Great food and atmosphere. Exceeded expectations!

This place was amazing. We sat at the bar to avoid the wait. Our bartender Chris was very helpful in selecting the best dinner and drinks. The food was seasoned to perfection. The shrimp scampi popped with delicious garlic. I had the halibut with the delicate, but tasty breading, and delicious sauce. A real dining experience paired with delicious drinks. Highly recommend.

We love this town, our burger was delicious and we had pleasant service.

Great place, cool serve staff and a pretty good cucumber jalapeño margarita. The food was good and the locals were friendly. Although there was a wait (make reservations) we were able to sit at the bar and order from the full menu.

For our final night in Cooperstown, we tried Mel's. It was a great choice. Our server, Mia, was adorable. There were so many things that looked good on the menu that it was hard to make a decision. In the end, I had a NY strip steak, which was very good, and my husband had fried haddock. I had a cosmo and he had an Ommegang Rare Vos. We had a great night.

Wow! Where to start. I visited during off season and was hoping full service was still available. It was. Good service and the menu choices were well rounded. I had Brussel sprouts to start and they were OFF THE HOOK! I ordered fried Haddock with fries (fish and chips) and the serving was very large. I added a cup of clam chowder which was done very nicely. My only regret is that I can't go back once I leave town. A must while visiting.

We wound up eating here both nights we were in town because such a great experience the first night. Great meal. Great service!

Lively restaurant on the corner block. Seafood is a must have when you're here. Owner goes around and make sure everyone is taken care of and is having a good time.

A charming pub/restaurant in the Village of Cooperstown NY. We absolutely loved it!! The service and food were outstanding!! We are looking forward to visiting this establishment one more time before we have to head home. Would recommend for famlies, or 2 grandparents watching there grandson play baseball 😎

Awesome place! If your in Cooperstown you must eat here! Ask for Clint great server. Pictured are the scallop special (rice was 86 so I subbed in mash potatoes) and the spinach salad with fresh fruit and a crab cake topper. Very affordable. We are going back tomorrow.

Awesome beer selection dope skills in the kitchen pesto fries are so flavorful and the amazing haddock tacos you see in the picture are accompanied by a tarragon tartar sauce that is unmatched definitely the best fish tacos I've ever had!

I'm a big fan of salads—anyone who knows me can confirm it! The dressing they make here is absolutely delicious; I would love to have the recipe. This place feels just like home, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with kindness. And the crab burger? Simply amazing! It tastes incredibly fresh. Highly recommend!"

Wife and I stopped in for a drink and a light lunch. We split a Turkey bacon wrap, which with the chipotle aioli, was fantastic. I had the delicious, albeit effeminate, Forbidden Apple cocktail; the Mrs. took my man card and had a spicy Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita.

It’s a charming place with an elegant interior, offering a wide selection of American food dishes. I had an amazing burger with caramelized onions and provolone on a brioche bun. It was juicy and full of flavor, and the side order of basil garlic fries was equally delightful. Prices are very good for most menu items and service was wonderful.

We had reservations at another establishment but decided to dine here at last minute and so glad we did. Service was top notch, our server Sean was very friendly. Nice vibe and the food just delicious. I ordered the beet risotto with shrimp and my husband had the porterhouse veal special. We also had the caprese shrimp for app. I highly recommend Mel’s!

Wonderful experience. The mushroom udon had crazy flavor and the salmon was piled with mango on delicious rice noodles. The clam appetizer was served with amazing toasted bread. Would love to go back.

After a long flight from Ft. Lauderdale drove the 4 hours to the Hall of Fame and after two hours of walking found this amazing spot. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server Rebecca was exceptional we let her chose all of our meal, apps and even dessert. The vibe was nice, excellent service and delicious food certainly cooked with love and care. Great cozy little restaurant in Cooperstown. My friend and I both had Reubens. They make their own Corned Beef and it was very good. They do have a bar and some beer on Tap. Neither one of us had a beer so I'm not sure what they have on tap. A nice place. I certainly would go again.

We had lunch here after visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame. Hubby had a burger with fries, I had the black bean burger with tater tots. Everything was delicious. The fries were not greasy, nor were the tots. Server was attentive and efficient. Prices were very reasonable. Given the time of year, October 15th, and a Wednesday, there were other diners but it wasn't too busy. Highly recommend.

My family dined recently at Mel's for a family reunion dinner. The wide variety of menu items offered was perfect for us. The Cod special, Brian's Haddock and crab cakes were especially delicious. Our waitress Dawn was very pleasant and patiently answered all questions about menu selections. The Musak was very loud & volume could have been turned down a notch. I would say the distance the best meal I've had in a very long time at a restaurant that I did not know. Was referred to them by the Baseball Hall of Fame, and it lived up to all the hype they gave it. Patio was awesome to sit on. The service was superb, and the food was just to die for.

Delicious food! They definitely do not skimp on the portions! Huge piece of Chicken Parm was on top of a platter of spaghetti and the Fish & Chips were plentiful. I have never been served so many french fries and boy were they yummy! 😋 Our server was very attentive without being intrusive. Prices were reasonable.

We went for my birthday and the food was amazing! I had the roasted mushroom burger and my wife had the Caesar salad with shrimp. The burger was massive and loaded with toppings. The flavor was top notch. My wife really enjoyed her salad and she said the shrimp were grilled to perfection. Our server was very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was vibrant. If you’re in town and looking for a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a nice lunch, check out this place. Just take notice of their hours because they close for an hour to prep for dinner.

This is a great spot for food and drinks on the tiny strip that is downtown Cooperstown. Having just spent a week in a rough and tumble camp barracks with thirteen 12 year olds, perhaps my expectations were a bit low, but I was really blown away by the quality of the food and drinks here.

Do not overlook this little gem! You have to try it! We visited the Baseball Hall of Fame and while walking to Sam’s Pizzeria across the street, we were immediately deterred by a young girl smoking a cigarette and singing outside of the pizzeria and blocking the door. We walked down to the corner and remembered the reviews of Mel’s we’re pretty good. So glad we were deterred! Ambiance was so pretty, our server was so attentive, and the food was fantastic! We ordered the fried mozzarella and the sauce was delicious. Crispy fry on the mozzarella, too. The clam chowder was also amazing in flavor, consistency and the clams were plentiful, big and tender! Potatoes were big also! My son got the children’s macaroni and cheese which was still a large portion! We also loved that it was house made and not packaged Kraft. I ordered the adult macaroni & cheese, also so tasty and rich! My husband got the burger special. Probably the best beer cheese we’ve ever had and the burger was cooked perfectly. We live in Texas or else we’d make this spot a weekly thing!

Have only been once but we enjoyed our meals. Reservations help since it seems to fill up fast, even on weeknights.

Nice place and good food, but this place is crowded and loud. We waited 15 minutes for seats at the bar. The room was roaring with conversations, which made it difficult to talk.

Came in late, no reservation, but they were able to seat us, a group of five, in about five minutes. Place was crowded for a Thursday night, so u may want to make reservations. Restaurant has one room with bar and high tables, and a second room for dining. My buddy amd I ordered the Pesto Shrimp and Ravioli with roasted tomatoes and spinach. It was delicious. Surprised it didn't come with bread and butter for dipping, but still tasty. Others ordered the steak with rice and stringbeans and were very happy with the meal. Wait staff did an amazing job covering both rooms including several groups of 8-10 people. Overall, a wonderful experience. Totally recommend.

We enjoyed our dinner at Mel’s. We sampled almost all the appetizers and they were all delicious. There is a large variety on the menu, making it quite difficult what to choose! Some of our group’s favorites were the Chicken Parm and Nashville Hot Fried Cauliflower

We did eat here a couple times in the past. We were told they had breakfast all day so we stopped in. They do not. We're told Cooperstown Cafe did, so we went there. They do not either but we decided to stay for lunch. That review is under Cooperstown Cafe.

Food was excellent. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I had dinner here on a Saturday evening at 7:00 and goodness was it prime time. Good thing reservations were made. My one complaint was the noise. It was extremely loud. Definitely not a place to go when it is busy and you're trying to have a nice quiet dinner.

Nicely decorated restaurant with outdoor seating. The California Dreaming Burger was very enjoyable. The burger was served with aioli sauce, avocado, brie, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber and bacon. It really was a delicious and well seasoned burger. In addition, the Classic Ceasar Salad was also very good. It was a nice fresh flavorfull salad that was served with the correct amount of dressing. My son also enjoyed his cheese burger with crispy fries and a mac & cheese side dish. On a side note. I didn't have any drinks, however the beer selection looked great and others around were enjoying classic cocktails. Overall a very good lunch!

We enjoyed shark bites, potato skins, caprese salad, bacon mac & cheese, & 2 dinner specials. I wasn't crazy about shark. My chicken cutlet with suasage h broccoli special was okay. The caprese salad was the best part of my meal. We enjoyed the bacon mac & cheese a lot - it is similar to one I make at home with pancetta. My husband had a halibut special. He said he liked it.

Enjoyed myself here. They were very gracious and let me sit at the bar during the shift change. Service was great, friendly and efficient. Food was a mixed bag... The prawn entre (starter) was fantastic, unfortunately the burger wasn't as good. The meat wasn't seasoned and it had an overwhelming burnt taste. My key lime pie was was ok but I have had much better. Given the standard of the Prawns, I am inclined to think that the burger was not representative of the rest of the menu. I would definitely give them another chance.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary at Mel’s, and it was our first time dining there! The food was delicious— I really enjoyed my filet and opted to swap out the potatoes for mushroom risotto. The risotto was a little undercooked, but the flavor was on point. We started with the cheese curds, which were scrumptious—a great find since they’re hard to come by in the surrounding area. My husband had the New Orleans Shrimp dish and thought it was good overall, though he mentioned it tasted more like BBQ sauce than traditional Cajun seasoning. The Mel’s Cosmo was tasty, but with the large strawberry garnish, it felt like you were only getting about half a martini. That said, our server was incredibly sweet and even surprised us with flowers for our special day—such a thoughtful touch! We were also seated by the windows, which made the experience feel a bit more special. One thing to note: the atmosphere is more casual than the photos online suggest. Most patrons were dressed in baseball caps and shorts, so we felt slightly overdressed expecting a more upscale casual vibe. We had a wonderful experience overall and look forward to coming back for another meal.

We were in town and stopped at Mel's for lunch because of the reviews, location and nice decor. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience as others. The best part of my meal was the white vinegar dressing; however, it was on the bottom of the plate and the top half of my salad was dry. (I discovered the dressing when almost done.) I ordered a chicken sandwich and the grilled chicken was very dry. I ate what I could because I was hungry and our server never returned to see how everything was or refill our water glasses. We had to ask another server for our check and actually saw our server sitting at the bar eating when we left....

Before a doctors appointment at Bassett Medical Center we decided to give Mel's at 22 a try for a late lunch. We were seated in the main dining area and greeted by our server C. After taking our drink orders (water with lemon) and sharing the specials we were prepared to order due to our short time window. My fiance chose a cup of the New England Clam Chowder, Cobb Salad and a cup of Coffee. I chose the Fried Haddock Sandwich, no bun and side salad. C. asked if I wanted to start with my side salad while Dawn had her soup, which I agreed and appreciated. Dawn thoroughly enjoyed her Clam Chowder, she's a stickler for hot food, especially soup, and she was very pleased. My side salad was served on a curiously small flat plate, causing the salad to fall off said plate when I attempted to cut and eat it. I'm not sure if this is normally how Mel's serves the side side but I would prefer a bowl or larger plate. Dawn found the chicken in her Cobb Salad to be on the dry side which was unfortunate. My Haddock was a nice sized piece, crisp on the outside and flaky fish, the tartar sauce lacked favor. C was very personable but I don't know if he was having an off day, although there were only one or two other tables, we never received a water refill, Dawn didn't receive her coffee and when she asked if she could have a to go cup and requested it with cream the cream was forgotten as well. It's attention to detail that is important and the little things stand out. Overall we were not impressed with Mel's at 22 and would most likely not be back.

First time at Mel's. They were pretty busy. So it took a bit for our server to come to our table. But we weren't in a hurry so no big deal. She was great. Food was ok. Nothing special. Not bad but not great. Pricing was ok.

Came on a Tuesday early afternoon with family of five. Waited to be seated for at least five minutes and there was no hostess. The waiter saw us even. The couple who came in behind us got impatient and spoke to the waiter and was told he was the only waiter there. The place only had a couple tables occupied but he seemed busy. We all left.

I ordered lunch from Mel's twice in the past month (went along with my coworkers) and both times it was a disappointment. The first time was salad, which came with wilted salad leaves and the "fresh" mango was dry with crusty edges, probably cut up days before and was never used so left to dry out for days. The second order was fish tacos, which were absolutely disgusting with rotten salad leaves. What a waste of money.

Two of 6 plates served wrong. Order a burger and they charge for pickles in this clip joint. Medium rare burger served well done. Oh, they forgot the bacon. They brought over almost raw bacon. Wife ordered chicken parmigiana and no bread? No salad? This place is packed. Why? First time in & never again. Oh, we shoulda had the kids meals. They were decent. Beware! This place will drain your wallet as they mess up the orders. Refill on the coffee. No milk for it. Wife got it when it was cold. This place has a great location and the inside is ok. But, I’d highly suggest you avoid this place. Not a good dining experience.

Went for lunch today. Worst shrimp tacos I've ever had in my entire life. Freezer burn shrimp, brown avocado, disgusting sauce globbed on top. And cold tots on the side to boot. Steer clear.

They used to have great vegan options- not anymore. Here’s my old review: Amazing! The veggie wrap is amazing and vegan. It’s great with the crumbles or with portabella mushroom! It has a phenomenal mango salsa. I added avocado and onions but I know it would be great without. Recently renovated, somewhat upscale dining. Lunch prices are very reasonable. We also got a side of the beets, yum! The balsamic dressing has an Italian feel (so good) and the French fries were good.

Disappointed in the entrees served. Allison our waitress gave fine service. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere. The table ordered two appetizers and four entrees. The appetizers were good (the Brussels sprout pork belly were the star of the night). Unfortunately, our main course was disappointing. The shrimp scampi was just okay, (frozen shrimp). The burger was probably the better meal from the four we got. The cod special was cold and not salted or seasoned. We ordered a prime rib special which could only come medium not medium rare due to the time (which is understandable due to the time 8pm). The steak came out cold and fully cooked. Tasted awful like old meat. We asked for it to be taken back and warmed up. Once we received the steak back it wasn’t any better and the rest of the table had finished their meals. The manager at this point has come in to check on us and apologized and took the steak off the table and bill. She stated that the pork chop (our second option if the prime special wasn’t available) was almost ready. We were reluctant to accept it due to the table being done eating and ready to leave but the manager brought it out anyways we said we didn’t want it but insisted we try it. The pork chop was also over cooked and dry (tough to even get a fork in it). We took a bite to try, it was hard to cut the glaze was good and mashed potato sides were also very good but that was it. Not wanting to cause more fuss my partner just asked for the bill. I privately told the manager the pork chop was tough and dry and we couldn’t eat it. Very dissatisfied with the fact that we still had to pay $27 for the pork chop that we couldn’t even eat or take home to reheat.
