It’s brooklyn not japan so the sushi isn’t going to be extraordinary but ITS DAMN GOOD. Very worth it for the price too. WAYYY less expensive than all the other sushi places in the bk. Sushi is always fresh and very affordable to me. The gentlemen know me and always allow me to modify my order. Ordering on phone is a bit difficult cause the girls keep changing and i get tired of explaining my order changes but also worry order will be wrong. Last visit I asked for extra unagi and was told $1 extra which I didn't mind paying so i paid with zelle, but never received it... nonetheless I hope this business stays around for a long time. It's out of the way for me but definitely worth the drive everytime!

I order from here all the time, but I decided to go in person for a lunch date. It was delicious, and they have the best prices in the neighborhood, which is pretty competitive! Everything was fresh, the place was super clean and bright, and the staff was friendly. Order and pay at the counter, everything was very easy, and again, delicious! Love their party trays (love that you can customize them, it’s a really good way to feed a lot of people) and their combos. 11.95 for 3 rolls, sushi, AND soup. I don’t think you can get this type of delicious nutrition anywhere else for cheaper. Thank you J San Sushi 2. I neglected to mention that they also have really yummy special rolls. I love sashimi and sushi (raw) too much so I can tell if a piece of salmon or tuna is fresh just by looking at it! Their prices are really affordable: I LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE I HAVE TO TAKE THE TRAIN FOR TWO HOURS TO GET TO BROOKLYN It's really worth the trip because their sushi is really delicious 😋 Fortunately I have a friend nearby and after buy I can go to her house to eat and travel again two hours to return to my house 😂 Prices have remained the same since this place opened. This is a great sushi takeout spot in Bensonhurst. The quality is definitely comparable to Longevous Joy down the street. There’s 3 tables and a counter bar area. Don’t expect tea or water to be given; it’s not exactly a restaurant. You order at the counter and everything is in takeout containers but you’re welcome to sit down and eat there. The salmon was very buttery and were generous thick slices. I liked that there’s torched sushi options and it was delicious! The kani tempura roll was great and the J San combo 3 was filling. Overall, a great spot for takeout sushi and reasonably priced!

I love their eel sushi here, it doesn't have as much bones as other places do. I always order their party trays. Highly recommend for big parties. However, the place is small so order ahead of time or expect it to take a while for it to be prepared.

Decent sushi. Would be a 4* if they didnt consistently forget my spicy mayo. I pay extra for spicy mayo and they just dont include it in my order. This has happened more than once. Getting spicy mayo in my orders now. Thanks.

The party tray is super worth it. For like 35$ you get like 10 rolls. Love they put a lot ingredients and not too much rice, but one thing is that the rice is a bit on the harder chewy side..wish it is lil bit more softer. Still a great neighborhood take out spot. Walk in store front ia very clean and neat that is a huge plus!

The small restaurant is located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. They prepare Japanese cuisine. The sunomono appetizer consisted of octopus, kani, salmon, tuna, red snapper and ponzu sauce. Numerous small pieces of fish were sliced and placed in a tray. They have soups, salads, appetizers, poke bowls, entrees and party trays. The party tray F included four regular sushi tolls, nine pieces of sushi and sashimi. The sushi was well-prepared, fresh and good value. Friendly and helpful staff.

We decided to stop by here after hearing a friend rave about this spot. I like how there were a lot of combos at this sushi spot (more on the affordable side). We got combo G and a lunch sashimi set (L2). This was a pretty small sushi spot but we were lucky to get seating. Would recommend to get sushi to go (would also be great for take out for parties or events). Overall it was great but we would try a different combo platter. Would definitely come back here again!

Ordered online for delivery. Not that far away. Took 1hr and 30 mins to get my order. The sushi was ok not great the sushi rice was also very disappointing not much flavor. Also crab Rangoon was also not great the cream cheese in the fill came out for most of them from holes in the wrapper.

The sushi is so so, too much sauce on the rolls it tasted soggy. Chickirun on 86th st is better even though pricier. The wait time at JSan is wayyy too long, they need to hire more people to work, not everyone got 45-60 mins to spare during lunchtime waiting for their food. I think people just come here for convenience and cheaper price.

This is just a personal preference but they put too much mayo in their torched sushi set, torched bowls, and spicy salmon / tuna / white tuna rolls. They also didn’t fully defrost all their fish when I ordered a sashimi platter. This might’ve been because I ordered near the end of the day so maybe I’ll give it another chance. Otherwise the price and service were good.

I love J San sushi place, and I come there pretty often, because I really liked the way workers are treating customers, and making food fast. this is why I decided to go there today again, but there was a really mean cashier woman. I asked her to give me additional pack of rice for my miso soup, because this is what I always get. She said okay, and then I get my order and came home, I saw only rice. I came back, and told her that I asked for the miso soup and rice, and not just rice. And said that no, and for rice I need to pay. I know that I need to pay, maybe this is why I said additional to my order. And after I said all that to her, she said that for a small cup of rice I need to pay 2$, even though on a menu it’s supposed to be a big one, not the tiny she gave. So I just said that, and she started yelling and showing me her attitude, doing everything so aggressively. She took the rice, and almost was yelling at me. I really want to know the days she work. Because I would never show myself there again, if she would be there. It’s the most mean person I ever seen

Spicy tuna roll and ginza roll was very dry and tough. I had to threw away the last 4-5 pieces. Food quality has dropped significantly since I ordered when it first open.

When they 1st opened up I made an order of one of the platters (D) .. I ended up getting the same thing a few times afterwards because it was pretty good... Fast forward a few months... this time I enter and make my order instead of calling in for pickup... I place my order and they said "20 minutes" I said ok ... I didn't expect it to be ready in 5 anyway. Remember that I said that I pickup the same and only platter that I order from their menu... So I step out because I don't like standing around or over people.. I come back in and it was "almost ready "...... Here's the fun part 😄 : THE OLDER MAN THAT WAS TRAINING THE GUY WITH THE GLASSES HOW TO MAKE THE ROLLS AND TOLD HIM TO DEEP FRY THE SHRIMP ROLLS HAD SHARED A COUPLE OF COMMENTS AND REMARKS ABOUT ME IN THEIR DIALECT... I WANTED TO BLOW UP ON THEM THEN AND THERE , BUT I HELD BACK... THEN I HEARD HIM MENTIONING SOME ROLLS THAT WASN'T PART OF THE PLATTER , BUT THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT BECAUSE THEY HAD A FEW OTHER ORDERS THAT WERE BEING MADE .... SO WHEN THE ORDER IS READY I STARTED SPEAKING TO THEM IN CANTONESE AND THEN SWITCHED UP AND LEFT SPEAKING MANDARIN.... THEY (FATHER) OLDER GUYS EYES DID THAT ➡️👀 .... THE GIRL DID THE SAME... I WALKED OUT THE DOOR , LOOKED BACK AND WINKED AT THEM. THE ROLLS THAT HE SAID "JUST PUT THEM IN THERE" WAS PUT IN MY ORDER... I GOT PLAYED WITH LEFTOVER ROLLS BECAUSE THEY WERE ABOUT CLOSE SO THEY PUT IT IN MY PLATTER THINKING THAT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WANTED AND ORDERED (MY MESSAGE TO THE STAFF AND OWNERS).. 1.YOU SHOULDN'T BE CRITICIZING ANY CUSTOMER JUST BECAUSE THEY DON'T LOOK LIKE YOU AND YOU DON'T THINK THEY SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE... 2. DON'T JUST PUT ANYTHING YOU WANT TO GET RID OF IN JUST ANYONES ORDERS AND THINK THAT THEY WOULDN'T KNOW OR FIND OUT (CHECK YOUR ORDERS IN FRONT OF THEM WHEN YOU MAKE A PURCHASE) 3. 2 out of 3 times I ordered food from J San, the food was made incorrectly. First time, we ordered on the phone and the worker keyed in the wrong sushi roll. Today, I ordered on Uber Eats and they gave me the wrong roll again! Their sushi rolls are mediocre. A lot of avocado or cucumber, very little fish. Spicy salmon roll was also flavorless, only a little spicy. Couldn't even tell if it was salmon in the roll. Their torch bowls are good, but again, don't expect a lot of fish.

When they first opened, the food was good. I don't know what happened but things have been going downhill for a while and now I'm being serve food that should have been thrown away. My latest and last order was had salmon that fell apart and was the worse I've ever tried. It was also missing roe which is one of the expensive part of the meal. Soy sauce was also missing was just the nail in the coffin.

Salmon tastes not good. The white carrots color felt so black…i never come back again!

Called an hour ahead with a set time to pick up. Arrived and had to wait over an hour. I get that there are a lot of orders because of the holiday but that’s where efficient order management comes to play. The staff would give random intervals of additional time to wait too which is just confusing. The sushi itself was average at best. Rice was overcooked and salmon did not taste fresh.

Ordered a $38 party tray and paid with a $50 dollar bill. For some reason the cashier who I think is the owner of the business typed $40 into the calculator and handed me 2 dollars in an attempt to scam me. The tray was also the wrong order even though we confirmed that it was indeed D for dog.

I ordered some sushi rolls and a don today. The rice in the sushi rolls was wet and mushy — the texture was really bad. The rice in the don was overly sweet, and the cucumber and corn tasted like they had been soaked in water. Overall, today’s experience was very disappointing.

The fish sashimi was ok... not the freshest. There was a pc of hair on one of my sushi. The eel roll barely has any eel, and as soon as you pick up the roll with the chopstick...it's falls apart. Taste was meh to me. I feel like for that price, I have many options.
