I wanted some Tamales and saw a sign in the west side of El Paso and order a couple with a burrito and it was very good, it was fresh good flavor and filling.
Love the consistency, we always know what we are going to get and never disappointed.Been a family favorite for years and a staple of our home. Some of the best green chili chicken tamales in town. My personal favorite are the dulcet tamales, recommend to all visitors and out of towers, when we have company.
I love this place I love the tamales it to the point it's so good and yummy. And every time I hear this name I think of the delicious tamales. I really love this place
Great Tamales and Chicharrones botaneros. Yum! Always packed but dont lose your patience, it will go by quick. Fast and friendly service all the time i have gone. I live on the opposite side of town but always willing to take the drive to Lupitas. Highly recommend.
Tried Tamales Lupita for the first time and when i was checking out I explained I just found about this morning from google and the guy goes we’ve only been here for 41 years and I told him that’s incredible and I’m excited to try it after waiting in a line to the street. He tells me I’ll see you again later… Yea he was right cause DAMN those tamales were so good & the salsa 🔥. I’ll be visiting often now!
Lupitas is always delicious. It is a favorite of mine to visit whenever I am in El Paso visiting family. The tamales, burritos de barbacoa, the chicharrones, and the turkey tails are all incredible choices. Sometimes the line is very long on the weekends so I don't recommend you go then. Wait to go during the week. Also be prepared for the service to be slow so don't go if you are in a rush. If you have patience, it is absolutely worth the wait.
Fantastic fresh tamales!! They are hot and steamy, not dry like some places make them. They also don't skimp on the fillings either. Out favorite ones are the chili con queso and green chicken, but all of them are delicious 😋 We like them right out of them bag or warm them up on the cast iron to give the masa a little crunch. $20 a dozen. Definitely recommend!! They also have other things if you like.
simply the best tamales ever !!!! seriously bar none. sure theres lots of tamale venders out there especially \nin el paso, but why would you go anywhere else and skimp out on a great tamale and live…
I like that place, always consistent and the entire menus is fantastic. If you absolutely need the best food for an occasion then they are always a safe bet.

1 pound of Carnitas to go. Made some tortas ahogadas with the bread from the La Central Bakery 2 infront of Tamales Lupitas. They were delicious!

I bought 3 dozen tamales. The young lady that helped me was great. Awesome customer service very attentive. Happy Holidays!
Tamales Lupita's been around for ages, and while the flavor's changed, it's still good quality. I don't come here often, but when I do, I always get their tamales, which are super good. I've tried other things, but the tamales are my go-to.
Love this place, always has such great tamales & now I've found the verde burritos & I just cant help myself. They are so damn delicious, this place is always a great stop for a bite to eat! The green chicken tamales are so great every time, not to mention the staff is always so kind & helpful. Very Great Place!!!
Tamales Lupita is a local gem that captures the essence of homemade Mexican cuisine. My boyfriend eagerly anticipates standing in line each year, even enduring a 30-minute wait (which can stretch to 2 hours during the holidays). The authentic flavors of their tamales make it a cherished mom-and-pop hometown favorite. The dedication to traditional recipes shines through, making the wait well worth it for a taste of delicious, homemade goodness.
The Green tamales were dry the tamales were not tasty at all. The red are burnt. It is sad because they used to be the best tamales in town and now they're just any ordinary Tamales\nVery poor quality
What happened!!?? Why so small.. disappointed. The tamales were much smaller than before. While they're perfect for a snack, I felt the portion size didn't quite match the price. I'd love to see la…
Great variety to pick from. Friendly service. Line a little slow since only one line......Recommend this location
Too much Masa very little meat and they are small. Not worth the money or wait. I would rather drive to Gussies and get some much better Tamales as well get some bread.

I keep going back and trying but they dont taste the same anymore, especially the red ones, sometimes they are under cooked and the last time I took them back and the lady was upset with me. The green chicken cheese ones are for the most part good.
The restaurant is so small. We had to wait outside for about fifteen minutes. There was only two people working. The tamales were dry. A couple of the green chile and cheese tamales were burnt on the sides. The red tamale had good flavor, but dry. There was no room to eat inside. There was two picnic tables outside.
Ordered a variety of tamales. They were OK. Ordered chile verde and a Chile Colorado burrito. They were on the dry side for our liking. The chicharrones were kick ass. Might stop by for some more f…
I’ve been going to Lupita‘s tamales for years now, and one thing I noticed in the recent years is the consistency of the flavor of the tamales. It’s never the same sometimes it’s really good sometimes it’s not sometimes the green ones could be really good and then the red ones could be lacking flavor or too much flour other instances the green ones can be really bad or extremely spicy and the red ones could be perfect it is pricey for what it brings to the table in my opinion at the end of the day, they’re all all right
While the Alameda location didn’t meet my expectations, 6860 Doniphan Dr B, Canutillo, TX. I recently went back, and the tamales were not the same as before. They tasted spoiled, and I suspect they may have been made from old or previously frozen tamales. They definitely did not taste fresh.
The quality of the tamales is horrendous. Very small size and very overpriced, but the texture is also very off putting. As someone who has tried many tamales, I would say these are either old tamales or frozen tamales that they just heated up due to the dry, hard texture. The service and atmosphere was better than the food.
La comida sabia horrible nada que ver a unos Años atras. La tortillas ya no las hacen ellos

Sorry Lupita, but all the raving on telemundo Chan 48 about your wonderful tamales was a lie. Drove 25 miles and these are worst we've ever eaten, masa crumbed as you try to eat, no flavor in the red…
Más mamones el servicio no muy mal servicio pésimo muy worst service sucks why there’s no reason to make smart remarks
First of all the let me state that the tamale had more masa no wonder they are so thick, n just a little bit of filling (terrible) don't waste ur money here! The green burrito was sooo small n they claim they are $3.75 but when u pay they are $3.90 n on top of that they charge u a fee just to use a card. NEVER GOING BACK!
I am so disappointed. We loved to make a pit stop here when in the area which is not so often. This last dozen of tamales purchased were incredibly small for the price. To make matters worse, a large strain of hair came out of the green chile tamale I had just started to eat. Yuck! Time to find a new tamale location!
Don't believe the hype. I spent around 40 dollars on 1 dozen red and 1/2 dozen chile and cheese 🫔 tamales. Unfortunately, this place only cares about making money 💰 and not so much about quality. Went during New Years Eve. Waited in line 45 minutes. When I placed the order, I'm sure they noticed how badly burnt they were. Of course, I didn't notice it because there's too much going on, and they want to know in a hurry what you're getting and for you to be on your way. When I got home, the red tamales were burnt. They were mostly just masa and no meat. They were sandy and not how they are supposed to be. They were so dry hardly had any red chile, bland in flavor. I ended up contacting a friend of a friend for tamales because these were so bad. The chile and cheese were good and way better than the red. I'll give them that. They weren't sandy, they had good flavor but not worth my time or money.
Longest brown hair even found!! Very disappointed and disgusted, I will never ever buy from tamales Lupitas. Do your self a favor and don’t even think about buying there please as I am already sick from my stomach 😤😤😤 I will not remove my review as this was extremely disgusting and we all deserve better standards and specifically in food handling!!
