One of the most incredible hidden gems of cupcakes in New York!! I randomly stumbled across this place while recovering from my foot surgery, not only was the owner super sweet and accommodating to my needs, the cupcakes were absolutely delicious!! you know you can tell when something is made with love and these cupcakes were just that!! with magnolia’s losing its shine and luster over the years, I can happily say I have found their life long replacement! Come to The BAKERY ON BERGEN you won’t be disappointed! Also the expresso was nice and strong and full of flavor!! I will be back!!

Just had the best customer service experience, cookie AND cupcake of my life. The woman who owns this place is so kind, helpful, and really cares about her customers. I felt the love the moment I walked in. Also, holy cow!!! The baked goods are incredible!!!! I’m normally not a cupcake person but the banana cream with chocolate looked so tempting... just had to go for it and I’m extremely happy with my decision making. If you’re in the area or need desserts for a birthday, baby shower, whatever, this is your spot!!!!!

What can I say ? Hmmm…. Ms. Kim is an AMAZING soul. Meeting her in person, she embodies what a business owner should be. Ms. Kim took the time to speak with my son (a Toddler) and I. She could relate to me not only as a person but as Mother. I came in originally looking for Vegan options for my Sons class party. She took her time to speak to us. She didn’t just treat us as just customers. It felt like I was visiting my Aunts Bakery. Ms Kim’s welcoming presence with that smile makes you want to just sit and chat all day. The Bakery on Bergen has an excellent selection of Cupcakes. From Vegan to Gluten free she literally has something for EVERYONE ! Her Vanilla cupcake was to die for. Not overly sweet, just enough sweetness for Mama and her Toddler. I also had the Gluten free cupcake, mannnn that thang was HITTING ! Ms. Kim you are a truly gem. I pray you and your business continue to thrive. Thank you for helping Mama out on short notice. You are APPRECIATED🫶🏽

Their cookie was soft, chocolatey, and had sea salt on it. Delicious Was it worth the $5.50? Not sure, but everything is overpriced these days. Apologies for the photo, my mouth took some bites before my camera ate.

I had a vegan funfetti birthday cake made here last weekend and it was AMAZING! Everyone commented on how good it was and were shocked when I said it was vegan. The owner was great to work with and even went out of her way to allow me to pick it up during usually closed hours. Really appreciate it and definitely recommend this bakery to everyone!

Vanilla biscotti cake...!!! They came through for me in a pinch. I needed a last minute birthday cake for my son's 30th birthday. After singing happy birthday then serving the cake, all I heard was mmmmm... and the smacking of lips.. I will continuously patronize this business and I will surely spread the word. THANK YOU 😊

My partner and I ordered a cake sampler of 5 mini cakes to celebrate our anniversary. Kim was so kind and professional over email, and she made setting up our order and delivery a breeze. We tried the following flavors: Brooklyn Blackout, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Hennessy Red Velvet, Mandarin Orange, and Chai Latte. They were all exceptional, but the standout was their slightly-spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate cake. We loved how you could taste the real butter in the icing and how none of the flavors were overly sweet. We will definitely be coming back here next time we need a cake for an event!

We stopped in close to closing time to grab a few cupcakes and were welcomed right in! The service was amazing and the owner was unbelievably kind! The cupcakes were perfect, but the peanut butter cookie blew my mind! Probably the best I’ve ever had! We will definitely be coming back for all our sweet treat needs!

I wanted to write this review to give the Bakery on Bergen and the wonderful owner, Akim, her much deserved praise and flowers. Akim has been super accommodating with my requests for vegan, nut-free cakes and she knocks it out the park each time. My friends have dietary restrictions and severe nut allergies and they rave about the ube and thai iced tea flavored cakes. I ordered custom cakes twice this year and will be ordering again in the near future. Thank you so much Akim for being so professional, responsive, and creating wonderful allergen-friendly cakes. Just fab all around.

Had a wonderful experience ordering a vegan cake. Not only was it constructed in a lovely way, but the buttercream was probably the best vegan buttercream I’ve had as a 10 year vegan! Better than many of the vegan bakeries I’ve been to! A great moist vanilla cake and the service was fantastic. Highly recommend if you need a local bakery for a great vegan celebration treat.

We found this adorable little bakery while running from a sudden downpour—and honestly, I’m so glad we got caught in the rain! The owner was there and instantly made us feel warm, welcome, and right at home. I sipped on the most comforting matcha tea, while my husband enjoyed a coffee. We couldn’t resist treating ourselves to a chocolate sea salt cookie that was pure joy in every bite. I especially loved how she took her time explaining all the homemade baked treats such as cupcakes, cookies or rum cake (everything looked amazing!). This charming little spot will warm your heart—and your belly!

I ordered red velvet, gluten free/dairy free cupcakes and they were DELICIOUS. Moist, not too sweet, just perfect bites. Didn’t have that grainy feel some gf cupcakes can have. My guests said they were the BEST they have had(and they’ve tried manyyyy all over in NY, NJ, CT)

Would highly recommend ordering or going to this bakery. Loved their oatmeal cookies and cupcakes. Can't go wrong with whatever cupcakes you get, but I would recommend the blueberry cupcakes.

Wow, WOw, and WOW again. From the minute I went in, I saw the fabulous Kim. What a blessing she is and so pleasant. I had a strawberry cupcake which I am still tasting. The whipped cream on top was so light and the cupcake not overpowering with sugar. I am definitely recommending this Bakery and will be purchasing on a larger scale. I must mention Luis who was also a pleasure and funny. He made the visit even more special for he is full of hidden nuggets 😉. Thanks again. Louis proceeded to show me the cookies they had available as he had to bake some more. I purchased three cookies (2) chocolate chip with sea salt and (1) Asian Sweet potato cookie. I was disappointed as they did not look like the cookies Keith Lee purchased and described. The cookies he purchased were crispy on the edges and chewy in the center. I purchased what I describe as cake cookies thick and dense.

I went to my girlfriend’s 70th birthday party on 2/16. I had three different occasions to have cake from this establishment. Last night was the worst. The cake was so dry it was not even eatable. I have no idea what happened. But I will never buy anything from the bakery again.

I ordered a birthday cake for my 70th celebration. I was so disappointed. The cake was dry and had no taste. None of my guests ate the cake. Everyone complained and I felt so bad. I had the vanilla cake with the strawberry filling. Horrible
