Hands down, Florina is my favorite pizza shop in Boston! New York-style slices, quick and efficient service, unassuming little shop feel. When you get a slice, it’s got the perfect crisp, no flop, and a slight tanginess to the sauce that I absolutely love. Their caprese sub is also really good, I always add prosciutto to it and ask for balsamic added. The sub roll is always soft and the tomato la fresh, and the mozzarella is so creamy. My only knock is that they aren’t open late or on weekends! Go visit and get a slice!!
Oh Florina, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Impeccable crust, perfectly loaded toppings, quick but friendly service, the St Barth’s, the big windows, the fabulous red sauce, the neighborhood feel, the giant slices, the fact that they remember you if you come in regularly. This truly is a GEM, and deserves all the hype. My favorite pizza in Boston!
Great pizza. Low-key vibe. And the owner consistently goes above and beyond: Was just grabbing a pizza and overheard him on the phone with a customer, who didn’t expect one of the ingredients in an off-menu pizza, asking “What can I do to make this right for you?”
Great sandwiches, pizza and pasta. Look out for the rotating specials. Consistently some of the best food around. Lunch or dinner, definitely a neighborhood staple. The crew puts personal touch and quality to the fore. Definitely visit if in the area.
We found this place just by searching “Best Pizza in Boston” and understand why Florina came up. We got the Garden pizza and it absolutely did not disappoint!! The crust was memorable. The atmosphere was lively, many people coming and going. The dining size is quite tight; our table was right next to the line of people ordering (felt like they were on top of us). I wish we were able to eat with real tableware (paper plate and plastic cutlery) and that wine was served (no alcohol served). Overall, if you’re going just for the pizza- do it!
Florina Pizza – A Must-Visit Gem in Boston Overall Rating: 9.2/10 Florina Pizza stands out as one of the best pizza spots in Boston. Each quarter-slice—generously sized and priced at just $4.50—offers excellent value, and the deal of a complimentary drink with the purchase of two slices adds even more appeal. The pizza itself boasts a well-balanced cheese-to-sauce ratio, and their specialty slices are particularly noteworthy for their creativity and flavor. Impressively, two people can enjoy a satisfying meal here, including a drink, for under $15. Florina delivers on both taste and value. Don’t hesitate to visit—this place truly hits the mark.
What can I say? This is easily among the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I had no idea this place even existed until I randomly walked in for a slice while out on a walk and I’m so glad I did. Talk about a hidden gem. That five-dollar slice is basically three slices in one. Generously sized, perfectly crispy on the bottom, and with a crust that hits the sweet spot between chewy and crunchy. The sauce is rich and flavorful, the cheese is well-balanced without being greasy, and everything just works together beautifully. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Boston, this place is worth the stop. I’ll definitely be coming back and next time I’m getting a whole pie. P.S. the music was spot on!
This place was super busy; the line was out the door but I was able to get a seat by the window to dine in. I got the meatball to start, which was served in a bowl which was an interesting presentation! It was soft and juicy, I could have eaten 2 easily. I also got the lasagna, which took about 15 mins to prepare. It all tasted fresh, and homemade; very enjoyable!
I was a block away from my first trip to Florina when it hit me- the unmistakable, tantalizing, god-given scent of freshly baked pizza. After a short wait in a longish line I picked up two slices of this bad boy and even though I CAN EAT, I still ended up with leftovers. The service was quick, friendly and efficient, no complaints there. Not many places to sit so keep that in mind if you're planning on eating in. I'll be back!
Stopped in for a quick tourist lunch while we were out on the town and were not disappointed! I had three meatballs and my s/o had a quarter (giant) slice of roni. Both meals were incredible and were made even better by the knowledgeable and thoughtful service of the man running the counter! Much props to this place, will be back next time we’re in Boston.
Great local Sicilian pizza spot in Beacon Hill. I’ve been making the occasional stop to Florina for lunch over the past two years, and let me tell you, it’s a slice above the rest—except maybe a few spots in the North End. During peak lunch hours, the lines can get quite long, so I usually just grab a slice or two for takeout. I’m loyal to their Sicilian slices, so I can’t comment on the regular ones, but the Sicilian has the perfect amount of crunch, and the bottom crust doesn’t flop— just the way I like it. I also occasionally swing by for a late lunch when I’m in the mood for a sandwich or pasta, and most of what I’ve tried hits the spot with its straightforward goodness. One of my favorites is "That" sandwich, loaded with a satisfying hunk of breaded chicken, roasted red peppers, and a drizzle of white balsamic vinaigrette. The chicken cutlet itself is decent, but it’s the classic combo that really makes it cluck. When it comes to pasta, I usually go for the Linguine Pesto—it’s always a winner. On the other hand, their tomato/ plum sauce-based pastas sometimes turn out a bit too watery. The sauce doesn’t cling to the rigatoni, which leaves the dish a bit bland. As for the arancini, I found it to be just meh. Since it’s premade and reheated, it lacks that crispy, golden crunch. If you find yourself near Boston Common, I highly recommend carbing up with their sandwiches, pesto linguine, or a slice of Sicilian pizza.
I visited this charming and authentic pizza place in Boston recently. The quality of the pizza was evident in every bite, and it was freshly made with good ingredients. The staff was friendly and welcoming. This place was announced as the "Winner Best Pizza 2018 & 2019". The pizza was very yummy, and I couldn't resist taking a bite before I could even take a photo. The location is also lovely, and the owner adds charm to the atmosphere. We chatted about football, which added a nice personal touch to my visit. I plan on returning the next time I'm in Boston.
Great arancini. Really cool atmosphere. Pizza is good. Good sauce, dough and cheese. My only gripe and its nitpicky, is that the cornmeal covered crust gives it a papa ginos vibe. They have really good dough, sauce and cheese recipe and great gas ovens with a stone, they don't need to do that. Pizza would be a 8.5 or so, if they just threw it on the stone without the cornmeal IMO.
Fantastic New York style pizza, probably the best homegrown take on it in the Greater Boston area. These slices made this New Jersey pizza fanatic very happy. For the regular pie, they do the "one slice is actually two slices" thing that I've only ever encountered in Boston, so just beware that one slice is actually quite a lot of 'za. Four stars overall instead of five due to the limited hours. (Closed weekends and by 8pm on weekdays? Really?? Just a reminder that you're actually in Boston and not in NYC.)
Made the drive out from NYC to try Florina pizza. I've heard rave reviews about this place & as a pizza lover I had to come try some. I got the regular & Sicilian. I loved the regular slices. They were crispy & thin with a delicious blend of cheese. The sicilian slice tasted just average to me. Street parking is impossible here as it's in the heart of the historic Beacon Hill section of downtown Boston so you'll want to look for a parking garage with decent rates. I took the risk & parked next to Boston Common Park where the signs read "Tow Zone" & Residential permit parking only" but be careful, lol. This pizza shop is one of Bostons finest so go ahead & give it a try.
Pizza was very good! I love a good thin crust. It’s small inside, but they have a decent amount of seating! Don’t get the meatball with peas in it. I personally did not like the taste, and I wasn’t sure why it came in a big metal bowl. Maybe I’m missing something. Other than that, my husband and I loved stopping here for lunch.
