Welcomed graciously and seated quickly. Started with a few cocktails that were amazing. We ordered wings, a farmhouse pizza with speck, brussel shavings, and a truffled egg, and the filet medallions. I'm from Buffalo.... The wings were on point! Crispy with the right amount of sauce and served with both carrots and celery + blue cheese (as it should be!). The pizza was excellent! Crispy bread with the perfect amount of toppings. (Also reheated well the next day) The steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare and the mushroom saucewas to die for. Scalloped potatoes were lovely and the zucchini was amazing. I cannot wait to go back.
While I haven't the chance to eat there in person, I have ordered delivery through Grubhub multiple times, and the food has been amazing every single time. The crispy chicken sandwich is easily my favorite, and I can't wait to have the opportunity to actually go there in person for food and drinks!
Altamont local here -- we love this spot. Crowd pleaser that's all the diets-friendly. Staffing makes service hit and miss, but the atmosphere and food make waiting a minute for your check a pleasant experience. So who cares. Call ahead if visiting later in the week! Or aim for a bar seat and watch them make pizza all night!
Exceptional service and food. Waiter was fast and attentive. Smoked bbq wings were crispy and delicious. Burger was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My girls loved the Mac and cheese. My wife got the mushroom pizza and loved it
This was a great experience all around. From the ordering online to the pick up to the food. The food was absolutely wonderful. Such a great addition to the area. We had the tuna nachos, tots, chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese every item was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely delicious food and great service! Wish I took pictures but as soon as the food arrived we dived right in. Everything we ordered was great but my favorite was the apple cider bourbon drink and brussel sprout butternut squash appetizer amazing flavor in every bite! Our waiter was phenomenal as well!
The foods are pretty good and the staff is friendly. The portions of foods are generous and more than I expected. Be sure to make a reservation otherwise you might need to sit at the tables which are not so comfortable.
Lesley, our server, was a delight. The restaurant is pretty and always adapting it’s menu and ambiance for the season. The drinks were good and aesthetically pleasing. The owner, Jackie is friendly and you can usually find her in the restaurant. The food was amazinggggggg. Will be back soon. Would recommend to a friend.
Had dinner tonight with my great granddaughter for her birthday. Nicole, our server, was lovely. The food tasted great and the atmosphere was very welcoming. All of the staff was extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing a bite to eat if you're in the area!
Farmhouse is one of those restaurants that is great for a more exquisite dinner, i.e., birthday, anniversary, etc... Or it can be a place for some specialty pizzas, some cider/beer, etc... This is a tall order to accommodate both, but we have never had a bad meal from here! Getting a reservation has been how I have done it every time, & the staff is consistently wonderful 😊
Eaten here on two occasions and it was delicious both times. The wings are by far the best we've ever had. With the price of wings on the rise everywhere it is refreshing to get great sized wings that taste so so good here. Pizza was good, Rueben was good, and both Cosmo's and Mai Tai's were delicious as well. Love the atmosphere and respect that when they get busy they cut back take out orders to make sure those eating in the restaurant are served with stellar service and food. All new restaurants have growing pains and I can appreciate all this local place has done to maximize the customers experience.
Drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert were all spot on. The ambiance is relaxed and cozy and service is perfect. Go enjoy a nice evening out!
Went on 10/15/2021 and had a minor issue with our order but the bartender and owner went above and beyond fixing the issue which was really appreciated. The food here is delicious and I'm definitely looking forward to going back soon. The atmosphere is great. A gem of a place in the area!
Wonderful food and atmosphere. I loved the crispy, thin, and flavor packed woodfired pizza. The chicken sandwich is the best I've ever had and I've lived in the south for some time. The chicken sandwich was flavor throughout. They also have amazing dessert...of course my favorite course....I had the cookie skillet with vanilla bean ice cream and salted cameral swirl....drool...it was AMAZING! My hubby had crem brulee and so rich and creamy with great sugar crust. We will be returning very soon. Price for all the food and drinks we had was excellent. Quality is fresh and beef from Highland Hollow is something to brag about.
Great place to stop for a bite and a brew at the western terminus of the Albany County Rail Trail. Limited BBQ based menu but excellent quality and nice selection of potables on tap. There is enough variety to suit most tastes. Another motivator to get on the bike and get outside.
What a great place to have a drink and grab a bite to eat. The new owners are phenomenal and they working on a new menu, which I’m so excited to try. Best chicken sandwich, hands down!!
Crispy Chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly and had lots of meat. One of my favorite parts our our meal was the Korean Brussels. They were to die for. The Honey Cake and cream that came with it was literally icing on the cake. I am ecstatic this location opened as Altamont could use more restaurants. Pretty happy with the prices since the restaurant industry has been struggling. Kudos to the owner for creating this space during difficult times!
The service was attentive, and the food tasted delicious. I got the veggie panini and got the Brussels sprouts which was bomb. I would absolutely get them again. Loved the flavor of the poutine and the French onion soup. The honey dessert is perfect for sharing. I wish they were open this past Sunday so I could bring my grandparents when they were visiting lol.
I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Farmhouse Tap + Tavern. Tavern fare is my favorite sort of food, especially when it is elevated with locally sourced ingredients. Not to mention the wood fired oven! Walking into a newly opened and bustling restaurant was a great feeling, and even on a grand opening, they didn't miss a beat. We started perusing the drink menu, with so many amazing cocktails and an extensive beer list, it was hard to choose, so I had a few. I started with the New York Sour, fantastic. The Mezcal Old Fashion, wow - I am obsessed with mezcal. And lastly I had one of the DIPAs, you really can't go wrong with a drink here! We were served some complimentary corn bread, it was great! I am not the biggest fan of corn bread but this was perfectly moist and the corn and pepper in it made it something memorable. We started with an order of wings, medium Buffalo. The sauce was perfect. It had a level or heat I expect from medium but rarely receive. The wood fired char on the wings with the sauce made the flavor perfect, and the wings were perfectly juicy and tender. Highly recommend. We then ordered a Margherita wood fired pizza and some Mac and cheese. The wood fired pizza was GREAT. I can only imagine it improving with time. I was absolutely impressed with the flavor of the crust, the thinness, the light hand on ingredients. I can't wait to try all the pizzas. The Mac and cheese was good, my boyfriend ate every last bite! We wanted to try more, but we didn't have enough stomach! I will be back over and over again. They really know what they are doing. The service was great, food came quick, and the prices were so reasonable. This will be a regular spot of mine for sure.
Our server Tommy was very friendly and didn’t skip a beat getting us everything we asked for. Started with the loaded potato pizza, it sounded a little weird but I like weird so I went for it. The potato was so good and worked perfectly with the cheese bacon and green onion, everything I could have asked for! The farmhouse wings were an amazing blend of sweet and tangy, and although we were getting full we just had to eat them all. For dessert we had a skillet cookie, topped with vanilla ice cream and home made whipped cream. The cookie was so warm and chewy and the whipped cream was nice and thick so it didn’t run all over the place like most store bought kinda do. I was also impressed they had casa migos mezcal!!!
We sat at the bar last Friday, everything was outstanding! The bartender is fantastic, she was so friendly and just enjoyable to talk to. We had an appetizer, meal and desserts & the food was so delicious. Cannot wait to go back!
We loved the ambiance , reminded me of the farmhouse I grew up in from the 1840’s . The restaurant had great energy and vibrancy. We shared a wood fired margarita pizza and a few beers on tap , split the bill for 20 dollars each including tip. Quite a deal!! We found the pizza to be delicious . I found the attention from the team exceptional , and it was much appreciated.
Everything from the moment we got here was great. The atmosphere was very warm and the choice of music is great if it’s what you grew up listening to which I did. Our waiter, Paul, was excellent and recommended we dip our pizza into the beer cheese from our appetizer, it was delicious! We’ll definitely be coming back here soon!
The manager Paul took our reservation of 14 ppl and was very accommodating. Food came out quickly, drinks were delicious and the service was fabulous. Great place for a large party / birthday dinner.
Wow! Everything we ordered to go was amazing! We tried a couple pizzas which were cooked to perfection, wings that had perfect flavor and just enough crisp and the tater tots which were kind of like miniature hash patties with an awesome garlic sauce for dipping. Our friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was moist, flavorful and huge! Thank you, Jackie! Such an awesome experience. We can’t wait to dine in with you!
Ate here yesterday for the first time. We started with some cocktails and the crispy pork belly appetizer, which were excellent! My boyfriend had the peanut butter smash burger, which he was a little skeptical about at first, but throughly enjoyed. I had the crispy chicken sandwich, which is definitely one of the best in the area! The service was also great. We will definitely be back!
The stuffed chicken was off the hook. The crust was superb and the flavors went well together. The drinks were great works of art. I started with the 'why wouldn't ya', and tried the 'trees knees'. Both were amazing being a rye fan my favorite was the 'why wouldn't you', but couldn't help but think that the 'trees knees' was like a version of an adult orange Julius. I will happily come back and try a few of their other works of art and also a few more of their dishes. The truffle fries were amazing and I am catching hints of them as I drive away. Oh, and I came because I saw pictures of their poutine and somehow didn't get it.
The food was absolutely delicious! The owner was working that evening and he took great care of everything. Service was fast and great given there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. Definitely worth the try
Food was incredible, they have a real wood fire pizza oven and it makes the pizzas so worth getting. The burgers are awesome and perfectly cooked, the wings we delicious as was the sauce, one of the best Old Fashioneds I've had outside of NYC, and the dessert was even great even though they comped it since the batch came out a little weird (I don't know how it was off but I still loved it). Will absolutely be going back again.
Much better now than the old owner. Food quality is better. Atmosphere is better. Everything is just more relaxed. The old owners got all angry if you asked a question. It's nice to be able to ask without attitude. Will be back soon!!
Our meals were delicious. Hubby got the gnocchi & scallops. I added lobstah to my steak. Steak was done perfectly as requested. Lobstah was claw meat, my fav part. Our waiter was spot on with refills. Started with the calamari which is served with tartar sauce, very tasty.
Review: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Farmhouse Tap and Tavern, and I am thrilled to give it a glowing five-star review for its exceptional food, four stars for the service, and five stars for the atmosphere. It truly offers a delightful dining experience that combines delicious cuisine, a pleasant ambiance, and attentive service. Let's start with the food. The culinary offerings at Farmhouse Tap and Tavern are outstanding. The menu showcases a farm-to-table concept, featuring locally sourced ingredients that result in dishes bursting with flavor and freshness. Each bite was a testament to the quality and craftsmanship of the ingredients. From their succulent burgers and perfectly cooked steaks to their creative and flavorful vegetarian options, the attention to detail and dedication to culinary excellence were evident in every dish. Moving on to the atmosphere, Farmhouse Tap and Tavern creates an inviting and warm environment. The rustic yet modern decor, combined with the cozy seating arrangements, creates a comfortable and relaxed ambiance. Whether you're enjoying a meal with friends or having a romantic dinner, the atmosphere at Farmhouse Tap and Tavern sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. While the food and atmosphere were exceptional, I would rate the service as four stars. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable, providing helpful suggestions and accommodating any special requests. However, there were a few instances where the service could have been more attentive and prompt. Despite this minor drawback, the overall service did not significantly detract from the overall enjoyment of the meal. In summary, Farmhouse Tap and Tavern is a fantastic dining destination that deserves high praise. With its exceptional food, delightful atmosphere, and friendly service, it offers a memorable experience for food enthusiasts and those looking to savor a farm-to-table culinary journey. I highly recommend Farmhouse Tap and Tavern for a remarkable dining experience that will leave you satisfied and craving to return.
I really recommend the Farmhouse Tap + Tavern tap and tavern in altamont. What a culinary delight. Drinks were imaginative along with the menu. We shared lobster poutine , and the best calamari ever and I'm not a calamari fan. We had pizza with peaches , ricotta and prosciutto drizzled with honey. OMG. The girls got lemon oregano Salman with pesto couscous and a huge steak topped with lobster. The clan chowder was like straight out of Maine . We then shared chocolate creme brulee and dough bites. The setting is relaxed and home like ans paul our server was the best. Go have dinner there . You won't regret it. The owners are awesome too I must say. Tom Cruise stand in behind the mar mixing it up
We went to the Harry Potter themed dinner (7 courses!). We had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the courses were the perfect size to enjoy the food but still have room for the remaining courses. The cocktails were creative and so flavorful, my favorite was the pumpkin juice and our friends loved the butterbeer which was very popular. The employees were super welcoming. I wish I took pictures last night but you could tell the event was so well thought out. The theme showed in the food, drinks, costumes, decorations, and even the seating. We will definitely be back, I can’t wait to try more of what they have to offer.
Excellent experience all around! From the short notice reservation we made and them fitting us in to the expedient seating once we arrived followed by the amazing food and hospitable service I would highly recommend Farmhouse Tap + Tavern to anyone and everyone. Our server Paul was so lovely, had great recommendations, was extremely knowledgeable, was so personable and we didn’t want for anything the entire night. The shrimp scampi pizza was phenomenal, the touch of lemon made it perfectly balanced. The truffle tots were to die for and the mini milk jug the truffle aioli was served it were adorable. To finish the meal we tried the cookie skillet and maple creme brûlée and they were a perfect ending to a delectable meal! Overall, 10/10, will definitely return!
We came in with 6 adults and 2 children. They were very accommodating. The food was as amazing as the staff. The barria poutine, whipped ricotta and short rib grilled cheese 🧀 mouthwatering. The Manhattans and old-fashioneds were executed perfectly. We love this gem 💎. Thank you farmhouse!
Me and fiance went here for the first time last Thursday and wow. 10/10. The drinks and food was amazing. Best Mac and cheese we've ever had, we will definitely order that again next time we go. We also ordered the margarita pizza which was also really good. Then we ordered dessert and we got their skillet cookie and that was also amazing. Our waiter was also very good and attentive. The atmosphere had a really nice and cozy feel. We will be having regular date nights here, we were so impressed with everything.
What a cute little gem of a place! The owner was hosting when we dined, and she was extremely welcoming and down to earth. The short rib/beer cheese potato skins are absolutely phenomenal! Great burger, solid steak sandwich, and delicious wings. We will be back for sure! Went back about a month later, still excellent with some new menu additions for spring/summer. Loved the monstrous burger we shared...something 2.0? Shallots, baby spinach, fontina, and a great sauce!
Had dinner with the family here last night. Greeted by the friendly hostess and seated as soon as we walked in. Our server, Paul, was very friendly and very knowledgeable about menu items and drinks. Drinks came quickly and were promptly refilled when needed. Food was all amazing. Highly recommend the wings and short rib potato skins. Cute neighborhood restaurant. All staff members make you feel welcome! Will definitely be back!!
I’ve dined at Farmhouse since it first opened & it has been consistently delicious every time. The staff is friendly & attentive. I love how they switch their menu items per season & their drinks are always delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough. Give a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Had a great time and the food was delicious! My husband and I had the Korean Crispy Brussels (highly recommend!) and I had the Summer Salad which was amazing! If anything I wish the salad was a little bigger as I left wanting more it was sooo good! Overall great experience and highly recommend!
Farmhouse Tap & Tavern is an absolute gem. The food is consistently delicious, the drinks are well-crafted, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and elevated. You can truly feel the care and intention behind every detail. Nicole, the owner, goes above and beyond to create an exceptional experience, from the thoughtfully curated menu to the welcoming vibe and attentive service. It’s clear she takes great pride in making sure every guest feels taken care of. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual drink or a full meal, Farmhouse Tap and Tavern never disappoints. Highly recommend!
What an exceptional dining experience last night. We had a 7pm reservation, arrived early and took a seat at the bar. At 5 to 7 we were sat. Our server was outstanding, very attentive, knowledgeable and extremely efficient on a very busy night. The drinks were very good and the food was simply outstanding. The wood fired wings were better than any fried option out there. Taste and texture were spot on, we had the Maple Chipotle. The Riley and grilled chicken sandwiches were made with a lot of attention and care, ingredients were fresh and the flavor profile and textures amazing! This was my first visit definitely not my last. As a retired CEC, having spent many years in the kitchen and industry This is a winner!
Great dinner date spot! Food was amazing, gluten and vegan options available! (Allergy to both myself) Staff is very accommodating for food allergy, just not so much on a busy weekend night. Waitress could have been better, but I will definitely be coming back for a better experience!
Went with a larger party for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere is cozy. Lots of different rooms. The cocktails were delicious. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, stuffed potato skins, Chipotle sweet potato soup, and barbecue wings as starters. They were all fabulous. We then had Buffalo mac-n-cheese, a barn burger w/ side salad, harvest salad, meatball sub w/ side salad (on special), spicy chicken ala vodka over rigatoni (on special), and rotating crispy chicken sandwich as main courses. Very generous side salad portions. All of the food was delicious. Service and staff was quick, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going again.
We went here last night for the first time. And I really don’t write reviews but this place really deserves it. Our experience was all around an A+. The place is cute, clean and quiet. The food was delicious! I’m not much of a drinker but our bartender Tammy served us up a brand new drink the “PB&B” and we couldnt resist. Not only was Tammy an outstanding and friendly bartender, the entire staff was friendly and made us feel included. Nicole is really winning with this place!
Came for the first time for NYE. Firstly, the place is cozy and intimate, so a nice place to have dinner. Even with tables full it’s quiet. The food was all delicious and portions large. We enjoyed everything we had. Our service was great. All the staff was wonderful, especially our waitress Ashley. I definitely recommend and we will be coming back.
*underhyped* I don’t know that I’ve ever described a restaurant as such, but despite the plethora of great reviews I still feel that this place is underhyped considering the quality of not only the food itself, but the overall experience which we received during our visit last night. I admittedly messed up while booking our dinner reservation but the lovely hostess (I did not catch her name) was kind and accommodating and able to seat us despite there being a very full house. Paul, our server was attentive without being annoying. At no point were our drinks empty nor were we searching for him despite his having many other tables to attend to, and he was very clearly knowledgeable of the standard menu as well as the daily specials which were offered to us. The food itself was nothing short of magical (and I can find fault with nearly any plate put in front me)! From the presentation to the textures and flavors themselves, everything which we ordered (the daily special app of roasted Brussels Sprouts, as well as the whipped ricotta app, truffled lobster mac, and Farmhouse burger) was absolutely spot on. Honestly just the crostini itself was so delicious that I could probably eat just that plain for the remainder of my life and die a very happy girl! My husband, who orders a burger everywhere that we go said that the Farmhouse was the best burger that he could recall having gotten from anywhere, ever in his entire life. And after trying a bite myself I understand why he said this - not only was it actually cooked to a perfect medium rare, but the FLAVOR was exquisite! My lobster was tender and the truffle flavor was present without being overbearing. The sprouts were cooked perfectly and had such an amazing balance of sweet/spicy/smokey they easily could have been offered as a full and fulfilling entree. Chef Seth left us nearly speechless with these dishes and their execution. I honestly could carry on further with rave reviews but will let the pictures say the rest at this point. But all in all I would recommend Farmhouse Tap + Tavern to anyone. Support this local eatery which uses local foods. It is worth (more than) every penny!
We loved everything about this place. The location is right on the main street in town right across from a nice park that has summer concerts. The atmosphere is quaint with little rooms and lots of space but it doesn't feel packed and crowded. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. There are so many good menu options that we need to come again to try more. The drink menu was also hard to pick from and it drinks were all great too. It was raining the day we went but the patio looks very cute and we want to come back and try to sit outside next time. Would highly recommend the drive out to check this place out!
Went on a Thursday evening with no reservations and was able to get seating right away. The venue was very quaint and welcoming. There are separate dinning rooms which could be good for private parties or a more intimate dinner. For cocktails, we both got the peachy margarita drink special which was very yummy but not too peachy. We got the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese and the CT style lobster roll with truffle fries for dinner. Both were amazing! But the Mac and cheese was hands down the superstar! Our server was awesome! He was very tentative and informative. There is also a cute outdoor patio dinning area with a cheeky backdrop-great for a photo opp!! Can’t wait to go back!
We had a wonderful experience here last night for my Birthday dinner!! The food was excellent, I mean excellent & our server was very attentive & very friendly!! We can't wait to go back & try different menu items!! I'll say though those Lobster mozzarella sticks are to die for, highly recommend going here!!
Our first trip to the Farmhouse Tap + Tavern was for the special Addams Family tasting dinner tonight. The food was clever and delicious, and the cocktails (two Gomez specials and two One Way Tickets) were totally on point. We aren't fans of the credit card surcharge, but the quality (of both food and service) was excellent and we will definitely be back for a regular menu experience!
One of a kind little jewel. Kinda out of the way, but worth it! Very clean. Very busy. Friendly and attentive staff. Great selection. Cute details. Bar was very nice. Drinks were perfect. Pizza oven was cool. Ate at the bar because we got lucky. There were no open tables. Needed a reservation! Much bigger than it appears. Inside and outside seating. Lamb burger, smash burger, salads looked great. Prices are appropriate. Look forward to going back!
We had dinner with friends here last night. It was a quiet night due to weather. The atmosphere and music was great. Paul was our server and he was very attentive! He knew the menu well and was able to give us great suggestions. Our drinks were good. We ordered braised beef poutine, wings with farmhouse sauce, the crispy chicken sandwich, and the double trouble smash burger. Everything was hot and delicious!! We will be back… and will for sure save room for dessert!
Overall ok, but not impressed either. Ambiance is fun and appropriate country-chic with friendly service. A few highly anticipated beers out of stock was a disappointing way to start, but of course not a deal breaker. Roasted brussels and squash came out first and was extremely bland. No seasoning at all. Then about half way through we realized the dish wasn't complete per the menu description. It was missing the roast apples, chickpeas and dressing! We notified the waitress and she brought out a small bowl of chickpeas and dressing on the side. Still no roasted apples (we didn't bother her again), but felt like a weird way to resolve the issue. Dressing was the only flavor in the dish and felt uninspired / generically sweet. Wood fired wings were easily the stand out dish of the night. Juicy, smokey, crispy - excellent! Will come back just for the wings:) Chicken sandwich was solid and the burger was fantastic. Burger came out medium rare instead of medium... but thats ok:) Surf and turf was somewhat disappointing. Not sure what cut the steak was. It wasn't fillet as would be expected by the medallion description. It wasn't flavorful / marbled like a ribeye and wasn't tender like a fillet, but rather something in between (and not in a good way). I'm guessing it was probably a sirloin, but it seemed like a slice of London Broil. In hind sight I wish I asked but it was simply poorly executed and was medium-well and not medium-rare as requested. The small amount of adequately executed scallops and shrimp did not save the dish. Will definitely try again and will update accordingly!
We ordered out the first time and the pizza was delicious, light and crisp. However on the dine in experience things went a little south. The waiter was not attentive the entire time, we had to ask for refills, ask to place the order, and ask for a bill at the end. We sat there close to 25 mins after our meal was done- and finally had to grab someone running by to obtain the check. We will give you guys another chance as I don't know every situation, or what was going on internally that night there. The drinks also weren't balanced correctly, and I say this because I help design/consult new restaurants develop signature cocktails and or mixed drinks.
Farmhouse pizza. 4.5/5 Classic mac and cheese: 3.5/5 Classic burger. 3.5/5 Chicken sandwich. 2.75/5 Chicken sandwich: We found it underwhelming. We thought the chicken was thin and not proportional to the bun. The buns weren't warm; noticeably colder than the burger bun for example. Classic burger: Well cooked and a warm bun. Can't precisely say what we didn't love about it, maybe missing a sauce which is admittedly our fault for not requesting. We liked it more than the chicken sandwich and would order another of their burgers again. Farmhouse pizza: Very good, even the ricotta which most places butcher on pizza. These scores are all taking costs into account. Overall, we'd consider stopping in again to try other items on the menu (like the suggested smashburger) if we're in Altamont again. In NY it's also required that the prices shown are before any cash-discounts. "If the merchant lists the cash price only and puts up a notice about an applied service fee for credit card transactions, then they are in violation of New York state law and will face fines or consequences" Just to be clear, you can't simply say that there's a 4% fee on top of the shown prices. Legally, you're required to list the higher credit price (or both prices). Then you can state that there's a 4% cash discount applied to the shown credit price.
Went with family for dinner. I'm gluten intolerant and there weren't many options for me and the option of a gluten free pizza was off the table as their pizza oven was down. Aside from my dinner everyone in our party was happy with their meal.
The service was excellent! The regular pizza was delicious. Gluten free not so much but loved the toppings. I went with a group which was nice but couldn't do separate checks. 4% supposedly off if you pay in cash which I don't think we got. Nice location. Parking was good. I would come back!
Great spot in Altamont, we can't wait to go back and try the pizza once their oven is fixed. The spare ribs were excellent as was the burger, add in great cocktails and some good beer and you have a most enjoyable evening. The decor is pretty cool as well
The food quality is excellent, but would definitely benefit from more seasoning. We had the Classic Burger and the beef was super bland, as was the pulled pork mac. More sauce on the crispy chicken sandwich would have elevated it even further. We hope these improvements are made, as we would love to continue to eat at Farmhouse. We look forward to changing our 4 stars to 5!
Went to the stranger things night and was a great experience. The drink menu was awesome and you could tell the bartender put a lot of time and energy into that . It was a little pricey per drink but I think worth it if you only plan on getting one . The salad/calamari dish was posted on facebook as a “sneak peek” before the event and it made me super excited bc it looked great the salad served was not what was posted it was about 3 tiny pieces of calamari which was definitely disappointing because they hyped it up on facebook to be a lot more . The rest of the food was great the chicken and waffles and pizza were my favorite! The filet I wish they would have asked how I wanted it cooked bc it was super raw and bloody for my taste.the dessert needed work I’ve never had something so disgusting in my life I wish they didn’t try so hard and made an actual dessert or served the waffles as the dessert instead.I also want to add the servers and busboys were great super friendly , the owner herself even checked in to see how we liked it . The idea was a great idea, and we had a great date night all together! We definitely will be going again to experience the regular menu!
Nice place though we were seated by the door which had a breeze any time anyone opened the door. Ask for a table in one of the smaller rooms. My food was ok. Too much reliance on salt. Nothing got the serious yum from me or my partner
Not particularly impressed from our visit. Cute place with a small town feel but lacking in service and quality of food. Reservation was for 8pm but we came early for drinks. Bartender was very attentive and quick service. Drinks were good and priced well. We were sat at our table with drinks from the bar. Server introduced and asked if we were ready to order, we advised we needed an additional minute, but then they didn't come back for much longer than usually expected. It seems like since our reservatiom was so close to closing time, it felt like pur server was done for the night and didnt rewlly give us very much attention. Our drinks from the bar were well past finished when the server came back around for us to order a second round of drinks that didn't show up. We had to flag down after our food came and remined them we didnt get our drinks. One of our entrees were put in wrong so we had to wait for a remake and another entree we got was a chicken that spent a little too much time in a sous vide so the texture and flavor was very off. Wasn't satisfied with the chicken dish but waited for awhile and the server didn't come back around for a bit so ended up eating it due to hunger. Disappointed with the lack of attentiveness. I can understand we were the last reservation but we felt very forgotten for a Friday night. Burgers seems to be a good option for this place. Entress felt priced very high with very small portions. Dessert was typical but executed very well, cookie skillet was delicious. Would like to give this place another chance, maybe at an earlier time in the evening.
Not up to the hype. Rude hostess the food was okay not great. We called to see if we needed a reservation and we're told it was wide open when we got there 15 minutes later we had to sit in the bar area because the back was for reservations only
The food tasted good. I had a pastrami Reuben and my husband had the crispy chicken. He said his was good. Mine tasted good but I was disappointed in the size of the sandwich. LARGE thick slices of bread with only a couple pieces of pastrami. It didn’t have a lot of sauerkraut either. Honestly it was mostly bread. I’ve worked in restaurants were we served ruebens, and we always served them piled pretty high with the “good stuff” that goes in a rueben. This was just disappointing especially for the price. I would love to support a local restaurant but I would like to see the portions be better in line with the prices.
Been here a few times and we've enjoyed the food and service. I will say I was highly disappointed that we were told a lot of dishes were not available. We went to dinner on a Saturday night and the waiter mentioned more than once that since they are closed on Sunday and Monday they run out of things on Saturday. I'm sorry be we had reservations for 6:30 and they were out of quite a few dishes. For our party of four this was pretty disappointing. I expect dishes being out if I go out at 7:30 on a Sunday but for a peak dining out day and time I don't find that acceptable.
Steak was over rested, chewy and barely warm. Mashed potatoes were cold. Other things have been good but maybe stick to sandwiches or pizza.
My husband and I had dinner here for the first time last night (14-Dec) to celebrate my birthday and our experience was a bit mixed. To start with the positives – the restaurant is very nice, the staff was lovely, my cocktail was delicious, and the food tasted great. However, I want to point out that the main courses we ordered per the menu were not what we received. I ordered the duck breast with sweet potato polenta, cracked salt, cherry + fig whiskey compote, pistachio cream, roasted veg. I received a duck breast atop a cold cream, with compote, however instead of sweet potato polenta there was a pile of plain mashed potatoes, and the roasted veg looked to be sautéed green beans with cubes of steamed carrot. My husband ordered the steak medallions (sous vide sirloin), béarnaise sauce, roasted veg, roasted fingerlings. He received steak medallions with a sauce, again accompanied by a pile of plain mashed potatoes (instead of roasted fingerlings), sautéed green beans with cubes of steamed carrot. When the server brought us a menu he did specify that they were out of one dish, and that the new menu started the next day, but there was no mention of any other substitutions so we were a bit surprised to receive the above dishes. That said, both of our meals were delicious, and we ate every bite, but I was disappointed that I didn’t receive the dish I had been looking forward to for several days, and there was no heads up that we would receive anything different than the menu items. Had that been the case we may have ordered differently. I didn’t take any photos or make a fuss at the time because that’s not how I operate, and I contemplated even leaving a review because the food was cooked well and tasty, but having had a night to mull it over it seemed right to share our experience, if only so that the owners/managers will be aware and be more transparent with their customers about their dishes. As much as I want to support local businesses, I’m not sure I want to return to a restaurant that isn’t delivering on what they are advertising.
I was excited to take my husband here for his birthday dinner. The food was pretty good, the cocktails were also pretty good although very pricy. Nothing really wow’s us. I was disappointed that the children’s menu prices on-line are less than their in restaurant prices- there’s really no excuse not to update a website. When I walked in I let the hostess know it was my husband’s birthday and asked if they do a birthday dessert. She said yes and to mention to our server. When i did he said “we don’t really do a birthday dessert and I’m pretty sure we are out of candles.” Again, not that big of a deal, but just added to everything else being fairly “meh”. The server came over once, just was not personable. Very stoic. Did his job, but I felt like a bother when I asked for chocolate milk for the kids dinner when he forgot to bring it over. Overall 4 is a very fair rating.
Martinis were great but hugely expensive! We like a well made drink/ which it was/ but $20. ? Also, food excellent- service excellent- but it is way too loud! You can’t have a conversation without screaming with your companions..Find a way to dampen sound..
Limited beer menu and service was extremely slow. Our server Thomas was absolutely excellent though. The pizza and smashburger were delicious but the macaroni and cheese was cold. Overall the menu is very good but not sure that we will return.
*Edit from original review* I'm updating my review because the owner reached out to me almost immediately upon posting this. Jackie rectified the issue with my card being double charged with the bill and she was extremely professional and understanding. She even provided us a gift card out of her own volition (totally not necessary, but we really appreciated that gesture). The restaurant took full accountability, which goes a long way. They have some kinks to work out, but we'll definitely give them another visit soon because we really did enjoy their food. Their wood fired wings were delicious! ********** Listen, my husband and I have been seeing the mixed reviews recently, but we really wanted to give it a try because it looked really good and it's in Altamont close to us so we wanted to support local business. We went Friday night and I left thinking, "hm alright, not their best night, but maybe they were understaffed and couldn't handle the rush." I walked out thinking I'd give them another try. That has now changed. Until their service gets better, I'm not returning. Food was amazing, 10/10 to the kitchen. Pizza and wings were absolutely great. Our service? 1/10. Our server barely returned to check on us. He never came back with water when I asked. He returned with my husband's cocktail 30 min later when we were already done with our dinner. Our food came out 55 min after we ordered. Everything seemed so delayed and we were sitting there forever. Looking at my bank account, I also now see that I've been charged TWICE with the bill by the restaurant. Come on man. So now I have to wait until they open to call them about this; otherwise, I have to dispute this with my bank. I understand the difficulty of operating a restaurant, so I'd like to give grace, but when you make mistakes like this especially for a bill that was over $100, this isn't okay. I'd advise other diners to check they weren't double charged either.
The vibe is not what we expected. The Farmhouse is for marketing only, there is nothing farmhouse about it, but it was a bucket list place to go and try out, so we did. The service was congenial, friendly and professional, but seemed like they couldn't be attentive and were stressed, probably because the rooms are divided in ways that makes it difficult to attend to tables. However, the staff, servers, and runners didn't seem to know the menu that well and put off when questions were asked. There was no, "let me ask the kitchen/chef." Definitely over-priced, especially the New England clam chowder soup @ $9 (pictured). I asked if it had been sitting around all day and separated, but she had no clue what I was talking about. It came out as fine as a can of Progresso or Campbells soup. So, editable and not exceptionable. Overall, the Farmhouse Tap & Tavern is close to farms, but they seemingly have nothing to do with them. I'll consider this to be upscale pup. The menu is not ground breaking, but well-executed for what it is. I would eat here again if someone really wanted to go, but wouldn't make a point to go back. I don't think they were pretending to be something they weren't. This is my personal impression and experience.
Had dinner last week- mac and cheese was kinda weak - over cooked pasta and bland taste- our server was kinda slow too - i asked for an additional drink - never came - never asked if out food was ok after we got the meal
The food was fairly good but, it took over an hour for it to come out. My pizza was prepared and then left out for quite some time as it arrived to me at room temp. Our waiter although kind, was not attentive at all and did not check on us unless specifically called over. The kitchen/bar continued to tell the hostesses that there was a 20+ minute wait and they proceeded to seat more groups of people. Prices were too high for that quality service. Im sure it was because they were just short staffed but witnessing the hostess/waiters completely ignore the kitchen/bar telling them not to sit people, while we were waiting forever to get our food was incredibly disappointing.
Girlfriend is active in a local foodie group and was excited to try this restaurant. We arrived and were promptly seated outside. It was a nice evening but the first sign of things to come was that our waitress took 15 min to make it to our table. Not the end of the world by itself and we just brushed it off. Definitely have had this happen at other restaurants that ended up being worth it. After we ordered two entrees the waitress came back about 30 min later and said the kitchen "messed up" but that our food would still be right out. 20 min after this I am advocating for McDonald's. Many additional minutes pass and the hostess at the front tells us we were forgotten about after we asked, but again assured us the food will be right out. Don't know how that can be possible if we were "forgotten about", but we continued waiting. The food comes out about 15 minutes after alerting the hostess and I am almost positive they shut down the kitchen until we reminded them we were waiting for our food. It was nearing 8pm which is when they close, I believe. When our food did arrive, a runner delivered a sad-looking pizza and the other dish consisted of lukewarm, fatty meat with unappetizing collard greens. Despite not being picky, it was almost inedible. I seriously estimate over 50% of the cut was fat. I also had to go back in to get silverware which was the cherry on top. In summary, we arrived before 6pm and didn't receive our food until just before 8pm, after multiple reminders and check-ins. It was a baffling experience. The restaurant did remove the pizza from our bill, which we appreciate. However, we regretted our visit and won't be returning. This was easily the worst dining experience I've had in the Capital Region
My burger was indelible due to being raw. I ordered it medium rare. The salad ordered was absolutely drenched in dressing. Imma big boy and do not mind lots of dressing but holy cow this was awful. Cajun fries had nothing Cajun about them. Maybe the cooks forgot? Beer list kinda sucked was hoping for something more. The cocktail I ordered was absolutely delicious, would get that again times 40. Waitress and staff was super nice. The room we were put in was not great. I had to listen to the annoying couple from NYC about their time in upstate blah blah blah. Overall needs work on their food. I like the concept but poor execution. Too expensive to not get the basics rights.
Service was fantastic, but food was so-so. Ordered the roasted vegetable panini and it came out cold and soggy, but the fries came out good. Farmhouse lemonade would’ve tasted better if it were properly mixed. Place gets a bit loud and it’s hard to hear over everyone. Edit// Went back with a friend and had the crispy chicken sandwich which was delicious!! Did takeout another time and it was good. Still minus a star for how crowded the place gets. Second edit// Changing review - owner’s attitude on social media over having her restaurant critiqued is extremely unprofessional.
The food was not good, way too salty. We were both really hungry but just picked at our food. The waitress was clearly disinterested when I expressed that the food wasn’t very good. Service was friendly but not attentive. Never again. Please note that I generally only give 5 star reviews or no review.
We drove 3 hours to go to the NYE Wizard dinner, which was severely overpriced & disappointing. The announcement said we’d be ringing in the new year, so we expected a party and to countdown the new year at the restaurant. But when I asked if the event is going into the new year, the waitress nastily said they close at 9. I thought the experience of ringing in the new year was part of the price…. What exactly did we pay so much for?!?! The whole thing was a joke! They forgot the goat cheese and dressing in the salad. The soup was cold. We sent it back and when it came back it still wasn’t hot and the waitress was so rude about it. We asked for little ice in our drinks, we got extra ice. Then the fire alarm went off three times. No one knew what to do, should we leave?!? No one came to explain, apologize or said anything about it. Some ppl left after this. There were 8 courses in total, three were tiny. But none of it would explain why the meal cost so much, none of it was expensive. Last time I checked a dry tiny scone, a microscopic riblet, a few frisee leaves (without goat cheese) surrounded in a ring of phyllo dough, a cold soup with a deli sliced piece of cheese thrown on top, a small drumstick with spatzle, a teaspoon of super dry mashed potatoes, a few small pieces of short rib with a few microgreens, a tiny clotted cream tart, and a dessert mess for a toddler…. Aren’t worth $139. They literally put plastic shower curtains down on ur table and slathered a variety of sauces on it, then lit up a marshmallow on a candlestick that burned for 5 seconds. I asked what each sauce was and the girl had no idea….. she left then returned a few minutes later cuz she forgot to give us a chocolate ball which she smashed and half of it fell on the ground and she ran away. The waitress forgot to give us spoons so we ate with our fingers. I asked three times for a water refill before I finally got one. Then we left at almost 9pm and they were still seating people. I thought they closed at 9, as the waitress rudely said. I’m still puzzled at what exactly we paid $139 for…. I feel like we got bamboozled….
Was just there tonight . TOTAL waste of money . To say I’m “disappointed would be a complete understatement. I don’t know where to even begin. I’m SURE they know who this was and good ! They should . My husband felt as if our waiter was racist towards him or clearly had an issue. He was EXTREMELY rude and had zero PR skills. We basically had to throw or orders to him . NOT ONCE we’re we asked if we needed anything , the food was cold , it was actually pretty bad if I'm being honest . The cookie skillets were quite literally the WORST cookies I have EVER had. I wish I was exaggerating but , I have no reason to lie . We are foodies and desert people who travel up and down the whole state of New York and I’m telling you it was hard to finish … my husband and I are not “rude “ or confrontational so we kept it polite and left quickly and quietly. Aside from the service being horrendous, the wait time was absolutely ridiculous. People all around us were served BEFORE US that had just arrived . Lastly , the “manager” came over bc supposedly someone told her we were waiting a while for our appetizer but offered nothing in return. I’ve got to say we have been to “lower caliber “ restaurants that offer a dessert on the house or discount or SOMETHING when they mess up. Nope! I guess not here . Sorry to be the negative Nancy just being honest . Came here with high hopes due to their social media … left feeling completely scammed. Do better please .
Visited for the first time. Stay away from the macaroni and cheese. It was pretty much macaroni with barely any cheese at all very disappointed.
First time back here in almost a year. We ordered take out. Walked out with my $80 worth of food, got to my car and found that one meal was missing. We ordered 2 Buffalo Mac and cheese and a burger. We use to rave about the buffalo Mac and cheese but this was so dry and missing some of the normal ingredients they used to put on it. As soon as I took the lid off I could tell it was not what it used to be. The burger was very hard also, my wife couldn't eat it. We Spent a lot of money and were extremely disappointed. Needless to say, this will be the last time I waste money eating here. Nice atmosphere is the only positive thing I can say about this place. I will continue to share my negative experience about this establishment. * I'll contact the management as they suggested and post the results of that conversation to this review 2/3/2026 - Contacted management via email as asked to do 3 days ago. Have not heard back.
We have been patronizing this place for about 2 years and we have had maybe 3 good experiences. Tonight was the nail in the coffin for us-my gf went to the restroom as soon as we were seated and as soon as her butt hit the chair the waitress/bartender (tall blond thin woman) came over and asked what we wanted to drink- we asked for another minute and she rudely said "kitchen closes in 15 minutes"- we felt so uncomfortable like we were a huge inconvenience and this is the second time we have been served be her and had this happen. The food is good but the service SUCKS. Your job is to serve people and make them feel welcomed, not like they are a burden to you. I would have happily spent hundreds on food and drinks tonight but she left such a sour taste kn my mouth that we will not be coming back again. Such a pity. I dont take google reviews lightly as a small business owner but seriously, get it together. Customer service isnt that hard
