The Blue Hole is a beloved spot for authentic Belizean cuisine, known for its flavorful dishes and friendly service. Leslie, the owner, is frequently praised. Some find the portion sizes small relative to the cost, particularly for oxtails.

Tip: Try the salbutes and garnaches. If they have beans panades, ask for them, even if they aren't on the menu.

Traveled to Hawthorne for work and found this place on Google. Never had Belizean food so I thought I’d try it out. Food was amazing and service was extraordinary. The server(I think his name was Lesley?) answered all my questions and even offered a side of spicy, pickled chopped onions which gave the dishes an extra “umph”. First day, I ate the oxtail and it was fall off the bone(just be careful, some bones can be sharp). There was an option to replace a side with ducunu, which is kinda like a sweet tamale without the filling, and it was delicious! I saw their menu had a sample plate of Belizean food, so obviously I had to come back the next day and every single thing on that plate was delightful. If only I still lived in SoCal 😭 If I ever come back to Hawthorne, this place is the first place I’m coming to eat(other than In-n-out 🤣)
Food was delicious! Felt like I was transported back to Belize spending time with my family. The food is delicious and the service was great. I wouldn't recommend going starving as the food does take a little bit to come out, but i promise the wait is worth it!
First time at the Blue Hole and it was a wonderful experience😁. The music and decor were nice. The service was very good. Leslie was very attentive and caring. The food was absolutely delicious! I'll be going back very soon! Don't miss the wonderful Belizean food and ambiance! Big ups!👌
I'm so glad that I stopped by the Blue Hole Restaurant after class. The food was great. The music and service was excellent. I ordered the all day breakfast with eggs, bacon, refried beans, fruits and fryjack. I also ordered the sampler platter with garnaches, panades, salbutes, and tostadas. Authentic Belizean food. I highly recommend. 10/10
You need to eat their food at least once. Had the cow foot soup, will be coming here again and again. Thank you to Lesly and Andrea for the wonderful everything
Omg this is definitely a hidden gem. I got the salbutes and garnachas and boyyy oh boyyy were they good. The owner ... it seems was the host and the chef or atleast that's what it looked like. If so, he was doing a great job. My food was fresh and tasted awesome!!! I'll definitely be back!!!
True Caribbean gem for the city of LA. This jerk w the stew was most flavorful and juicy than any jerk I’ve had at the other options nearby. The fried chicken hit like KFC in ‘94. The arroz morro took me back home. I learnt the blue hole actually a natural landmark in the Caribbean
This place has the best food & homemade drinks. This has been my 2nd time coming & I am not disappointed. All the flavors hit & the workers are so friendly.
The owner is super cool. Customer service wonderful. The food is pretty tasty 😀 Great music and very clean.
Literally just left, the fried chicken is sooooooo good! I’m assuming the person at the counter was the owner seems to really be passionate about the dishes.

The food was good. We got Oxtails, jerk and stew chicken. The taste was excellent. The portion size of the meat did not meet the cost. We picked up togo orders and were surprised when we got home. I attached a picture of the oxtails. I gave them 5 stars because I didn’t have a chance to give them the opportunity to fix it.
The food is so authentic Belizean cuisine. We got some salbutes and powder buns. Great service and can’t wait to go back to sit down and eat in.
Superb food and service. Can't wait to go back. Was full so took my milk cake dessert to go. We were blessed to get there before the crowd came through.
Absolutely Loved EVERYTHING I ordered today. I ordered salmon and the orange walk tacos … and neither disappointed… the rice that the salmon came with had a light taste of coconut that was juuuuuust prefect!!! Oh and I took home a tamale that was also extremely satisfying… Thank you Leslie for such an excellent food experience … hope to see you soon… actually, I’m such I will… ☺️
Thee BEST Belizean Food in L.A. I've been to others, and the food is mid or too spicy. Ask for the beans panades, and the garnaches. The salbutes is life!! The owner Leslie does not have beans panades on the menu but will make it for you when they have it because they do run out of them if enough customers as for them, they are my absolute fave, just tell them Indigo sent you.. they know me I break my budget there each time I go. Post script: I usually order the appetizers but when I had the garlic shrimp entree, oh my goodness it was soooo very tasty, and cooked to perfection!!
Delicious! It was a lil pricey but so good. I had one of their breakfast plates, I don’t even like beans and then beans were good. Coming back

It was a good experience. I would come back for the sampler plate and the fried JACK for sure, the Jamaican pinapple soda was delic. I love jerk chicken but theirs was a little sweet which through my tast buds off. Other than that it was a great experience.
This place was a nice little surprise. Had it saved. Wanted to go to this place. Went with a friend. The service was amazing. He was very detailed oriented. He really took care of us. He described everything perfectly. The ice creams that they had were so good. The food was really tasty and seasoned. He was the only one working so it was a little slow but his service made up for that and the food as well. The decoration that might need some work but it's not the food at this place. You will go and enjoy it

I love this place. The food is great the owner is awesome. The only reason I knocked off a star or two is because they only give you a small sauce cup of potato salad like the ones for ranch or something and call it a side. It is more of a sample of potato salad. As a customer it does make me feel a little ripped off. Especially when your paying $20-30 a plate. This is just a little bit of constructive criticism and is not meant to offend anyone in any way. I also want to mention you do get a nice portion of Cole slaw or cabbage salad. For that reason I do not recommend ordering the potato salad. I just think out of fairness the potato salad should be the same amount as the other salads for what you are paying. I don't eat coleslaw or cabbage salad. Which is why I order the potato salad. In addition the service can be very slow at times when you eat in. The servers can also be very rude sometimes when handing you your food. This review is my honest opinion and not intended to offend anyone. I love this place however there is a little room for improvement. I definitely still recommend eating there because the food is delicious!

Food was rather high, given the quality and portions. I ordered the fried snapper that was definitely just sitting under a heat lamp, the $30 oxtails had the cabbage missing and 2 large portions of somewhat dry rice and beans. Instead of so much rice, more oxtail would have been reasonable, given the price. To their credit, the oxtail was amazing. The plantains weren't that sweet. The appetizer sampler came with no sauce. The juices were a hit though Overalls, for a 100 meal, I wasn't impressed. Ill likely just go to a Jamaican restaurant next time.

But the food was nasty they served us water down brown stew chicken dinner it tastes like when somebody add water to the gravy to stretch it ! The food had no taste only water down taste I’m tired of ordering from them and it’s a hit and miss with the food this is ridiculous! If you’ll don’t know how to cook or run a restaurant why have one waste money ! We trash the food

Definitely wasn’t grandmas Belizean food. Rice and beans was dry and oxtail had no flavor at all. As soon as I opened the plate in could tell by the color they weren’t going to be good and the fat was not trimmed. Much better belizean restaurants on the other side of town. Will travel next time.
