Went for lunch, ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. It was amazing. Atmosphere was nice, staff were friendly welcoming and professional. 5 stars ⭐️. Most of the menu is more dinner than lunch. Portions are large. I might just have to order dinner before I leave to office though. Definitely recommend.

Finally!!!! I found a soul food place that takes me back home. I’ve lived here in Texas from Los Angeles over a year. As a chef I have visited a lot of food places in search of the right flavors, with no success. I’ve also tried to go and shop for the ingredients to do it myself, with no success. This place has done it right. With the collards braised in smoked turkey leg, the baked Mac n cheese with the right mixture of cheese to dry mustard, to that smackin braised ox tail and finished off with that buttered corn bread. This is a must find and try.

Hey Ya'll, I found a GEM! I saw the pictures on Google and figured this got a be good cause the pictures are too consistent! This is in a busy location but I can tell they were strategic. I will be back. Can't wait to try it again. My only complaint is I like food HOT and served when it comes out. Mines was tasty but more warm hot than hot out the grease, know what I mean.😊 My sides were warm and so was my meal as a whole. Otherwise, that's the only thing they could work on. Really nice decor and atmosphere inside. It's calm. Music not too loud or inappropriate ( at least while I was there). I think it's always important to remember not all customers are the same or LIVE the same life, so gotta be wise about the music played. While I was there, I didn't anything crazy but my antennas are always up. 😉 I had chicken friend chicken, greens , smashed potatoes and dat' unique cornbread. I really love when people or chefs go against tradition and take it up a notch. I really enjoyed the cornbread( I wish that was hot too but it's cornbread so🤤). Nice staff and owners and people. I will be back and glad I found it. So happy downtown Dallas FINALLY has a soul food restaurant that's quality and that has pride in what they do. I'll be bringing some people with me next time.

The vibe here is on point, from the music, employees, and especially the food. Oxtails with yellow rice was delicious and the chicken and pancake will make you want to slap yo momma!! Thank you for recommending the chicken and pancakes and the side of oxtails.

I love this place the perfect spot for some good ole soul food… my first time here from Kansas City MO….. the fish was fried to perfection shout out to everyone that was there the cooks the server the owner the hostess… the environment was wonderful was peaceful the music was a vibe the decor was everything just the right vibe…..

Kendall’s is hands down one of my favorite spots! The food is always on point, and the service is warm and welcoming every single time. I love watching this place grow and thrive, it’s clear so much heart and passion goes into everything. Highly recommend checking it out!

Excellent experience from the owner Fountaine and this crew; exceptional customer service! I came to Dallas from Cali to visit for a nurse conference and experienced this lovely establishment. The chicken & pancakes are delicious. Catfish also delicious. The music and vibes in the restaurant rounded out a beautiful experience that I shared with friends. If I am in town again, I will return! Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

This place is awesome. I am happy I got to meet the owner who named this restaurant after his daughter. I recommend the chicken and waffles with fruit on top. Not sure what they used for the syrup, but it was fantastic. My sister got the same thing. My son got the pasta with shrimp, which was great. Feel free to add your additional seasoning to that. My party also the salmon salad, and the catfish basket . I wanted to try dessert, but did not this time around. The restaurant is completely located.. My son spilled water. The man Was busting tables that came out to assist without me needing to ask. I wish I had more cash to tip him for his servant spirit

first, parking...it was our first time and didnt know how the parking situation will be like but we found a parking across the street for $11 for 4 hours. we ended up asking to make it a TO-GO order. i feel like with a different seating arrangements/layout the location can have more tables/chairs for customers. anyway, the food were so delicious. highly recommend this place. the oxtail was incredible! i love oxtail and they didnt disappoint 10/10😋. my bf had the ribs and he wished they gave 4 instead of 3 pieces since it was so delicious 😁.

I needed to grab a late dinner had just got off the rode from a five hour drive. If I tell you this food is finger licking good and I did lick and didn't leave anything on the plate. The jerk chicken and fried cabbage was bustin. The service was excellent , super friendly there was no wait and the atmosphere was amazing. They had good R&B playing in the background nice vibe to sit down eat and just enjoy your meal. I would recommend this place 10 times over and every time I come to the DFW I'll be making sure I stop by. I wanna try everything on the menu.

Man I dnt even know where to start. Those brothers in that kitchen cutting up. The food was unreal. I ordered the oxtails and my boyfriend ordered the ribs. Top tier!!!!!! We not gonna speak on how good the corncake I mean cornbread is. I was thinking about my next order while eating my first order. Had the pleasure of speaking with the owner Fontaine ( hope I spelled it right) what a heartwarming story he told us. I love seeing people succeed. Ive found my new spot when I visit Dallas. Im not an influencer, im not even on social media so please believe me when I say the food is a 20 outta 10!!!! I have nothing to gain from writing this review but hopefully if someone is like us, searching for good food, they make it to this slice of heaven!!!!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the pleasure of dining at Kendall’s Soul Food while in Dallas for a conference, and I’m still thinking about that meal! The chicken fried steak was enormous and, without question, the best I’ve ever had—perfectly seasoned with rich, flavorful gravy. I ordered a side of yams and they were out of this world—sweet, tender, and full of flavor. My son had the oxtails, and it was my first time ever trying them. I was genuinely shocked by how delicious they were. Every bite was tender and packed with flavor. If you’re looking for the best soul food in Dallas, head over to Kendall’s. It’s absolutely worth the visit! I know I’ll be back!

Oh. My. God. This was one of the best meals I have had in my life. I didn't even come to Dallas expecting to try their soul food, but something told me to give Kendall's a shot despite being in a sea of texmex and BBQ. Y'all. I live in Saint Louis. I've been to New Orleans more times than I can count. Cream sauce seafood pastas are one of my favorite things to make, and one of my favorite picks to order out, whether we're talking a garlic cream sauce or a Cajun cream sauce or anything in-between. If it's got seafood or if it's got pasta--or better yet, both--I'm IN. So I ordered their salmon which came with shrimp on a bed of creamy garlic penne. They KILLED IT. I could see them freshly preparing everything from the dining area; no microwaved noodles or frozen sauces from Sysco boiled in a bag here. (As such, it did take a good 20-25 minutes to get my food) It was absolutely phenomenal. Great music and clean dining area, too. The AC could use a little help, but I'd sit in the 100 degree Dallas sun shooing off all the panhandlers outside if it meant getting another plate from Kendall's someday.

The food was so good! Everything was so seasoned! You can definitely taste that the food was made from love! Everyone was so nice and great hospitality! They played some amazing music and wasn’t too loud like most restaurants. Although, it is pretty small I think they will grow bigger in the near future.

Kendall’s was absolutely amazing! I ordered the oxtail with mac and cheese and sweet potatoes, and everything was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. You can truly taste the care in every bite. My friends ordered the catfish, jerk chicken, and chicken fried steak, and they couldn’t stop raving about their meals either. Beyond the food, the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating, which made the whole experience even better. Kendall’s will definitely be a must-visit for us every time we come to Dallas. Highly recommend!

This. Spot. Was. BANGING! Let me say this. I had the best curry chicken I have ever had. The worst part? I forgot about it after I had the fried chicken. This chicken was seasoned to the HEAVENS AND BEYOND. Shrimp and salmon pasta….absolutely delicious. Cornbread was moist and light with a sweet essence just like I like it. Met and talked with the owner for over an hour. Hearing his story, his dedication to the craft makes this a spot I will frequent every-time I’m in town. This is soul food cooked with more than just soul. It is infused with love, passion, and a desire for greatness.

My family & I loved this restaurant! The food is amazing!! The owners were down to earth, friendly, & went out of their way to make sure that we were well taken care of! We enjoyed talking with them &, we made sure that they knew we loved their cooking!! If you are the area, please stop by because you will love everything this place has to offer!! I would have liked a couple more wings with my order and a 1 or 2 more pieces of catfish but all in all , they want you craving for more. Overall, I’d rate the food 5/10. The catfish was hot and had a great crunch-to-fish ratio, but it was too salty. The fries were even saltier than the fish. On the plus side, the tartar sauce tasted freshly made and was enjoyable, while the bread was just okay. The lemonade was too tart and unbalanced, so I exchanged it for an Arnold Palmer, which was slightly better. Besides the food, this place has a nice atmosphere. Thank you Kendall’s for the experience!

This is by far the nastiest crap I've ever had. I'm so pissed because I paid for parking for this 😡 The chicken is NOT done and I'm chewing and I can hear my teeth 🤢 . I ordered Pepper Jack Chicken!!! The rice was good but it was more sauce than the rice. It was a wet wet mess. I took two bites and I throw it up, up lie. My first bite and swallowed that in my belly. I was too excited to try the food. I made it back to work but now I have to go home because I throw up on myself alittle. Honest Review🤮
