A newer location and farther up the island than YaYa, this Cafe offers a variety of dim sum as well as 烧蜡, with duck, pork, and chicken offerings. They also have some pre-made bao buns and other items in refrigerators in the store, which you can grab and go. The food is excellent, with the chashu being my highest recommendation. It is delicately sweet and toothsome. Even the leaner cuts are tender. It is recommended that you come for lunch, as dinner is when things tend to slow down and you want fast service and hot food that has not been waiting to be sold all day. They have new dim sum items like fried taro and sweet potato rolls, all of which are recommended as well. They come hot to the table and are deliciously crispy. The staff are usually only 3 women so please do have some patience. They got our order wrong once and gifted us some beef ribs, which was so nice of them. There is also no self-service tea, so you will need them to pour for you. Overall, a great spot for lunch. Reasonable prices and good food!
Came here late Sunday Afternoon and it was popping! Every table was full by the time we sat down. Service was super quick, from ordering to our food being served was about 15 minutes. We got the three bbq appetizer platter (scallion chicken, bbq duck, and suckling pig). Holy the scallion chicken was so juicy and tender and the scallion sauce added just the right amount of flavor. We got the rice noodle wrapped fried dough. The fried dough was super crispy and the rice noddle was super silky (reminded me of dim sum places I had in China :)) The leek shrimp dumplings came out piping hot and juicy. My boyfriend and I kept saying mmmm the whole time with each bite. Last but not least, you could really taste the WOK HEI in the beef chow fun. Every noodle was coated with sauce. The portion was so big we had a lot to take home after.😌They also have a wide selection of Chinese baked goods which we did also grab some to go and oofff was it delicious. Can’t wait to be back and overall extremely happy to not have to make the drive to Bk for bbq meats! 🥰
The food was tasty and fresh! The place is small, but the service is great. It was a little busy at the time but we were quickly seated. We ordered and everything came by faster than we thought. The small tables were barely able to fit everything. Despite how quickly everything came, they definitely didn't rush anything as every was hot and delicious. Comparable to the places, I've had dim sum in Brooklyn and maybe even better. They also sell meat and fresh pastries on the sides of the resturant. You can even purchase tins of tea for your home. Definitely would love to go again.
I have to update my review from 3 stars to 5 stars. The food has been very consistent and tasty the last 6 times I've visited since 5 months ago. The ladies at the counter are nice. Food is great. Love their duck and roasted crispy pork. The place is too small to each in, I alway take out.
Everything is so good. I’ve been coming here for a year now and it’s always reliable. Fresh and delicious!
So glad that this place in Staten island. No need to go to Brooklyn for the same dish. The place is a little bit small but they have decent design to maximize available space usage. They have some Chinese buns. Food has large portion and worth ever penny. Staff is nice and friendly. Avoid rush hour for overcrowding
I'm very happy that there's really traditional Chinese food was grand opening in island. I've tasted tonight. It was really surprised me. The quality and taste was so great than other Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn. I strongly recommend you guys coming and try. You won't be disappointed it.
I am so happy we have delicious authentic Cantonese style Chinese food on Staten Island now. Every week my family and I go here at least twice a week. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and big Portions. All the staff are wonderful and so accomodating. The owners are also so Appreciative of their clients. Everything is so delicious there. Our favorites are roast duck yellow noodle soup, Soy sauce chicken leg flat white noodle soup and rice with crispy pork and soy sauce chicken. We also are fans of sponge Cakes and roast pork buns. You really cannot go wrong here. Tip: pay cash and it Will be a lower price
This cafe has authentic Cantonese food and it is SO delicious! The star of the show is their roast pork, roasted pig (crispy skin), and roast duck leg! Other items we ordered: Asian vegetables (choy sum), beef fried noodle, shu mai, shrimp rice noodle, and chicken feet. They have sauces on the table for you (soysauce, chili oil, hot sauce). They do sit down (4 seaters and a bar stool area) or take out. They also have a selection of steam buns that you can take home to steam (bbq roast pork bun, pork bun, chicken bun etc), we got the steam pork bun and it was delicious! It had bits of shrimp in it too! We microwaved it at home. They also have baked goods like pineapple bun, custard pineapple bun, hot dog bun and so on. Prices are reasonable! I will come back! The staff are so nice and attentive. When you come here you MUST get a roasted meat with rice!!! Staff speaks English, Cantonese, and mandarin. They have a parking lot. Credit card (no extra fee) and cash accepted. For people who don’t usually eat this and don’t know what to order: —Entrees: get the roast pork over rice, crispy beef noodles (stir fry), wonton noodle soup with wonton in soup, beef chow fun (dry or gravy style) —Dimsum: egg tart (like Portuguese egg tarts), shrimp dumplings, siu mai —Drinks: ice lemon tea (will taste like ice tea)
Haven’t tried their dimsum yet but the regular dishes are pretty good and the workers are so nice!! would definitely recommend trying they also sell bread and frozen 饅頭. Whoever said their big bao was raw doesn’t realize you’re supposed to steam it at home after you buy it !! It comes like that !!
Amazing service. Came in early in the morning and ordered on their dim sum menu. Tasted exactly what you would get at an authentic dim sum restaurant. Interior and bathroom is also kept clean which is a plus!
I ordered two of the 3 choices bbq combination over rice and it was the best I’ve had in NYC! I was very surprised by the huge portions. It was super tasty and authentic. I will definitely order from this place again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfort spot in Staten Island
Delicious, huge portions, and not expensive. What more could you want.

Small place, excellent food. They sell fresh pastries, buns, etc. A lot of takeout.
Staten Island finally has a real Chinese BBQ place. No more dragging my old self to Brooklyn. The roast pork and duck were spot on. Noodle soups were good, nice clean broth. I'll be back soon for pork buns.
I forgot to take pictures because I was busy eating…the service was so nice and I loved the dim sum! It was so delicious. Please pay a visit!!
I had Rosted pig and roast duck combinations overRice for under $10 . It is delicious and will definitely come back when I am in town
Authentic, tasty, and great prices for the amount you get! They had a mix of dim sum and buns as well as traditional noodle, meat, and veggie dishes that are all cooked simply but perfectly. I'm from Northeastern China and rarely see some of these offerings in American restaurants. Such a pleasant meal with the sweetest waitress, we'll definitely be back!
1468 Hylan Cafe is a must-visit neighborhood spot! The food is absolutely phenomenal — fresh, delicious, and never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. Service is friendly and attentive with minor room to improve. One of the best cafes in the area — highly recommend!

Updated Review (5/7/2024): After returning, I have to say that they’ve definitely listened to their customers’ feedback! Food is piping hot especially for dine in, and food is prepared fresh. I try out their dim sum, and they’re surprisingly well made in house. I love their Shrimp Dumplings! The congee is also pretty good. It’s not watery, and the level of saltiness is just right. Keep up the good work! Original Review (5/2/2024): 1468 Hylan Cafe recently opened, and it’s great to see another restaurant that not only offers Chinese BBQ roast meat, but also dim sum and baked goods! A good variety indeed, but unfortunately it falls a little short on certain categories. Let’s start with the positives. Their Wonton Noodle Soup is highly recommended! The soup is great, the noodle isn’t clumped together or over prepared (it’s pretty firm), and the wonton filling is decent. Their Brined Pork Belly is pretty crispy and not too salty. However, there is a bit of rawness to it (slight red on certain portion), yet very edible. It’s probably their best tasting meat so far on their Siu Mei menu. Now for the negatives. I have tried the classic Chicken & Broccoli over Rice, and it’s just so and so. The dish is cold, and there’s not enough sauce. The chicken is also pretty dry. Broccoli is also not fresh. I also order a Spareribs & Broccoli over Rice, and again, not enough sauce and needs more seasoning. Overall, it’s a decent restaurant. Hopefully, they refine their menu and meal preparation. Food needs to be hot!

2025.11 this is the second dim sum restaurant you can find on Staten Island, a small restaurant. you could also have roast duck or roast pork
The first time I came here they served me cold duck but i overlooked it because the flavor was really good so I gave them another chance, the second time around the duck was cold yet again the pork buns were disappointing the soup had a very fishy smell and taste. I told them the duck was cold and they took it away and brought me back the same bowl and it was not even luke warm, also i dont think they wash the bok choy. Probably wont be returning.

Do not eat here! I placed an order of char siu, and they proceeded to give me char siu that was purely fat (see photo for reference). Mind you, the butcher has to look at what he is cutting, so he was entirely aware of what he gave to me. We called to address this issue and they responded by yelling at us and blaming us for wanting fatty char siu. We did not order fatty char siu but they kept saying we did. Even if we did order them to be fatty, they quite literally cut us a slab of fat and gave it to us. This is unacceptable and the business seems to cut corners to save money.

This restaurant was good before. Now it’s getting worse and worse. We ordered via Ubereats or phone more than five times. They gave us the wrong orders. We didn’t get what we paid for. I am going to blacklist this restaurant.
