“Reservations a must, nice waitress. Food was good” We walked in and it was very busy thankfully we had a reservation. The food was good not great. The waitress was vibrant and energetic but we had to repetitively ask several times for things she kept forgetting.

We visited from Nashville, Tn. Loved the atmosphere!!! I had the Petite Filet and my husband had the Ribeye. It was delicious!!!! We also had the bruschetta and French onion soup for appetizers. Both excellent choices. The service wAs very good. We felt like the restaurant was a little too much than Fayetteville can handle. It wasn’t busy for a Saturday night, but it was a nice restaurant that isn’t as appreciated as it should be. If we ever come back to Fayetteville we will be back!!!!!

Went for lunch. Food was delicious, and service excellent. Their Xmas decorations are gorgeous, and I would love to have a party there for the holidays. Don't know their schedule, but I would book early for Xmas.

A historic house that has been beautifully remodeled with decor that is elequent. The staff are professional and friendly. The food taste out of this world. An experience to remember! I do recommend making a reservation.

Absolute upscale deliciousness. Took my daughter for Sunday Brunch because my husband and i tried for lunch yesterday but unfortunately they don't have lunch hours. They asked if we had reservations, didn't know we needed one, but they were able accommodate us thankfully. Wasn't expecting the gorgeous setup buffet they had. All of it was perfectly cooked. The staff was attentive as well. Great price as well. Definitely will return for supper and breakfast again to this elegant setting restaurant .

Lovely lunch in the garden room. Quiche, wonderful soup and fruit for $11. I mention the price because some consider Hilltop House too expensive. You get a lot of great food for the money with attentive service and lovely atmosphere! Also fried green tomatoes and crab cake appetizer, which we split was wonderful! Will be back.

Had lunch today at Hilltop! We arrived close to the end of the lunch buffet and still found every tray full and a great selection. Each item we tried was delicious! Shrimp and grits were outstanding! The dessert was unbelievable. A delicious strawberry cake and also chocolate cake both were excellent. It was a great experience and although we live in Raleigh we plan to come back to enjoy it again as well as come for Sunday brunch.

Went here for dinner. The place was decorated for Christmas. GORGEOUS!!! Dinning hall was spacious, comtfortable chairs, clean, and organized. However you might miss the place if your driving down the road too fast. It's a beautiful house!!! My waiter and the hostess were pleasant, my food was delicious. The only thing some people might find odd/might not like is the menu changes.

We love Hilltop House! We visit for our Anniversary and Valentine's Day. Beth is so accommodating. The staff is friendly, courteous and professional. The food is immaculately prepared and presented. Delicious! Shout out to Robert! Thanks for tonight. Beth, we love you!

“Vibrant waitress, food good” We based our decision on trip advisor reviews. The food was very good. Portions adequate and it was very clean. We didn't use the facilities. They have beer and wine only. Sangria was good. Price fair

My family and I have Thanksgiving at hilltop house for a decade now. Always great and traditional style food and wonderful home style atmosphere . Plus to keep it contemporary they have crab legs and oysters on the half shell. Wonderful meal In a beautiful setting. Recommended for any time of the year

I have had nothing but great customer service and food at this place!! We just recently visited within the last 2 weeks and the food and service was once again great. However there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, not sure the reason but the times that my wife and I have visited it has never been that empty. Service still was good and food was great!! We brought along put Marriage Ministry.and they also enjoyed the food!!

Great variety of food on the buffet. Gratuity of 20% is added automatically to parties of any size with the check arriving with another tip line. I am not sure if it was our waiter or not but i could of certainly apprecieated better service.

Nice place for being a buffet. Seemed to be classy but food could have been better presented. Tends to get packed with limited parking. In all I would go back, when it's not busy.

Went to the hilltop for the brunch buffet. Some items were better than others. Overall the food was good. The prime rib was delicious. Crab legs were a bit salty for my taste, but I saw several folks enjoying them. The eggs Benedict were ok. Only because they sat too long, however the egg was running and delicious. The English muffin was the bad part of the dish. Too hard and chewy. The staff was polite and attentive. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The price for the buffet was about 25 which is reasonable for the quality of options they offer.

THIS RESTAURANT CLOSED IN MARCH, 2019. Atmosphere, Food, Value = excellent. Service = good. Great menu choices and very friendly staff. Designed for upscale clientele located near downtown Fayetteville in Haymont. The average lower middle class family member will have a coronary, when they get the dinner check. But it's appropriate for the quality of food and atmosphere. The buffet was superb. It is offered at certain times. Call and check on menu before making trip, if you expect it. RESERVATIONS highly recommended.

Pretty outstanding brunch selection! Waffle/omelette station, crab legs, oysters, & shrimp! Cheesy potatoes, shrimp and grits, mac and cheese, salad, fruit, etc! Amazing crème brûlée and bread pudding. Great bloody Mary's and mimosas, you can't go wrong with this selection for the price! Clean, friendly atmosphere, and all the food you can eat!

Came here for dinner on Saturday night. Very quiet. It’s a very cute place and I liked the atmosphere. However, the food was only ok, and definitely overpriced. I ordered Chicken Marsala and it was hmmm...ok....Wasn’t bad but I can’t give any “OMG it is so good!” type of comments to this dish.

I am stationed at Fort Jackson and came home to surprise my wife with dinner at Hilltop for Valentine"s Day. I had gone up there earlier that day and dropped off roses and a card, she loved that nice touch. We arrived at Hilltop at around 5:45 pm, for our reservation. We got our table right away and ordered wine and lobster fondue. The fondue never came and we asked our waitress to check on it. About 5 minutes later she came back and told us there was a mix up in the kitchen and the fondue was not put in. She said they would take it off the bill, which makes sense because we didn't get it. We said no that we still wanted it if they could get it out at a reasonable time. She said about five minutes. After about 15 minutes she came back and said it would be one more minute. Five minutes later, she brought it out....and it was cold. Keep in mind that we had been there for about an hour and 10 minutes to get our cold fondue. I called her back over and told her it was cold and that they had forgotten the candle underneath which was supposed to keep hot in the first place. We asked for a manager now and he came out and was very apologetic and offered free deserts. At this point, I asked her to just take it away and bring our meals. We both ordered the filet and lobster with the filet cooked medium. She immediately brought our salad and soup (shrimp bisque...really great, the highlight of the evening). By the time we finished these she brought our meals. My steak was a perfect medium, but cold. My wife's steak was completely brown without a hint of pink to be found. Both of the lobsters were cold (how do you serve cold drawn butter?) I told her to just bring me the check for what we had gotten and that I wanted to leave. A different manager came out this time and was very nice, but our valentine's day was already ruined. She comped what little we had gotten to eat and we left to find some food we could eat. Two (+) hours we will never get back and a romantic evening ruined. In all fairness, the people were great, but it does not make up for the ridiculous time we lost and the inedible food on our special night.

The food was okay. A few dishes were excellent. The wait was horrible. They have a buffet set up with no real organization. Too many lines to one buffet causes upset and hungry customers. The parking is ATROCIOUS

Brunch buffet food quality, variety and replenishment are good for the most part. However, Caveat Emptor: this establishment tacks on an arbitrary 21% surcharge to every meal without prior notice, which is explained as an 'Administrative Fee', for singles as well as groups. This is a rather dubious and questionable practice, particularly in the case of a buffet. Moreover, do not allow yourself to be conjoled by the offer of 'bottomless mimosas'. What you receive is a glass of orange juice with a "spritz" of supposedly champagne, refilled only once every 15-20 minutes. Ergo...misleading and false claims of actual 'mimosas'. Further raises concerns regarding the integrity of the establishment and owner, ad questions regarding other dubious practices.

I can't currently give an adequate review because the menu I ate from was a limited menu. For atmosphere and ambiance its top notch. My first visit will definitely not be my last. I am attributing the poor quality of food to the fact that I was with a large group for a Christmas party and it was late. However given it was still prays for the cold could've attempted to make the orders correct, the steak was cold and not cooked as requested. Now their cheesecake is to die for. It is beyond delicious. I will be returning to see how other foods taste.

Quiet for dinner on Saturday night. Classy decor. Costly one-page menu. Appetizers are tasty and come in good portions for two to four people sharing (spinach and artichoke dip is legit). Service is nice but slow.

I went there for brunch; the food was pretty good (very good for Fayetteville, I suppose). The service was not very good, and I understood why when I got the check. There was an automatic 20% gratuity, which is very high, especially for a buffet, so the servers don't have much incentive to provide good service. When I saw that I said to the server: "20%? Are you guys hiring?". She laughed. I was serious.

I'm simply going to reprint the e-mail I sent to Hilltop House after stewing for a few weeks about the horrible food and poor service I experienced at this restaurant, which was recommended by the manager at the Hilton Double tree in Fayetteville. By the way, I am still waiting for a response from restaurant management to my e-mail. I won't hold my breath. Oh yes, I didn't mention in my e-mail that the rolls covered with cheese and melted butter looked delicious, but had absolutely no taste and the soup was pretty bad too. E-Mail: I hope this e-mail finds its way to the owner because I believe that critical feedback can only help business. I wasn't going to bother contacting you after my less than satisfactory dining experience at your restaurant while traveling down to Florida last month, but last night I ordered a Rib eye at a popular restaurant in Sanibel Island, where I'm vacationing, that was thick, juicy and hot, and surprisingly, was less expensive than your steaks. That leads me to my experience at your restaurant, which, by the way, was recommended by the manager at the Hilton Doubletree, where we stayed over night. My buddy and I drove around on a rainy night after a 12-hour drive from Connecticut looking for your restaurant and were quite relieved when we found it. We were taken into your bar, which is a very nice room, and were attended to by, I think, a waitress in training. My friend ordered a cup of soup and your junior Rib eye with baked stuffed potatoes. I ordered the strip steak with baked stuff potatoes. He ordered his steak medium and I ordered mine medium rare. The soup came shortly after we placed our order as did the rolls and salads. But, we waited a good half hour for our entrees to arrive. When they did arrive, our meals were cold, my friend's Rib eye was practically raw and our baked stuffed potatoes were as hard as rocks. In addition, my Strip steak was round and chalky tasting. Frankly, I've never seen a round "Strip" steak. My friend was served a regular sized Rib eye, instead of the junior size he ordered. To be honest, we said nothing about either of these situations because we were just tired and very hungry at that point. Since our waitress never came back to ask how our dinners were, we told another waitress passing by of our situation and she immediately apologized and sent the food back. When it came back, both steaks were tasteless, as were the baked stuffed potatoes, so we took a couple of bites and pushed our plates away. Our first waitress came by and asked if we'd like our check, not, "how were your dinners," or "can I get you dessert?" A few minutes later, the other waitress who had taken our food back, came over and asked how our meals were. I told her that they were both less than mediocre and that for a top-dollar restaurant, they really needed to make some changes. She apologized and said, "I'm not really surprised because we're having a tough night tonight." Okay, so tell us you're not going to charge us for the meals or make some kind of gesture. She did ask if we wanted to speak with the chef and I said that was her decision to do so or not. We've expressed our dissatisfaction and she should take it from there. The conversation ended with her saying that when we drive back north at the end of February, we should stop back and give the restaurant another try. Frankly, my friend and I looked at each other in disbelief and said for a $70.00 check plus tip, we weren't inclined to give it another try. Whether or not you deem it appropriate to do anything at this point, I had to get this off my chest because the more I thought about it, the more irrate I got. Thanks for your time and consideration.

So sad that the owner doesn't come through on what she promises. If I were any military member or prior service, I wouldn't go visit this establishment ever. Shame on you for lying and backing out. Yes, the 4 items you gave us were free but the problem is you told us you would cater the event. Two months ago you even offered your establishment to host this event. I called you weekly and left messages with no return calls. This week you said you can't cater the event but would provide the food. You said it would be ready by 12 and you made me sit around for 2 hours with a 6 month old baby waiting for 4 items.(The Baby Shower started at 2) For the first 1 hour and half you didn't even offer me a drink of water and when your mom asked you if you were going to help you stated, "You don't have time for this"! Time for what? Keeping your word? I will tell all the people I know and hopefully people read this and realize that what you did was wrong. You should apologize to the 40 mothers that were expecting food for this event. You lost my business and hopefully many others once I announce this to all the people in the Ft.Bragg and surrounding area. Hopefully people remember me sitting there today patiently with my son. Hopefully people realize I was almost in tears that you lied. I got your voice mail where you stated I haven't called. I called every week. Funny that you can call back so quick when it comes to me telling the truth to all that I know. Have a nice day and hopefully you lose a lot of business.

Been here 6-7 times, all ranged from favorable to really good. Today was a bomb. Most buffet servers were empty, only meat was roast beef, salad had wilted lettuce, had to refill our own water glasses. Something that I've missed in past visits, they add an 18% gratuity and have an extra line in case you would like to leave an additional TIP. I can chalk up the bad meal and bad service to, "it's going to happen once in a while". The word Gratuity is defined as, being greatful and rewarding someone for the level of service that they have provided.. I will not tolerate the arrogance of any proprietor that assumes their establishment is perfect. I will make my own decision. Never to return.

Good food, but small portions. I left hungry. This was partially due to the poor wait staff. Our waiter forgot our appetizers, after a few reminders and awkward encounters we gave up. We continually had to remind him to refill drinks. This in itself seemed to be a difficult job. Additionally gratuity was added to our bill even though we only had 5 people at our table. Not sure if this is standard or just ensuring a tip. Overall, there are much better places to go in Fayetteville.

I called repeatedly to make a reservation and the phone was not answered. I left messages and I was not called back. We arrived as a walk in and were asked if we had a reservation... The restaurant itself is nice, comfortable while still feeling special. The brunch buffet however was a huge letdown. The chaffing dishes were either empty or the food within was over cooked to the point of unappetizing. For example, while tasty, the fried chicken was soggy and the larger pieces not fully cooked. The cold salads and fruit held no interest and looked like dishes often found as afterthought items on a diner dish. IE: cubed unripe melon and orange slices with the rind still on mixed in a bowl. At this price point and with the description on it's website I was expecting better preparation, presentation, and execution. The redeeming qualities were the wait staff, including the omelet station attendant, and the overall atmosphere. It left me wondering if dinner might be better seasoned and cooked.

A month ago I made reservations at the Hilltop House for for a special Valentine's Day occasion. We had previously been to the restaurant for their Sunday brunch several times before and I thought it would be a picturesque evening. Having worked in fine dining for years prior to joining the military I have a strong base of dining experience to draw from. I can understand a 30 minute wait, despite having reservations (it was Valentines Day). What I can't seem to wrap my mind around is everything else. I've never been refused a drink while waiting for a table. Despite our waitress' pleasant disposition ( her name was Bargain - Ironic huh?) the service was horrendous. We weren't greeted for 15 minutes, water glasses were never refilled, several nearby tables opted for their meals to-go after waiting hours for service, prime rib took 1 hour 30 minutes, and then they automatically tacked on 20% gratuity. Add the cramped layout, uncaring / unattentive wait-staff, and a $175 tab for 2. It was one of the most HORRIBLE experiences we have ever had out! The best part was the shrimp cocktail, which showed up and was finished 12 minutes prior to us receiving our first couple glasses of wine. Despite our displeasure, and the evident anger of the other patrons closely sitting by, management never once came by to address the situation!!! I'm utterly shocked that this restaurant is still in business, because they do not care one iota about providing great service or a worthwhile experience. If anyone you know suggest dinner here, I recommend you spend your money, and more importantly your time at a venue that cares about providing a good product to their customers.

Prom guests had reservations Saturday, 4/9/16, at 5:30. Slow unattentive servers, who receive gratuity regardless of performance, only appetizers served in the first hour to two guests in the party, no refills before dehydration, and meat so rare it was bleeding profusely all across the plate when it finally arrived, served with only a butter knife with which to slice it. Has the ownership changed since 2013-2014? It seems someone has taken on more than they can manage. It is a shame that such a fine establishment could be so poorly operated. These young adults were there until 8:00 and arrived late to their prom at the Botanical Gardens. What a horrible night to look back on when it should have been a beautiful event to remember. They were treated like thieves, unwanted occupants, taking up the space of someone else, obviously more deserving and important and then to be robbed by the staff of a pleasant experience, welcomed hospitality and a monetary price well above the status of service of any employee present that evening. You should all be ashamed for ruining a fairy tale night with your house of horror presentation. I do hope someone will personally contact those eleven customers and offer some form of compensation for their patience and grief.

My experience seems to be the opposite of most here. Maybenit was an odd day but here’s how my brunch at Hilltop went: Got in and was met by the friendly hostess. Got to our table and server Robert asked us for our drinks. He also explained how the starter plates worked. No explanation of the mimosas or are they even part of the brunch? That I still don’t know. We asked for orange juice. Which at that was $3.00 each with free refills. Shouldn’t that be part of the hefty charge already though? At $24.95 per adult and $11.95 for kids???!!! Well it wasn’t. As for the food, it was okay. We compared the brunch to a very similar spread that you can get a Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines. Needless to say it was night and day. The fried chicken was dry and looked like leftovers from KFC, the mac and cheese was soupy, brisket was bland...really bland, everything else was okay. Oh the fresh oysters were a hit but then again they didn’t have to cook them. Let’s just say that if I was in the mood for brunch, was already hungry and stomach growling...I’d still drive an hour to Mid Pines. Service: Robert initially charged my son a 12 year old full adult price. I asked him about it and he corrected the check but at that telling me that he normally charges by how much the person eats not his age!!!! Really, seriously....then this information should be put out in the begining. Like “HEY I WILL JUDGE YOU WHILE YOU ARE HERE”. Our silverware was taken from our table and our table looked like we were being told to leave. We had to get our own silverware to compensate. We were never offered it after it was taken. I guess we were welcomed guests huh. The bill had a 20% gratuity charge in there already. Wasn’t informed of that either. I just wanted to take my son on our day to a nice meal where we could enjoy Fayetteville’s finest but was judged instead.

Booked the Yellow Sun room three weeks prior to actual event. Emailed Beth multiple times about our event and got quick replies back. Once I asked to make sure I was getting the room I wanted I got no replies. We get there and are told we will be in the Red Room, which is not at all the room I wanted or payed for. They booked another party of 100 guests in the room I had payed for. I had no choice but to go with the red room. I had to replan how I was going to lay out my decorations for my event. I asked where I could place my cake, which I explained I wanted to be the focal point of my event. A short old lady with short hair came out with a very rude attitude and asked me to just put it on a table in the corner of the room. She "allowed" me to move extra plates on a table to place my cake there. I told her I wanted it there so I could hang decorations. She told me with a snarky attitude that I am "not allowed to hang anything on our walls". I had emailed Beth about it before and she told me it was okay to do so. After showing the email, she simply said "You better not mess up our walls." And left. The waitors were great. I arrived about 45 minutes before my party to set up my event. Our waitor was great. We recieved drinks and were asked multiple times if we needed anything or any help setting up. Our waitor was a highlight of the evening. Food was good, but a little pricy. A 20% gratuity was automatically added on to an already high price.

I made reservations 2 wks prior for a romantic night out on V-day, I was expecting to pay at least $120-$150 dollars. The reviews were great and it was my first time there, when I made the reservation I requested a table for two. When I got there the place was packed, there were 5 couples standing at the door and the hostess was running around. The door of the restaurant was open because of the line and there was a room next to the door with a couple sitting there with their coats on. My wife and I where hoping we would not be seated there. After a 15 min wait while the hostess got her act together and finally got to us, she directed us to the cold room. I asked if we could be seated elsewhere, she curtly said NO, and dropped the menus and left. The table was next to a tree that rubbed agains my back throughout dinner. I should have left then, but there are little choices in Fayetteville and the good ones are booked well in advance. The server came and he was in a hurry, we heard his named yelled a few times throughout dinner, Robert - hurry up and clean table 5…. His attention was not all there and it showed. I ordered a cup of wine and I got maybe 3oz of wine in cup - at $9.50. We ordered an appetizer, which was very good then dinner. Everything took forever to get to us, the food was overcooked and luke warm at best with the coffee at the end of the meal ice cold. The neighboring table also ordered a coffee equally cold. When Robert finally brought the coffee back it was warm, NOT hot as should be expected but interesting enough it was a half cup, just like the wine. At the end when I asked for the bill there was a $19.56 gratuity added without asking. When I asked Robert he said that the menu plainly states that 20% gratuity and 9.5% tax will be automatically added to all checks. Then the check comes with an additional line for you to add another tip…. Well here is a tip Ms Beth Shearin-Smith - don't skimp on $9.50 glasses of wine, don't serve half cups of coffee, don't over cook $60 steaks, and don't yell at your server where your customers can hear, do turn on the heat in a room where your customers are trying to have a romantic dinner, and don't include a $20 gratuity when your service is terrible!! I will not go there again, unless I want to be treated badly, overpay for bad food, and feel like I got robbed on a glass of wine.

So planned date night, got a sitter bought new clothes , n planned on taking the wife to a fancy dinner. So half way through our 30 min wait to get drinks and appetizers our waiter walks off the job. Waited another 30 min for our food to show up before we left hungry and disappointed. N btw they cant make a 7 and 7 brandy old fashion, n after they served me a warm miller light i was informed that was the last one. How the f do you stay in business

Having made a reservation through "open table" weeks in advance for Valentine's dinner, confirmation emails and additional calls to review readiness on such a busy night with out of town guest...what a disappointment! Arrived at 6:50 p.m. for a 7:15 reservation with a greeting of "what do you need?" at the front desk between switching hostess...standing in the hall way, dodging kitchen traffic for fifteen minutes because the bar of overbooked...once seated at the bar the bartender could not have been nicer and the service was delightful. After an additional hour plus of bar we were plunked down at a table located almost "under" the bar...the poor server was doing his best, observing that most everyone was in the same boat in our dining area...we waiting an additional hour as people appeared to be pulled from the crowd to serve food? strange as it seemed to have a fellow with slacks, street shoes and shirt tail hanging out serving...it appeared the problem was in the kitchen. Then, a loud, brawny women in a chef's jacket appeared behind the bar, shouting and complaining in turning the whole atmosphere to brewing of bar fight...now as three hours had passed and no food we asked for our check and left. The same women burst out the kitchen door, at least I think it was the kitchen door, shouting we had dined and dashed...we had no dining and three hours of waiting certainly isn't dashing...yelling we were drunk, she was calling the cops....she did leave short of grabbing my arm but did that of my date's as we encouraged her to call the cops, sounded like a good idea. We gave her $40.00 in cash, at least....by this point I was so embarrassed and my poor date was handed money to get the woman to calm down, I truly am not sure. It was at this point that she stated that she was not the owner as she had been screaming....and if indeed she was a chef if she had stayed in the kitchen on such a busy night all our and the other would be diners might have received food. I do not consider myself a connoisseur of find dining but have in my past dined in many very fine restaurants and recently moved to this area from Charleston, South Carolina...I'll have to say "this just beat all" !!! The topping of this experience is the city police calling on me at my home from a complaint of this woman, no one gave her name but the nice policemen described her, that I owed Hilltop House $60.00 for the wine! I just can't describe my disappointment of moving to a historic city such as Fayetteville, North Carolina and this being considered the "best" in town! Not true.....this is just the first letter I plan to pen, next is the editor of the local newspaper, Open Table for certain and of course the Better Business Bureau. $90.00 for six glasses of wine (two each over a three hour period) have no idea what the food would have cost should I received it! Owner is very condescending and deceiving. Please pay your waiter with cash because she feels as though she can use your tip money to "tip" the cooks in the back and whatever else excuse she can use. In reality she pockets the money. The food is pretty good im not going to deny that fact. The waiters and waitresses care about what they do and offer great service. This is a horrible company to work for. The owner Beth Smith has her favorites and cheats her employees. God is in control and will take care of everything.

Worst dining experience in Fayetteville, ever. Despite the attractive atmosphere, the service was inattentive, bordering on non-existent. My "not dirty" martini came "dirty". There were no appetizer plates provided with our appetizer (which was the only plus in the whole evening) so the bread plates and butter knives had to do double duty, which was OK since we never received any bread or butter anyway. The "bread" that came after over one hour wait was generic, Wal-Mart frozen dinner rolls. Though the Hilltop House web-site states that all Entrees are served with a choice of salad or cup of soup and fresh baked Hilltop bread, that simply isn't true. Salads of any sort are extra and the "bread" is as I described. After one and a half hours, we left. The manager on duty stated that the usual wait for food at Hilltop was 2 hours. My recommendation is to "eat at your own risk".

Went there for Valentine's Day. Service to no fault of waitress (table load too high) Soup was cold and tased like it came out of can. Medium steak was more like very rare. Did not enjoy meal.

I have eaten here a few times before and accepted the lackluster service and bland food as par for this area. We put up with it as there are not many choices in Fayetteville. But our last trip definitely takes the cake. My wife and I had dinner at The Mashouse, then dessert at Morgans, and finally decided on a nightcap at The Hilltop House...just drinks. We called ahead about 9:15 to ensure that this would be alright and the hostess said it was fine; they didn't close till 10. Well, when we arrived, the hostess had us wait by the hostess station while she went to the back bar. I could overhear some discussion which was basically along the lines of, "the kitchen is closed, tell them they have to leave". I thought this rude customer service and went to the back to see what the problem was. When I got to the back, the employees were playing Wii on the flat screen and were obviously surprised by my presence. I asked the person who seemed to be the ringleader, "Do you like your job?" to which he replied "I'm the owner". This guy was in flip flops and cargo shorts playing video games with his employees and ushering customers, who had called ahead, out the door! Insanity. He then proceeded to get very close to me, argumentative, and then actually grabbed my arm as we walked out of the restaurant. I've never epxerienced anything like this before and, quite honestly, can't wait to see this place shut down. I intend to tell everyone we know to avoid this place at all costs and hopefully word will spread that this place is a ridiculous sham. Utterly disgusted!

They didn't disclose the upcharge of the Mother's Day brunch. The food was mediocre. And we didn't get to-go boxes. After I paid $40 for breakfast and I don't even get to take some of that incredibly expensive food with me... That was a disappointment I couldn't bear.

We dind't knew that this was a reservation only restaurant. Just in the entrace a frat boy denied us service in very despective and awful manner, we even felt like we owned him the air around us. The white couple behind us which also didn't had reservation was seated in a heart beat, I don't know if they were regulars or what but looked to us they have serious racism issues.. Took our business and 30% tips to Luigis.

If I could give no stars I would... ordered a ribeye med rare, but was served “moo-ing” at me. They took the steak back and brought back a filet mignon. I guess they know what’s best for me...NOT. If you see an old house on the right, just keep going. Do yourself a favor and skip over dining here!

Was greeted by an unattended door waited for about five minutes to be greeted by a Blasé hostess. Was seated and didn’t get greeted by the waiter till about 10 Minutes in and wasn’t told how the brunch buffet works. I was completely UNDERWHELMED by the selection food was bland and poorly organized. For the price I paid and the 20%added gratuity I feel I deserve a refund and a apology! This place doesn’t know fresh nor how to properly conduct a brunch buffet the atmosphere was staler than the English muffins for the eggs Benedict. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worse enemy!

Food poisoning.Food Sub-par... Overly priced To much salt in everything. I felt like I was going to have a stroke. The floors need to be refinished, the decor was a mixture of cheesy and cheap. There were few classy elements for the price. You are paying for private rooms and creative plating, not the taste of the food. Would not go back unless my arm is twisted. Agree or not... it's YOUR Money... but I would look up the menu prices first.

Huge, awful experience the owner just tried to fight me (literally) because I told her she needs to put a sign that theres meat in the shrimp & grits, not one but two types of ham and sausage which are invisible to the eye. when i asked her if there was meat she unapologetically said it was obvious that there's meat in the shrimp and grits and she has been serving people this way for 14 years. I asked two of her own staff prior to speaking with her if there was meat and they said "I don't know let me go check." So tell me how obvious is it really? This all happened after I had eaten the food. I usually ask but none of the food is labeled with meat and it has pork in it. This owner has No Respect for people's dietary restrictions or personal well-being. Violent, threatening, and rude customer service and the food could be better with an improvement in attitude and service. Really don't know how she managed to get away with such poor service and has never met others who don't eat pork. Then they add a hefty Admin fee to your bill disguised as gratuity as if you won't notice. Very embarrassed over her lack of concern for her guests. Don't waste your $67 for only two guests. Ridiculous.

Sunday Brunch buffet...overall is terrible; it’s quantity over quality! I’ve been to some really great Sunday brunches but this isn’t one of them. Many items taste sooo dry, over cooked, reheated and/or freezer burned. The fried chicken was so tough and dry it was inedible...obviously wasn’t eve close to fresh. Tried the eggs Benedict, the yolk was as hard as a boiled egg, on top or the English muffin was hard/burnt American type cheese...inedible...Yuck! Boiled peel & eat shrimp was mushy from being cooked so far in advance and stored in the cooler for who knows how long. Biscuits were hard and dry even after gravy tasted old & not fresh. I looked at my spouse and said “what do you think...she replied, “Awful” as I looked at her plate and she had eaten only one bite of each item on it. I guess the attraction here is the “all you can eat” mentality & that more is better... and for many folks that’s OK...go back and fill your plate 5 or 5 times. For my $38.95 plus 20% automatically added to the check for gratuity I’d rather have a small portion of tasty fresh food. Of course I would tip the staff but I don’t think 20% should be automatically added to the check as a forced policy. This was my 3rd time there and it was definitely the last. Looks good from far but far from good! No more buffets for me. On a positive note, the staff was very hospitable and accommodating especially with a full house of people!
