this is one of my go-to places for brunch. i really enjoy their thai twist on brunch foods. i used to come all the time for their thai babka french toast but they have changed it to an elephant ear french toast which essentially felt kind of like a crispier cinnamon roll, and i loved it. their disco fries are also a must try and this time we also tried the panang neuh which was super flavorful and tender.

My friends and I basically ordered half the menu and what you see in the photo isn’t even a fifth of it. We were so caught up in the food and the whole experience that I barely remembered to take pictures, but everything we tried was great. Friendly staff, incredible vibe, this place hits. Get on the waitlist ahead of time and expect a bit of a wait, but there are plenty of bars nearby to kill time until your table’s ready.

Very delicious food that's reasonably priced! The Thai Disco Fries were a particular hit for us. We also shared the Minestrone soup, cabbage rolls, lettuce wraps with tofu, and eggplant side. As a party of three, it was a very pleasant atmosphere with flavorful options.

Arrived on a Sunday at 6pm, waited 30 mins after getting on waitlist. Ambience is immediately warm and cozy when you walk in with red paper lanterns lining the room. Food is unique with American fusion elements. Tried the famous disco fries (my fav dish), lettuce wraps (very good), pad see ew (surprisingly small portion), papaya salad (spicy -- be warned), and monster cake (more for visuals than taste). Overall would come back to try brunch!

Thai diner is amazing. Such a unique place. Decor is amazing and all the food is incredible. Recommend sharing food with 2 or 3 people. Their sweets are all good. Mr banana cocktail was tasty if you like a stronger drink. Penang curry w short rib was so good. So was crab fried rice. Recommend going during off hours so you don't wait forever. Like 2:00pm during the week is a great time to snag a table.

Very good food. Really like their Green papaya salad (must-try). Disco fries are pretty good too. Laab is on the spicier side, but it’s very flavorful. Laab comes with a bowl of wild rice. But due to its spice and flavor, I would order additional bowl of rice if you are in a group of 2-4 people.

One of the best Thai restaurants in NYC! The flavors were authentic! every dish was packed with flavor! Don’t forget about their dessert! It was insanely delicious!

Undoubtedly the best Thai in the city (comparing some of the other popular west village and UES places). I believe they were the popular joint Uncle Boon’s which became uncle boon’s sister delivery only around the pandemic and now this is their latest incarnation. Magnificent flavorful Thai food. I had the hot toddy cocktail, green curry clams and the short rib preparation- perfect combination.

Incredible brunch on a Sunday. This was the best meal I've had in NYC over a 5 day stay. We had the fried chicken Phat Thai w/fried egg, elephant ear French toast, and the disco fries. I can't recommend these dishes enough. If you get there a few minutes before 10am opening, you should be able to get in without a wait or reservation.

This was an unexpected surprise and I enjoyed every minute of it! I was in the area and happened to search for a breakfast spot, and this popped up as a nearby recommendation. I was intrigued because I have never seen breakfast at a Thai restaurant. What’s sit out most was the Elephant Ear French toast. The wait was quick just 20 minutes and we were seated for a party of two. The service was just as quick despite it being a busy and packed restaurant. I’m so happy I ordered the French toast. It was so unique and delicious. It has the flavors of a chai tea wrapped up in a delicious elephant ear French toast. Highly recommended. I will be back soon for more!

My friend and I came here for the first time. We sat outside, which was fine as long as the weather was warm. We weren’t sure what to expect, so we just read the menu and chose what we wanted to try. My favorite dish was the Thai disco fries, and my friend really liked the duck wonton soup. I’m Thai, so I know what authentic Thai flavors taste like, but the way they adapted Thai food here was very delicious and beautifully presented, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice, and the staff were friendly and provided great service as well.👍👍

An authentic Thai restaurant offering a wide variety of dishes and traditional sauces, all full of flavor and very well prepared. The food is excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. The restaurant is smaller than it appears, which can make it feel a bit tight at times. The only downside was the service: the waitstaff prefers that you place your entire order at once and tends to rush the process, which doesn’t leave much room to enjoy the meal at a relaxed pace.

A top spot in SoHo for amazing Thai food. Expect to wait but I promise you won’t be disappointed. The lycee Martin was the best I had in NYC and I tried a few. Loved the pad Thai noodles with crispy tofu! It was plentiful, perfectly seasoned and sauced and big enough to sate or next day leftovers. Also the loved the cabbage rolls stuffed with turkey in a light curry sauce. Still thinking about the meal a week later. Put it in your NYC list!

The funny thing about this place is I didn’t know anything about it until recently. My coworker. I work at food for workspace would constantly talk about how this is her favorite place and constantly talk about. The funny thing is that I booked a reservation here with my partner and then the next night my coworker took us all to Thai Diner so I had this place two times in a row completely different experiences The food here is amazing. The portions are large. It’s authentic the papaya salad alone makes you wanna come back for so much more the way it’s made is perfect and I’m literally salivating as I talk about it. I haven’t had a dish here I haven’t liked we also had a loaded disco fries, which is extremely crispy and tasty. They were even delivered to work one day and got cold and I still ate them which I don’t recommend in that way they’re delicious fresh All the noodle dishes were good but there’s also a big sundae dessert thing that is highly recommended. Oh my God it blew me away Huge beautiful and exciting. See the pictures. The ambience alone is stunning. It’s very warm. I got a great feel inside and out. The look is so cool like a New York City diner mixed with a Thai restaurant, stunning authentically, beautiful all the way through they thought of everything Go here or go often the staff is amazing. I really don’t have anything bad to save this place. It’s one of my top restaurants in 2025.

Finally came for breakfast. The Thai tea elephant ear French toast is a bit disappointing - it’s more like a cinnamon bun and I didn’t really enjoy the flavor. Been here few times, super long wait. Good food for coming here once with wait. I feel like theres not too many options with thai varieties, but great spot to try once after that the wait is just not worth it. Like why am i waiting 3 hours for thai food when i have so many options down the block.

We came here for brunch. Just be aware. They don't take reservations, just walk ins, so be prepared to wait. This was actually our second try if you want to get seated right away, come early. Otherwise, the wait can be up to 2 hours. This time we got lucky and didn't wait too long. The restaurant is cute, but it's small and seating is limited. We tried quite a few dishes such as Uncle Boon's Crab Fried Rice, coconut chicken thailandese, thai tea babka french toast, disco fries, Pha Thai with Crispy Fried Chicken, Crispy Eggplant Maytinee, Rooibos and Chrysanthemum Tea. Our favorites were the roti, crispy fried chicken, eggplant, and the fried rice. The disco fries were also really good. The Phat Thai was decent, but had a too much peanut for my taste. The babka French toast was a miss for me it was too dry and the spread had an odd flavor. Overall, it's a cool spot to check out if you're into Thai food and don't mind a wait. There are definitely other great Thai places around too, especially if you're short on time. Staff were nice but understandable can be very busy.

The food is really good and feels like a trip to Thailand with its authentic flavors. The ambience is great and adds to the overall experience. There are amazing vegan and vegetarian options as well. The only downside is the long wait time—due to the rush, the servers can be slow and less responsive, so be prepared for that. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable experience and definitely worth trying.

Get ready to transport yourself to Thailand. This place has such a vibe between its decor, staff and diners. Ben was literally the best waiter with amazing recommendations. We basically let him order for our party of four minus the drinks. We choose those. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Tips: get there early, request inside and discuss spice/heat level!

The food is flavorful, comforting, and well executed. Classic Thai dishes with a little modern twist, nothing too fancy but done right. Portions are satisfying and everything tastes balanced. Service can feel a bit busy or rushed at times, especially when it’s crowded, but it’s still friendly and efficient enough. Atmosphere is a big win. Fun, lively, kitschy cool diner vibe that feels very NYC. Great for hanging out with friends, casual dates, or just grabbing good food without it feeling too serious. Overall, this feels like a strong 4.5 star spot that people actually enjoy coming back to.

Food was really great but I really hate I was rushed out for my birthday dinner. We wanted to order more and were told no. I get they are popular but I kind of wish they were just reservation only like other popular places. A table of 4 is typically given 2 hrs+. We were given a tight 90 min at a tight table. Guava sour was excellent, so was the fish, crab fried rice, pad see ew, the sundae, and banana pudding. I’d say the dumplings could be skipped. Papaya salad was also great and spicy. I’d love to come back but the popularity scares me off honestly

Our first time here today. We came on a Monday afternoon and the place was very busy but we were seated at the bar right away. The waiter/bar tender was very friendly and recommended a ton of dishes. We ordered a bit of everything to sample the menu. Some dishes were great, some were just okay. There’s no doubt excellent flavours, but many of the dishes had similar flavours with the same red curry base. Service was very slow. We ordered 5 dishes (2 appetizers and 3 mains) and each dish arrived separately about 20minutes apart. We were there for a total of 1.5 hours! Luckily we didn’t have many plans today. We ordered: - Drunken dumplings: flavourful, but was more like meatballs rather than dumplings and I didn’t taste any alcohol base to the dish which was disappointing given the name - Green curry clams: good flavours, wasn’t mind-blowing but it was still good - Cheesesteak Phat Bai: this was our favourite. We’re cheesesteak fanatics and make multiple trips to Philly in a year. They definitely do a great job with the cheesesteak here with a Thai twist. My only complaint is that I wish it was bigger with more filling! Or offer a larger size sandwich 😋. I’d come back just for this. - Cabbage rolls: I didn’t feel like it was anything special. Cooked well and tasted fine, but the curry tasted similar to the appetizers. - Lobster omelette: Egg was cooked well and impressed that they give you a whole small lobster tail. But the curry tasted similar to the cabbage roll curry so it wasn’t a standout. Overall, good food with good flavours. Wasn’t mind-blowing, but the cheesesteak is definitely worth coming back for! Also, the portions here aren’t very big. We ordered 5 dishes between the two of us and expected to take home leftovers, but there wasn’t any. Sure we were full, but had we just ordered one entree each, we’d probably want something else after.

The service was great and the food was delicious. Oysters were fresh and loved the green sauce, the duck wonton soup had really great flavor and wonton filling was juicy and flavorful, the crab fried rice had nice large pieces of crab and came with the delicious green seafood sauce. The cocktails were strong. The coconut sundae was big and good to share the candied peanuts added a nice crunch and caramel flavor whipped cream was creamy and ice cream delicious. I understand the hype and its worth a try.

drunken dumplings 4/5 - dipping sauce was to die for, so flavorful and had a spicy kick to it! phat thai w/chicken 5/5 - cant go wrong with a classic, right amount of tamarind sauce so the noodles weren’t dry at all (though they could have given us half a lime not barely 1/4 of it) panang neuh 5/5 - braised beef was soooo tender, curry was so yummy though my friend found it a bit salty but would def recommend and get again, a must have!! cheesesteak phat bai horapha w/fries 2/5 - probably wouldnt order this again… was thrilled at first to make it before the cut off time to order this but (saying this as a big lover of cheese) the one they used made this overly salty and hard to eat… had about 1-2 bites before i set it to the side, removed the contents and ended up pairing it with the white rice from the panang neuh to dilute the saltiness of it. loved the fries though, were very crispy! aside from the food, cant say too much about the atmosphere from INSIDE the actual diner, I understand adding a secondary attachment to the business to being able to serve more customers but it was 18 degrees outside when we went. We got seated on the outside attachment near the windows and had to keep our coats on with how much draft air was coming in, noted about 3 or so space heaters on the roof but could barely feel them working at all especially when you aren’t seated under one. Also note the lack of space between each table and the servers having to wait at the end of the row because there was only enough room for people to leave in a single file line (all while having to make sure that none of their garments aren’t accidentally ending up in your food as they’re leaving or arriving). This caused them to barely notice when we had to set plates to the side and stack them so we had more room on our table, (also note again if you are seated at a table for 2 you have to play tetris to have multiple plates fit on such a small table). Or when we were ready for the check (couldnt flag someone down to come/took a while for them to finally ring us up). Would definitely come again to try their other dishes but maybe during the warmer months or if they’re able to seat us inside next time/come during a slower period. :)

What an excellent restaurant. They have the classics and then fresh new spins on diner food. I really enjoyed it. My favorite was starting off with the scallops and ultimately the snapper was the winner for all of us. Other highlights include the Khao Soi and oysters. Get the broiled ones. Highly recommend and the cocktails are great too. 🇹🇭🍹🍽️

I had high expectations for the disco fries. They were good but I don’t know if it was my favorite combo. I got the dessert the coconut sundae and it was incredible! Ordered their famous crab fried rice, famous per the internet (also strongly recommended by the server who took my order). I passed on the alcohol but enjoyed the rooibos tea and it was well worth the money. The decor is lovely and feels more upscale than it is. This is a place I would go to if I’m trying to have a chill and elevated catch up meal with a friend. The crab fried rice comes with an above standard portion of crab, which I appreciated. However, the dish lacked flavor. This dish heavily depends on the side sauce it comes with for flavor. The very small portion of sauce is not sufficient for the whole dish. I asked for a second serving of the sauce and it turns out you have to pay for it, it was $2 which is overpriced for less than half an ounce of sauce. Having tried many other Thai restaurants in my life and in NYC, I was underwhelmed by this experience. I would not go out of my way to go here.

I came here on a seasonal and dry Saturday night in late October around 830pm with a friend who was in town visit. We didn’t have a reservation and there was a wait for a table which we were quoted by the host from the little host window to be 45 minutes. We decided to walk around Soho while we waited as they text you when the table is ready and then you have 10 minutes to claim the table. After i put the phone in my pocket to walk around and wait, I was texted 3 minutes later to say my table was ready… but unfortunately I didn’t see the message until 15 minutes after I put my phone in my pocket. We walked back to the restaurant and we were told we could have a seat at the counter which we took. The counter was great although the service was a little light and slow but I think that might be a theme throughout the restaurant. The restaurant was filled with young people but not super loud. The cocktail I had was good. The food was fine; not really remarkable compared to any other Thai restaurants throughout the city that can easily book reservations. I would not recommend the fries everyone talks about. The decor of the restaurant was cool. I’m glad I went, but I probably wouldn’t go back unless someone else initiated the meal.

The kabucha squash artichoke appetizer was inedible. The breakfast sandwich was bland - how is that even possible?? The coconut crusted fried chicken had no flavor. The khao soi barely had any noodles and the broth was super salty. The condiments could not save any of the bland flavors either. Wow, what a massive disappointment. The service was also lacking. Our waitress was cold towards us. She did manage a quarter of a smile when it was time to pay and tip her. I won’t be back since none of the experience was worth it.

2 pad Thai, 2 thai ice tea for $71.00! Portion is small and short rib was NOT short rib! Mediocre taste. Definitely not worth it.

Absolutely worst place we have tried in NY. i saw someone i follow on instagram recommend the place and decided to check it out. Learned the hard way. Terrible food. Too sweet (both the dishes we tried) service was terrible. They never checked on us and we had to hunt them down to get us the menu or even the check. Im 7 months pregnant and they crammed us in this tight space. I was going to suck it up but it got so uncomfortable and i had to say something and when i said something the guy made a face and said something like couldnt u say something before u ordered?! And another girl came and sat us at the bar. We decided not to let that ruin our lunch but as soon as the food came it was another big disappointment. Terrible food. I can honestly say it was the worst thai place ive ever been to. We left without even eating half of it. I was wrong to go by an instagramers recommendation.

I visited Thai Diner for an 11:00 AM weekday lunch with a friend, and while there were positives, one interaction completely changed how I feel about the restaurant. Our server, Bella, was truly wonderful. She was warm, attentive, and thoughtful. The food was good but average for the location, and the ambience was pleasant. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined when another staff member named Javier aggressively told us that because it’s a “diner,” we were expected to finish our meal within 45 minutes halfway through our meal. This was surprising, unnecessary, and uncomfortable, especially given that we had a reservation, the restaurant wasn’t busy, and nothing indicated such a policy. We also hadn’t even been seated for a full hour. Considering we ordered an appetizer, two entrées, two drinks, and a dessert, expecting us to enjoy all of that within 45 minutes, without rushing, felt unreasonable. The comment made us feel rushed and unwelcome, completely overshadowing the good parts of the meal. Although Bella and the manager apologized, the interaction left such a negative impression that it not only ruined what could have been a good lunch but also made us question whether it’s truly worth returning or even recommending it to others.
