Been looking everywhere in Brownsville and surrounding areas for a good buffet and finally found one. Soon as u walk in u feel welcome along with the great smell of some very tasty food. The workers were very attentive and always asked if we needed anything. They have a nice selection of food for dinner and the food actually had flavor vs other buffets. Most buffets I have been to has no taste to the food but this one got it. I would recommend u chief first before u enter any buffet that way u eat more and u also get more for your money. Overall the service and food were a 10/10 and we will definitely be coming back.
the rating is based on a buffet, not whether it is high end or not. Great for a Chinese buffet! Busy times are good times to go....everything was fresh from the kitchen. There were lots of great looking/tasting sushi available. Mongolian cook line was steady but not overly busy.
Definitely the best buffet I have ever been to next to being on a cruise line. The Waitresses are very observant in helping serve you. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and the food is amazing. Definitely five stars in my book.
Excellent food and service, but pricy. Party of 4 over $130
Lunch should be under 20 for the buffet. Dinner is over 20.
Huge food selection! Almost too much. Hard on the waistline. Clean and convenient dining. I would dine there again!
Always amazingly good food, lots of yummy choices, service is great, place is very clean and easy to get around only bad part is its always cold inside and my grandparents have to bring jackets
Loved this place. Such a large variety of food and pretty much everything was what i wanted to eat. I wish the covid setup was better though id like to be able to get my own food. However server John was absolutely amazing, and helpful. He made the experience much better!!
Great Chinese Buffet! The food is very very good! They also have sushi and a Mongolian grill, both are awesome! They take your temperature when you come in and you walk around with an employee and they fill your plate, they are doing their best to help prevent the spread of covid, which I appreciated! They have a server named Joe that is a super nice person! If you're wanting to eat a Chinese buffet I would definitely recommend this place!
Very busy, but the food is great!
Restaurant is almost always full of customers. Food is tasty Expensive meals.
The food it's one of the best in town only one thing the bar of fruits and desserts are with few items very few, they don't have cakes
Food is fresh, hot and they offer a large variety on their Buffet! The price is very reasonable and I appreciate the Senior discount! Great staff, very friendly and a nice, clean atmosphere! Highly recommend!
This is the OG the original I've been coming to this place frequently when I was in high school although I do go to Asian buffet more I'm glad that I've been coming over here again and enjoying the Great taste of this food
I always make it a point to get some Mongolian Stir Fry. And endless amounts of different kinds of sushi. The buffet always has a variety of options as far as Chinese food. And always a great place …
In my opinion, it lacks real Chinese food; almost everything is fried like fast food.
This last time the food was better. We went about a couple weeks ago but some items looked like they had been sitting there for a while. This time there was more people and the food was fresher. Staff did a good job keeping up.
Well laid out dining and buffet areas with Asian decor. An overwhelming number of food selections of every sort. Salad bar, soups, Japanese, American, Mexican and Chinese foods, Mongolian grill, deserts and ice cream! Lots of seafood, chicken, beef, port and vegetarian options. Something for everyone! Attentive service. Much better/nicer than the nearby Asian Buffet in my opinion.
My husband and I love the food but do not love the prices sometimes. Weekends will cost you 17.99 no matter the time and not including the drink, prices still change. The sushi YESSS, the sushi is always amazing. They need to get more variety in their dessert bar though. They got some newer seatings and they are really nice, even added a few more items to their food, I noticed coconut shrimp just the other day. There is this one male waiter who is super fast and only speaks Spanish but he is amazing and they know who he is. He works, gets things done, multitasks all while being super welcoming and kind. He makes it worth it to go back and know you will get great service
Food is delicious. Wonderful variety. Great waitstaff. Would be 5 stars if they were a tad cheaper and had more sanitary conditions with the Ice cream scoop, just have it in a small reservoir with no way to clean it.
Food was fresh and buffet was fully stocked. Server did a great job. Mongolian bbq didn't have a cook on sight so I had to wait til they called him but still waited a few minutes after. Over all a good place to eat.
EDIT: so i kinda went cuz my grandparents want to go, about a month after i posted my review below. I was happily surprised to find that they had done a full 180 since the last time. I will say that i felt that the seasoning was a bit lacking but im happy they fixed whatever was lacking last time. Rotten crawfish. I've been a customer for many years now and i can sadly say that lins buffet has gone down. The food is tasteless. Oh and after i told the waitress about the crawfish they were still there by the time i left.
According to my taste, Lin's in Selma TX, it's much better!!
I don't eat out much and this was my first buffet in about 15 years. I opted for the healthier choices and went for all of the Chinese style chicken which was pretty good in my opinion. Can't really go wrong with those taste-wise. Texture wise all of them were crunchy which I loved. The building itself could be remodeled from the inside but that's minimal. It would add more stars to the rating though. I'm not saying it looks bad but it does look like it's been around for a while. Other than that. I would recommend it.
For management: Lin's started cleaning at 8 pm and they close at 9:30. My husband had to run out as the chemicals were in the air and he was gagging. The management was nice enough to let my husband eat outside. Fabulosa was the cleaner and it was not a great experience to smell the chemical while eating. So if you come...come by 6 pm...to have no Chemical air to eat and breathe for 2 hours ...My eyes also felt puffy and I shut them automatically, like they were full of chemicals. Also you want to come by 5 as food is fresh...the later you get here, the older the food. Recommendation for manager: Use Simple Green Food Service Cleaner cleaner instead..it is non toxic and has no fragrance It is non toxic and better for use while people are still eating.
We like stir fry and in years past have thought it the best. Now we go to a place in Daphne, AL where we spend winter and have recently been to one in Ft.Myers, Fla. And either there's different cooks than 2017 probably the last time we went to Linns or we've gotten fussier. It wasn't what we remembered. But it's still worth a 4, just not a 5.
I have been here multiple times over the past 3 1/2 years when I am in town for business. I have not been disappointed yet. Definitely returning next time.
Pricey ($21.99 on weekends) but good. They advertise seafood buffet but didn't seem like a lot of seafood. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It seems that Mexican Americans like Chinese food! My main complaint is that it was a very hot day, and their air conditioner was not keeping up - cool but not cool enough. Try the in-shell crab cakes.
The lo mein noodles were not Orange like they've always been and had a completely different flavor as well as the rice noodles had too much garlic in them the deep fried crab was raw but other than that everything else was pretty good except for the water that was tap water and you can taste the tap in it
Best place in Brownsville Tx for Chineese food.Very clean place fresh food great salad bar and good desert.Just recently visited once again after this Covid outbreak very clean super Covid Aware group here. Super fast at serving line and very courteous servers extremely friendly. And the food is as good fresh and delicious as ever You all have done a very good job. Thanks

Where do I even start...I would give this one star but the service isn't bad and the place is pretty clean so I'll give them that. The food though was.... some things are good like the rice noodles…

Not good everything bland and just plain nasty. Save yourself the money find another spot. Cold, tasteless crab legs ew.

We recently tried the buffet in Brownsville. Everything we had except the stuffed crab (which clearly looked old) was quite good. I liked the Mongolian grill although it was a little over salted. B…
Food is mostly flavorless. The orange chicken was the least offensive of all the things we got. The portion sizes are good, you get a lot, but it's not worth it because it's not good enough to want…
The food is ok it's a buffet which means most food is old left over from the morning rush. There is a lot of variety not recommended for children. Extremely expensive myself and mother & father ate for $60. Service is amazing they do not charge for refills but to expensive to eat cold food.
The reason I give it a 3 star is because I like the variety and taste of the buffet, even though they have removed some items I liked like the enchiladas. Now the negatives are that prices have gone up a lot! The restrooms always messy, And that they put the same dumb Spanish music like regeton all the time! I liked it when they would put Asian music years ago. It would give you an experience feeling like you were in a Asian restaurant! Smh. If they change that, I would give them 5 stars!
Its an all you can eat Chinese Buffet, I paid 60$ for 3 people. 2 seniors and adult (2 drinks and water) You get 10% discount on seniors so would've been more. But honestly the food isn't the same as it used to be, it's ok if you're just hungry but not the best. The best part is the grill area but that's about it. Noodles/chow mein hella greasy I recommend going in when it's busy so you get fresh food not just left over stuff
It's hit and miss as is with all buffets. It depends on who is doing the cooking that day. Some days, the fried items are perfect, and others it's like trying to eat rocks. This is actually the best Chinese buffet in the valley. That's not saying much 😐. The food court at the mall is actually better 99% of the time. The only thing is that the food court only has 3 to maybe 5 items to choose from.
Figured give it one last shot. Of the different times of day we have gone, we have learned that wait till after 3 pm for the freshest and best tasting food. They just need to get either Yum Yum sauce or coconut sauce for dipping the sushi. I made sweet & sour work.
The food was ok just not what it used to be like. Don’t expect no snow crab, just stuffed crab shells with stuffing for double the price. Plenty of shrimp. I understand it’s business. Maybe now that snow crab has gone back down to a reasonable price, they will consider adding it to there menu.
WARNING WARNING. If you have a shellfish allergy DONOT Come here. they cross contaminate the food here. Reason being, the Mongolian Chef used the same cooking utensils to cook my beef broccoli with another customers shrimp seafood dish . Also saw employee use the same gloves on raw seafood on regular food. So if you have seafood allergies DO NOT COME HERE. On Onother note the bathroom is the most disgusting I've been in since the Tijuana nite club.
Super overpriced for what it is. Standard Chinese buffet. Hostess and servers were friendly. Decent “seafood” options on ice: crab legs, oysters, . The coconut shrimp was probably the best option on my plate. Egg rolls were pretty good, sushi was basic. I didn’t try the Mongolian grill so no comments on that. The orange chicken looked really good but I didn’t try it, didn’t look dried out. They don’t have dumplings which was kind of disappointing. $22 per person on a weekend. That’s insane! We paid 50.85 for 2 buffets and 1 drink for the weekend price. I don’t even pay that much on a weekend at the Chinese buffets in Austin that have better food options.
It's pricey, but honestly, what buffet isn't? However, I would say it has much more variety than the other two Asian buffets we have here. I do appreciate that they offer kimchi as an option. The food itself is average, not bad but not really worth the price. The price is only justified by the variety of options you get. I will say this: the sushi is bad. The taste isn't bad, but the fact is, the sushi is mostly just Philadelphia with a tiny bit of either imitation crab or salmon. If you're just going for the sushi, I recommend skipping it. But if you want to fill up on Chinese food and you're near the mall, I would go.
The food is really not that good for what it costs. The dishes had little distinction from one another though there is a large selection. The price tag is steep exceeding $20 per person with tip. This was my fifth visit to Lin's and I decided that I wouldn't be going back. The quality is mediocre and the value is not so good.
2 of our party of 4 tried the mongolian grill. Food looked great but they said it was very bland and tasteless. I found that many of the dishes on steam tables were barely warm, several empty containers (5pm Monday 11/21/22), and there was also stale/old food being served. Not a place that we would recommend or return to.
Went there at 8 food just warm . Didn't replenish some of the food . At the grilling line I ask for a steak twice and didn't get one but was delicious because it was hot . Place needs paint Bathrooms questionable. Been going there last years or so maybe just a bad evening you decide.
Food was not too good for my taste. The chowmein tasted too weird. There wasn't any shrimp available. Rice was hard to chew. I don't like to be too picky, but as I said, for my taste, it wasn't good. I paid way too much for a meal we didn't enjoy. Fam., of 4 adults. @$75 + tip.
I WENT TWICE TO THIS PLACE AND THE 2 TIMES I WENT I HAD TO LET THE MANAGER KNOW THAT HER FEMALE EMPLOYEE THAT BRINGS OUT THE FOOD IS MIXING THE SEAFOOD RICE AND THE NON SEAFOOD RICE TOGETHER IN BOTH RICE PANS....I TOLD HER AND SHE SAID ITS OK SO THEY DONT CARE IF U ALLERGIC TO SEAFOOD SHE WILL STILL MIX THEM TOGETHER SO IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO SEAFOOD BECAREFUL AT THIS PLACE....
What a waste of over $100 on this place. Food looked as if it had been out for a while. Limited selection, compared to other buffets. Went to grab a plate and still had food stuck to it, even though it was washed. Same thing with the next 2 plates as well. Was gonna look into a soup and guess what.....food still in the bowl. Don't like to be negative about places, but honest reviews are good and hopefully management can read and help improve. An Asian buffet but was playing bachata music for some reason.
I had great service every time I've gone but overall I'm not impressed with the food. It is a Chinese buffet you get what you get
I'm a person that accept pay a good tip for a good service, but in my case the cashier don't ask us for the tip, Just added with 15 percent, that was very rude. The food is tasty. The asían waiter was Quick and kind. The hispanic person that was Cook meat and vegetables beside that ice cream is very rude, don't have good mood to explain a New People how to ask for meal, for that person and mandatory tip, decrease the value.
Whats so special about this place? Pro: Gr8 service, pay before you seat (weeds out them ppl who like to eat/run). Some selected items are good to ok to blug. Con: Same old selection as other places, so its your preference. In all for $ saving for a family of 4+ then yes. For a date (well just being cheap) all imma saying. Whats my reason, glad you ask for 1) keep seeing this place full at parking lot and 2) just to give my review. Will I return, humm let me think, humm NOPE!
From rubbery tough fish to lo main that’s borderline fideo and brown hot oil which I’ve never seen be brown. This place is full of poorly washed plates and spoons and while the selection seems immense after two walk around you realize the selection is very small and the rest of the items are simply filling up empty space . It’s not authentic Chinese which is expected but the quality is subpar to what one may expect. The price is decent but high for the quality.
Very Disappointed. Had absolutely no taste. Even the hot and sour soup wasn't spicy. No juice in the entree's. Cost us almost $45 for lunch with tip. Never again. They have out priced themselves. Pla…
Service and good quality. My husband I were very disappointed because we had looked forward to eating there. We will not be going back.

No taste, food tastes bland. The sushi has too much cream cheese in almost all there sushi. Does not taste good. In one of the sushi's has to much mayo. Over all the food has either to much sal…
Got there a couple of minutes before 350 for the lunch buffet and the lady that charges charged us the dinner buffet. I was like that's fine. Some plates were dirty and the glasses when filled had grease floating on top. The waitresses was very nice and that is why it is getting one star.
It was super expensive $70 for three children under four two adults all the food was either overcooked or undercooked nothing tasted right I have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years this is the worst I have ever seen it the tea tasted like mop water there's no real desserts it was simply horrible and overpriced
The service seems to deteriorate each time I visit this place. This one time all the plates and cutlery were wet and we had to ask twice for them to deliver our drinks even though the place wasn't even crowded at all. Oh, and don't get me started on the prices; they've gone way too high while everything else goes down.
Food was cold and no flavor.not worth the $23. Ordered sweet tea and was served raspberry tea. Plates were dirty had to sort through to find a clean plate. Fan was absolutely filthy with dust etc set up next to the food by hibachi chef. Took 4 to 5 bites of my plate and walked out..
Can't really rate this place. Walked in , service for "2" with ice tea and it's pay first, not a problem but, $ 50+ Dollars? For a Chinese style Buffet ?
First time trying Lins after conflicting reviews from people i know, all together the food didn't taste bad, not good either but not bad. The wait staff was bad. She didn't give us refills although she passed by multiple times, hardly picked up our plates, and it was a weekday with very few tables. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but she was constantly talking to the cashier in the corner. If you are a fan of Asian buffets, Kurai in Edinburg is so good, quality food and it is actually less expensive. All together the food was not terrible, not good either, service was bad.
Went there with family of 6 and we all got food poisoning! Everything had a weird taste! Mind u this was 1 of my favorite buffets but just yesterday it got on burn book! Sushi was not on ice pudding tasted like water the fruit was watery and warm rice was hard then asked for water for our drinks and tasted real salty but at the same time like tap water! Very disappointed in how they are getting things done… will not be going back since they dont do refunds they only give u 10% off coupon thats not how u keep people from going back
Please don’t eat here, I got terrible food poisoning from the food and had to go to the hospital. My two year old daughter got sick from here too. I tried to give them the chance to make it right by just giving me a refund only, and they said there’s nothing they can do and that they won’t help me at all. I will be reporting to the health department, because it’s absolutely unacceptable.
This place isn't very clean. I hadn't been there for over 6 years. I thought I'd give it a shot, but it wasn't a good experience. I see the lady that makes sushi wipe the counter and uses the same rag to wipe the knife she cuts the sushi with. The buffet plates were greasy and dirty. There were plates people had left there on the side because they were dirty and when I grabbed one, then a 2nd, then a 3rd, turned it over and you could see all the grease. I told one of the ladies that they're dishes need to be extremely clean, but she didn't say anything and quickly walked away. I will never go there again!
The food is horrible. Most spots are empty and what does have food is dry and old. They promote steak and the only steak I see is the peppered black steak. The sushi bar is also half empty. If I could I would give it a negative rating. I will NEVER be back. Not worth 18 dollars
First buffet since the pandemic and I know better than going to Linns why did I do it went at 12 on a weekday a little busy so hopefully things would be hot. This is a 18 buffet remember so I expect to get a great meal. First you have to pay first which sucks but ok I am sure many are not honest so understanding being in this area. The food every dish I had was cold not just a little but cold unless they just put it out. Nothing had flavor all the meat was tough never saw a waitress and why did I tip. I know I know it’s a buffet but a 18 dollar one should be better I try to tell them and they act like they don’t speak English what ever again I should have known better so please don’t give this place your business the stomach issues you will have later not worth it. Again 18 dollars come on
The quality of the food has only gone downhill. I've eaten here 50 times every time it gets worse and worse, and it costs more and more. One person, what a Coke is $23. It is not worth $10. I will not be going back.
Saw waitress cleaning chairs and tables with same rag. Asked for a partial refund as we had already eaten some food and was denied refund. Will not be returning!
The old lady named arely was super rude and mean and made me feel very uncomfortable she was staring at me ugly the entire time so ugly she needs to be fired jus bcz of her I won't be gng back smh
Visiting from Houston and was in the mood for a Chinese buffet and this was close to where I was staying and seemed to have good reviews Honestly at $18.39 for an adult alone with no drink just water. I don’t think it’s worth it One, you pay before you eat then they immediately ask you for a tip which is printed on the receipt which you leave at your table so your “waiter” knows what bring you. This causes a problem as if you’re one to tip in case or after the actual service then you’re out of luck cause once they see on the receipt you left $0 tip then they’ll never actually check up on you or bring you refills cause at that point you’re nothing to them. The food is not good. Was room temperature and bit cold. Plus the options weren’t that great. Not many food to choose from.
I was really worried I was going to get food poisoning. Even though the food is supposed to be warm, most of it was overcooked and cold. Too expensive for such garbage.
I thought watching my grandmother die from stage 4 pancreatic cancer was painful, until I ate here. Undercooked food and dirty plates to say the least
I had not been to lins in a very long time and decided to visit today. I paid 33$ for two people which I thought was decently expensive compared to other restaurants. Well on my first serving as I was trying to enjoy my food I struck an unusual item with my form, a broken burnt zip tie (picture attached). I mean, im not very picky really with my food nor do I write reviews but i have to admit this was pretty disgusting and disturbing. So as the manager kindly told me, “accidents happen”. I requested to speak to a manager who apologized in a defensive manner and when I told her, “its ok ma’am i know it is not your fault”, the lady responded by saying “i appreciate you saying that it isn’t my fault but in reality it is not anyones fault as you have to understand accidents happen”. Great customer service.. I proceeded to request a refund as obviously one would think that would be the most rational thing for a restaurant who cares for their customers would do, right? Wrong, they said they could not give me a refund but gave me a red card that said 10% discount on your next visit. I of course proceeded to tip the waiter and left the red card on the table, as I nor anyone I know will plan on visiting this place again. Please be cautious if you decide you want to visit this place, if they chose to lose a customer as oppose to issue a refund for 33$ after i found a burnt plastic on my plate, you can only imagine how they take care of their food.
The plates are very dirty that they're not even washed right, do not go, they accept 12 year old as adults instead of kids, way too expensive.
The food was really disgusting my husband had a bad time in the bathroom, the food felt fake like thaw and mushy, the only good thing was the fried rice, the sushi and the food the men cooks for you besides the sushi, we found 2 cockroaches they were still moving… I got some fish and it looked red/pink inside, brisket, egg roll, pizza, beef and brócoli, and other stuff and all of that was DISGUSTING, it was super overpriced for the quality of food, we end up leaving with an empty stomach, I recommend Asian buffet it’s a cleaner environment and the food quality is better.
I don’t recommend anyone to go here if you are health conscious when its come to cleanliness their dish and glass still need to be clean and you can see the dirt on dish clearly from your eyes. The glass they use are too old which is broken. Need to replace glass and give attention to serve clean and hygiene Thank you
Not wheelchair friendly. The little hallway going to the restroom was filled with high chairs leaving little room to maneuver a wheelchair ♿️ into the restroom. Food tasted old and lacked flavor. We had to flag our waitress down for refills. Spent 80 here for lunch and left extremely disappointed. Now I understand why this place wasn't packed during the lunch rush. First and last time here. Save your money and go elsewhere. You have been warned .
We (Family of 4) went here for lunch. The price was $73 before a tip. The food was absolutely terrible, especially for this price. The chicken was pink in the middle and the noodles were overcooked. The ragoons were made with some sweet cream cheese icing like center which was very weird. We left still hungry because we were worried about food poisoning.
Why is the buffet here more expensive than California? This place is a joke we live in Brownsville and nothing special about your buffet to be charging this much
Maybe if your from Brownsville this place seems good but if you have been to your share of Chinese buffets this one has to have one of the worst price to food ratios I’ve seen, everything is edible and place isn’t a pigstein but man will I never go back I rather go to one that Ik failed health code because at least their food and price is decent it would be better if it was cheaper or had some or options like dumplings instead of Alfredo???
please don’t even come here if you want to get robbed literally the host named Norma was super rude and when we told her we were also going to pay for a kids meal she didn’t listen . Super embarrassing that someone else had to come and charge us again ! for something that we had already let the host know . Don’t spend your money here horrible experience. Never again
Food was old and flavorless. Standard buffet items, but still lacking in choice. Mongolian grill meat was tough and weirdly chewy. I think I should have my stomach pumped after eating here. The waitress was nice, my drink tasted weird. Only highlight was the nice waitress, and the hostess that greeted me.
I have not been here in years and decided to visit Lins for old times sake. Salmon tastes horrible. Hibachi grill meat, i had to spit it out....large green flies over the buffet....and the music sounds like a Mexican night club...which i love but not at a Chinese restaurant. Quality has really gone down...definitely not worth the price.
