Food delicious . We had tempura vegetable , mackerel salad, rosti with duck egg & 4th dish was salmon & all were very very tasty 😋😋 wonder why it has taken so long to return but will definitely be back more often & been told menu changes frequently 👍👌🏻(i can delete people from my photos so it was not as quiet as pics show 😂)

Visited Cafe Gandolfi for breakfast on a Tuesday around 10am It was busy but thankfully some spare tables to accommodate the two of us - we had 2 full breakfasts. Food was really delicious and high quality - especially the stornoway black pudding. Service was really great, staff were very friendly and personable

This is possibly the best Scottish food we ate in Scotland. The place is very well-kept, and the staff is kind and friendly. An excellent place that you must visit when you're in Glasgow.

One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. The staff are very friendly and know all the regulars names. I had the Eggs Benedict and it was fantastic. My wife had the full Scottish and it too was great. High-quality ingredients cooked perfectly!

The Scotch Egg small plate and crispy potatoes were utterly perfect. Friendly service too

Delicious breakfast 🌞 The poached egg was perfect. I really enjoyed the black pudding. It was not too salty and oily and it melted in my mouth— better than the ones I had in England. The mushroom and sausage were also tasty. And the potato scone was new to me but resembled nostalgically the pancakes at home. Can’t imagine how I easily finished a full breakfast. There is a very good selection of tea, with nice quality and aroma. The dishes came fast and the service was really friendly. The interior is elegant and charming.

We lucked out and came at the perfect time to get a seat without a reservation! The Scottish breakfast is fabulous, lots of flavor and good portions. The French toast is massive and the perfect amount of sweetness. Everyone who worked there was kind, smiley, and had a great sense of humor! Definitely will be back next time we’re in Glasgow!

First dinner in Scotland and absolutely loved this place. Beautiful rustic decor, authentic sense of Glasgow history and culture and absolutely beautiful food. The black pudding with picked mushrooms was life changing and the bread and compound butter was Simple and delicious. The wait staff was kind and attentive to my little jet lagged kiddos and we had the opportunity to read the cafe’s cookbook intro: “well fed, well blessed”. This was the Glasgow meal I was hoping for!

The food is very tasty and the portions are good. They have quite successfully added their own spin on every dish we tried, which is a nice touch. The prices are a little on the high side though nothing outrageous. The service was good though a bit careless towards the end of the night, where drinks orders were being forgotten about repeatedly. All in all a good experience so can recommend this place if you want some great food in a nice setting.

Went here for lunch with 4 members of my family and we all had an exceptional meal. The service was brilliant and the food was delicious. Shame we didn't have any space for desert because it all sounded incredible.

One of the best brunch restaurants in Glasgow. Friendly staff and amazing food, also the decoration makes me feel like I've stepped back in time a couple of decades. Eating in such an atmosphere is already a pleasure in itself. Me and my friend had Poached Eggs and Egg Benedict, bacon and eggs are cooked just right. We also had coffee after finished food. Even we just have 1 hour time slot according to the booking system, no one came to remind us when the time was up. Had a really nice time there, will definitely come there often!

This restaurant is actual vibes. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is sensational. We were visiting from Sydney and had flown in the morning we were to attend, and were so exhausted but really wanted to try their food. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. Will definitely be back next time we are in Glasgow.

I’ve been travelling around Europe for 3 months, 15 countries, trying local delicacies. I came here for the haggis and let me tell you it did not disappoint! In fact I’d have to say it was probably one of the best meals I’ve had in the last 3 months! Flavoursome, smooth, hearty, and just so satisfyingly good! The sauce on the side was just the perfect balance of flavours and tied everything in together so well. My compliments to the chef! Thank you for a very memorable meal. 10/10 would recommend!

Amazing place for dinner. Friendly service which was very personal and they experimented a bit with traditional scottish cuisine. Mix a scotch egg with Nduja and you get an exciting dish! They also get their haggis from an award winning butcher. So allthough this was my first time trying haggis, I really liked it. A very home dish in a very homy place.

Beautiful restaurant below a pub you find Cafe Gandolfi! Incredible wooden floors and furniture makes this place warm and inviting. We got the Smoked Salmon & Scramble along with the Full English/Scottish Breakfast (Fry Up) and enjoyed every bite of eggs, bread, and meat that we had before a full day of sight seeing!

I had an amazing veggie breakfast (Halloumi, avocado, spinach, tomatoes, potato scone, mushroom, poached egg, and sourdough toast). Everything was cooked perfectly. Friendly staff, and the owner greeted customers like friends. Will definitely go back.

What a funky spot! Came for breakfast - I had the Poached Eggs on Toast (with avocado and whipped feta) and my husband had the Full Scottish. Both were super yummy, everything was perfectly cooked. Staff was friendly and service was fast. The building was once an old cheese market, and the decor inside is really nest. Highly recommend for breakfast or brunch in Glasgow!

Lovely restaurant in the city centre. We visited on Saturday for my dads birthday and had a really great meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely book in advance as it was really busy.

We arrived to a warm welcome and were immediately struck by the beautiful bespoke wooden furniture. Our waiter allowed us to sample a few wines before we made our decision, which was a nice touch. Mains were hearty, with my braised beef flaking apart. The Parmesan polenta was rich and packed a cheesy punch with a glossy sauce and crisp leeks to accompany. The chicken parmigiana was massive with a tasty fresh tomato sauce and melted mozzarella. Our side of nutty Cypriot potatoes good value for money. Highly recommended

Came here for breakfast with the in-laws after a kilt fitting nearby as recommended by a friend who had been (she also recommended to book it as it can be difficult for a walk in). Three of us had the eggs Hebridean and one Gandolfi full breakfast. The teas were perfect and my mother-in-law said her latte was beautiful. The best poached eggs I've had to date. The father-in-law said his breakfast was brilliant but some baked beans would have finished it off perfectly haha. The decor is cosy and full of character. A lot of history and woodwork/art. Staff were pleasant and professional. Would definitely love to come back here again!

Really nice place to sit. Good variety of breakfast choices. The teas, coffees and juices arrived quickly, the food took a while. We had finished are drinks and had to order more for with the food. We weren't in a hurry so it was ok for us. All the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

We stopped in for breakfast and we were not disappointed. The brioche french toast with caramelised banana and walnuts is fantastic. Cappuccino was great as well. So glad we stopped in! Friendly and fast service!

We Googled the best breakfasts in Glasgow and it recommended this establishment. We were not disappointed! The Scottish breakfast has set us up for the day! The staff were attentive and friendly. The service was excellent and the food was superb!

Absolutely love the place. The food was delicious and the dark chocolate cheesecake was the best we ever had. And the atmosphere was great. We came with our 11 month old baby who can’t stay still, staff were friendly and very understanding, we felt so welcome and had the best time. Will definitely go back again when we are visiting the city next.

Wonderful food served in a very beautiful surroundings. The Tim Stead arts & crafts furniture is a joy & the photographs on the wall fascinating. All that, & the very attentive friendly staff make this a wonderful place.

Went here for breakfast on a Friday morning. All went for Scottish breakfasts which were absolutely delicious, bacon in particular was a stand out. Staff were very friendly and attentive. All in all couldn't fault it if your in Glasgow I'd thoroughly recommend this place.

Have wanted to try this for years and really no good reason for not doing so but at least we've finally popped in. Knew the Cullen skink would be amazing as we've been using their recipe at home but on a wet day, it seemed even more inviting. Rice pudding was lovely as was the millionaire's shortcake, though regretted the hot chocolate on the side, luscious though it was, just a sugar overload - entirely my own fault! Great service too; friendly, efficient and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Have already booked to go back for a longer lunch and can definitely see why this becomes such a firm favourite.

I spent several hours in Gandolfi working on my book, and it turned out to be the perfect place for writing and quiet reflection. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful — warm, calm and full of character. I was sitting in one of the wooden booths, slightly tucked away from the main area, and it truly felt like my own little creative corner. It was comfortable, peaceful, and had just the right amount of background life to keep the mind inspired without being distracting. The staff were very kind and respectful, and I never felt rushed. Gandolfi has that rare, old-style soul that makes you want to stay longer, write more, think deeper and simply enjoy being there. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who writes, creates, or just needs a quiet, beautiful space to slow down and breathe for a moment. I will definitely be coming back.

We were walking around looking for a place for brunch and came across this comfortable looking restaurant. There were quite a number of dishes I wanted to try on the menu so we just ordered a couple different things to share! My favourite was a tiny fried cheese ball! Delicious coffee too!

Authentic place. You can smell history in furniture s wood. Service and atmosphere is excellent. Food is not the best to be honest but tastes good, dont order the french toast. I would recommend it

We were looking for a breakfast place on a Saturday and found this cafe highly recommended in many articles. Thought of giving it a try and we were not disappointed. We had one of the best bacon + Brioche French Toast and Gandolfi Full Breakfast. We are definitely going to try more food here soon. 😊 We went around 8.30 am in the morning and it was not very busy.

A more upmarket and healthier establishment. Breakfast was lovely and they agreed to swap the sourdough toast for French toast and asked how I wished to have my eggs. I asked for cranberry juice twice and was brought apple. The atmosphere and decor was lovely but if you're after for a traditional Scottish breakfast with lorne sausage and haggis this isn't it.

Had breakfast in here today with my parents. After seeing all the great reviews, I thought we would give it a try. The breakfast menu is great, reasonably priced, flat whites are amazing 👏 I had the scrambled eggs with Salmon, Dad the breakfast and my mum who was not feeling 💯 had the toast and scrambled eggs. The food was lovely, my dad gave his 10/10 and he's not always easy to please🤣scrambled eggs where brilliant. I would recommend booking as it was busy. Staff are lovely

We each had a veggie breakfast and latte. Service was good overall - just 1 smashed glass. Tasty food. This place is a Glasgow institution. However, that message never made it to the toilets here. Loose toilet seat, dirty toilet bowl, broken old hand drier, dirty grouting - very grotty. Would be a quick fix. Not a good look.

My friend and I came here on a visit to Glasgow. Service was good. My mate was out having a ciggie when the food came, so the server went to get him. The food was good. Sausage was full of meat and my poached egg was cooked perfectly. The bacon was thick and streaky with excellent black pudding. No baked beans so have to knock a star off for that im afraid. Two full breakfasts and two mamosa were 50 quid. Expsensive for what you got but clearly popular as they were taking bookings. Personally I wouldnt return as I have had nicer for cheaper.

- Conveniently located for city centre access. - Food was overly oily and greasy. - Methods of cooking weren't highlighted in the menu. - Large plates, small portions, oddly presented. - Seated quickly but 15 mins to be served. - Staff were irritated and abrupt. - Expensive option for city centre dining.

Tried avocado toast and the cream was a lot but the coffee and service was great!

Beautiful and much beloved breakfast brunch spot in the merchants area of Glasgow it may be, but was unfortunately a miss for us on the day we visited. For the premium price you are paying the quality of the finished product was disappointing. We had undercooked bacon, over cooked poached eggs, grilled tomatoes which hadn't been introduced to the grill. Was a dreadful shame as I know in its heydays this place was supposed to be something truly special.

Came for breakfast earlier in the week and we were left frustrated. We were sat down promptly, but it was a full TWENTY-FIVE minutes (and this was after trying to flag MULTIPLE staff down to order) before we were even greeted at the table, let alone given an opportunity to order. French toast and eggs benedict were actually rather tasty (the brioche toast for the French toast was a great choice), and considering the portion sizes as well they were very well priced - great value for money. If the service had been more prompt, we'd likely return here, but unfortunately when you allocate an hour for a table, and we're sat without any attention for nearly half of our reserved time, it's hard to move past. I would recommend for small families or the lesser mobile though, seems like a good spot for those groups.

Went for breakfast, and while the food was good and I found the decor and atmosphere of the cafe to be nice and cosy. The service was anything but, the man who served me, Kerr, really seems like he couldn't care less if he tried and is the definition of "The lights are on but nobody's home." I feel it also took ages just for the food and some juice to even make it to the table. As I said the food was very nice when it arrived but wow, that server was dire.
