I ordered pickup online and arrived at my pickup time 556pm. Checked in waited 12min and had to call in about my order and another 6min until my order was brought out. I watched several cars drive up got there orders brought out right away. Total wait time 18min to get my order. No explanation or apology for long wait time.

Place needs to be professionally cleaned floor was sticky and nasty looking, chicken fried steak was dry and extra crispy sauce made it tolerable I didn’t finish it as it was not that great, my daughters grilled chicken was super salty, and dried out, Wisconsin cheese bites were so insanely greasy that’s all I could taste, utensils were not cleaned and still grease covered. I can only hope me and my family don’t get sick from possible poor food handling. Will not be returning here.

No one should walk in an establishment and your host not greet you!! No greeting, just asked "how many". Then when he takes us to our seat, he waves the menu for us to follow him. Once he seats us. NO ONE comes to take our drink order or even say "hi, im ...., give me a second and ill be right with you". After being at this booth for 10mins and NO type of acknowledgement. I left. There's no need to stay with the service starting off very poorly. My presence didn't mean anything and neither did my money.

My wife and I went to this location today for lunch around the time they opened. We both went to the restroom first, and thank goodness we did. Both restrooms were a mess. There was grime and hair on the toilets and urinal, and one of the sinks had some sort of black/green creature growing on it. When we walked out of the restroom we noticed finger smears all over one of the booth windows. If it was the end of the night this would be more understandable, but the fact that the restaurant had just opened shows it was not properly cleaned. We didn’t want to know what the kitchen looked like, so we decided to go elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend eating here until they learn how to clean the restaurant.

Strap in for the absolute trainwreck that is Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen at 39640 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy, Dallas, TX 75237. This place is straight up a vibe killer, like someone took a decent restaurant concept and yeeted it into a dumpster fire. Our fam of five (two adults, three gremlins) rolled up from the highway thinking we’d get some solid eats, but nah, we got a one way ticket to Regret City. This ain’t a dining spot, it’s a cursed Reddit thread come to life. Let’s talk about the food, or as I’m calling it, the plateable war crimes. The barbecue ribs and chicken tenders combo, a fat $21, was a total scam. The ribs? Bruh, these were soulless, dry as a bone in a horror movie, with BBQ sauce that tasted like it was brewed in a hater’s basement. No love, no flavor, just straight up betrayal for your tastebuds. The tenders were just mid, like something you’d nuke in a microwave and forget about. Fried, bland, and giving zero effort, like a group project partner who just shows up for the credit. The rice? Yo, this was some next level shade in grain form. Clumpy, tasteless, like an Asian chef got beef with the world and decided to ruin our day. It was giving “I’m mad and you’re gonna feel it” energy. The salad? Just a sad boi pile of wilted greens with dressing so basic it could’ve been labeled “Water but Sadder.” It was edible, sure, but lowkey felt like I was chewing on depression. For $21, I wanted a meal, not a reason to cry in the group chat. The service? Bro, our server was moving at the speed of a Windows 95 update. I deadass thought he had a stroke mid shift and nobody clocked it. Mans was out here ghosting us harder than a Tinder match after one date. Drinks drier than a desert, kids’ marinara mess looking like a crime scene, and us begging for napkins like we’re in a post apocalyptic movie. Refills? Lmao, good luck. The whole staff was on some “we’ll get to you in 2035” energy, leaving us to fend for ourselves while the place descended into chaos. Speaking of chaos, the vibes? Absolutely unhinged. This place was louder than a TikTok sound on loop. Screaming kids, bros cackling like they just discovered memes, and some dude at the bar yelling at his phone like he’s beefing with Siri. My ears were begging for a break. The lighting was giving haunted house, and the whole spot felt less “family friendly” and more “survive this if you can.” Every bite was interrupted by some kid yeeting a fork or a table of Karens losing it over their sweet tea. For a $83 bill with tax and tip, I expected food, not a full on mental breakdown. Cheddar’s isn’t a restaurant, it’s a cursed side quest you didn’t sign up for. Those ribs and tenders? A $21 scam. The rice? A hate crime. The salad? A Reddit sob story. The server? Probably still lost in the void. If you’re in Dallas, swerve this place like it’s a sketchy DM. Save your coins and your sanity, fam.

I am really big on Customer Service. The experience at the location on LBJ Freeway was very disappointing. Let’s begin with the wait. Our information was put in incorrectly by the hostess, so therefore we were waiting for an excessive period of time as we watch people coming in after us be seated secondly, we were set at a dirty table and then the food was horrible. The salmon was overcooked and they redo order wasn’t any better because I was given a bite-size piece of salmon. After speaking with the manager, she offered free queso wow like I’m really coming back to this restaurant.. oh, I forgot about the 15% discount. Are you kidding me? Look at these pictures and tell me would you eat this?? Keep in mind, I took one small bite of the first salmon entrée and realized it was charged hard and dry. In return, I get a bite-size portion of salmon. This is ridiculous. Keep in mind, the chart salmon they had it turned over where it wasn’t noticeable, but the bite was horrifying. I gave them a full size piece of salmon that was chard and an edible and then return I was giving a child proportion piece of salmon. . So another customer near me ordered the exact same entrée and compare my salmon to hers. Her salmon is the last pic on the white plate. It Is not comparable.

Update: I don't know how this place stays open. WE decided to give them another try today around 4pm. The hostess told us to go order at a counter, which we tried to do. we waited. And waited. Asked her again 10 minutes in - she said she would send someone out to take our order. So we waited some more - still no one, after 30 minutes and asking 3 times for someone to help us we have up and left. no one acknowledged us as we walked out - maybe it was because the sewer fumes you could smell in the bar area had made it too hard to do their jobs, or care that they had one. No more. Save your time and money and go some place (preferably a local business) that appreciates you and your business. I want to like this Cheddars location - it is close to my home, and we love the vegetable plate option. But every time I decide to give it a try, it is a huge disappointment. We only do takeout because the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The takeout staff seems to be spending more time on their personal phones, and not attending the togo area than taking care of customers, and I don't ever remember a time when they got our order right. How hard can a vegetable plate be? I guess pretty hard! It took over 30 minutes during a slow period to get our food. A perfect example is the photos I took of the croissants we ordered. Same order - completely different look and taste. The red beans and rice seemed to have hot dogs in it instead of sausage, and the fries were so cold they were inedible. Presentation is a joke - there is none. This used to be a great value, but no more. Save your money and go somewhere that appreciates your business.
