Holly, our waitress took excellent care my wife and I. The warmth and courtesy made our evening here so much more enjoyable. Though we were the last customers to arrive and leave , the service was prompt yet unrushed. We loved the flavors and aroma of the fajitas, chips and 3 types of salsas and tres leches cake. We'd love to be back.

Me and My Sister came in about 3:30 And Ate Service was Excellent I don't recall our waiter name he was awesome Very Attentive. Hostess was very nice opening door for Folks with walkers,Canes She help one Guy that was blind out with his wife .You can the Team work together and they enjoy there job.This was my first time in will be back.

Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant in Fort Worth was a hit! We started with the chips and salsa trio (each one flavorful) and added the queso creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned. For our entrée, we shared the Fajita Combo for two with four meats: grilled chicken, tender steak, and double shrimp. The meats were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The sides sealed the deal fresh flour tortillas, mashed potatoes, Mexican rice, Cilantro lime rice, and black beans. Everything came out hot and fresh. The service was friendly, and servers even came from other tables to check on us (love that teamwork). No wait time, great location right at the front of Hulen Mall, and food worth coming back for. I’ll definitely return to this location and check out other Abuelo’s restaurants too!

My wife and I visited the restaurant today and wanted to share our positive experience. We were promptly seated and didn't have to wait long before being served. Our server, Brianna, was attentive and quickly brought us chips with a three-sauce sampler, as well as a separate habanero dip, upon her recommendation. My personal favorite of the four was the fire-roasted salsa, which had a wonderful kick and great flavor! We also enjoyed the freshly made guacamole, which had a nice mix of fresh peppers and onions. For our main courses, we ordered the Chicken Tacos and the Green Chile Pork Chimichanga. The tacos were perfectly seasoned, and the chimichanga was exceptionally good – large, crispy, and generously filled with pork and green chiles. In fact, it was the best chimichanga I've ever had. We also tried the El Jefë margaritas, and we enjoyed their taste. We also had the pleasure of meeting Chad, one of the managers, who thoughtfully checked in on us, at our table, twice during our visit.

After reading several positive reviews about this restaurant, I was confident that it would be good, and thanks to Google Reviews it ended up being a great choice. Pretty much all the 1-star ratings had more to do with the service rather than the food. I did not experience any poor service whatsoever. Not only was our server very friendly and attentive, but another server volunteered to take our picture after she saw us struggling to get a group selfie. Food-wise, for starters, the chips and salsa were absolutely amazing. They were thin and crispy, and the 3 different sauces gave a variety of flavours. The best one hands-down was the green one. I knew there was something citrusy about it, but I couldn't figure out what fruit it was. After asking the server, we found out it had pineapple in it. It was subtle and not overpowering. When we were out of chips, our server brought a new batch without us having to ask for more. One small recommendation: the larger circular dishes should be used instead of the square ones, because it's not easy to dip the chips and they don't hold enough salsa. For my main dish, my burrito was absolutely perfect. The shredded beef was tender and easy to cut into. The guacamole was buttery smooth. The rice was fluffy, not hard like with many mexican restaurants I've been to before. 5 stars all the way!

Went for a late lunch and had an amazing experience! The food was DELICIOUS and I really love the salsa variety that comes complimentary instead of just 1 salsa. Everything was so tasty, and the Spanish sangria was good too.

This place was great. I didn't even know it was over here by the mall. Went for lunch on a Thursday. Party of 3. Sat immediately so that was awesome. It wasn't to busy at all. The environment was nice, very open and spacious. They had some good music playing as well. They started us out with chips n salsa. They had 3 diff types instead of just one bowl like other places. We went ahead and ordered a cup of cheese as well. Very tasty. I ordered a side salad very late after our first appetizer but our waitress immediately went to make and grab it for me!! Oh I got their strawberry lemonade to drink and it was great. Anyways, I'm a big guy so of course I ordered The Grande. It comes with a mix of enchiladas, fried pepper, small tamale, rice/beans and a taco!! The enchiladas I'm chillie sauce was so delicious!! The taco was great as well. I was very happy with how everything was prepared. It tasted fresh and everything was hot. I will definitely make this my new go to for Mexican in the area.

I really enjoyed this Mexican restaurant — the plates were so flavorful. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the lively atmosphere makes it a fun place to eat.

Chili relleno platter: one cheese, one shredded beef covered with queso. All in all good - not exceptional. Beans had a hint of lime to them. Rice was fine. The service was exceptional, the food reminded you it was a chain restaurant.

Food was really nice, but they wouldn't celebrate our sons birthday. That was a disappointment as it's the reason for us dining out that evening. The Tres Leches Cake was the least favourite for all.of us.

Great Tex/Mex good value for the money, lunch and dinner served. March 18 2025, called in my first delivery order from abuelo's normally I go there and eat rather than have it delivered but I thought I tried delivery one time since the last time I was there which is about a year ago. They can change one thing and I think would be great and that's put a square piece of wax sandwich paper underneath the food being put into the cardboard trays that they use for delivery, it causes a problem due to the moisture wicking of the cardboard and it makes the enchiladas that I got stick to the cardboard and I just had to basically tear apart all my enchiladas to get at the dinner they wouldn't come out like they went on a normal plate. So avoid those if you're listening one square piece of wax paper inside the cardboard containers that you use for the dinners and taking dinner out would be a lot easier to put on a plate and or eat it won't get absorbed by the cardboard. Other than that it's very tasty dinner just like I ate there just the hot plates are missing haha LOL. I attached one photo from today which is the one that looks like a dog had been through the box ripping up the insides that's what your food looks like when it adheres to the cardboard and I'm sure it was used as an environmental effort to use degradable materials but it also degrades your dinner. 3/22/25 - management reached out an accepted my possible solution to the food adhering to the cardboard bottom.

I was not impressed with my dishes. Some in our party liked theirs, but my opinion is way too much cheese and not the good kind. My opinion again is that it was more TexMex, not anything authentic. My dish was Chile Relleno and an Enchilada.... I will say the guacamole was delicious! Our server was excellent. She kept sodas and teas refilled as soon as they were empty. She worked hard for our group of 7. Smiling and efficient! Also, the hostess was friendly and engaging!

My order was incomplete and what we received was almost inedible. One of the plates was supposed to contain a enchilada, a crispy taco, and a tamale but there was no taco. He rated this tamale as the worst he’d ever had. We’ve been married for over 25 years and that seemed unlikely but after discussion he maintained that it was the second worst enchilada. His enchilada, all three of my enchiladas, and both enchiladas in the third plate for chewy, as though they had all been microwaved. To be clear, I grew up making homemade tortillas and these weren’t “chewy good” they were “chewy nasty.” All of the enchiladas. Your company should be ashamed to serve food like this for the prices you’re charging. I gave them * * * for atmosphere trying to be fair because we had it delivered and I have no idea what the atmosphere is like and that’s a middle of the road rating. I don’t expect all Mexican food to be like what I grew up with or even like real Mexican food, real Tex-Mex, or real Cali-Mex, but for $15-25 per plate I expect something that is of a higher quality than what I’m likely to find in a hospital cafeteria. Abuelo’s does NOT deliver. This is a classic example of style over substance.

Zero stars- roach in the middle of my chicken enchiladas! Uber Eats order but I called to notify the Manager on duty, she was extremely apologetic but now I’m probably going to starve to death as I can’t imagine eating anything ever again 🤢😫
