a lovely dining experience!
Loved my experience at Piacere! The atmosphere, service and food were amazing! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in until we left! Definitely coming back!
5 star experience all around. Everything was fantastic here from the ambiance, to the service, and most importantly the food. Every dish that we ate here was amazing, but the stars of the show were definitely the pizza and the Papardelle con ragout di cinghiale. 10/10. Friendly staff, great service. Definitely recommended.
Such a great time! Went with a big group of friends to carb load for a run and the staff was super accommodating, welcoming, and the overall vibe was just very positive! Food was great with good portions and the owner came by with tiramisu and biscotti for the table! What a time!
Such a lovely experience dining at Piacere! Great food, drinks and good vibes. Love their gluten free pizza
I would give 6 stars for service. Stayed two nights at Sohotel, and found this gem next door. They took us in like family. Lovely, warm, super atmospheric place. Superb pizza. My son couldn’t have the Aperol Spritzer, so they made up the Bambizze on the spot!!! Oh, and the Tiramisu… just heaven!
We came just before closing on New Year’s Eve and we were welcomed, ate amazing pasta and were not rushed although the kitchen staff were told to leave early to celebrate with their families. Coming back for sure!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such an amazing dining experience! The food and dessert was so fresh and delicious. The staff was also so kind and accommodating and made sure we enjoyed and were taken care of!
Great place to hang out with your friends or go on a date the staff and owners were attentive !! But it’s the food that was delicious Get the pizza to start but you must have the meatballs. The warm sauce was savory . We had the Chianti and it was very nice with pizza . We tried the gnocchi too- it was in a white sauce and everyone devoured it
I'm really excited I accidentally stumbled upon this place; I was just walking by and decided to stop in for a glass of wine because it looked so cozy and inviting inside. I only had wine, but want to come back to eat because the menu looks amazing. Eddie, who was behind the bar, provided exceptional service, and was so pleasant to talk to. I'll definitely be coming back with people who visit me for a nice authentic Italian meal. Also looks good for a first date spot; the floorplan is conducive to make an easy exit in case the date is not going well..
This place is so underrated. The food was incredible (best tiramisu ever!), and the service was even better. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for high quality Italian food in a cozy environment, with a staff that seem to truly care about giving an above and beyond experience.
Eddie was the best!! The most amazing cozy restaurant. The best service so adaptable and something on the menu for everyone. Just great vibes all around!
A true Italian treasure in the city! Very authentic Italian food — I almost want to keep it a secret!! We’ll need to come back!! ALSO the best tiramisu in the world. Grazie mille Piacere!
The service started as we walked up to the restaurant. We were greeted and brought to our table. It was raining so we couldn't enjoy the patio but the big open front made for a very wonderful experience. It's a cozy space in all the right ways, nice big tables for groups and smaller ones for two. The wine selection included a great variety without an overwhelming amount of choice. The waiter was also helpful with the wine selection. We both ordered pasta and honestly it was perfect. Excellent sauce, incredible toppings and perfectly cooked. If your travels cross paths with Piacere, walk in, you will be so glad you did!
Simply can’t have enough good things to say about this place. The food is amazing and fresh, the decor and vibe is adorable and the owner is so lovely. He gave our group so many great recommendations and was so warm and nice. The meatballs are great and so was the tomato sauce pasta with bacon. AND there’s free focaccia when you sit. Would eat here every week if I could.
I can not thank Marcelo and the amazing staff at Piacere enough for the wonderful experience they provided my family - party of 9, on the 20th of December! The food and wine were incredible, the service was excellent and the staff interacted so beautifully with my little nephew and niece and my grandson. The atmosphere was cozy, warm and welcoming. I felt like I was back in Italy except here in Piacere they were even more welcoming and friendly! Well done! I will recommend you to all my friends and family!
Food is very good. The owner greeted us when we reached. Made right suggestions for drinks and food. Very accommodative with various dietary restrictions. I will absolutely recommend this restaurant.
Amazing experience. Food was great. Drinks were great. People were great. I also have a gluten allergy and it was the best gluten free pizza I’ve had in years. Wow. Go here! (Also shout out to Eddie, he’s wonderful).
We stumbled upon this restaurant and boy am I glad we did! THIS is the real Little Italy. I had the Rigatoni and my friend had a pizza. I’ve eaten a lot of Italian food in my life but I have never had anything quite like this. The atmosphere is straight out of Pinterest, the people are super friendly, and the food is to die for. I’ll be bringing anyone back here when they visit.
Very nice and cozy restaurant. Friendly service. Amazing roman style pizza! Leave room for dessert: the ricotta mascarpone cheesecake is simply amazing! GRAZIE RAGAZZI
Legit Italian in the LES. This is one of my local spots for 10+years! Ooof! that happened fast! Anyhow, a local Italian restaurant in the Lower East Side that is consistently great, using the best ingredients and treating everyone right. Always a good crowd. If your'e not from around here and you're catching this review, tip well and treat everyone well. There aren't many local places like this.... Moses
Charming Italian spot with a wallet-friendly check and real neighborhood warmth. The owner is pure charisma — you’ll feel welcomed the second you walk in. And the tiramisu? Absolutely unreal.
The food and service here was spectacular!! The staff answered all of our questions and provided great insight into the food and drink options. I must eat gluten free and the team at Piacere was wonderful in meeting my needs. I had gluten free pasta that was perfect in flavor and texture!! Usually you can tell when pasta is gluten free, but not in this case. A must visit for a great Italian meal, especially if you are gluten free.
Feel like I hit the jackpot with this place as a first time visitor to NYC. Amazing staff, service and food: they were happy to help with dietary restrictions and went the extra mile. It's off the party strip too so you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Prices are very good, too. Best meal on my New York trip!
A truly authentic Italian spot in NYC! The atmosphere, the food, and the service are all outstanding. Erick, the bartender, is absolutely wonderful — warm, attentive, and incredibly talented at what he does. And Matthew made the experience even more special with his kindness and charm. This place feels like a little corner of Italy in the heart of New York. Highly recommended!
Everything was excellent! (My homemade gnocchis with four cheese and truffle and my husband's carbonara pizza). The homemade tiramisu is amazing, as a pastry chef I would highly recommend these dessert. Also thank you so much for your warm welcome and the treats. We'll definitely come back on our next trip !
We were looking for so long trying to find a spot with space for us on a late Friday night and stumbled upon Piacere and it couldn’t have been a more perfect place to find ourselves. The BEST tiramasu and strawberry sorbet I have ever had, cozy and beautiful atmosphere, and our server was the kindest man. I will be returning and recommending to everyone I know!
Best Italian spot in NYC, with the best Tiramisu I’ve ever had. The owner is super hospitable and the pasta comes out hot and fresh; the only spot where I consistently hear Italian spoken amongst customers. Warm, friendly, and non-pretentious (unlike many overrated Italian restaurants in the West Village). Highly underrated and would recommend!
Alright. I RARELY if EVER write reviews, but man. This place deserves one. My wife lived in Italy for years, and I’ve been with her plenty of times to visit, and this was the best Italian food we’ve had since being away. And, everyone here is so kind. Please come here if you’re ever in the area. (P.S. order the Carbonara pasta and the Amatriciana pizza and end with their Tiramisu)
Next time in NYC we will come back. Food was excellent, but really outstanding was the service. If felt more like being with friends than having dinner in a restaurant. What you should know is, that you either need cash or an Amex Card, we did not have cash (nor Amex), but it was easy to get cash with our Visa card from the ATM inside the restaurant. Thank you very much for the wonderful evening.
A true taste is Italy! From the moment you walk in, you’re transported straight to Italy — not just by the atmosphere, but by the warmth of the staff and the aroma drifting from the kitchen. Every detail feels intentional: the music, the candlelight, the handmade plates. The service is flawless — friendly without being overbearing, and they treat you like family from the start. Now the food… unreal. Every bite tastes like it came straight from a nonna’s kitchen in Sicily. The pasta is perfectly al dente, the sauces are rich and layered, and you can tell everything is made from scratch with love. the tiramisu might actually ruin all others for you. Even the wine list is curated so beautifully that it’s impossible to pick wrong. It’s rare to find a restaurant that nails everything — food, service, atmosphere — but this one does. You don’t just eat here; you experience it. Easily one of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had, and I’d recommend it a hundred times over.
If you’re in NYC and on the hunt for some top-notch Italian food, Piacere is definitely a spot worth visiting. Piacere Restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere that creates a warm and inviting environment, perfect for an intimate dinner or a gathering with friends. The food was excellent, every dish was made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that really stood out. Out of everything we tried, the beet salad with goat cheese, the cannelloni with tomato sauce, and the tiramisu were the clear winners. 🥗 The beet salad stood out with its creamy goat cheese and crunchy pine nuts, hitting just the right balance of flavors. The cannelloni was served with a thick layer of tomato sauce and a dusting of Parmesan cheese, with fresh basil leaf, was another favorite. And to top it all off, the tiramisu was the ideal way to wrap up the meal. The dishes were presented with a personal touch, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. What really made the night special was the owner, Marco. He was super friendly and came by to check if everything was going well, which added a personal touch to the whole experience. If you're in NYC and craving some good Italian food, Piacere is definitely worth checking out.
I love absolutely everything about this restaurant! As someone who grew up in the area and lived in Italy, I can tell you that this Italian experience is the real deal. A rare find in America, they even have fregola! My Sardinian favorite! I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Do not sleep on Piacere!
Amazing! I lived 10 years on Tuscany and truly my experience at Piacere made me feel like if I was back there surrounded by the pine and olive trees with the tastiest pasta and my favorite primi piatti. Bravo Eric and Piacere team and thanks for this genuine Italian moment.
From the moment we walked in, the whole staff was AMAZING. Italian hospitality at is finest. We mentioned what we were in the mood for and they nailed it. Woodfired pizza with spicy sausage and cooked to perfection 👌. The pasta was a cream sauce with crumbled sausage topped with fresh parmeasan. The tiramasu was unreal. I have had my share of fine tiramasu and this was it!!!!!!
This place surpassed my expectations. The owner and bartender were the stars of the night. Besides the immaculate customer service, the food was beyond good. Enjoyed the fresh ingredients and ambiance. The pizza was devoured on sight so no pics lol. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for food and chill vibes.
Eddie Spaghetti is the best! We had an amazing meal celebrating my brother’s birthday. Amazing food, atmosphere, and service! Don’t skip the stuff pizza…It’s insanely good! Will be back soon….
real hidden gem and an absolute must visit. From the moment I walked in, Eric behind the bar made me feel genuinely welcome — warm, attentive, and effortless hospitality. I’ve lived in New York for six years and only just stumbled across this place, and it really stood out. Great atmosphere, great service, and just an all-around great place to be. I’ll definitely be back.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Piacere Restaurant – Little Italy, NYC We had a wonderful evening at Piacere, and much of it was thanks to the outstanding service provided by Edi. He was attentive, friendly, and highly professional, making my wife, my daughter, and me feel truly welcome throughout the entire night. Our orders included the Personal Pizza Quattro Formaggi, Personal Pizza Salsiccia e Funghi, and Taglierini Porcini e Tartufo. Every dish was exceptional, full of authentic flavor. The Kalema Primitivo Salento wine perfectly complemented our meal. For dessert, we enjoyed the Tiramisu, which is a must-try, especially when paired with Amaro Del Capo. Piacere turned a simple family dinner into a memorable experience. Exceptional service, excellent food, and a warm atmosphere that truly captures the spirit of Little Italy. For anyone looking to have a special evening, visiting Piacere is absolutely worth it. Carlos Portella Boca Raton, FL
Piacere is an absolute gem in New York. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was nothing short of delicious—every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. Everything came out perfectly, and the staff made the experience feel special without being overbearing. If you’re looking for amazing food paired with outstanding service, Piacere is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!
Had a really great time here. The food was excellent - the cannelloni were so fluffy and the sauce was perfect, and the pasta carbonara was rich not heavy. The atmosphere is perfectly cozy, and the service was quick and friendly. It’s a little bit off the main Little Italy drag so was less crowded too. Would definitely come back.
We had such a lovely experience at Piacere. We stopped by for a couple of drinks after our dinner and the bartender Erik greeted us with a welcoming spirit. The drinks were perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. We also enjoyed the vanilla panna cotta dessert as a sweet finale to our long day. Great neighborhood vibes and friendly relaxing environment.
We had one hour to spare and had an AMAZING one hour here. Did not want to leave. Coming back this weekend to enjoy everything else more. Eric the bartender and Matthew really welcomed us in and made us feel right at home. We had amazing pizza, dessert, drinks and conversation. Don’t think twice about coming here: just walk right in!! 10/10
We stumbled across this pretty little gem by accident, and so glad we did. The food was incredible. Fresh ingredients, simply prepared. We ordered the orecchiette pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe and the bufalini pizza to share. Both were perfect. Especially the pizza, which was ready in less than 5 minutes and brought straight to the table from the wood-fired oven. We finished with a lovely panna cotta with mixed berry compote and fresh mint. Delicious. The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating, and I’m glad we chatted with them because we discovered that the manager, Eddie, was in the process of perfecting his own recipes for fresh fruit margaritas—mango with a Tajin rim or strawberry mint. Naturally, we had to try them. So fresh and flavorful. We love a well crafted margarita and these did not disappoint! If Eddie is there when you go, make sure to ask him for one—but when the fresh fruit puree he makes by hand is gone for the night, that’s it!
I’ve got to say, one of the best and authentically Italian places I’ve been in the US. The service was outstanding - the owner was so nice and we even had 2 kids with us. We loved the homemade pesto so much (and we order it a lot because I have a 7 year old who pretty much will eat anything as long as there’s pesto on it) that he even gave us little take aways of it. And he taught my kids some phrases in Italian. The food was amazing - perfectly thin pizza, felt like we were in Italy. Go here - you won’t regret it.
This was the perfect find for friendly service at the bar and great gluten free pizza. I appreciated the bartender giving me a taste of the wine before pouring my glass as I didn’t like it and he found me something I really liked. The grilled squid was delicious too. The beet salad special was tasty but a bit underwhelming for the price. Overall, awesome find and we will surely be back!
The best pizza in town! Huge thanks to the chef for his personal touch and for preserving the original recipe year after year. The waiters are always attentive and courteous, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Even after moving to another city, I always make sure to visit this restaurant whenever I come back to New York!
A true gem for northern Italian traditional plates and Italian classics. Felt like a very European dining experience. Beautiful indoor/outdoor flow. Front windows open up completely, creating a gorgeous rustic dining experience on a summer night. The service was fantastic, and we could tell a lot of care was put into each menu item. Complimentary focaccia and biscotti were delightful, and the gnocchi melted in my mouth. It looked like they sell bottled olive oil, and the olive oil was some of the best I’ve had in the US. Note that they only take cash and AMEX, but there is an ATM in the back.
Cash only or AMEX, just to start things off. The food was fine, a bit expensive for what it is however. I wouldn’t come back as the pizza was almost $30 and the ingredients tasted fine. However, what they should be doing is noting the public about their incredible Gluten Free pizza dough. This was on par with Brooklyn Height’s Dellaroccos. Definitely either homemade or supremely good quality dough. It tasted almost identical— it wasn’t the crappy thin crust ones you may get at other pizza joints. If you live in the neighborhood and are gluten free wanting pizza, EAT HERE. Celiac? Their pizza oven has contaminated flour.
We loved this place - the vibe is perfect for a couple on a first date or as a regular place you go bc you live in the neighborhood and crave a certain dish(or a Portofino Negroni) or for a family who wants to share dishes at one of the wonderful community tables. So great from atmosphere to taste!
Make sure to bring cash or pay by Amex. Stopped in for a drink before the dinner rush. Really cute and cozy, exposed brick and pipes. We had the place all to ourselves for that drink and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and when we ordered our drink, I loved that he asked, ‘are you having a double’? What a fantastic attitude lol and of course we said yes! He was kind to comp one of the doubles. Enjoyed our visit and would come back to try the food.
It's such a shame because this would have been a 6 out of 5 but, they want payment in cash, they put an ATM into the toilet / back of the restaurant. Then their ATM was not working so they said we had to find a card to pay with, and then they forced an increase in the service charge, we could not even change the service we just had to sign what they put in front of us. I don't if this legal but I felt it ruined what else was a good night
This place does decent gluten free pizza delivery later at night but their prices are much more expensive than they should be for the quality. Their carbonara gluten-free pizza and their spicy oil are delicious. I was curious about their having a guacamole pizza but would not recommend it. If Kesté nearby is still open, I’d much rather order their gluten-free pizza.
The food is ok. No complaints but pretty much regular for the price and for being an authentic Italian restaurant. Unfortunately when we asked for the check they said they didn’t accept the major credit cards except Amex. They said if we want we could use their ATM to get some cash. The problem is, nobody told us beforehand about that and we double checked the place (apraxia Lou whole leaving) and there’s no sign alerting about that either. I really didn’t like that. Specially because going to the ATM cost me extra fees. I’ve seen other reviews about that here but thought it was a point in time only. Anyways not coming again.
Had a reservation for 9:15 and had to wait until 10 to be seated- walk-ins were seated before us. Staff cleared off multiple tables and even moved tables to accommodate other parties that had just walked in, had reservations at a later time than us, or didn’t even have the entire party there, while having our party of four wait until the farthest corner table was available. Once seated we had to wait a while for the server to just bring menus or bread to the table while other tables were already getting their meals. Other staff members in the restaurant would just smile and walk away when we tried to get their attention. Food was honestly good but it was very weird that our specific group had to wait patiently throughout the entire night while everyone around us was being tended to appropriately. The balance of diversity in the restaurant made it more odd as we were the only non-white group in the restaurant.
