Great pub, the heart of the Diss community. 2 bars. Front bar is a lovely place to relax and have a drink (or more). Back bar has 2 pool tables and 3 large TVs with Sky and BT sports for sporting events. Landlord regularly updates the Facebook page with what’s on. Fortnightly discos, every other Friday night. Regular live music from a variety of bands.

What a great pub… The landlady Grace and her husband James are second to none and really can’t do enough for you, it’s especially refreshing to see there zero nonsense policy towards anyone that causes any type of drama therefore the crowd they attract are genuine nice people. I look forward to being a customer for many more years to come 👍

Was really impressed by the way the real ale was kept in here. Had Doom Bar and Landlord on when I visited which I think is their normal selection. Prices were VERY reasonable and the beer was in very good condition. Stayed for two more rounds than we were intending!

Went to watch the football one afternoon. Nice place to stop for a beer and chat.

M
Matthew Tucker

Friendly female member of bar staff, chatty and easy-going. They have a pool table and a dart board (with a rather complicated digital scoring device). Some instructions for how to use that would be very useful!

N

Lovely pub Good prices Really nice staff I believe that on weekends on rear end of the pub there is karaoke on one of the days and a pool table, I usually prefer the side with nice chairs where I can watch the footy or hang with mates.

D

Nice staff, needs refurbishment which I'm told is going to happen then it will be the best pub in town , they don't serve food so there's no kids running riot or screaming therefore you can have a nice quiet drink.

C
Chris Whetter

A good bar. Excellent bar staff, good door staff. A nice environment to have a beer or a private party. It closes at 1:30 am on Friday night too

T

We were visiting Diss on vacation and noticed The Greyhound during the day. After some internet research, we decided to eat there that evening. Unfortunately, our research was incorrect, and we didn't bother to check why, but after asking for the food menu, the bar staff informed us that they were the only Pub in Diss that did not do food, hence no rating. The Bar Staff were however very helpful and advised several locations where we could get a good meal. The beer also was good, so the visit had some positive outcomes. They have two bars that we noticed, all the locals appeared to go through to the noisier back bar, we stayed in the front bar, which was well appointed, and very quiet, as we were the only occupants. I enjoyed it, if we were out that night only for drinks, then I would definitely have stayed all night.

Clean tidy, sports bar and Pool, real ales limited but well kept - some good lagers though.

Good pub, but sadly runs out of things

v
visan dorin

The pub itself it's good, not great but good for 2 3 beers, but try to go there when there is no band , since the location is quite small and the noise is really disturbing. At least then you can play some pool, wich is always good

S
Sarah Cox

Is an ok pub. Bit expensive but good pool tables and decent jukebox.

We have found ourselves in a situation where we need to be in Diss for 3 hours for one or two evenings a week so decided to find a local pub to use. First one we came across was the Greyhound. We walked into (what turned out to be) the “front bar”. It was empty, however the bar at the rear (which I didn’t even know how to get to) had a few people in it and we waited for the bar maid to come to serve us, it proved, even though she saw us waiting, to be a long wait. In fact people walked up to the back bar and got served straight away. After 10 minutes it became obvious we were being deliberately ignored so we left. Seems a great pub if your “a local”, but pretty unfriendly if your not. Barmaid with died red hair needs to find another vocation in life!

Went for a pint with my son. Service was awful, grumpy barmaid. Place was cold and looked run down. Beer choice was poor and expensive. We both agreed that next time, we'll make an effort to get out of Diss to a pub that actually appreciates your custom. Diss has lost a lot of its pubs over the last few years which should make the owners of the Greyhound wants to make an effort, however it seems the opposite. Shame but that's Diss for you. If Diss got a Wethersoons, it would be curtains for these rundown, miserable places with staff that make you feel that they are doing you a favour by serving you. Bring it on..

This pub is not the same since big Mamma business took over. Used to be a local for locals . The current lady lady, dressed in her finest with eyelashes to boot and an attitude born of a minimal self importance . Took it upon herself to make a judgement about me and when I took ubrance she used her bullying tactics against me. Hench nen were then instructed to remove me. Yes it may sound like I did something to deserve this, but I'm in my late 50 and like a night out now and then. Been around the block, but to be treated in this way us unacceptable. And yes, I will never go back
