Honestly some of the friendliest staff I've encountered that don't deserve the hate that they're getting. They're all surprisingly young and as long as your not a jerk to them they're very friendly. The time on the drive through is actually good as long as you don't order an 8 family platter and expect them to have it in 60 seconds. Overall I'm happy with this locating and will continue to come here.
The drive up line can get long, but these ice cream professionals are fast! We wish there were more Dairy Queen's or at least one closer to us! It's probably best that there isn't 😁
Best superman blizzard was awesome knowing that my niece working in a dairy queen in Sandy OR so that was helping to know all the good things on menu
Went through the drive through around 5pm, there was about 4 cars in front of us, but the crew was able to complete orders fast, and moved everyone along pretty quick. I'd say about 3 minutes per car. I got 2 singles and my spouse got a flamethrower burger. My burgers were a special order and they were delicious. The meat tasted like it was from a backyard BBQ. Excellent meat to bun ratio. The flamethrower, oh man, now I like spicy foods, but that thing made my nose hairs burn. My spouse was red-faced by the end of it, and she reports 10 outta 10 for it. All in all, 3 delicious burgers for $12 in 3 minutes. Couldn't ask for more.
This girl….. named Gillian and this girl named Braine. They are the BEST workers there! They are so nice and work fast
Always a good place to have a bite to eat and a treat following.
I've had a good experience almost every time I've eaten here. The food has been made fresh the ice cream is amazing. 10 out of 10 recommend this location
This place was amazing!!! We came in when they were about to close and barely made it at 9:59. They took the time to make fresh chicken for us, and they were very kind and helpful! Fernando gave me a very kind smile as he gave me the food, and let me know that they made the chicken just for us. Absolutely amazing service, and the whole team was amazing.
i haven’t been to a DQ in about 15yrs. the staff was great, very helpful and patient with my gazillion or so menu questions (those soft pretzel thingys are DEVINE). the bathroom was unisex (I’m almost positive), clean (no smells) with a nifty sink basin to wash your hands in. my only complaint is the entrance location should be more widely disclosed in real big letters. it’s on the first left side street if you’re turning off Tualatin Hwy for those of you new to this burg (like me) or directionally challenged (like me as well:)).
It's better than most of the fast food options around, but compared to other dairy queens, this location leaves a lot to be desired. The tenders aren't crispy, the country gravey is watery and the staff aren't the friendliest. Subpar dairy queen but I'd rather eat here over the other places around it
Friendly competent service. Impressed that our food was brought out to our table. Fries tasted like they were coated, but were better than coated fries at other chains. Onion rings were good. Cheeseburgers were good. We appreciated that they had mustard, ketchup and pickle instead of the sauce other chains use. Portions were small, but appropriate for the price and for our appetites. Milk shakes were good. Overall price was good. Although it is on the corner of Hwy 8 and Brookwood, you need to enter on 49th Ave off Brookwood to drive into the parking lot.
Went through the drive thru and ate on the way home. Food was really good for the most part. The fries were cold and rubbery, but we enjoyed everything else. The service was good, but the line was slow. The employee at the window was amazingly nice and patient as we ensured the order was correct.
Just went to drive-thru ordered lunch and a no ice soft drink. The girl put ice in my drink. I handed it back to her asking for no ice. Figured it was right this time so drove into parking lot and put my straw in. Guess what?!! It had ice!!! I had to get down and get my own! Check your order before you get out of the line. Especially if it's the girl with glasses and pixie hair cut.
The store needs updating. The Cashier was friendly. Slow service for so many employees. But, I'm glad they are teaching the next generation to work.
I really only come here for the Ice Cream (Blizzard). So I can't speak to the quality of the meals. But their Ice Cream, and Blizzard flavors are pretty good 😄 My most recent visit was good. Went through the drive-thru, there was quite the line. But it was progressing fairly quickly, considering. My total visit time was about 15-20 mins in total, including wait time in line. Service was quick, relatively speaking. And the Blizzard was as expected. No mess. No fuss. In and out, and enjoying my ice cream 😁
Drove thru a got a plain vanilla cone. This is a favorite treat on trips.
I went through the drive thru service that they had, which proceeded good. I ordered a chili dog, a blizzard, and one burger combo with water and onion rings. The packaging was done well, though I guess I'm surprised that they decided to give me the blizzard first before the food, which took about 3 minutes. After a 15 minute drive back home and eating, the Blizzard and chili dog tasted great. Burger was alright, though when I got to the onion rings they didn't taste very good when lukewarm. Overall it was a decent meal and service was prompt and polite.
It's a DQ. The place was clean and the staff were very friendly. Fries and blizzards were excellent, burgers were mediocre. They had a decent selection of ice cream cakes in a freezer as well. Not gourmet, but good for a fast, salty or sweet late night snack.
We were not acknowledged when we arrived, I get it you are busy, but just a nice "Hello, be with you in a minute" would have been nice. I would say we waited a good 5-10 minutes before our orders were taken. There were a lot of flies flying around. I was charged over $3 for a large water, they could have said the small water was free. But, I guess I should have known better? The only saving grace was the ice cream desserts were good. 11/19/2025 update There were no flies this time and the ice cream was good. I had the Heath caramel brownie cupfection and my husband had a vanilla dipped cone. Mine was delicious, there is an actual brownie in the cup, I thought it was only going to be brownie bits. They didn't skimp on the toppings, there might be a little too much.
I have been coming to this location since its inception. That is to say, for decades. The food never disappoints but be extremely warey of the dine in/pick up experience. Some of the rudest, slowest employees I have ever seen in any sort of establishment. Fast food or otherwise. Stick to the drive thru. DO NOT dine in or pick up food here.
Just went through the drive-thru...ordered a chicken strip kids meal, they asked what dipping sauce and I said ranch as usual. I get to the window, pay and they give me the bag. I checked and saw no ranch in it so asked for ranch. They said it'll be 50c coz it doesn't show up on their screen lmao what? I said no, there's no ranch in the bag, I don't want extra ranch, just want what is supposed to be in the bag. After 2 mins of "checking" they finally came back with some ranch. Didn't even put napkins or a straw for the drink smh. Just terrible service! Do better!
Cashier seemed new. Filled easy order before ours. We were first. We only had two cones. Girl never spoke but to ask our order. Didn't tell me how much mine even cost. Gave a young girl change back by putting it on the counter and told her it was over there.
I love DQ. But the TV hwy locations quality has gone down the drain. I have been there 3 times in the last two weeks. So far this has been my experience... 1) ordered chicken strips with gravy and there was no lid on the gravy so it completely dumped out into the bottom of the box. 2) the next time, I ordered two chicken strip meals with gravy and honey mustard on both. The in formed me they would have to charge me for the two honey mustards ( that’s fine, I have no problem with that) so I pay for them and didn’t get either of them. 3) today I ordered chicken strip basket and pretzel sticks with queso. I got a tablespoon of queso which is enough for 1 and a half sticks. I’m not one to usually complain because I work in the service industry myself. But it’s pretty ridiculous to get a screwed up order every time I go to that location. So I guess I will just be driving to the Aloha I be from now on.
Food: Burger was a 5, fries were a 2, and blizzard was a 3. Not sure why but the fries were cold and the blizzard was served runny. Overall the service and atmosphere were good.
I must say this Dairy Queen that I live by has gone down hill in the last 4 or 6 months. The last three times I have gotten a blizzard it is top heavy on the toppings so if you eat it as is you have nothing but vanilla soft serve on the bottom half. The cup is also is only 85% full most of the time. Staff is not friendly like they used to be. I guess I am better off buying a pint at the nearby Fred Meyer instead. I'll try again in a year maybe.
I got a Oreo blizzard about 30 minutes ago and there where Reese's in it and a piece of plastic
Ordered 2 medium blizzards, banana split. There was hardly any flavoring in them. It was for me like eating plain vanilla ice cream with few strawberry seeds(I requested no chocolate) ,2 small pieces of pineapple, no banana pieces what so ever. My husband's was the same except he at least had the chocolate. Bought today Friday March 8 2024.
Going to that Dairy Queen is OK, but it’s a Bad Location. It’s difficult to come out or make a Left Turn at a Busy Intersection on Brookwood at TV Highway. So we need to move to a New Location either Sunset Esplanade or Downtown Hillsboro.
I usually only review when it's positive but....: Fries not fresh at all, literally cool and chewy, waited in long line then waited more because the order was missing items🤦♀️. $31 for 2 chicken strips meals and 2 small blizzards with scanty toppings and a dipped cone...... I'll pass. The people were very nice🤙🏼. Just the quality does not justify the price🤑. Rather go to Burgerville and spend same price on delicious Bliss shakes🥤 and black bean burgers🍔 and truffle fries🍟 which are always hot and crisp. Sorry Dairy Queen.
Dairy Queen is the only place for many, many miles where you can purchase chocolate soft serve ice cream! I love the blizzard selections and that they change every so often. However, the food is hit or miss. I don't recommend ordering food close to close. Their hours fluctuate Winter & Summer-- so be sure to check before you head over!
The Brownie Batter blizzard was amazing! However, they only use vanilla soft-serve ice cream instead of chocolate as their base, so I had to request an extra hot fudge chocolate sauce to mask its flavour and enhance the taste of the brownie batter and crushed Oreo cookies. The place didn't smell all that great. Dairy Queen should've honestly remained an ice cream shop instead of expanding to a full-on grill... after all that' what they're known for!
Stop by for a mini strawberry blizzard... Got some double cup mania .... Why did they put a micro inside of a regular mini cup? It makes the blizzard look like it's a regular mini or small mini or whatever, but really it's some microscopic mini that fits the entire cup inside of another entire mini blizzard cup!!! ... So they gave me a micro blizzard when they should have gave me a mini blizzard, but then they put the mini blizzard inside of a micro blizzard cup, and then put that inside of the mini blizzard cup... Take a closer look at the pictures.
Just had a five dollar bacon cheeseburger. The bun smelled moldy. Had a replacement burger made which was just as bad. Not sure what's up. Everything else was good. Way too busy for lunch unless you have an hour solid. Had to wait almost 30 minutes for my food and they didn't bring everything I ordered. Seriously needs a survey program, some quality control, and improvements in the food inventory.
We always drive threw and get medium size blizzards. The last 3 times the blizzards are not fully mixed. The bottom of the cup is just ice cream and the top are the ingredients. At first we thought it was a fluke, but it continues to happen.
Servers are sweet; been here a few times - but I have been given the exact same thin, soupy textured blizzard each time
In general, I love Dariy Queen. The food is usually good and ice cream tasty. My issue with this location is that they skimp on the blizzards. I ordered a large, I doubt the amount that I received would even fill a medium cup. I have a picture of the amount I received after I complained and they "added extra". Also, I was informed that this location does not serve them upside down and does not honor any signage that says you get a free one if it's not served that way. My biggest complaint is that if I'm paying for a large, I'd like the amount that a large should be.
The only reason I gave this two stars instead of one is that the blizzards are good 90% of the time. Just stay away from the food years ago this location used to be good but now the meal is just thrown together in a box, and it's usually pretty measly portions( if you get a 6 piece chicken strip meal most of the time 2 or 3 pieces will be only an inch wide)it's sad this used to be one of my favorite fast food restaurants, but whether it's all the high school kid employees that don't have a good work ethic, or poor supplies it's not worth it.
We come here fairly regularly for family treats. The food is typical for a Dairy Queen, and the frozen treats are always good. However, they get two stars because of the horrible staff at this location. I know it's teenagers, but this store seems to collect the rude ones with zero customer service. They sound annoyed when you order, and they bark your total and rarely say thank you I don't expect to be wowed at a place like this, but I do expect friendly and polite staff, which I have never encountered at this location.
Many people are blaming the teenage staff for the terrible food and service. But from being close friends with many employees. And dealing with this myself, the owner/manager is incompetent and makes these kid's work miserable. I don't blame the kids for being in a bad mood when the owner is there. I was forced to wait 25 minutes on a small fries and once I got them they were cold, all because the owner decided to kick the kid who was handling the kitchen out and do it himself. The only reason I give 2 stars is because when the kids are in decent moods, and the ice cream machines, which the owner refuses to fix, are working, you can get some good quality ice cream for yourself and your dog if you like.
While we love Dairy Queen for a yummy treat, we were left in shock over the dismal and rude service. Having been a restaurant worker for many years, I was really disappointed in how my family and I were treated. We ordered around 8:50 pm. We sat down to eat quickly since we were told they were serving to go only. We were packing up our kids to leave at 9 and young lady walked past us and ignored us and locked the front doors. No common courtesy to let us know they were preparing to lock up. I would have lost my job had I locked customers in the dining room. We were ignored till I asked for the front doors to be opened so we could safely get out little kids and infant to the car. I was then looked at with contempt and pointed towards the side door which opens to the drive through road way. Not impressed. I had to hold up traffic from the drive through so my family could walk in the road in the dark to our car. I never leave reviews but this left me really disappointed. We will go to Cold Stone for the foreseeable future.
A classic old DQ. Staff are friendly but a little slow. Our Blizzards had lots of our chosen flavor. Parking lot is nice and big. It can be a little tricky finding the entrance to the parking lot due to it being off to the side but there is good signage. Update: Today I ordered a blizzard thru their app. I got delayed on my way and when I got there, I found they had it waiting on the counter melting. If they are going to make it ahead, they should keep it in a cooler. Or they should wait to make it till I arrive like most fast food places do. Not impressed. Update: Ordered a blizzard tonight and it took 20 minutes to get it, and four times of reminding them. I'm not impressed.
Almost everything about Dairy Queen is as you expect. But if you ask for extra whip cream at this Dairy Queen? They will give you a pathetic little dollop. Every. Single. Time. For months I would come here every now and then and every time I would ask for extra whip cream. They used to do it no problem. But these past (at least) half a year? Good luck. You make them repeat the order back to you? Won’t help. I wouldn’t mind charging extra for it. I wouldn’t mind if it happened a couple times. But it’s happened, *every, single, time* and only at this location.
This is an old restaurant, and the atmosphere inside demonstrates that 100%. The food, outside of the ice creams, is not that great anymore. Even the ice creams, all based around vanilla soft serve, though you can ask for chocolate, get boring incredibly quickly. The workers here do not demonstrate any desire to have you, the customer, stay beyond taking your food off the counter. There is a definite feeling of disregard towards the customers.
People taking orders are not trained. You shouldn't have to say your order over and over. This location has This problem, also they have higher prices than other stores. 7.99 for qt of ice cream. Other stores 5. 69. Ridiculous. Will go to other locations Farmington rd is best.
The quality of the food here has really gone down hill. Unfortunately. I have been coming here for years and it didn’t used to be this bad. They are so busy that they basically undercook everything to move it out faster. My chicken strips were not fully cooked. The outer part was just falling off. The fries and onion rings had to be put in the air fryer. Very disappointing
I took the lid off my drink cup to empty it before disposing of it and found a long black hair stuck to the inside of the cup! My husband is bald and my hair is silver so it definitely wasn't our hair. Gross!!! I called to report it but the manager didn't really seem to care but she did offer me another drink. No thank you!!!
I waited almost 50 minutes for my food and it was bland. Fries were cold, chicken was burnt and had an undercooked taste at the same time. The girl up front messed up my order multiple times. Overall not a good look for the business.
Change your hours online! It says 10:30PM on Friday and Saturday but when I pulled up tonight at 9:58 ya'll were already closed. Drive thru lights and lights in the building were all off already. So not only were you not open until 10:30 like it shows online, but you didn't even stay open until 10PM.. i know it sucks when people show up during the last few minutes that you're open but it shouldn't matter. even if it's 9:59 you are most definitely supposed to stay open until 10PM..
If I could give them a lower score I would. Truly the most deplorable fast food location I've ever experienced. After ordering my food I waited 15mins in he parking lot for them to "bring it out". I finally went inside to retrieve my money and they promptly brought me my food. Obviously put together in a hurry, it was pretty terrible. But don't just take my word for it, look at all of the other glowing reviews for this run down dump.
As many have said, terrible customer service from the high schoolers working and terrible food. Wait time in drive thru is terrible. I had to pull up and wait 15 minutes for food. When I received it, food was cold and dripping with grease. The medium blizzard I received was filled about 1/2 way, ingredients were not mixed at all and didn't have all the ingredients the recipe called for. Not to mention, the ice cream was dripping all over the container when I received it. I did not receive any salt, pepper, ketchup or paper towels either as as K ed for before parking to wait for food.
To call the staff incompetent would be an insult to incompetent people. No one here understands how to do their job. Orders with insanely long wait times. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, Go to any other dairy queen
If you are going to get food from this location check the food before you leave to make sure it’s not cold. They had handed me my food before the ice cream and I had to wait another 7+ minutes cause they were busy by the time I was able to enjoy my burger it was cold and gross also fries tasted raw will never visit again for food still has good ice cream though.
Would rate it less but I can't. Is it possible for the employees to care less? I realize this is fast food but basic cleanliness isn't that hard. The tables are dirty, the trash overflowing, don't even go into the bathrooms. When you have 2 customers and they've been served is it that hard to clean the dining room?
I went through to get cones and a sundae to celebrate my children’s last day of the school year. I also got cheese curds and fries. They gave me the ice cream first and told me to park out front to wait for my food. As a result the cones melted by the time the food came. I asked for a replacement since I had to wait. I was told no. Then, I called the manager to express my dissatisfaction. Typically, the response is to make it right. That’s not the case here. I was informed by the manager that he hears my dissatisfaction but won’t provide customer service to fix the inconvenience since that’s not in their policy. Instead I was advised to order my hot food first. Once I receive the food I should then go back through the drive through to order my ice cream. Next time will be never. I’ll drive to a different DQ before I support that location ever again.
It’s been over a year since last attempting to get a good blizzard at this location. We were so disappointed by this place we stopped going. My husband and I were hoping it would be better by now. Used to be tasty but it’s a waste of money. We ordered Mint Chocolate Chip Oreo. Again epic fail. I ordered extra toppings even. My blizzard came with hardly any ingrediants and might I say there was only a couple of bites of goodness and I stress couple of bites...Extra toppings ya right, ripped me off! Didn’t even get a normal amount of toppings. After the first 3 bites it was just soft serve vanilla ice cream and not mint. Well, I guess if you like a large vanilla soft serve non-blizzard for the price of extra toppings you are in luck....
I ordered a banana split in the drive through. (I treat myself every couple years and was really looking forward to it.) I got home to find they forgot the banana! I called and was told I could have another within a week at no charge. So a week later,I took them up on the offer. Same scenario... But this time they forgot the peanuts I requested! I will never try them again.
It sucks, I seem to only ever pop on to here to post negative reviews but for reference, I only ever post a negative review when it was THAT bad. Went through earlier this evening and ordered dinner for my family. Among the order was a chicken sandwich, grilled instead of breaded with no tomatoes and add cheese (#6 on the menu). Got everything and headed home. Once home passed out everything and discovered my sandwich was wrong (wrong bun, no cheese and there was a tomato), there weren't many fries, and they were cold. This after having to drive around and wait forever for them to bring out the order. This happens all the time at this location, but I was in a hurry to get home and didn't check this time around. So I headed back to request a remake, and the person at the order screen was very snippy with me, arguing that the sandwich comes with a different type of bun than shown if grilled is requested (which I only mentioned the bun because I thought they had given me literally a different sandwich and I wanted to make sure they knew what I wanted) but to pull up. When I got there, a young guy (not older than 25 at most) with medium length (around 4 inches) black hair took my bag and receipt and asked what was wrong. I explained it all, and the only reply he gives me is he snickers and asks "how do I know if you weren't given many fries or if you just ate them?" At that point I was fed up. Demanded my refund and the number for the franchise owner. He replied that they don't give that out and that the replacement was ready. I again asked for a refund. He again said that the food was ready. I said I didn't care to eat it with him acting like that, and then I asked to speak to his general manager, and he replied that he was one of the managers. I again asked to speak to his manager, and he said that they didn't have a general manager and that he was one of the three managers. I asked him his name and he said Josh. He gave me $7 back and I drove away. I don't know who that was, if he was a manager, or if any of the info he gave me was real, but holy cow. I try really hard to be understanding of service workers like this, but that was just a joke.
I’d give zero stars if an option. Ordered a chicken strip basket with gravy dipping sauce, the chicken was soggy gross and the gravy cup was full of water that they made white. Most disgusting meal I’ve seen from a fast food place in my life. Threw it all in the trash where it belonged! DO NOT GO HERE
One of them worst fast food restaurant I have been too. Lazy lazy lazy. I refuse to return. The last 15 blizzards my family has ordered were melted and not mixed fully. What a rip off. The top 1/4 to 1/3 (if your lucky) is actually mixed with the flavor you chose or at least some random flavor. The rest of it is just plain vanilla soft serve. Order the Royal Blizzard same thing and no filling down the middle. Order chicken strip with gravy? Hope you like it yellow and crusty! Yuck.
Disclaimer: this rating is for a specific instance in is not what happens normally. Today I went here for lunch and I ordered 1 lunch and 2 extra blizzards. In short, I was here for 45 minutes and had 5 wrong items and 3 things remade. I started in line at the drive through. From start of line to paying for my order took 17 minutes. I went inside because I forgot to order another blizzard and I asked for a LARGE CHOCOLATE SUNDAE, instead I received a large hot fudge sundae. So when I went to the counter I waited for 10 minutes for someone to take my order and wasn't greeted nor told to hold on. When I ordered I asked for a small m&m sundae with peanut butter sauce put in (I even forgot that it wasn't supposed to be that blizzard because of the wait). They put the order as 2 separate blizzards (one with peanut butter sauce, one with M&M's). I had to get that fixed (which didn't have peanut butter when I got it). Then the sundae was given to me as a chocolate sundae in a small! Then they proceeded to tell me "we don't have large sundae's"?! Like how did I order a large one the 20+ times I been here? Then I was given a large hot fudge sundae with Heath bars in it? With all these remakes it took another 18 minutes... Then someone else who ordered earlier asked if mine was messed up too... She told me this was the 4th in a row that was messed up (her included). They continuously avoided greeting the customer or even letting them know that they were busy for a few minutes.
Bought an Oreo Blizzard today and paid 69¢ extra to add cheesecake pieces. They literally put 2 tiny pieces of cheesecake in there when in the past approx 15 pieces was the norm. The ice cream was also about 1 inch shy from the top (not the norm) yet my brother paid less for his Blizzard and it was overfilled to where the lid would barely stay on, which is normal for Blizzard's so I was pretty disappointed. 😞😢😭
This place was super disappointing tonight. All the food was cold, but especially the french fries. Like they had just been sitting out and were hard. They charged me extra to put lettuce on my wife's burger then when i got home no lettuce. It sucks that this is the one closest to my house because we most likely will not be going back. The manager really needs to get control of whatever is going on there
I like Dairy Queen, my parents took us since we were little. I drove out of my way on my motorcycle to get a treat at this store of my closest vicinity. I got the 5 buck lunch chicken strip basket and upgraded to the oreo blizzard. It was about 3 pm and steady business. It took about 8 minutes for the food to arrive and I'm not disappointed in that. The strips were just warm and not crispy, the 4 oz country gravy cup was less than half full. The fries were without heat but okay. The most disappointing part was when the teenager brought my food, he handed me the tray and the blizzard. I said "you're not going to do the flip?". He said "We don't do that here."And I replied sarcastically "Oh, neat". Then I researched the deal about not doing the flip and company policy. Is it still in effect that you get a free blizzard of they don't turn out over and then upright again to show the thickness? Anyway, I just ate my stale snack and rode off disappointed. I'll hit another place than this location again. What a bummer. My blizzard did not have the cookies swirled into the bottom of the ice cream. #Stoopidfirstworldproblems #dairyqueen
Sadly, I was not impressed. Haven't been to DQ in a while. Onion rings were over $3 for 6 individual onion rings. Also, sadly, their service was very robotic and not very friendly. The change in food and price alone will sadly stop me from going to DQ anymore.
Love DQ but this location is so inconsistent with quality. I’ve ordered gravy with my chicken basket and they will hand it to you half cold in a styrofoam cup that is melted because they microwave it. They also do not do the ice cream cupcakes and they did not hand blizzards upside down.
I stopped by here last night on way home and have had the worst experience ever at any Dairy Queen. I have always appreciated it because it is so convenient to house but after last night I will drive to another location. Obviously the other reviews are true of the management team here. I had to repeat the order 5 times to the person at the drive thru to ensure they got it correct. Once at the window the attendants were truly clueless and there seemed to be no one in charge. All i ordered were two medium hot fudge sundaes, large order of fries and a cheeseburger. I got one small sundae and the quantity of fries could be counted on maybe equivalent to a small order or even less. Really the only thing that was somewhat correct was the cheeseburger but that was a bit over cooked so it was real dry. Sorry for the rambling but hopefully the corporate people read these and understand that experiences like these of customers truly ruin the reputation this company has.
Our last few experiences eating here (drive-thru only) were extremely unsatisfying. Not only did their order window not function, but when we got up to the window it took several minutes for us to receive any service, and when we did it was so they could ask us to repeat our entire order once more. We decided not to be upset and reasoned that perhaps they were understaffed. They were not, but more on that in a bit. We watched as our blizzards were made before our chicken strips, and when we finally (some fifteen minutes later) received our food there was no bag. As we were handed our boxes we asked for a second time if there was gravy in the boxes. We were assured there was and so left and drove to a parking spot to check our order. There was no gravy. We went in to get some and we're blatantly ignored by the woman who took our order and two young men who appeared to be working as well. This lasted about ten minutes before we could finally leave with our entire meal, blizzards melted.
Been to this location a few times and every single time the chocolate machine wasn't working. The really young people don't seem to know what they are doing and our most recent visit we had to wait an unreasonably long time for two large fries and two large blizzards and there was no one in front of us. And of course we couldn't get our chocolate blizzards because again the chocolate wasn't working and the fries were definitely not cooked right, some over cooked and some not cooked enough. Thankfully the vanilla didn't taste bad. Probably won't ever go to this location again.
Ordered through the app and went through the drive-thru to pick it up. Person at the DT window told us to pull through and park, and they would bring our food out to us. I parked about a close to the entrance as I could to make it easy on them. I waited over 20 minutes and nothing. Couldn’t go inside to ask because the lobby was closed for the night, so had to go through the drive through line (at least 4 cars in front) again. Asked them where was our food. It was just sitting by their drive thru register and they handed it to us. I take the food and pull out, and I look in the big bag and they forgot our blizzard. Also the fries were super soggy by this point of over 20 minutes or just sitting in a closed bag. I probably should have checked the bag, before I pulled away, so that’s partially my bad. Had to go through the drive thru a 3rd time. Told them they did not give us our blizzard and had them remake our entire order. They told us to park in front and they would bring it out to us. It took them 5 minutes to bring out of food…finally. The person who brought out our food apologized and said they gave us some extra food to make up for the inconvenience. There was no extra food in the bag, unless they were counting the 2 extra gravy cups. Even still, no amount of extra food can make up for the 50 minute wait and their many errors. The only positive, is once they finally gave us all of our food, they did get the entire order correct. I wouldn’t recommend using the app and going through the drive though. I will avoid this location in the future.
Tried again. I give up. They gave me a heath blizzard when i ordered caramel truffle. Stay away from this location. TV highway. I honestly can't rate the atmosphere because I used drive thru. I got a chicken strip basket. Was not edible. The fries were dried up to bricks and the chicken was cold. So disappointing.
The front counter girl was very rude. my chocolate dipped strawberry blizzard had 1 strawberry and not much strawberry sauce barley pink ice cream after waiting 15 minutes for 2 small 1 mini and 2 other ice creams. We got our stuff went outside because it was a sauna in there I went back for some cheese curds and it was only half full and apparently dosent come with any sauce...
Terrible service! We were standing around for a really long time after we ordered. They gave our ice cream first and stood there longer waiting for our food. Another 20 minutes go by, so my husband asked where our food is. It was literally sitting on the counter behind them for over 20 minutes. So cold food AND melted ice cream.
Wanted to get a large fry and just a burger Patty on the side was told. I couldn't have just one Patty. I have to purchase the whole burger for ten dollars. Then I ask well what if I ordered a burger? And I just wanted to add an extra Patty and she tells me. Yeah, you can do that, but you have to have a burger first. What a joke. Talk about horrible customer service and there Fries suck too so don't come here
The food was okay honestly, about what you’d expect from a Dairy Queen location. I go to this location somewhat frequently, I’ve also noticed there is only like 1 cook, and seems to be by herself quite often. Shouldn’t there be 2-3 cooks back there and not just 1? She seemed very stressed, even for a fast food cook. I think they should start training more cooks if that’s the case that she’s the only one cooking with all the people that come in if that’s the case.
Employees are rude as hell 3 people working one intercom. Is not OK coming from somebody who works customer service, they are horrible. And they skimp you on so much A. Regular ice cream cone barely has any ice cream in it. The food there, it's disgusting.
Walked in and tried to order. 4 people working. 2 people looked at me, didn't say a word, and looked away. After waiting 10 minutes I just walked out
This is the worst DQ within 50 miles! Usually the service is fair, same as the food. The ownership and management are the absolute worst! This is a franchise location, and it is the best example of how to not run a franchise if you want to make money. The cut corners at every possible chance. Under portion items and charge extra for everything, compared to a corporate location. It is also very evident that they have cut corners on training employees as it took no less than 6 employees to make a blizzard, a peanut butter parfait, and a water through the drive thru. Hopefully corporate pulls the plug soon and gives Hillsboro the DQ it deserves!
Got my food, I was a bit distracted (I had my dog in the car and he was being extra so was trying to keep him at bay) but when I got home I realized they did not give me my change ($8) and they did not give me the right sauce. Maybe if the kids working were paying attention and not standing around talking about who knows what, they would have given my money back to me (I hope they didn’t just throw it in their tip jar) and maybe would have given me the right sauce. Im a bit bummed out..
06/19/24 We ordered a peanut buster parfait and a small blizzard. The peanut buster parfait was filled to about 75-80% of what we normally get but at least had the distinct layers of ice cream with the fudge stripes. Maybe they have changed the amount you get instead of increasing the price, who knows. The top half of the blizzard was mixed with the flavorings while, literally, the bottom half was nothing but vanilla ice cream. I took the blizzard back into the store when I realized this and asked for my money back. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE that I could see from the counter had a smile, or anything close to one, on their face. The person at the cash register was waiting on another customer and during the interaction was handing drink cups to the customer with their fingers clinging to the inside of the cup. TOTALLY against health codes! The manager/supervisor, after some hesitation, did give me my money back but wasn’t very pleasant about it. The one positive thing about the experience was that as I turned around to leave I heard the manager/supervisor say something like “Hey everyone, make sure you completely mix the blizzards”.
We get dairy queen all the time and were very surprised to find chunks of a napkin in our blizzard. Im not even sure how that would happen but they found a way somehow. When we returned the cashier was very cold and unapolagetic about the ordeal. Love dq but tonight was not their best
Stopped by this morning at 10:45am to get two chicken strip baskets. The gentleman that took our order looked out of it, (high, drunk, etc.). We ordered our food and were told it would take awhile and to park and wait. Why did it take them until 11:10am for our food to be done and in hand? Fast food means quick, not a 25 minute wait time. This is the third time something like this has happened at this location. Won’t ever be coming back. Get some employees that take pride in what they do and bust there butt to make it the best it can be. Do better!
Updated as of 11/17/2025 This DQ Business is pushing back delivery orders as they continue to serve regular Drive-Thru orders. DELIVERY DRIVERS BEWARE.... Ended up Waiting as I saw cars go past me before before anyone decided to come out and realized they had multiple drivers waiting outside that they had pushed back to wait in front of Store Parking spaces
I arrived at this location and then spent the next 10 minutes standing in front of the register while two employees navigated his employee meal never looking at me once. Generally speaking I can understand this but to not even look up and acknowledge my presence or to tell me they would be with me in a moment is insulting and speaks volumes about how they run this franchise. Once I finally was asked for my order I sat for another 15 minutes waiting only to find the burger and all its ingredients cold. The bun felt like it had just been taken out of the fridge, the lettuce was half frozen, the burger patty was luke warm and the cheese was not melted in any way. The only reason I give this establishment three stars for “Atmosphere” is due to the good hearted conversations I heard between people eating there. I honestly don’t know if they ever got their food though…
Way to go DQ. You charge money for ranch dip, when no other place does. But then you fill one cup less than half full and the other just a little over half full. I realize nothing is free, but you could at least give me my monies worth. You’re one of the most expensive fast food places in town. You might think about making it worth it to come back.
Literally spent 3.39 for three pretzels only for the smallest amount of queso to be most likely thrown into or not shut properly into the bag and spread everywhere. Also the employee’s didn’t acknowledge me really, and didn’t converse even a little. I used to work here for a year and I know the standards are low but yikes.
Dairy Queen has always been a favorite of mine growing up and continued as an adult. I don't blame this location for getting rid of the Ultimate Burger, but this location specifically has to be the worst one in Oregon. Now before anyone questions the legitimacy of this review, these are problems they have had pre-covid, not just now. As someone mentioned in a previous review, the line in the afternoons is always out to the street, so it is not that they are not making money, but rather it seems that the owners/franchisees are not putting any money into it. Common problems: 1. gravy in the strip basket is almost never warm 2. If you walk in, don't expect to be acknowledged or seen for some time. Seems like the drive through is the focus 3. Order is wrong half the time, and if you want to get it fixed, see point #2 above. Today's adventure consisted of the following 1. Gravy - cold again 2. Plain cheeseburger kids meal - cheeseburger not plain, bun is hard 3. Blizzard - pretty much a milkshake. Aren't they supposed to flip it over to show you how thick it is? 4. Iced tea - still included the tea (see the included picture). Not a pleasant thing to take a mouthful of. Now the reason I am writing this review, is for two reasons. First to let people know that if you want great Dairy Queen, this one is not the place. Second, when we called them back for resolution, we were met with resistance the whole time. Asked to speak to a manager, apparently there is no manager. Asked for a refund for the amount of issues, told we need to come in to get cash. The excuse we got was that they were short staffed. I am generally graceful when it comes to that, because I would rather a place be slow than shut down, but I don't think short staffed means poor quality. I think it just shows a lack of caring. Maybe its the attitude of the employees, maybe they don't feel respected, and I can get that, but overall this place needs an attitude adjustment
I went through the drive through which took at least 10 minutes. My chicken sandwich had brown and slimy lettuces in it and the peanut buster parfait had barely any hot fudge on it. I had to flag the staff down and ask for more hot fudge on top but when I ate it there was barely any more in the dessert and I was just eating peanuts.
